Avoid this place. Live bugs behind the curtains. Sticky carpet floors. Shady looking people hanging outside their rooms drinking, smoking. Smelled of weed. I should've done more diligence before booking this place. It was disgusting. Spend the extra money and stay at a brand name hotel.

The location of the hotel is really close to the beach and the price is great. It may look a bit shady at first but the room is really clean. The bathroom is kinda small but it's okay. The lady at the counter was really nice. Another big perk is you can park your car here for as long as you have a reservation, which is really nice cause you can walk to almost everything.

When we arrived, we were told that our reservation was somehow placed on the wrong day. After correcting that, we were charged a third time for our room — they claimed that they had only charged us twice. Looking past those two mistakes only leads to more inconvenience. Upon finally getting into our room, we were greeted by nats and flies everywhere. We dismissed these pesky creatures because of our excitement to be so close to the beach. Of course, soon after unpacking, our fridge began making a squeaking sound that continued on and off throughout most of our stay. Maintenance also, after one knock and a half-second pause, let in two guys to spray pesticides while we were still in the room. Overall, just avoid this place unless you are desperate.

It was alright. Beds weren't super comfy, no ocean view, and there was a drunk guy letting off fireworks so the cops were called. But the upside was the receptionist Yolanda, who was super nice, and there was a mouth watering pizzeria right beside the hotel. Not a bad experience, pretty average lol.

DANGER: BED BUG Infestation at Happy Holiday Motel and Manager Yolanda refused to a refund after the bugs were shown to employees. I had to leave and book another motel that’s clean and not infested with roaches & bed bugs. April 21, 2018 Bed Bug Infestations at Happy Holiday Motel. These bugs will infest your clothing and then travel with you to ingest your home. The treatment to resolve is anywhere from $500 — $2000 be careful not to sleep with bed bugs.

Amazing Customer Service. Everyone that works here has been super nice and welcoming. The room I am in, is very spacious, beds are super comfy and very clean.

I was hesitant about booking this hotel because of the poor reviews given previously. However, I was very pleased. This is a nice place to go during the off season if you are looking for a great deal. It was in the middle of everything, right on the strip! You could walk to a few restaurants, 2 arcades, the beach, 2 piers, shops, and a boardwalk. You might be able to walk to Family Kingdom. It is comfortable for a couple. The only downer is the Wi-Fi is weak, but then again that is not what I came for. Main attractions like Broadway on the Beach, Medieval Times, etc are a convenient drive.

This place is awsome. They have good beds, pillows are a lil soft for me but that's a personal thing. Bathtub was slightly dirty but that's all over all amazing motel. Great location. Amazing staff, and awesome amenities.

I have stayed here a good bit over the years and I used to love this place especially bc of the location. But this place has become rundown. The phones aren't even plugged up and the tub and toilet keeps stopping up. It's bad when u are having to fix things yourself in a motel room. The window isnt even glass its some type of plexi glass and are nasty. We are in a smoking room with no ash trays. And when I asked for ash trays last night the guy told me they didnt have any. No room service we are leaving tomorrow and apparently there is no maintenance people here on the weekends which is plain ignorant. I still haven't heard anything back on what theyare going to do but I am very disappointed in this place. It used to be really nice he'll they don't have a hair dryer coffee pot or anything no alarm clock and there isn't even a plug in near the bed. Not to mention after being gone all day we come back to the tub full of nasty muddy water! I'm not taking a bath in that. I usually don't write reviews and complain but this is outrageous. The woman asked if there had been room service and I'm like if there was they just come and took a bath cuz they sure didnt clean anything and the tub didnt look like that when we left. They gonna have to do something bc I'm getting mad we need baths!

Office staff was super nice. The rooms are a little outdated, but nothing terrible. The shower is too short for me (I'm 6'3). Overall it is decent if you don't mind the road noise.

Apparently local money isnt accepted by this place! I am not a local but I called to ask about the nightly prices and the very rude woman who answered asked if I was local, I didn't really understand what she meant so I said yes, she then rudely told me they dont rent to locals. I am pretty sure thats discrimination and I will definitely go buy a week from a place that doesn't have ignorant owners or employees.

Office people were friendly and helpful. Right across from the ocean. That is the only good things I can say! Would never stay again! Rules are strict, but not enforced at all. Not very clean, never get clean towels we didn't even have a trash can! Lots of rap music and partying in the parking lot. People yelling and fighting in their rooms our last night there our neighbors fought and yelled most of the night. Office did nothing at all to stop it. Looks like I have to give it atleast one star to post or I wouldn't even do that!

We really enjoyed the Lil cottage like part of the motel we stayed in it was like old school myrtle beach when I was a teen… But the room needed work it was still clean great view of ocean comfy beds friendly don't desk older gent can't remember the nameover all Decent place to stay oceanfront for the Money.

Room was pretty good for a last minute trip clean and the counter clerk Salena was the best anything we needed she help I would go there again.

Good price horrible service. We needed towels and toilet tissue. The girl on second shift gone tell us that's not her job it's first shift job. Then all the plugs are falling out the wall. Room smelled like mill dew. There was trash everywhere. But im guessing that's your normal roach motel. Like this is crazy to be going through this B's with people.

Had a good experience on busy weekend. Can`t ask for better on this price. Management was good and friendly. Clean room with utilities.

Electricity shut off halfway through the night. But the room was clean and the AC kept working so it was decent. Staff was helpful and for the price it was overall fairly decent.

This hotel needs new management and also remodeling, mainly remodeling BAD. It was disgusting. I barely could get to sleep being that the room was so nasty looking. I went to use the bathroom and there was a roll of tissue with poop on the bottom. I will never recommend this hotel ever. I'd rather sleep in my car next time if I was desperate that's how disgusted I was. The guy at the front desk cussed the whole transaction. Terrible customer service. The lady at check out was nice. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. It is like a block from the beach.

It was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at! I don't recommend this place to everyone. The room we stayed in smelled like Weed when we came in, there's pot roaches everywhere, they say they will bring somethings up in the morning and the afternoon comes and they still haven't came! They are short staff and need more helpers! We waited for 3 hours AFTER check in to get our room AND had to move 3 different rooms with NO A. C AFTER THE FACT! I wouldn't even give it one star but I have to to post this. This is the worst place anyone could ever stay at! I will NEVER EVER stay here again. To top it off they say you can't have a refund for anything reason at all, so I wouldn't even bother with this place.

If you feel the need to experience Myrtle Beach like a teenager on spring break, namely high and barely conscious, then this is the hotel for you. I wouldn't recommend whatsoever, especially when traveling with family. Sure, it's close to the beach, but getting stared down while trying to walk past the people hanging out on the balcony in front of your room isn't helpful to the vacation vibe.

Horrible experience! 1 star is being too kind. The room is outdated. Looks like something out of a horror movie. There was a hole in the door. Both mattresses had big stains. Sheets had holes in them. Smelled like cigarettes! We immediately decided to leave and they would NOT refund our money. Horrible Place!

Trash, No maintenance. Also, there are cockroaches… so yea, nasty. Should be closed down. Because this building is a waste of space in Myrtle Beach. I had to stay there because all other were sold out. Don't go there. I regret it.

Happy holiday might be a room if you want to just lay your head but when we got up to the room there was a big white streak down the middle of the blanket on one of the beds and it advertised a flat screen TV and no such luck. It was not clean and ashes were everywhere and some of the lights wouldn't work! The personnel were very nice though! The housekeeper came right away to change the blankets on the bed and the lady and men up at the front desk got us in quickly and even let my son use the restroom behind the counter! It's not too bad but I won't be staying there again.

Hotal location was nice, everything is the worst! -that's probably the worst hotel I ever had, the only thing interesting from this hotel is its location. Just 10 minutes walk from the Beach only thing was they need to clean that place up! Need to update the rooms need a paint job bathroom needs painting and the Kitchen need a new stove filthy! I MEAN DIRRTY bugs in the room! you had to pay $2.50 for ice.

Only stayed for a night because we decided to leave for vacation earlier. Could see the ocean across the road from outside our door. Very affordable and clean. Friendly staff. Unsure about the pool because we didn't have a chance to check it out. Downside was the huge hotel right across the road with the immature people screaming things at people off there balcony, while people walked down the road. Extremely loud music and shaking there butts off the balcony. I was terrified that one of them were going to fall and didn't think it was a great area for my children because of the nonsense. Amazingly that hotel charges $300 plus. Absolutely no complaints with the happy holiday hotel itself. Small affordable hotel with a great view.

We really were happy with this hotel. It's literally across the road to the beach, which was amazing for the price we paid (cheapest hotel on our vacation). The staff were all super friendly and helped us not only with what to do in Myrtle Beach, but what to do in Charleston SC and Savannah GA! They really knew what they were talking about when it came to attractions to see and not see. There was a huge list of kind of random rules when you check in, but if you tell them how many people are staying at the time of booking, there really shouldn't be a problem. The door to the room didn't actually closed unless you slammed it and that made us feel bad for the rooms around us, but the room itself was clean and large and considering that Bike Week was going on literally right outside our window, it was very quiet, too. I'd stay here again and every time we come back to Myrtle Beach.

Cheap on weekdays. Clean double beds, clean refrigerator, good Wi-Fi signal, clean bathroom, nice drapes, weak A/C, name brand flat screen TV! Room 202 SENIOR WEEK 2016 (class of 2012)

INVESTED WITH COCKROACHES! As soon as it turned dark they came out from everywhere. We left instantly and had to pay for another room.

I kid y'all not, the first night my gf and I stayed in a room, the TV was possessed. It wouldnt change the channel and it would cut off by itself. One of the managers moved us to another room everything was good, … at least so I thought. I was in the middle of dinner when a Roach the size of a nickle came from an imaginary hole in the wall and stared my food down like it was theirs. They don't check fridges or refrigerator's because someone left a shrimp scampi box dinner in the fridge. Check out time is 11:30 and they don't do late check out. Someone knocked on our door early because they were ready to clean the rooms. You would've thought you we're staying at the Sheraton, or Hilton. Just know you get what you pay for.

Horrible customer service. Room was not ready at check in at 6pm because the maid was living in the room. I waited over 1.5 hours for the hotel to evict the maid and clean the room. Once in the room, the person that cleaned my room stated that had run out of pillowcases, so I slept with my tshirt around my pillow. The desk would not refund my money, offer me a discount, or do anything but insincerely apologize. It was an all together awful experience.

I called over the phone to book a hotel for a friday night in july. The person at the desk said it would be $90 in which I agreed to pay. I gave her my credit card information and booked it. I drove three hours to find out that the employee messed up and it was actually $150 since the lady accidentally gave me the weekday rate. This motel is run down and not worth $60 let alone $150. I was willing to do $90 because it was summer in myrtle. I argued with the lady that we had already agreed to $90 and I wanted her to fix this as I drove 3 hours. I wouldn't have come if I knew it was that much. She said she could either take it out of the employees paycheck or reimburse me. All the hotels were booked so this wasn't an option. I told her we already agreed to $90 and paid for it on my credit card and she should stand by her word. She then said the lady who messed up was a single mother and if I wanted to take out the difference out of her check I could. I called her bluff and said yes and she still refused to do it. I have an app on my phone that records all my conversations and told her she needs to listen to what was said over the phone, but she refused. I disputed it with the credit card company and they said they can't use recordings to dispute charges so they won the fight. I told them I wanted to be reimbursed or i'm going to write on the travel sites about the poor customer service and shady practices they use and how they mistreat their workers.

BUGS BUGS BUGS! Every night we arrived back to our room there was bugs/cockroaches climbing around all over. This place is the worst! No up keep on anything. Paint chipping and falling off, cracks and separation in every wall and corner, bathroom was disgusting, seals on the doors needed to be replaced 10 years ago. Black mold on the once white now yellow shower curtain and lamp shades. Our entrance door to our room looked as if the DEA had once knocked it in, guessing that isn't far from the truth. There was dirt and filth everywhere. Luckily we brought extra blankets, there was no way I was going to get under their covers and sleep on that mattress after seeing the whole place. Did I mention the cord to our room phone was cut and just laying on the floor, SKETCHY! Pay up the extra cash and enjoy your stay somewhere else.

This place has bugs. Just about every night that we stayed we killed one, and staff did absolutely nothing about it. They said that they weren't roaches but that's exactly what they looked like (regardless, youd think they wouldn't want any bugs in their establishment). None of them were smaller than an inch. We were pretty freaked out and ready to pack our stuff half way through our vacation. The place is nasty on top of it. The room stunk and after the first bug we lifted everything (dresser bed nightstand) just to find more filth. Its just a gross place we avoided our room at all cost. Showering there was the worst. The staff was great Donna in particular made me feel very welcomed, however the man that they have at the front desk is a prick. He's the one who I told about the bugs and he pretty much brushed me off about it. I promise if you want to have a good time in myrtle beach don't stay here.

The staff is very nice and helpful. Our room wasn't five star but still clean and all we needed for a nice get away. We enjoyed our stay and plan on going back.

Visited Motel April 2014 After reading all the negative reviews I decided I was going to try Happy Holiday Motel out. I would recommend this Motel to anyone looking to vacation. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff are friendly and I was greeted with a smile by the staff androom service. I will definitely be coming back to Happy Holiday Motel. My daughter and I had a blast. Everything is close and the beach is right across the street. The parking lot is not crowded, I had no trouble parking at all. Never judge by someone else opinion, try it out for yourself.

I have never wrote a motel review before but reading about this motel online helped us prepare for what we were getting into, so I want to give my honest opinion for those who care before staying at the Happy Holiday. Reading the reviews helped me brace myself, and I feel the need to try to help you if you are reading this. I stayed July 2013. Why not a better rated hotel? It is cheap for a motel close to the beach. Very cheap, this is why I booked it. We stayed 4 nights. We called around needing reservations a week before the trip and many said no vacancy bc of our short notice. I was pleased when the Happy Holiday said there was a room for us plus their price with tax was very reasonable. The lady was very nice on the phone. I usually stay at a oceanfront hotel when I stay with my kids/family but this time it was just my husband and me on this unplanned vacation so we decided to try something different. When I first walked into the room, it smelled like stale cigs (overwhelming and I am a smoker myself — outdoor smoker I should say! ) and, in my opinion, the entire room was incredibly dirty. Ashes and sand on the floor from the previous occupants so if the housekeepers even did run a vacuum they need to get a new one bc that one belongs in the trash. The nightstand had not been moved, so dirt, ashes, gum wrappers were still there (probably from the spring breakers who stayed 2 months ago).

This place was terrible! My friend and I stayed here. The rooms was filthy! The pool was green and looked oily. The doors didnt close properly. And if u have alot of suit cases I suggest a ground or second floor room because they do not have elevators.

My boyfriend and I planned a last minute mini vacation to Myrtle Beach. Because it was so last minute, we were just looking for a cheap place to crash for a couple nights, we have stayed in a few run down motels on Ocean Blvd before and didn't mind. But this motel is the ABSOLUTE WORST!   First of all, the price for the place was ridiculous. The only reason we picked it was because it was the cheapest on Expedia for the location it was in. Meaning, it was across the street from the beach so walking was no big deal and we wouldn't have to pay for parking, but this place is in the GHETTO! If you want somewhere cheap and don't mind the cleanliness of your room, drive down there on Ocean blvd before you book a room, GUARANTEE you will get a better deal than we did!   Second, they had to have put us in the worst room. Room 110. It's on the bottom floor in between the very noisy street and the electrical room, where apparently they do laundry very early in the morning with a radio on very loud. So every morning of our vaca, we were woken up to cleaning ladies singing, car horns blaring and a rinky dink washing machine that sounded like it needed some oil.   And last, it's GROSS! There were eaten sunflower seeds in the floor of our room. The ceiling was pealing off. The fridge STUNK. A cleaning person NEVER stepped foot in our room while we were there. We had to go to the office and ask for more towels.
