The pictures are extremely deceiving. They must have been from when the establishment was first opened because it looked nothing like the photos. It says kid friendly, but if you have a child that’s able to walk/open a simple door, there is no lock to keep the child in. It’s as simple as turning the knob and the door opens, even if you’ve locked it from the inside. Had to have maintenance come to the room and add the slide lock to the top of the door so my children were not able to just walk out of the door. Have to say this was one of my least favorite and scariest visit to a hotel. Only good things I can say was they gave me fresh towels and were polite at the front desk.

I read the reviews before booking and I still gave it a chance. I'm glad I did! Our room is oceanfront with a great view. The room is clean and beds are comfortable, of course there are always thing that can be done. The only negative I have is no toaster. No bugs! I would recommend this motel.

My in laws have been staying at Bermuda Sands for years (they love cheap deals). I haven't personally been to Myrtle in many years so I thought why not give Bermuda Sands a try? We arrived late on Thursday 8/23 and had to wait a few moments as there were a lot of people checking in. The staff was very nice and friendly. They directed us to across the street parking which I expected being that this is still peak season. They gave us directions to our room, told us the pool hours, informed us of the free movies offered and let us know if we needed anything the front desk was available 24/7. We went to check out our room (322) and it was totally fine. I had read some of the reviews on here and expected the worst but the room was acceptable. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. Sure the ceiling could use some paint and maybe the room itself isn't the most luxurious but to be honest I had no complaints! If you are looking for an economical hotel to basically sleep and shower so you can hit the beach up this place is a great option! I would definitely stay here again and I love how pet friendly they are so I will most likely be back with my dog in tow next time!

We have stayed here two years in a row now and this hotel isn't great but yet It's not bad. It's needs a little updating but if you're on a budget and want a great location then this place is good. We can get an oceanfront room for 5 days for around $570. I don't really have any complaints other than parking and some of the dumbasses who stay here. I would recommend but if you're on budget you really have no room to be picky so keep that in mind.

Pet friendly, on the water, smoker friendly (just not in your room), fireworks Wednesday right in front of you, and a great value. This isn’t the Ritz, it’s Sands. I’ve had some very unique moments each time I’ve stayed. My last stay had a problem, but their staff smothered me with attention and they fixed it+ the next morning. I was already a customer 3 years in a row, now I’m a lifer. Sands is the fourth member of our trip and she always adds… something interesting to the mix. Not for everyone, you may see a bug or two: it’s myrtle in summer time though. If you’re a hostel/“roughing it” type than this actually will feel like Ritz. I’ll be back in summer 19. If $$ is tight get the pool facing or non ocean front. The hotel is right on the water, steps from the hotel. The inner facing pool over look is good for people watching and occasional random party when people on the overlook from diff groups start hanging out together. Happened to me! Last note: the folks who work here are really really great.

This hotel is rather run down. It may have been a great place in it's former years. Now you walk out the door that you have to pull closed behind you to make sure it closes and smell cigarette smoke everywhere including the elevator. Our room had holes in the bathroom door on both sides of the door. The jetted bath tub was not clean and the caulking was moldy and missing in many places, not to mention the back of the toilet was leaning to the right and looked like it was going to fall off. Our kitchen had the old stove with the coil elements on the top. There wasn't any soap, towel or dish cloth for the kitchen and there weren't many kitchen dishes, pots, pans or flatware. Everything in the room smelled like cigarettes and the beds weren't the worst I've slept on. The pool was the coolest thing about the hotel and the location next to the 2nd Ave Pier. The price was cheap enough to look past some of the inconveniences. I would recommend that you look somewhere else if you want cleanliness and more amenities.

I stayed at this place for not even 24 hours. The hallways were dirty. I came into my room and I saw this huge roach in here. The walls had holes in them. The toilets were super dirty. There were baby roaches near the toilets. This hotel/motel is disgusting. And I dont recommend anybody staying here. Only good thing about it is the view of the beach. Other than that, HORRIBLE.

My son cut his foot on glass in the carpet, almost as soon as we got there. We had only a spoon (unwashed, with food stuck to it), a knife, and a plastic fork, in the cutlery drawer. However, they addressed those issues promptly, when reported. I loved being able to have my large dog at the beach, so I know I'll visit this hotel again! The room was very beat up, but that didn't bother us. The pools and water play areas are decent. Not the best place but it was fine and I'll definitely stay again, just because it's dog friendly and reasonably priced and the staff are helpful and friendly.

Definitely not a "fancy hotel". The beds are not the most comfortable. The bathroom had stains along the shower and sink. But it had what we needed and I would stay there again. The pools were great… the cleaning ladies came every morning and asked what we needed. And it was right on the boardwalk by the ocean. It was overall a great experience.

Stayed one night here. Let us have our daughter's pet cat, which a lot of places around here don't allow. Room was two rooms separated by a kitchen. For the most part the room was clean. The air conditioner by the balcony leaked water like a faucet though, which made the room feel stuffy. Found a cockroach or two, but no more than that. Decent view of the ocean, which was nice. The room really wasn't worth the $100 ultimately. Four stars though because the main thing I didn't like was the price for a dumpy motel room, and for a second night they wanted close to $200.

Great location, our room was clean and cool when we got there. It was a Friday, they were crowded. There was trash at the side of the building, but pickup had not come yet. We were happy with our room, but there were people who weren't. They don't do refunds, so check it well before you book it. If you're picky about everything, don't stay here, if you can understand that they have people coming and going everyday and things get messed up and stuff happens. Especially when they're people who don't know how to pick up after themselves. The staff was very friendly to us. There were people checking right back out just after they checked in, rooms could use a little TLC upgrade. No refunds, so make sure you do your homework.

It was a good overnight stay, overlooking the beach, nice view, close to pier, they give you 20% coupon to use at Pier. The kitchenettes come in handy, all the dishes, glassware, pots, pans you need. Liked the Jacuzzi tub, nice and big. The beds were OK, not too soft. There was some improvements they could make in rooms to tiles etc. The staff at front desk very friendly, and very helpful. Nice little pool and kiddie pool out front, It was a good convenient place to stay for the price for us for one night.

You get what you pay for. Staff have been pleasant and helpful. We had a queen size bed with 2 flat pillows which sucked. No hairdryer in the room! Laundry room with coin laundry but no on grounds way to purchase laundry soap. We stayed ocean front on first floor, hand to hold breath from parking lot to room because the carpet smells like old dog urine. Location great. Bring your own coffee, filters and coffee cups, only thing provided is the coffee pot. Surface was clean but sure needs a DEEP DEEP cleaning.
