I would have been ok with this place had it been just a normal $70/night run-of-the-mill motel, but it wasn't. When I pay $225/night for a room with a "partial ocean view" I don't expect that to mean a widow facing the building next to it. I also expect a TV with at least regular cable… This place had 12 crappy analog channels and the TV wasn't even A smart TV. Not to mention if you're in the far bed you can only see half the TV bc the bolted-down "armoir" is in the way. Completely ruined my daughter's 16th birthday sleepover party. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone under the age of 75…

Staff is very very nice. However MOLD! Covered the smoke detector and was on the bed skirt and spots on the wall. Not worth the $.

Our second time staying here and once again we had a great stay. The assistant manger, Scott was very friendly when we checked in and out. Could use some updating but we enjoyed it. So close to everything. We will be back again.

Not much good to say. Terrible room design. Can only see half of the tv. Sliding door takes 2 people to get it closed. Toilet seat falling off. Outside shower broken. Outside walkways trashed. Pool was closed the first day and is slightly larger than a hot tub. Front desk was inept. Couldn’t provide any channel guide. Asked to have our filthy windows washed and had to do them ourselves. They actually gave us the stuff to do it ourselves. Parking sucked.

The rooms were aweful. Construction going on. It was a very bad experience.

This place has no hot water. Contacted them and @hotels. Com and neither would do anything about it. After talking with a few people, it is a few rooms like this. We made it through but explain to me why I am paying a full price for half the service?

We just got back and enjoyed our stay at Seaside Inn. The front office women were exceptionally nice and the free continental breakfast was good (If your not picky and don't need breakfast meat). The rooms were small (that didn't bother us really though cause who goes to the beach to sit in their room? ), outdated and did smell a little musty but, my hubby is a heat/air guy and he checked the filters in our air unit. It was very dusty and had mold on it but nothing a little soap, clorox wipes and lysol couldn't fix. Smell went away. The rooms just need a little extra cleaning. The cleaning ladies were very nice though. It was worth just walking out our door, hearing the waves, down the stairs, a few steps and your feet hit that beach sand! We would visit again.

Excellent staff, spectacular views, walk to restaurants, bars and beach. Plentiful breakfast selection. Tanya, Keisha and Michelle are a pleasure. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! Can’t wait to return.

Very friendly staff, perfect location. Next to everything IOP. Good value. Great beach access… COMFY beds.
can't think of anything I don't like about Seaside Inn.

The Inn was very old with very little updates. We had to get a new room card key each time we went out of our room. The coffee pot in the room was at least 20 years old. The continental breakfast was muffins and yogurt! They had a pancake machine, but it didn't work.

Clean, comfy and convenient! Tanya and Keisha are part of the Fantastic staff!

We stayed at the Seaside Inn last week and enjoyed it so much that we are getting ready to book their again and stay next week. We love that it is located directly on the beach with easy access to the beach by private Boardwalk. The colorful retro Vibe is great and they also offer complimentary beach cruiser bikes! That is awesome! Keisha and Shar at the front desk were delightful personalities and so kind! … I was so excited to wake up at sunrise 3 days in a row at low tide and find starfish all over the beach! Of course I made sure to put them back in the ocean.

Fun atmosphere and right off the beach. Rooms were a little small and no one could get service on their phones without connecting to the Wi-Fi. But was a nice experience.

Seaside Inn is in a great location — there are stairs leading right down to the beach and a handful of restaurants and bars on the same street. The service has been good so far. The beds in our room were only full-size. The air conditioning works great.

Very very clean. Air conditioning is cold ceiling fan and great lighting in the room. Beds are super comfy rooms are up to date tile shower and bathroom is nice clean and up to date. Flat screen TV. Microwave. And coffee are provided in room. Lotion shampoo soap and makeup wipes provided which the makeup wipes were a nice asset for us women. My only complaints are upon going in the room for first time after checking in no shower curtain was up in bathroom and I had to shower as it was already after 4 and the floor got soaked (if I'm paying over $200 a night to stay somewhere the basics should be in order such as a shower curtain being up without having to go ask front desk) and the second day room service had not came to clean room and make beds until 4pm and we had been gone from the room since 8am and that was after asking the maid to please get to our room as we were about to be back in the room and taking showers for the evening. Despite the above mentioned, I would recommend seaside inn for your overnight stay at Isle of Palms.

There wasn't any kind of room service except for the occasional lady (with minimal english) asking about towels. We stayed for 3 days. The room was full of sand and the drawers were full of trash when we walked into the room on the first day! The pool is a large bathtub so we stayed away from that. However the breakfast was great, and we payed for a partial view of the ocean which we got, and we were on the beach too! The inn is near The Dinghy bar which was good for a bite to eat and it was right next to all the stores. Overall it was a fun experience and I wouldn't have traded it for anything! Great vacation.

Can't go wrong being on the ocean. Rooms were nice but a tad damp. Continental breakfast was nice and started early, 6am. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, and shoppping. Staff was friendly and helpful.

This is a kitchy little hotel on the beach. Cool 50's beach vibe. Clean rooms. Compact but they have everything you need, including a great ocean view!

The views are amazing. The hotel had an older, musty smell though. We kept our door propped open most of the time bc of that. Service was good. Location is fantastic. Would've given 4 stars of not for the smell.

This place is in a great location but the customer service when checking in was terrible. Rude.

The only pro of this hotel is the location. Staff isn’t welcoming, the room smelled strongly of some strange cleaning solution, and there where yellow stains on the sheets. The worst part is both myself and the person I stayed with were bitten by bed bugs. Save your self the headache/disgust and book elsewhere.

The rooms were clean. They had a slight damp odor to them which is to be expected on the beach. The staff were all courteous. It's a perfect location. The Windjammer's next door, The Dinghy's across the street and Acme Lowcountry Kitchen is a block away. We will stay here again.

Great location and service experience. Not crowded and could not hear any other guests. There are multiple restaurants and bars within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again!

The worst customer service I have ever had! Do not stay here front desk clerk has a terrible attitude. Talked to her on the phone and I let it slide. Went there in person and she was even worst. Fire This person she is the worst and I stay in hotels at least a week a month. Ruth is her name I think. I will never stay here. I would advise others not to. Hire some professional help! You need it.

Pancake machine was neat. This is a very basic hotel. Price was great, and the location is fantastic. If you are just here to play on the beach, it is a good choice.

The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff was helpful and courteous. The noise from the Windjammer bar, two buildings down, was our only complaint. The Windjammer is not affiliated with the Seaside Inn. Will definitely go back!

Not the best hotel I've ever stayed in but it's not horrible. Very nice staff.

Our room is excellent and the staff has been wonderful. The beach is so close and beautiful. Will deffinately be back… often.

Nice that it is right on the beach, room was pretty clean, sucked that the coffee pot had two moldy used filters in the basket and we didn't get the room we requested even tho it was available. Pillows were chunky foam. Desk clerk was polite.

When we first checked in we were giving a room that was already occupied. After waiting an hour, we checked into a room that was filthy! The room smelled like urine and the sheets and towels were Nasty. The pillow cases had mascara on them and the towels looked like someone had cleaned there shoes with them! The camode has not been cleaned and the plumbing Sang when u turned the water on. We immediately checked out and had to go and find another room for the night! The room was too nasty to lay down in the bed! We will not be back! We will not recommend this property to anyone! This place should be condemned!

A Place We Have Been Coming to For Years. Unfortunately, Our Remote control to the TV wouldn't Work and Neither Would the next few remotes the Staff Offered. So, We put it on the News Channel and Went to Sleep. Following Morning We Moved to an Oveanfront Room and Loved Our Visit to the Beach.

Our family of 4 stayed in July of 2017. The room was nice. The hotel is great! Exactly how I pictured an ocean side hotel! We parked across the street basically. Not a big deal. We were there to visit the ocean! We parked and only moved it once. Hotel room is small but we didn't spend a lot of time inside. It's right on the ocean so that was a big plus! We are returning to the island summer of 2018 and will book here!

Excellent service, superior location, well-priced and despite some reviews to the contrary, a very clean room. The pool was just fine for a refreshing dip after the beach. Parking was fine and plenty of dining within a short walk.

Great location right on the beach. But, awful hotel — unfriendly service, dirty rooms, leaking ac, trash in the corridors, etc. Just a real dump. Avoid unless there is no other choice!

Stayed here and the palms for years. Here lately, I've been disappointed because of how unclean the rooms are. This past time, there was stuff on the ceiling, floor, microwave, and lamp shades, as well as spots where stuff has dripped down the walls. Nice bathrooms and beds though, as well as their tvs. The closeness to the beach is always nice. The pool is a major disappointment because it's only 3 1/2 deep throughout and very small. It's a good hotel to stay at if The Palms is booked up… but if not, then the Palms hotel is the best option.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, and it was a mediocre experience. The rooms were clean overall and the beach was beautiful, however there were some downfalls. The "oceanview/front" rooms did not offer a private balcony or even really a great view of the ocean, which was a big bummer for me as I like to enjoy a quiet morning out there and couldn't as neighbors were walking down the hallway all the time. We also were planning on taking advantage of the breakfast but it was not great, to say the least. Eggs poured from a bag, maybe some hot food (if you got there in time), and limited cold/bland options for anything else. We did like the central location!

The only thing this dump has going for it is location on the beach. Rooms were nasty they stunk so bad. House keeping is the pits. When we checked in there was less than half a roll of tissue in the bath room. When my wife call down to the front desk to request more she was told that she could come down there and get it her self. Very disrespectful clerk at front desk. Don't bother with the nasty breakfast there either. The sea side inn was so bad that we ended up cutting our vacation short just to get out of there. Never again. Wouldn't recommend this dump to anyone so do your self a favor find some where else to stay if your in the area.

Location was perfect. Room had a strong smell. Not sure of what. The advertised pool is out of commission.

Elegantly Shabby. Laid back and relaxing oceanfront. Just what we needed. This is my second visit. We will be back.

The seaside inn was located in beautiful part of the Charleston beach. Very decently priced although it is the off season. Right outside your door you can see the ocean. Room was simple yet elegant. Slept with the window cracked to the sound of the waves. Breakfast was very decent and you just can't beat being feet from the beach.

We had the worst experience we have ever had at this hotel! The front desk clerk Elana was very rude to us and other customers that checked in before us. When I asked for a manager she yelled and cussed at me and even threatened me. There was no way to contact management and I did not feel safe staying there. She even locked us out of our room. I must say the other staff were very nice and helpful. I would never recommend staying there as long as she works there.

We love this place. It is the only place we stay each time we come here. The staff has been wonderful and we are never disappointed. We always manage to get our top floor ocean front room each visit. Would recommend the Seaside Inn to anyone heading to this beautiful area. Cannot wait to check in again!

We stayed for our first time in June. It was WAY better then thano when we came back a few days ago. I was so sad that room 216 reeked of mold coming out of the bathroom vent. There was black grime all in the vent. I will say this much — they were FAST to better accommodate us and room 116 was cleaner, it smelled better, and it had much better upgrades. They have a great view of the ocean, just be mindful that it might say "private balcony" but it's not. Still. The guests are respectful, too. Would I stay again? More than likely. But was the moldy room worth the 200 dollars? No. Was the fact they accommodated us based on our first nights experience worth it? Are you kidding? Absolutely! This place is still on my map!

BLACK MOLD! I hate bashing businesses on the internet but this was BAD. We had to stay at this hotel for a few days. Once we got there we saw how TINY and NASTY the room was but couldn't make other arrangements. There was BLACK MOLD on the AC vent so we had to sleep with the window open. There's no ventilation. Take one shower and your room is a jungle for the rest of your stay, unless you prop the door open and babysit your room. The doors STICK! Thank God there wasn't a fire! The room smelled of old people and dusty books and there was a thick layer of dust on the blinds. Breakfast always ran out 2 hours early. The towels were old and worn out, the shower curtain was all torn up, there was more MOLD in the shower and the bathroom vent fan was broken and dirty. The toilet kept running, every time you turn on a fan or a blow drier the bathroom exhaust strains and the TV gets grainy which is a sign of bad wiring. I'm shocked that this place hasn't gone up in flames. Housekeeping came and only made 1 of the 2 beds on only 1 day out of 4. The only good part? Being directly ON the beach and the staff is ok. Don't stay here. Book a nice hotel and drive to the beach. Ps. I Have photos to prove my accusations.

It was amazing stay! Would recommend the rooms on the end because they had the best view of the beach. We really enjoyed our private patio with the big chairs.

Great place to stay! Perfect location to all you need as far as dining, beach and shops Newly renovated with very coastal decor, the rooms were very clean and the staff was so nice. Will definitely stay there again.
