My husband and I just spent a weekend at 22 Charlotte and WE HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Vaughn is the most precious and amazing Charlestonian and fantastic person! She’s so hospitable and made our experience the most memorable ever! She made us see and experience Charleston like never before! We cannot wait to go back!

Vaughn is a wonderful person and quintessential “hostess with the mostess! ” She serves a FULL southern breakfast every morning! It is so much food we rarely ate lunch while in town. The house is drop dead gorgeous, artfully decorated and filled with lovely antiques and family heirlooms. She shares a cozy living space if you want to spread out more. However, the spacious suites offer plenty of space all on their own. Vaughn treated us like family and ensured every need was not only met but exceeded! We enjoyed her two pure bred Siamese cats who were perfectly behaved and very quiet. We highly recommend her lovely B&B and will be back!

My wife and I found 22 Charlotte B&B online while searching for a convenient place to stay in Charleston. Our main requirements were that there were plenty of attractions within walking distance because we planned to either walk or use ridesharing. So far it has taken between 2 and 12 minutes for an Uber driver to pick us up, and we have walked to restaurants in about 10 minutes, and a Starbucks maybe 5 minutes walking away. It is a 20 minute walk to the historic city market, a 22 minute ride to Magnolia Plantation, and about 20 minutes to folly beach via uber. Parking generally seems limited downtown if you have a vehicle. Breakfast is awesome. My favorite so far was seasoned grits topped with cheese and a toasted croissant with a side of watermelon and freshly made coffee. It's enough so you can go for a trek with a full belly, but you don't feel sluggish. The house itself is more than 100 years old, and the bed is an old style canopy bed with the mattress 4 feet off the ground, but don't worry, as there is a stool provided if you need some assistance. There is a bathtub in the attached bathroom, but I was offered use of the shower outside of the room if I needed it. There also is a friendly 3 year old house cat that wanders the halls looking for chin scratches. At least from me. We have really enjoyed our stay so far, and recommend that you give them a shot.

It isn't a true Charleston visit if you don't stay in this beautiful southern home! Vaughn is so kind and welcoming and she sure does know how to cook a delicious breakfast! Highly recommend!

Lovely traditional B&B, Vaughn is very nice and helpful and also a fantastic cook! If you want the full southern Charleston experience this is where you should stay! Close to downtown too so it's very convenient!

A great value, an excellent location, a marvelous proprietor. Amazing breakfast, wonderful information about Charleston, spot-on recommendations. A bit of a walk to downtown, but we liked that — the inn is not in a high traffic area — it is quite peaceful. Short uber rides if you don't walk.

Beautiful and inviting home. Vaughn is so welcoming, helpful with recos and suggestions and full of southern hospitality — but not intrusive — she lets you do your thing. Her breakfasts are to die for! You won't leave hungry! Location is excellent — capable walking distance to historic market, French quarter and King street shopping district — far enough away to not be in the traffic, noise and bustle of those areas.

My wife and I could not have had a better experience or host. Vaughan was always accommodating with answers to our questions and on top of that served a delicious breakfast. Loved listening to her delightful stories told in a southern accent.  This is the B&B you need to stay in. I see why she's rated 2 out of the 40 b and b's in Charleston.

Vaughan is so accommodating! She was so attentive to us even prior to our arrival, making sure she knew when we would arrive, and whether we would need dinner reservations, etc. The house is stuffed with comfortable furnishings, rugs and draperies, and delicious smells when she is cooking breakfast! She took us on an hour-long tour upon our arrival, and showed us all the parts of town we would want to start with. Very helpful. Gave us a marked-up map and everything. She allows you to choose how much a part of your stay you want her to be. We enjoyed watching TV with her on the evenings when things were winding down. Breakfasts were delicious and ample, and our room was plush and cozy. I highly recommend it.
