My brother was there last night. After observing the room, there was a disgusting stain on the couch and they refused to refund his money. He was a faithful guest up until last night. It's a shame and disgrace they would not make it right. He will not be back there to stay and this message will be posted on every social media site there is!

Room smelled bad, the other room door wouldn’t shut and the door handle on the bathroom wasn’t attached. Terrible experience and would NEVER go back. Sad thing is our first night these 3 people said they had stayed there several times and they won’t be back due to their experience.

This weekend we stayed in the Schooner building third floor which provides with the best view ever! The oceanfront deluxe room was very spacious the balcony was very spacious as well, room was very clean, beds were comfortable and we were able to have our dog with us. Very quite at night; we will be returning. Was not a big fan of their restaurant food specially the breakfast but a very good stay overall! The pool specially they outside ones oceanfront ones were very clean! We had a great time!

We always have our family vacations here. I am a single parent and never had any issues. Staff was fantastic. Life guards were always located in front of the resort. The sports bar was a blast. Entertainment for all. I had no issues checking in or out. Will continue to visit…

Good accommodations Clean rooms. Pools clean. Plenty of chairs.

Some of the people at the front desk are very rude. One girl with half her head shaved very rude, through our access wrist bands to my husband and I because we complained about the cleanliness and smell of our room.

Very kid friendly they have many pools to go from when one may be crowded. It is right near the water so from your room to the beach is not far. Both restaurants are great! Breakfast is an amazing buffet with a lot of choices and worth the money. I was terrified to stay here due to Facebook reviews saying it’s disgusting and staff isn’t helpful. We stayed in the indigo tower and it looked newly remodeled. The buildings are a bit older but everything was well cleaned.

Very nice respectful employees, so far everything is going great. We have couple more nights. I would definitely recommend this resort ❤️

Dirty rooms smell pot everywhere and service was terrible. Spent a day of our vacation moving to another room. Our room was nasty rug was gummy with dirt. No bedding for wall bed and pull out. Sharon was unprofessional and disrespectful. House keeping didn’t come near our room during our stay but the last day came in before we checked out. We have stayed here many summer’s in the past but this visit will be the last. It’s so sad to see a place we have loved coming to for so Long go down like this.

Best resort our family has ever been to. The amenities are as promised online and are nice and tidy. The rooms are spacious and cozy. All of the staff are so sweet and welcoming. Best Myrtle Beach experience EVER. We never want to leave.

I am VERY disappointed in this place this trip… this used to be my go-to place. When my mom made the reservations, they didn't tell her everything we needed for check in, so the check in process took OVER AN HOUR. We got here at 3:35pm and didn't get completely in our rooms until almost 5pm. I love sunrises and sunsets and I was disappointed especially it being Thanksgiving that I had to miss being on the beach at sunset due to every problem we had at check in. Then the key bands… apparently mine got near my smart phone while taking a stroll on the beach and it quit working. So back to the front office I had to go… we have to have our phones so the bands need to be compatible with being around a phone. Especially in this day and time, it is not safe at all, to be here without a phone. Then I went back and tried to enjoy the beach YET AGAIN, and was going around different areas taking pictures of my dog, and had to be escorted to the front all because my dog did not have a yellow band around his collar. Seriously? Third time to the front office we go… I have spent half of my vacation being at the front desk… not only that, I have a picture I will post in comments but there was a piece of glass sitting in the hall when we arrived going to our room, and my dog knocked against it.

It was an awesome experience at this resort…. There are lots of amenities and even the weather was cloudy but all the heated pool, water slides n lazy river cover it up… everything is nearby.

Have been coming here for 10 years and still love it! Friendly staff & great management! Lots of heated pools & hot tubs, tiki bar, Crows Nest bar & restaurant, awesome breakfast at Compass Rose! Shuttle to airport, etc!

I did not get the room I paid for or requested. Paid $600 for 2 nights, including breakfast for 2 adults and 1 child… that sucked. The only sink was in the bathroom, NO service to the room so we ran out of clean towels and toilet paper. Beds were hard, so we barely fireworks and screaming until 3am even though Bike Week was cancelled. It was our Wedding Anniversary and couldn't enjoy it. The ONLY cool thing… all the cats (6) that live on the property.

Wonderful place. Lots of fun, you never even have to leave the hotel!

This will be lengthy but an informative review for someone who loves to check reviews before booking (such as myself). Don’t mind the messiness in the pictures… house keeping only came 1/5 days.
Good:
1. Booking was super easy, great price & awesome amenities!
2. When we checked in, everyone was very welcoming & they even gave us a packet of discounts to local places! Plus they gave us a free movie rental for staying with them.
3. They were under construction while we visited, but never once was any of it an inconvenience or interfered with our stay!
4. It’s March (chilly and rainy) however, all of their outdoor pools and hot tubs were open, and heated. This was really nice for the families who were in town. There’s several outdoor pools and a couple indoor, too. It gave everyone a chance to get out of the room even when weather wasn’t exactly ideal.
5. We didn’t get a chance to check out the dining facilities, but they looked clean and welcoming.
6. The rooms are spacious! The kitchen had the basic essentials, which I was nervous they wouldn’t, so it made cooking for ourselves more convenient! There isn’t any counter space though, at all.
7. There’s several beach accesses on the resort!
8. The views are beautiful, even for an ocean view and not oceanfront. But we could see the ocean from our bed which was all we could’ve asked for. Bad:
1. House keeping only came one time during our 5 day stay.

I believe the room prices are very low compared to what I've seen advertised at neighboring resorts. Dirty towels and trash taken away daily. Lots of heated pools and hot tubs both inside and outside of buildings. More access to parking would be nice, especially handicap.

This hotel was the best one we could have picked, it was right on the beach and had a beautiful view from our balcony! the rooms were spacious and absolutely beautiful and the prices were reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel itself was nice just the staff wasn’t very friendly or very helpful. The room didn’t like the picture and was very small. The staff refused to upgrade us even tho I offered to pay more money. My mom is in. Wheel chair and couldn’t maneuver around at all. We had to have her use the restroom in the lobby every time she had to go. It was very inconvenient.

My parents and I stayed here during our first vacation, and we enjoyed it. The room we were in was nice with a great ocean view, the people were so friendly and helpful, and their breakfast bar was delectable. It was breezy and terrific for Winter, but I know when Summer comes around, the excitement will definitely heat up, pun intended.

Checked out this morning from a 5 day stay. Compass cove offers great pools and hot tubs, parking is very convenient, staff is helpful. My only complaint is the furniture and beds was like sitting/sleeping on concrete.

My family and I love this place! We can’t wait to continue to go every time we visit Myrtle. The rooms are spacious and the showers are great! Every room we’ve had has had an amazing view. Lots of options for pools. Awesome location.

Everything was nice and clean friendly staff really enjoyed my stay.

Everything was clean, rooms were spacious. Ocean view was spectacular. Everything is in one place and convenient when traveling with kids (7 & 10)! We sang at the Karaoke Bar, we floated in the lazy river and swam in all the pools! We found hermit crabs on the beach! The waves were perfect. We loved the breakfast buffet every morning! We never tried anything else it was so good! See you next year.

We spent 5 nights and my kids all loved it. Clean rooms, fun pools. Only negative is lack of parking.

I love it! lots of fun things to do. Staff is very professional and courteous, we had a two bedroom, two bath. Sleeps six. The condo was immaculately clean. I highly recommend this place. I would give it 5stars.

It was the best stay we have had in a long time. Everything was perfect, food, room, and parking. Recommend the compass cove, to any one who has never been to Myrtle Beach.

My main concern when looking for places to stay in Myrtle Beach was cleanliness. I need a clean room, clean bedding (not even a speck on my sheets or I'm investigating it thinking it's a bug), strong water pressure for this thick curly hair and to blast the sand off of me, clean pools, clean pool towels and always available. I have had no problem feeling comfortable and clean here. Mind you we do not wear shoes in our own home but I must keep socks, slippers, or sandals on in the room and everywhere which is normal when not at home. The suites are carpeted and I wish it was all ceramic because it would be cleaner. The Compass Rose has a delicious breakfast buffet, many options, and we have ate there every day while here. I don't write reviews but after reading all the negative reviews on each resorts websites, we decided to book here because they had the least negative reviews. I'm so happy we booked here. Best decision we made! Best resort in Myrtle and we will be back! From the many pools, lazy rivers, splash park, water slides, 20 steps to the sand, DJ's poolside, and all the conveniences you must stay here with your family! Leave your worries at home and enjoy!

Moldy AC units and Bugs! The Air conditioner units in this place (the ones facing the ocean) are covered with mold/ mildew on the inside (see image), it was disgusting. The place did not smell horrible, but one look at the AC unit was enough to make me flip out. I cleaned it as best I could, but the thing needed to be disassembled. On my second knight, just before going to bed, I rolled over to my side and on the pillow beside me there was another one of the hotel guests just sitting there watching me… a roach (once again, see image). This place is a dump (I stayed at pinnacle by the way). I will never stay at this place again. Don't believe any of the positive reviews you may be reading, This place has gone downhill over the past few years. Stay away, especially if you have children!

We’ve been coming here for 10+ years and always enjoyed our stay. After this most recent vacation, we will probably be searching for a new hotel to stay in next summer. Our room was absolutely disgusting. The coffee pot was broke, the mattress for the Murphy bed was disconnected from the wall, there were holes in the wall, and the bathroom was just simply gross. We were left no towels, wash clothes, dish rags, SHEETS! or pillows in our room. When we called the front desk, it took over an hour to get them delivered to our room at 11pm. The showers are very slippery and the hotel no longer offers non slip pieces to put in the shower (I guess another way to cut costs). It’s time for a renovation Compass Cove… UPDATE: for 2 days in a row, our room was not cleaned properly. No toilet paper left, no towels/wash clothes, the room was not vacuumed or swept. I went down to the front office to have towels sent to our room only to have the front desk attendant catch an attitude when I asked how long it would be.

After reading reviews a week before our scheduled check in I wasn't sure what to expect. Check in was a little hectic, staff was very friendly, polite and helpful. Quite surprised how nice our room was. Very clean and spacious. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning our room every day. Had buffet breakfast everyday and the variety was nice, cereal, eggs to order, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage etc. Very family oriented resort, our grandchildren enjoyed the pools and lazy river. I would definitely recommend Compass Cove Resort for a nice family vacation!

This place is garbage. The halls smell like rot and the rooms are FAR from what’s advertised. When my wife and I arrived the toilet was disgusting and the tub a mess and the room smelled like smoke. When we asked for a new room they told us we would have to pay more. What a joke. No one came by to clean the rooms in the morning after we called THREE TIMES throughout. To sum it up, this place is a rotting tower of trash and you’d be better to spend your money literally anywhere else. I look forward to seeing it in my rear view mirror.

The best of the best! Great, friendly, helpful staff, great location. The amenities are fantastic, but the views from the rooms are serene, peaceful, healing, amazing. I could go on and on. I wish I could stay forever! This was our second time in 6 months… I will be back!

Read a good amount of positive and negative reviews before making reservations. Read a lot more negative reviews afterwords and I feel it necessary to tell of our experience. I'm sure there was/is merit to some of the negative ones however, we're having a blast! Granted, the resort is not the Hilton, but it's not Jerry's Oceanside Beach Shack either. Clean room, super friendly and helpful staff, great amenities. Its not modern but we weren't looking for anything ritzy. I'm glad we went with our gut and kept the reservation, great trip to Myrtle Beach!

We stayed at Compass Cove last week. It was our second time staying here. The first time, we enjoyed our stay so much which was the reason we booked this time. Needless to say, this time was not that good. Housekeeping did not come to our room the entire 4 days we were there. We had to call the front desk to see if they were coming. On our 1st day, we left the room around 10am and did not return until 4pm and no one came to change trash or towels. The 2nd day I saw a housekeeper on the hallway approximately 5pm and she exchanged the towels and emptied the trash. The third day, I called the front desk to see of housekeeping was coming and someone came up approximately 5:30pm. We mentioned to the front desk and they were very apologetic and offer a small refund for housekeeping services. I may consider Compass Cove again but this certainly turned me off.

Not a bad place. Definitely served its purpose. We had a bit of an issue with the language barrier between us and one of the exchange students they hired regarding the cleanliness of our rooms but management was more than accommodating. The ocean front view is awesome. The breakfast wasn't bad at all either. We had a lot of young children and they had a blast from sun up to sun down.

No relaxation. Some would’ve been happy to have a room that opens up to the pool however we wanted our privacy. When you book a room that says ocean front you expect to be able to have your blinds open at least. This was not possible because we’d have everyone at the pool staring st us in our room. Furthermore the hotel refused to move us and continued to sell rooms to patrons walking into the hotel. Careful what they give you.

We just left today and I will say I was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews. The rooms are a little dated but they are clean and more spacious than I anticipated. The hotel staff was very polite and accommodating with any of our needs. Check in did seem hectic, but we were in our room within 20-30 minutes. It was nice being able to enjoy the multiple pools which accommodated everyone in our family from ages 2 to 61. I would definitely recommend this resort to others and hope to bring my family back soon!

We had a king suite. The ocean view off the balcony was amazing. The room was just okay not so bad that we would not stay there again but nothing special. Some stains on the furniture and the night we checked in there was no Linen or towels in the room had to call room service to have them bring them up. The breakfast buffet in the on-site restaurant was $10.99 but we do not believe it was worth quite that much. Had good service and friendly staff though. The parking at Compass Cove is definitely inadequate and has a lot of sketchy people standing around after Dark.

My family and I have enjoyed our stay here. The staff is amazing! The resort offers such for kids as well. You can always find something to do! The rooms are very clean. Overall it's a really great place to stay, especially for the price!

We had such an amazing time this past week. We stayed an extra night because we didn't want to leave. We are so in love with the hotel and all they have to offer. There was not a single space outdoor left open. The entire property was full of entertainment and for all ages. 3 outdoor pools, 3 lazy rivers, 3 hot tubs, 2 kiddie areas, one amazing indoor pool with 2 big slides and 2 jacuzzi's! The outdoor bar was so convenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious! This was the perfect vacation for my family of 8. We loved the 3 bedroom condo. The only problem we had was with both toilets. We will be back! Next year we will bring our own plungers! Thank you Compass Cove for a great vacation! Can't wait to see you again next year!

They hotel was great, didn't have any loud neighbors and rooms was clean. Didn't find any bed bugs or cockroaches, my only concern was the dirty murky pool and lazy river and jacuzzi. It would be questionable if It passed a health code but HOWEVER we didn't go for the pools and when in Rome. Get a beer and put your toes in the sand and enjoy!

This is a hotel/motel in one. Please be careful when booking online because I had no idea we were staying in the motel with ocean front. I would have rather been in the hotel but once we got here everything else was booked. Our fridge wasn’t cooling or freezing but a very nice gentleman came to fix that. Our Wi-Fi wasn’t working and he fixed that as well. Most employees are nice. Room is nice for a motel. Only a fridge, microwave and sink. Has a coffee maker. I’m sure the hotel would be way better room wise.

I highly recommend compass cove resort! Me and my family (me, husband, 6 year old, and 22 year old) went on our first family vacation here and it was paradise! The only thing I would change next time (and there will be a next time) is I wont bother renting a car. They have everything you need right there and if you do need to venture they will take care of your needs. The staff was awesome, the room was perfect, very clean, very comfortable, very affordable. Very very impressed!

We stayed here during Bike Week in May 2018. It was just OK. It's a nice resort, but a little dated. The house keeping staff left quite a bit to be desired. If I'm out of the room for 6-7 hours a day at the pool/beach, it would seem that my room could be cleaned; I'm not even talking a complete clean, but drop some new towels and take out the trash. This "cleaning" didn't happen 4 of the 6 days we were there. I guess I just expect a better maid service for the money we paid. The staff was just OK as well. They handled our requests, but didn't seem very happy or and weren't very polite while doing it. There's a parking garage, but due to Bike Week, the bottom floor was blocked for the motorcycles. Now, I have a Harley and I ride, so I get it, but they most definitely need more parking, as several times we had an issue finding where to park. So again, it was OK, but for the price I expected more.

We have come to Compass Cove twice and love it! We drive all the way from New York, non stop. We are coming down again this year and bringing our in laws! The kids love the lazy rivers, but what we like most is the Ocean! I do not get why people complain about the rooms being dated and what not. 99% of the time we are out enjoying what Myrtle Beach has to offer!

Family oriented resort with three different buildings to stay in. Lots of water features, activities and on site eateries. Airport shuttle makes getting here easy and staff is friendly. Liked our hotel style room as it was oceanfront and lots of elevators made it easy to get around. Too many non-resort people on property and no real response from staff when alerted. Can be noisy and raucous but it's super fun.

Nice rooms and location but had to call to get room cleaned, they only came twice in 7 days. Had to call to get toilet paper, had to call for clean towels. Then they asked for a tip from good service?! Front desk associates not trained and lacked customer service. 3 problems before I even checked in (due to rooms not being cleaned). The amenities are there but not maintained well. Zero towels for the pool and hot tubs, but that's only if you want to swim with things floating around. The staff walk with purpose but seems nothing gets done.

This was our 3rd time staying at Compass Cove, and we drove 17 hours from Northern Michigan for our family vacation. We received an email regarding check-in, stating that the room would be available as early as possible but NO LATER THAN 3PM. When we arrived at 3 for check-in, we were told that our room was not ready and that they would call us as soon as it came available. We did not get the call until 5pm, and the front desk was unapologetic, stating that “if we read the fine print” on their website we would know that check-in time is not guaranteed. We were exhausted from our drive and needed showers before our dinner reservations, but housekeeping had not left any towels in our room, as well as other basic toiletries and necessities for our kitchen unit. We called the front desk to request towels, but after waiting for an hour for them to arrive, we ultimately left for dinner without receiving them. Upon our return, there was a garbage bag outside of our room that was filled with 6 hand towels and 8 wash cloths. We got our family ready for swimming, and went down to enjoy the indoor lazy rivers, which was the reason we have visited this resort before, and why we came again. We had previously enjoyed and appreciated all of the indoor water amenities and this was the factor that kept us coming back.

We stayed over April vacation (from New England)! which meant the resort was not busy, we had a 2 bedroom that slept 8. The place was pretty dated but it was clean and the staff was very nice. The pools were the main attraction for my 3 kids 6, 6, 8. We will go back again next year.

When we go to myrtle beach this is always where we stay! There are many reasons. I went one time while pregnant. I was always throwing up if something hit me wrong. I booked online and didn't realize the room selected was overt the crows nest. Yikes! The smell of grease while my husband couldn't smell it a pregnant woman could and I felt like throwing up. I told the front desk this and the gentleman was very sympathetic. They sadly didn't have any of that style rooms open though. But this didn't stop them. They upgraded our room type at no extra charge! I didn't throw up any and had a great trip before my DD was born. We will go back with her because they have great kiddie pools and activities. Best place we have been on the strip of myrtle beach!

Not impressed, following our visit we were asked to complete a survey so we did, and we were very thorough so that management would be aware. They responded by asking for another review. So obviously no one read the first one.

I've stayed here a few months ago with my husband and we loved it. Decided to come back next weekend with our kids. I paid my deposit and received the confirmation email which at the time didn't look right (it said I owed over $400 which I knew I only owed a little less than $200) but I paid it no mind. Received another email today saying the same thing. I called today and spoke with Ms. Barbara Randolph (I hope I got her name right). She confirmed what I owed (less than $200) and told me the email shows the price minus the promotional offer which is why it said I owed the higher price. She then took the time to ask me a few questions and found me a better rate (over $100 less than what I was going to pay) and then explained why paying the extra 40 for the accidental coverage would be better than having the $100 security deposit hold on my card so I agreed to pay for that. After this call and my last visit, I can't wait to come next weekend. This resort has always been overly friendly and it is much appreciated.

Excellent Hotel for holidaymakers.

Check in staff was nice, prepared and professional. Parking was great. Room was clean and very tidy. Resort has many amenities. Swimming pool were in top shape as well as all the community bathe facilities. Breakfast at hotel was delicious and the several local delivery establishments we chose we fast and have left me without any complaint. Overall Satisfied family of 5

Fantastic hotel with amazing amenities! We loved it so much we went twice last year. The children and adults loved the slides and the food from all hotel areas is delicious! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved our room too!

Good middle class hotel with light restoration needs. Suite with kitchen on the eighth floor overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Balcony to the sunrise side. Ideal for small families in summer. Own indoor pool with hot Tubs and the like. Very friendly staff.

We stayed this past December and I wasn't going to write a review but after reading reviews of others, I figured I needed to agree with this nasty place. When we checked in and got to out room it wasn't cleaned. We had a pet friendly room and you could see dog piss on the furniture. Cockroaches crawling on the counter and coming out of the sink drain. We had to change rooms and the next room wasn't clean either. I had to ask for clean sheets. The towels hanging in the bathroom looked like someone wiped Cheetos all over them. There was pubic hair in the refrigerator. I took pictures of all this and I made a complaint, but no one responded so I never got to show the pictures to them. Also while in the hot tubs there were cockroaches crawling all around and on the walls. We went for my child's birthday but will NEVER return!

It was great few days I spent in that resort. Beautiful ocean view. Spacious room and balcony. Kitchen. Was great to be able to bring a little dog with us. I did not find any good food option inside resort. Anyway, I would highly recommend.

We had a great experience here! The front desk people were great, the room was clean with a great view, multiple indoor pools and indoor and outdoor hot tubs. 2 lazy rivers too! Great deal for the price we paid. Would definitely return again.

We were in an ocean view room and the room was great. The room was very clean and they have some necessities like a microwave and mini fridge. This was the least expensive vacation I have been on and it was money well spent. If we are able to afford it I would definitely go back in the summer.

We stayed here the last 4 nights. Very family friendly. Indoor water parks and hot tubs. Kids will love it. You really do not have to leave the resort. They serve all meals and great beach access. Well worth the money.

My family and I have stayed at Compass Cove for more than twenty years and totally loved the place for lots of reasons. The last two trips we made were not the best. The first occasion we checked in at 7:30 pm and our suite had not been cleaned. The second occasion was the very last time we will ever stay there. This past Easter my vehicle was opened and money was stolen, but I was not aware of it until I had left. The second part of why I will never return here is maid service stole, there is no other word for it, she took my grandsons $125 tennis shoes. We discovered this as we were leaving. I didn't want to accuse her in case they were packed in another bag. I called back to the "resort " after we got back home. I explained the problem to who ever I talked to. She wanted to know why I didn't report anything when I checked out. I explained I was not aware of the money being taken until after I left. I asked if they could check their tapes and see who broke into my vehicle. I also told her I didn't want to make a false accusation not knowing for sure until we got home the shoes were stolen. She told me they would review the security tapes and call me back within 48 hours. That phone call never has been made. I will NEVER return.

The amenities are great! Lots of swim areas, hot tubs and a lazy river. Penthouse suite is roomy with a large kitchen area and two large bedrooms. Double wide balcony is a great place to watch the sun rise and spot dolphins occasionally. The Crows Nest is a nice comfortable place for a light meal and a drink with an ocean view.

I can't remember the last time I wrote a negative review, so let me start by saying: I'm not a troll lurking in the darkness trying to suck readers into my vortex of negativity. Quite the contrary; I consider myself a positive person, but based on several of my observations while staying at Compass Cove, I could not hold back from writing a review. Perhaps this review will save you, the good-willed consumer, from experiencing the same disappointment that I faced. I'll be brief. Cockroaches Poor house-keeping These disappointments in themselves do not warrant a negative review, no, not at all. This negative review gets its merit based on Compass Cove's response when confronted about them. Poor house-keeping: While checking in, I observed a young family checking out. The wife was discussing some of their grievances with the front desk staff, and I happened to overhear that the housekeeping came once during their entire stay. The hotel clerk made excuses and offered explanations before finally apologizing and offering the customer an ambiguous discount if they ever want to "try" their resort again. Yes, the clerk used the word try. I think it went like this, "Here's my card, if you ever want to try us again, give me a call and I'll give you a discount. " It was difficult to listen to, and I only hoped that what I witnessed was an anomaly and perhaps would not occur to us. Well, it did. Housekeeping did show up, they made the beds, but that was it.

I loved this place. For the money this was an amazing experience. I loved parking and riding the elevator straight up to my room. All hotels should adopt this feature. Awesome. We stayed in the Mariner building and everything looked great. There are so many pools to pick from, including 2 indoors pools since you can use everything at the Pinnacle building. 3 lazy rivers, a dozen hot tubs. Free movie rentals, a bar, and 2 restaurants. This place was amazing. Also. We got perks like free passes to certain attractions. We stayed in a 3 bedroom unit and the kitchen had all the essentials. Loved it! We're coming back next year!

Very nice and clean but rooms and hall smelled like cigarette smoke it didn't bother me much as a former smoker but my husband wasn't happy about it. The parking situation was tricky. There is a garage attached to the building easily accessible but it fills up quick especially at night and on the weekends, overflow parking garage is just across the street not a bad walk but there is no elevator in the garage across the street. Hallways will make you think you are walking in a old apartment building but the rooms are very nice. Staff is friendly and breakfast was great. Be prepared for a wait to be seated for breakfast. Multiple pools, and very easy beach access. I will be booking again. Do not use the app it doesn't work for check in.

This was our family's 1st time at Compass Cove, September 2017 and we couldn't of asked for a better vacation rental! The staff was extremely helpful and very pleasant. My child is 14 months & my nephew is 6 years old the amenities for them were fantastic! As for the adults the pools & lazy rivers along with the 2 hot tubs were great (also kid friendly). I certainly recommend them to anyone with children or without. One nice touch is they have beach towels available all day long at no coast and they wash! The beach access is very easy and the Lifeguard is stationed right there, a lot of honey holes for shark teeth finding too! We certainly will be booking again for 2018 and we plan on making it a tradition.

We were set to check in at 3pm on a Sunday but it was closer to 5:30 before our room was ready. The pictures on their website must be from many years ago as the place is run down and could use a major face-lift. Our main reason for choosing this "resort" was because of the kids pool but unfortunately it was closed for an entire day during our stay. The room was okay and relatively clean, just really dated. On the morning of checkout, the elevators were down and the fire department was on site to fix them. Since we were on the 10th floor, we had to wait for them to be fixed before we could leave. Even after the fire department eventually left, only 2 of the 4 elevators were working and it took a very long time for an elevator with any available space to stop by on floor. We also requested a pack-n-play for our infant to sleep in but we never received it, thankfully we brought a small collapsible bed of our own to use. We just felt a bit deceived by the way the "resort" is described online. Overall, it seems like North Myrtle is the place to stay as all of regular Myrtle Beach has attracted a lot of trash and nothing appears to have been updated in over 20yrs.

I have to say I am very disappointed the way everything went about during our stay there. We checked in at 4:30 pm. When we made it to our room, we find that there is cigarette burn that was on our comforter and through the sheets. We called the guest services to get it fixed and they said a manager will call in 10 minutes. 25 minutes went by and no phone call back. Finally, we got a phone call back and the manager said he would send some right over to change the sheets. 30 minutes pass by and the person finally shows up, but they show up with a fleece blanket! They said they would return and bring us new sheets. 6:30 came by and they still hadn't shown up. We were done waiting to we left. When we got back at 3am, NO ONE had ever returned to change the sheets. On top of that, I pull to shut the curtains and a LIVE cockroach comes out. We had to sleep there that night because there was one one at the front desk. We eventually got a room change the next day at like 1pm but they gave us attitudes. The managers were given us attitudes as if we were the problem. I was so infuriated. They put us at a huge inconvenience and they didn't care. They acted like it was our fault. When we made it to our room, we noticed we had no hand towels nor wash cloths. We called just to get 2 wash cloths. IT TOOK THEM AN HOUR! I'm so disappointed with customer service, cleanliness, punctuality, respect, etc. The money that we paid for to stay here was not worth it.

Our room at affordable family resort, (which is owned by Compass Cove across the street) was very dirty and we found roaches on the wall and kitchen counter. This was the weekend of the eclipse and were unable to book a room anywhere else. When I brought this to the attention of the representative at the front desk she was very rude. We were able to move to a different room in the hotel but were then over charged by $277. Again when dealing with the staff about the charges I was told it was not their problem and would need to call my bank. After hours on the phone we determined that the hotel was at fault and had to have them fax paperwork to get the refund. The staff was very rude and acted like we were bothering them. In addition many amenities advertised were not available at this hotel. The slides on the side had been closed for years and there was no breakfast or working Wi-Fi. We had a terrible time at this hotel and would never go back or recommend anyone ever stay here.

Disgusting hotel! looks nothing like pictures and pictures look at least half decent! i stayed in the pinnacle part. The only positive thing was that it was oceanfront and I had an oceanfront room. There were roaches and palmetto bugs EVERYWHERE even inside the hotel rooms. You had to wait forever for the elevators. The chair in the room was broken. We had to ask for towels/washcloths. There was no shampoo and conditioner it was a "shampooing conditioner" in one bottle. I called the front desk before I stayed there and she said they had plenty of shampoo AND conditioner. (which you had to ask everyday for) There were ants and other creatures in the rooms. There were crumbs on the counter/refrigerator/microwave etc. (not from us) There were stains on the curtains and carpet. We asked for a thorough clean of our room because it was disgusting and there was stickers from food and suntan lotion on the wall. (not from us) It was still no different after the clean. I was disgusted after this hotel stay for a week. This hotel was the nastiest hotel I have ever stayed in!

We was only able to get one parking pass with two vehicles When we checked in to the room and got to it someone else luggage was in the bed room. We only got one pot to cook in. Rooms were not clean. Food from the Crow's Nest took one hour and thirty minutes to come out not to mention it was cold when it did. My son got a milk shake with his supper it was made from crushed ice and chocolate syrup. Toilet was stopped up twice. The mattress on the couch bed was worn out and I mean worn with Springs coming through the fabric. The Murphy bed had a big void in the middle of it. House keeping never came in the room. Only had half a roll of toilet paper when we got in the room. One of the dinning chairs was broken. Kitchen sink water temperature was set backwards (hot was cold and cold was hot)

It's just ok. This is the third time I've stayed here and will probably be my last. Parking is absolutely horrible, there were no carts to bring our luggage up, we had to carry it all from the car to the 8th floor. When asking staff for a cart they were not helpful or showed any customer service. In general there is not a high level of customer service or interest in paying customer's experience. I paid 2k and that was about the only concern staff had with us. For 2k, I feel like the quality and experience could be much better. So in short the experience is… meh. Also, the type of people staying here has changed a lot. Loud music with a lot of cursing, a lot of screaming and performing at the pools and parking lots, basically people that don't know how to act or never been to a hotel better than a Motel 6.

The pools, indoor and outdoor, worked great for us along with the easy beach access. Wi-Fi was spotty at best. Our condo/room was as we expected. Staff is friendly. Kids like the outdoor shuffleboard and big checker board. I like the laundry room.

We had a great visit to Compass Cove. The room was much better than expected with a full kitchen and pull-down bed in the living area. We were on the 12 floor with an awesome ocean-front view of the beach. The staff were all very helpful and nice. The lazy rivers and pools were great also. The only problem was the time spent in the very crowded, hot elevators. They need to put the fans back in, or install some sort of ventilation. Overall, a great resort.

Made a reservation for a room that sleeps at least 4! Was told the room had 2 queen beds! Room had a smell when we arrived and the carpet was torn away from the wall! That I could deal with but what I couldn't deal with was full size beds! No hotel should ever allow full size beds, because no two adults can sleep in a full size bed comfortably! 4 nights with no sleep! It was a father's day vacation for me and my two sons, so I made the best of it, but I won't ever stay here again! Just say the room sleeps 2 and not 4!

The pools were being worked on during our first nights stay, fixed quickly although still a disappointment, the clerks were great but don't expect to ask for anything and get service quickly, or at all, it's about 50/50 on that. The beds were hard but I have had harder. Also, no room service unless calling. With that being said the view was great, lots of activities, great location, over all a good stay.

The resort was within expectation. It is a wonderful place for vacation. Me and my family had a good time in the resort and satisfied with most services offered, however, we did not like the long lines of checking in, the resort has to do something about that. There was a coffee maker but leave you no coffee in the room unfortunately, so we had to buy it from them, " seriously!, even the worst hotel I have been in offers complimentary in room coffee. Also one more thing we did not like is the lazy rivers were unsupervised at all times, somebody has to control the use of these wonderful rivers the resort has, many guests, especially kids are using them as swimming pools which is not appropriate and bothers other river users. All employees we interacted with were outstanding. We requested some room supplies, and some maintenance services and they were excellent, and on time.

We lived out a nightmare there from May 26 — May 31, 2016. I'm in a power wheelchair and told the hotel that when me and my wife booked to stay. On their Web Page they show you beautiful pictures of the rooms but after you've already placed a deposit of 166.47 on your card that's none refundable after you get there your rooms aren't as they have you think by the ones they show and you don't get your deposit back before you go nor if you don't like the room after you check in. Housekeeping is bad also. We had to stay but all housekeeping done was take out your garbage bags. No beds change or any other things cleaned. You aren't told that a wheelchair can't go out on the balcony because of the step over at glass doors after paying 1, 400.00 for rooks so small it's hard enough for people walking around can't hardly turn around. At booking you aren't told any of this or about those big bugs that comes under your doors and you wake up with them sleeping with you. My poor wife and our friend tripped over that step over at door and my wife broke her left hand. We called to have a report filled out concerning it and a staff member did come but only wrote down on a pad he had in his pocket but no Report Form was filed. A manager did call about it but when we ask for a copy of the report from the manager we were told that it was in the system and we couldn't get a copy. The truth came out at check out time on the 31st as we were checking out at desk.

First time at Compass Cove and property was huge! Room was okay, met our needs but the "oceanview" wasn't what we expected. Didn't really see the ocean from our room or the beach for that matter. No coffee for the coffee maker or anything to go with it. We got all shampoos and no conditioner or lotion for the room. Their restaurant is a glorified continental breakfast that you pay for. There's only like 3 things more/different from your standard continental breakfasts that you don't have to pay for. We were disappointed in that. The buffet for breakfast was $10.99 which we thought was a rip. Access to the beach was easy, parking was easy. We didn't get to see/do much more on the property since we were only there 2 nights. The only piece of advice I can offer is to NOT go during bike week or any part of it. The bikers have no respect whatsoever for anyone but themselves and their biker friends. Revving their bikes, blaring their crappy music and overall being disrespectful. We were woken up by the bikers on all 3 mornings and it was rough. Overalll, we will probably be back and getting a different view room.

Overall good place… but the Wi-Fi, while free, is useless. Technical details: 80-90% packet loss on both Wi-Fi and through the wired connection. You would be lucky to actually lost a wtb page, this level of connection issues caused most browsers to give up. If it's a rainy day, don't count on the Wi-Fi. (I have 15+ years IT experience, there is a fundamental problem with their network)

This hotel is nice in regards to physical appearance. Clean rooms, soft beds, cable TV. Indoor and outdoor pools. It is right on the beach. However, the customer service is horrible. Not only did they have one person checking in guest at 2:30 in the afternoon, but other guest service employees were standing around laughing and having personal conversations. The check in experience was the worst. They should have been prepared. It took 30min. My room was not ready until 4:00. At check in she told me she would call me when it was ready and never did. Then she manage to mistakenly give my room to another guest and I had to be placed on the first floor. She admitted her mistake but try to convince me it was better. This hotel does not have "Sleeping in or do not disturb" door signs. So house keeping knocked on our door every 10 mins from 8 o'clock to 10:50am. Even though we kept telling them were would be out by 11. They literally kept knocking over and over and over every 10min. I would not stay at this hotel again. Even though it is a nice looking hotel the customer service and housekeeping lost me as a customer.

We arrived late and person who checked us in gave us a hard time about a deal we had. We have been coming back here for 15 years and almost didn't give us 12 breakfast passes that was promised when making reservation. We had to prove we were offered this. I don't have a problem with having to prove it but you would think it would be in computer. This place is very family-friendly and nice staff. What I have noticed in the pass few years is we have to call down more often than we ever did to have the room serviced late when we get back. No one shows up at all. Those are the only 2 things that I have a problem with. They try to make it a nice atmosphere they just need to get rid of the few rotter apples they have working for them. This trip is making us look into other places.

Awful just awful we reserved one type of room and we were put in something different than the room that I had reserved. I was told there were no other rooms available and what I was in was the same room which it wasn't. There was no shampoo in the room no coffee in the room even though the room had a kitchenette. When I asked for coffee I was told by the night manager we don't do that. It took an hour to get some shampoo from the front desk. The night manager was very rude when I had a question and then yelled at everybody else waiting to check in that they needed to see the next person in line so he could go get me shampoo which he never did a maid brought it. I heard him on the phone at the front desk talking to a lady who's room was not clean when she checked in. I have been in the customer service industry for over 25 years and have never heard anyone be as rude to a customer as he was. The parking at the property is awful we had to park on one end and walked in the rain. It is very loud the walls are very thin so you hear the people in the Next Room and up and down down the Halls all night long. The housekeeping staff were so nice I feel so sorry for them having to work under this tyrant of a manager.

I stayed in Compass Cove for 5 month during the winter months and absolutely loved it. I had a one bedroom suite that was tastefully decorated and beautiful oceanfront views. Staff was professional, helpful always and so friendly. Lot of pools, and hot tubs and great children's area. 2 restaurants with wonderful breakfast buffet and great food and drinks specials at Crows next! Danielle is the best waitress!

I'd give The Compass Cove 5 stars had the check in experience been pleasant. It was unfriendly and not at all helpful. However, with that being said the resort is full of fun for the kids which was awesome. My room was clean and nice and I liked the décor. The view from my room was a big 10. All the staff (EXCEPT FOR THE FRONT DESK at check in only) was super friendly and very helpful. I have already recommended this Resort to other friends. It's super fun!

My husband and I spent a week there recently. It is a dated hotel. I hesitate to call it a resort. Housekeeping never came to our room. They cleaned the rooms on each side of us every day. The bathroom was small. Bedding was comfortable and had a full size refridgerator. The indoor pool area is nice but the floor is slippery. We saw a man stepping off the bridge that goes to the hot tub, fall, injuring his elbow. My husband fell near the same place the next night breaking his toe. There are a lot of elderly snowbirds staying there and could easily fall breaking more than a toe. The parking deck is not for the modern day vehicles. Small spaces. Only four handicap parking spots. Parking spaces are tight. Our room was large with a very comfortable chair. Beach was clean. All rooms have private balcony.

I brought my family here for a weekend getaway and it was more than I expected. The room was clean the bed was so comfortable. The view was Beatuiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. I have made this getaway a yearly event this was our third year and this Resort was the Best. So next year and so on it will be here! See yall next year…

We did a mini girl's getaway. We stayed in the Pinnacle building and everything was wonderful. Danny P (the bartender) she was wonderful and she even sang for us. We even met Deandra the building Manager and she made sure we were taken care of. She personally made sure we had enough towels, and bed linen. We really enjoyed our stay and we will be returning soon.

My family went to Myrtle Beach for my daughters birthday and chose Compass Cove for their indoor water amenities as well as price. We stayed in a 3 bedroom ocean front condo for approximately $100 and couldn't be more pleased. The condo was spacious with an updated full kitchen and gorgeous view. If I had anything negative it would only be that the condo smelled freshly painted and was very strong. Otherwise, great stay, friendly staff, and lots of fun.

A great place to stay at Myrtle Beach. It really cannot be beat for the price and for what you get. Very family friendly with lots of amenities. We returned for our second trip in late September. We had some cloudy days and some rain on one day. It was a nice touch that the indoor pool and lazy river, as well as the water slides, were HEATED! The rooms were clean for Myrtle Beach standards, the appliances worked, and the furniture in our room was in good shape. A great experience.

The pools were OK and so was the beach access. I also liked the fact we were aloud free DVD rentels. The rooms were large enough to sleep four separately. The sheets were not the cleanest and our toilet kept running. There was not enough parking in the two main parking garages, and we had to park across the street. Overall the rooms are OK for the price.

This place was okay for the price. Everything was fairly clean, but furniture and decor seemed to be outdated and old. The carpet was not bad, but there was about a 9" red stain on the floor by the bed. The comforters did not seem to be worn out, but I would have preferred a fluffy, clean smelling white comforter that most renovated hotels use. All in all, not bad if you are trying to keep a low budget.

If you read positive reviews of this hotel they must be done by the owner. The rooms smelled two different kinds of terrible depending on where you were in the rooms. The beds were way below average. The street noise and parking garage noise was just shy of unbearable. Half the electrical outlets in the room didn't work. Several of the light bulbs were burned out. Don't be sixty second late checking out because they turn the room key off right at checkout time. This could pose a problem if you are in the process of packing the car and you don't have all your luggage out of the room. Never again for this place. Hotels should provide at least a minimum level of service. This one fell very short of that. If you are on the fence about this hotel. You have probably read lots of good reviews to every bad one. Don't book this room. This is not going to be a good experience. The positive reviews have got to be bogus to offset the negative reviews from actual guests. I disliked this place so badly I wrote my very first review of a hotel. To be fair I will give this place it's due. The lazy river was cool. There, it does have one redeeming quality. Visit the lazy river but don't try to sleep here.

Never again. The beds and pillows were horrible, felt like sleeping on box springs, very uncomfortable. My family and I stayed in the Schooner building this past weekend for our vacation. The room was very small, carpet was dirty, shower had black hairs in it. The sink for the bathroom wasn't even in with the bathroom, it was outside of it next to the kitchen. The kitchen was very small and didn't come with much cookware. The room had an old musky smell. The dining table was broken, had to get maintenance to come fix it. The stove didn't work properly, the outside handle to the balcony was broken and the oven light didn't work. The parking deck was next to our room which was very noisy. The pools, lazy rivers and waterslides were fine. The exercise room was very clean and useful. Breakfast is not included, you have to pay $10 a person which is crazy. As much as you have to pay for the room, breakfast should be included. Housekeeping was terrible. The front desk was not very helpful. First and last time staying here. I do not recommend it.

Awful. Though we checked in at 11:30am, when we were finally able to get keys to our room 4 hours later it was directly in front of the elevators. Even less pleasing was the carpet, which was sticky, and the fact that only one of us was able to connect to Wi-Fi at a time. The next day we were out of the room from morning until around 5:00pm, returning to find that housekeeping services had not yet been to our room. When someone finally came by the explanation was "Oops, thought someone else was going to do it. " We didn't feel like leaving again so I just requested new towels, shampoo and conditioner. She gave me shampoo and body lotion, explaining that they had no conditioner but if I wanted I could try the lotion in my hair. Meanwhile we discovered that though we had previously paid in full through a travel site, Compass Cove had additionally charged us the full amount. Upon checking out we inquired, and the front desk attendant informed us that it was a mistake, and while not apologizing said it would be refunded in a few days. After waiting a few days, we discovered that not only were we not refunded, the charges had later been applied TWICE more. Do not stay here.
