Review of John Rutledge House Inn 4*

We are Summerville residents who aren't too far away from Charleston, every so often we'll come down to the French Quarter and stay/play for a weekend — it's a privilege to be so close to so much history, world class restaurants and accommodations. We have and continue to see quite a lot and enjoy the unique experience Charleston has to offer. On suggestion of a great friend passing up through Hilton Head and into the Grand Strand, we settled on booking a couple of suites …at the John Rutledge Inn. He he his wife staying in the Carriage House, they had a well mannered puppy in tow with them, we booked a main suite, William Moultrie, so we had half of the main house. It was phenomenal. I can't say enough in the way of appreciation and gratitude we had to our amazing staff. From the ease of online booking, touching base with our amazing concierge, Jim (and then meeting the rest of our truly exceptional staff), upstairs hors d'oeuvre selection, a selection of sherry, porto, (and yes) we did tap into the Brandy before finding a cool spot on the balcony — the attention to detail and accommodation was truly remarkable. At my query — Jim booked us a table at 82 Queen for later in the evening, and we had a couple of warm up cocktails at Husk Bar before having dinner at the library at 82 Queen, afterward and well stuffed returning to turn in. Breakfast was served to our order through an extensive selection (we ordered eggs Benedict, with fruit, cereal, coffee and tea) and at the time that we requested which was later in the morning — a big thank you to the amazing staff in that regard for making it all perfect. In making a decision to plan our small getaway, we couldn't have been luckier to discover the John Rutledge, and the wonderful experience will be tough to beat even here in Charleston! For our next staycay in the next few weeks, I'm honestly most tempted to book in again and relive the experience all over again. This time — the George Washington suite next door, why not! A big thank you to our concierge team, Jim, Joseph, Margo, and John Rutledge staff. We'll see everyone again soon. We can't wait until then!
