Love this hotel, clean and convenient for my stay in Pittsburgh. However, when it comes to making a reservation, service is horrible. I’ve been staying there for several weeks. Due to my job. And place my reservations weekly. They do not make reservations at the desk. Which is fine. I book my reservations at the number of the Westin. Every time I check in, they can not find my reservation number. I have a bonvoy number, should not be that hard, right? But they have overcharged me at different Marriott’s for the same night. Sometimes they can find my name and info and sometimes they cannot. My bank statement shows they clearly charged me at two different hotels for the same night. Associate name Jose told me I would have to find info on my own. Really? Can anybody please help me. I explained to front desk I clearly made a reservation, I think it’s going to end up charging me twice, his response, he will take care of it. Low and behold he did not. However, I can’t say enough about Kelly Taylor, I messaged her yesterday. And she was on top of it. And finally found what nobody else could, nor did they want to. And she finally did get my account refunded. The reservation was placed under the name of I don’t know who. But that needs to be addressed in reservations. So with that said. I definitely give this place a 5 star recommendation. I will continue to stay here during my time in Pittsburgh. Thank you kelly taylor for all your hard work and help. I greatly appreciate it!

Just stayed for one night. Very thoughtful and helpful staff. We asked for extra pillows and room to be not be hot. Got everything we asked.

The Westin sits upon the banks of the river, in what is a spectacular cityscape, with plenty of food, music, and culture all within walking distance. It is centrally located in the heart of Pittsburgh. The staff have always been supportive and friendly.

Well Marriott Bonvoy says due to the virus outbreak we can cancel free of charge. Even tho I canceled in time I was still charged and it charged my checking account. Now I can't buy food tonite and am dealing with the virus outbreak. Shame on you westin pittsburg… you have really messed up my whole week.

We always love staying at the Westin. The showers are delightful with the waterfall shower head. And I always think the bedding and pillows are very comfortable. However, our room smelled musty and despite having the AC on the lowest it could go, it was at least 15 degrees cooler in the hallway. It was so bad that we had to keep the door to our room propped open most of the evening. I'm sure we'll be staying there again so we'll see if the issues persist.

Great customer service but disappointing beds for this caliber of hotel. Beautiful lobby (and a genuinely yummy restaurant) but our first room had drippy black mold in the ac vent and missing tiles in the bathroom. They switched us to another room and it was better but still, it seems ever so slightly run down. I would probably stay there again (great location and very few beggars around, nice shuttle available too) depending on the health of my back (argh darn squishy old beds! ) but definitely inspect things before you unpack.

Great hotel. The location sucks though. Lots of drugged out people roaming the streets. Reminds me of the walking dead. Also there is 3 gay bars down the block. So keep that in mind. The food is horrible as well. But the room itself is very nice.

Well-situated upscale hotel surrounded by a multitude of fantastic bars and restaurants within walking distance. Ample underground parking which isn't too costly, thank God. Room is a clean modern room, well-appointed but not exceptional by any means. It's comfortable and will do the trick helping you relax after your travels. The bed is actually pretty nice. I slept like a baby in my overnight business stay. Safes are included, along with the usual small amenities, fridge, no microwave though. I would stay again.

The rooms are great and spacious. I just wish I had a balcony. The shower head and wand are freaking awesome and the pressure is great. I have yet to order any room service or need anything from the front desk or management. I recommend this hotel.

Other than the elevators, this hotel is pretty solid. The decor is regularly updated. The lobby is nice, as are the on-site restaurants. The convention space is awesome. They have lots of conference rooms, and various panel rooms. The views are okay but not great. I'll be hear once in a while, but no every year.

Beautiful place to stay. Very accommodating changed our room next day upon request due to us choosing 2 beds in order to be on same floor as co workers. Beds were only full size instead of queens, so we got moved to King. Clean hotel. Corridor to convention center. Shuttle service to local shopping.

I have a king bed room at the Westin for the weekend. The hotel is beautiful and we'll located, with bars and restaurants every direction. The staff is spectacular.

I was in town for marathon and stayed from 5/5/18-5/6/18. As a race participant, I was highly disappointed with my experience this weekend. One of the main reasons I chose to stay here was the 24 hour room service. However, when I called to order room service at 5am on Sunday, I was surprised to be informed there was only a limited late night menu available with virtually no breakfast options, but basically bar food. The person I spoke to did not seem to know much of the available options either. As a runner, what I eat before a race is extremely important and I feel that I should have been notified of the limited options ahead of time or at the very least, the room service menu should be available for viewing before booking. I also received an email prior to check in listing the marathon weekend adjustments at the hotel restaurants. The e-mail stated that Starbucks would be opening at 5:00am on Sunday and Penn City Grille would have grab and go options available. It was 5:30am when I went to Starbucks and it was closed and there was not a person in sight to even give a hint that they would be opening. And the options available at Penn City were not exactly race day friendly breakfast items. Again, a menu to view ahead of time would have been extremely helpful. I tried to prepare myself as best as possible for this race and I did call ahead of time to make sure it was the best option for me during this weekend.

This Westin hotel is close to a lot of good options for food and entertainment. Rooms are clean, and up to the usual Westin standards. The restaurant attached to the hotel serves good food and drinks. 24 hour room service. Good option if you're in Pittsburgh.

Rooms are a decent size but seem a little over-used. Front desk staff seems constantly understaffed. 5 stars because the fitness center is the best that I have experienced outside of a resort. Has sauna, steam room, great lap pool as well.

My compsby hosted an event with 700 people and it went off without an use. They staff was very accommodating and the food delicious. I recommend this as an event space. There are so many rooms and resources to make your event a success. I'm glad to see this venue throbbing, as I've been going here for 20 years.

The Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh Hotel was a great stay for me during my convention. It connected directly to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center making travel back and forth a breeze. The service is exceptional with valet parking and room service for everything. If room service is not your thing, the restaurants (two) are very good.

Good amenities. Good gym facilities. Good service. Bills bar is a great hotel bar. Convenient location.

The service at the Westin is great. I was there visiting for an upcoming conference where we will be hosting technical sessions and ancillary meetings at the Westin, since it is connected to the Convention Center. The meeting rooms are nice and clean and the sleeping rooms we visited were up to par with what I would expect of a business hotel.

A friend invited me to a sunday morning brunch with 10 other car fans. Before the world of wheels. The people were so friendly. The food was great. I would go back. Anytime.

A very high end hotel. If you're going to stay in Pittsburgh & have the $ the West in is for you. A wonderful place with maybe the best views in the city. Request a room on the top floor & you will see some great views of Mt. Washington. Then for fun it's right beside the point state park. The park is a lovely place to visit. This is a 5 star place in every great sense.

Located in downtown Pittsburgh with free Wi-Fi and has a paid parking lot. The rooms are nice and good with great customer service. Food can be ordered to the room even late in the night. There is also a Bill's bar and burger downstairs. This place is really good for a quick business trip. This building absolutely has everything including a USPS store. There is an indoor pool and a fitness center.

The Westin is my favorite downtown hotel. The staff is always courteous and will accommodate special requests whenever they can. The rooms are clean and quiet. Many offer views of the river. I love the skywalk between the hotel and the convention center. The room service is good and the two restaurants are pleasant to visit. It is within walking distance of PNC, many restaurants, the Strip District, Market Square, and the theaters. It meets all our downtown needs.

Rooms and beds were nice. Service was good, and the provided breakfast and lunch were pretty good. Hot water was readily available and very hot. Convention rooms were also satisfactory. I would consider coming here again for an event that requires 60-80 people.

The hotel is conveniently attached to the convention center by an enclosed walkway and there are a nice candy shop, post office, and coffee shop in the corridor behind the lobby. Bill's Bar and Burger in the lobby was good and fairly priced. Overall I would suggest staying here for events in the convention center.

Westin is a good hotel chain, in general. Like all Westin this one was clean, sleek, modern and had a wonderful staff. We would definitely go back! Westin has a free shuttle. Shuttle drivers Tim and Bob were so helpful. We used the shuttle to go to PCN park, station square, the incline, the park at the point and to the strip. This hotel is perfectly located to see all. Went for weekend and could of stayed longer.

The location is spectacular. The rooms are clean and fairly sized. There are nice food options in the hotel, but even more I'm the surrounding area. The restaurants in the hotel served good food but weren't amazingly quick. I would absolutely stay here again.

Stayed here for a conference which is nice since there's a walkway connecting to the convention center. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is clean and the bed is very comfortable. Self parking is available in the basement garage however is not free. Valet parking is also available for a little more. It's a nice surprise to see a Starbucks store on site but it's a bit out of the way to get there.

We had called the night before we got a room to make a reservation. They assured us we would have a king premium room with a city view. We asked for a late check out and she said late check out would be 4. Great. So we arrive in Pittsburgh and upon entering the lobby, it is a beautiful scene. Really nice. We check in and arrive to our room, with 2 queen beds and river view. Go back down and they fixed our problem rather quickly. The rooms are a bit dated and dirty. The floor makes your feet completely black. Nice shower and bed though. Fast forward to the check out day and we went to confirm our late check out. They told us it wasn't possible without being charged for the whole night.

Visiting this convention center was a part of my first trip into the east coast, and I have to say that I absolutely loved it. I've never seen a center so vast and gigantic! There are four levels, each with 30 or so rooms and a gigantic ballroom outfitted with a stage and about 100 or so tables. And those are conservative estimates, there's probably WAY more tables and rooms. It's close to a river, with about 2 or 3 bridges in sight. The security and people I met were all incredibly helpful and nice. There were plenty of different sights to see for just one building. The most memorable parts had to be the glass elevator, and the pathway next to the driveways and entrances. It was surrounded by purple-lit falling water fountains. It led straight to a concrete dock of sorts where geese lounged and swam. It was so beautiful, I wish I could spend everyday there.

The location was great. We stayed there because it was close to the Pittsburgh Marathon. Service was excellent, but the price was a little high. We will happily stay there again next year, though because of the surroundings and because of the convenience. Our favorite part about the room was the waterfall shower head.

My friends and I use the hotel every year for an annual convention. This year was especially bad. We experienced some horribly discriminating staff. The date of our convention happened to cross with an upper-class event. This was not the issue. I have full understanding that they were doing their own thing and that some rooms would be off limits. The regular elevators/stairs were blocked off by rude staff throughout the event and everyone had to walk around the building so the people at the other event did not have to see the convention people. Intentionally segregating and inconveniencing people who paid to stay at their hotel is bull. Having to walk 5 minutes out of the way rather than let paying customers use the elevators with regular access to the room. They were rude, condescending and discriminating of who had access to the elevators. This was such a horrible experience.

Attended the JDRF Gala at the Westin and it was fabulous. The food was wonderful, they served filet minion with a light fish, risotto, and vegetables for dinner. The salad was served with a lily garnish, beets, and walnuts. The passed appetizers were also delicious and the staff was polite and attentive. I was impressed with the Westin and the event planners.

Gym: Fantastic — has steam room and sauna. Great amount of machines. Top tier for a hotel. Restaurant: Breakfast is pretty good, restaurant on main level is average. Location: Great — plenty of dining options near by, and very walk able area. Butcher in the Rye and Meat and Potatoes are great restaurants in the area Room: Beds were great, plenty of elevators. Staff: Top tier Overall: Building is a little older (80's) but all necessary updates have been made. Great stay. Travel Reason: Business — Frequent Traveler.

Great experience. I needed a pair of cufflinks last minute and to my surprise they had them in the gift shop. The room was immaculate and I would definitely recommend staying there. The only thing irritating is the elevators; we ended up waiting much longer than normal for them to arrive. Not a deal breaker at all though.

We stayed here for New Years Eve. We brought our grandsons ages 10 and 5. We had a wonderful time. The front desk people (Jason and Joey) were amazing. The hotel provides free transportation to places such as Carnagie Science Center. Charles our driver was awesome… went above and beyond. We are a delicious breakfast at hotel restaurant. Leatrice and Dee were wonderful as was Caitlyn. The inside pool was a big hit. The boys asked to go back to the Westin for spring break. Big thumbs up.

If you decide to book through a site like Travelocity, instead of through their site, be prepared to be treated like a 3rd rate guest. I requested a King size bed room, but was bumped to 2 doubles because they overbooked. Parking is $22 overnight on top of your room rate. The internet is crappy unless you want to pay extra for better service. The refrigerator in my room was locked. You have to pay extra for that. I told them there would be 2 adults, so they leave one complimentary bottle of water, but you have to pay for the second one. Prices for everything were through the roof, $5.50 for a glass of Orange juice, $6 for a yogurt. At 2:30am, my wife and I were awoken by a security guard in the hall talking on his radio. No security issues, he was just having a conversation. This was confirmed by the front desk the next morning when they explicitly told me there were no issues on my floor. When I called the front desk to complain, they told him to turn it down, which he did, but he didn't turn down the talk button beep. This went in until about 3:30. When I expressed my issue the next morning at checkout, they did refund my parking fee of $22. Next time, I think I'll go with a Holiday Inn. At least there, you don't get nickled and dimed.

Room was nice, but seemed to lack upkeep. The electrical outlets in the desk were loose and only worked part of the time. Thr power cord wouldn't stay in the tv, so it didn't work well. The room was clean. The elevator system was very efficient in the hotel. Very fast. Staff was nice.

New lobby/lounge area is fantastic. Water was overpriced in first floor shop. Everything else was great!

I really enjoyed my stay. I was here for business and the valet parking was very convenient and quick. The front desk service was very friendly and the walkway to the convention center was so convenient. The rooms were pretty normal, nothing too amazing, but the coffee shop and restaurants in the hotel were nice as well.

The westen just remodeled a bit. I didn't stay the night. We only in one if the conference rooms. This was for a Furry new year's eve party. The staff and Pittsburgh its self is for the most part welcoming to furries. Mainly the income that the group bring when anthrocon is in town.

The westin has great doormen, great valet service, very pleasant staff. The lobby is exquisite and the rooms immaculate! It's a very great place highly recommended.

The hotel is very modernized. The physical fitness center is everything you would find at a professional health club. Beautiful view of the city and great restaurant in the lobby. The Westin is always an excellent selection and in Pittsburgh it is no different.

We had a suite. The front desk staff was excellent. Especially, the gentleman by the name of Jason. He was very professional and friendly. Our suite was clean, nicely decorated and spacious. Parking was convenient. No complaints here. We will definitely still here again.

I've been coming here for years for Steelers games. The rooms are a good size, and they treat the SPG platinum members really well, often getting upgraded to a suite. Though the food isn't great at the hotel, there are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby that you can walk to.

The lobby of the hotel is beautiful — Having said that, we paid $199 for the night and have really bad buyer's remorse. The rooms are small and the beds are smaller. I have a tall family and my girls had to share a bed (one of my daughter's is almost 6' tall at 14). We requested for a roll away bed which we were told was not allowed in our room. The pool was disgusting — it was cloudy and packed and for a hotel like the Westin, unacceptable. We would not recommend this hotel, particularly with families.

First, the elevators were ridiculous. There were 40 people waiting with 5 elevators. You had to electronically enter your floor and wait for your elevator to arrive. We typically had to wait 15 minutes for an elevator because only one elvator at a time was working. Next, check-in is at 3, they were sold out because the Rolling Stones were in town and they weren't prepared out front for the rush. No valet parking nor help was offered with our bags. Next, the folks at the front desk knew we were from out-of-town and going to the concert which was at Heinz Field, over 1 mile away and they did not suggest taking the free T-Line. Fortunately, the waiter at our restaurant did. And speaking of places to eat, the ONLY place they would recommend was Bill's, their in-house burger joint. But here's the best part. The lighting was very quirky. By shutting off the light at the entrance, it also shut off the light in the bathroom! We couldn't get it back on. This meant a shower and you know what in the dark or with the door open. It also meant no shave. All this for $249.

I was so excited when I booked a room through hotwire for $88 per night! When I realized it was the Westin I was even more excited. My children said they felt like they were in a Suit life of Zach and Cody show. But that soon ended. I was not aware that they were going to charge my card a $60 fee that they said I would get back after I checked out. 2 days later I still have not got it back. The elevators were a nightmare! We had to wait over 10 min every time we needed a ride. The indoor pool is not a real pool. The picture is very deserving. It is 3 lanes where fitness fanatics can swim laps. Only 3 feet deep. My 11 yr old tried to swim in it but got frustrated with the ropes hitting her. As soon as you walk in the room, you are greeted with a nice bottle of water for $2! A nice coffee pot but $7 to use the coffee! 2 channels on the TV but one of them is the hotel channel. All other channels must be paid for. Energy saver lights so the bathroom light wont come on unless your key is in the slot in the wall. So, if the people you are staying with want to take the keys and leave and you stay in the room you better hold it until they get back or do your business in the dark. Free Wi-Fi that will not even load email and it is only free for 24 hrs. If you are staying two days you must pay. No continental breakfast but nice little restaurants that will cost another arm and leg to eat in.

We came to Pittsburgh for our anniversary and thought we were staying at a nice hotel. When we got into our room we realized we were given a room with 2 beds (we requested one king). We were told on the phone when making the reservation that we would have a nice view of the city and it turned out to be a view of about 3 large parking lots. The furniture was scratched, dented, and coming apart. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall at the seams. The windows are smudged and dirty along with stuff smeared on the curtains. We haven't even touched the bed yet so I can only imagine what that will be like. The 2 emergency sprinklers in the room are rusty and probably inoperable. We paid close to $300 for this room and only have about 30 channels on the TV to choose from for something worth watching. My suggestion, save your money and stay somewhere else (THAT DOESN'T CHARGE YOU FOR BREAKFAST).

Weston had great service. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable, showers awesome, and dining inside hotel was amazing. I will stay again for next years Pittsburgh marathon for sure.

Excellent service, year after year. I've gone to this hotel since 2007, and the staff are always courteous, well-mannered, and quick to respond. Everything is clean, I can always get help when I need it.

I stayed here last year with my girlfriend to watch a three game series of the pirates. The first night I was bit by bed bugs as well as the next night. I confronted the manager in private as to not cause a scene. No accommodation was made what so ever. I will never stay there again! huge waste of money! and the people that work there are rude! the place needs shut down.

Stayed this weekend. Terrible first night — but please read this to the end. Mike Tyson stayed down the hall from us and he and his inconsiderate goons kept us up until 330 am. Hotel security and the night manager were unable to improve the situation after 4 phone calls to the front desk after midnight. I was furious. The staff at the Westin stepped it up buy apologizing profusely and agreed to comp our room for a night and one day of parking. I received confirmation the next day via email that they had actually comp'd both Friday and Saturday night. We appreciated this very much, and decided that for that reason alone we would probably consider the Westin again. Word to the wise — the walls to the rooms are made of paper. You're going to hear your neighbors at the Westin, and forget about it if there are people talking in the halls.

BEDBUGS! We stayed one night last week and I was bitten really bad. My feet and ankles were covered in bites. I did not realize there was a problem until I got home and my feet started to itch (I have since found out that the bites do not itch immediately and are white the first day or two before they turn an angry red). I called the hotel and reported it. They called back a few days later and said that I had reported bumblebees in the room and their pest control did not see any bumblebees. When I told the woman that was not what I reported, that I was reporting bed bugs, the response was "oh, well there are not any of those either. " I asked for a manager to call me back. One week later I have not heard anything. The thing is that this is the only place I could have gotten them. I did not have any bites on my feet before we left Michigan and the only time I didn't wear socks while in Pittsburgh was when I was sleeping the one and only hotel we stayed in (The Westin). In the week since I have had zero new bites.

Great time at Anthrocon 2014! Great accommodations and thanks for the reduced price. Elevators were taxed for all the people, but you did well to organize that. Abdullah makes a good point on the parking.

Our FIRST room looked like a college dorm room with moldy refrigerator, rusty air conditioner and dirty walls. We moved to a slightly better second room. Hotel rooms are very out dated and dirty! The entire hotel felt dirty. Service at the bar in the lobby was non-existent. Several bartenders and it was almost impossible to get drinks (forget about getting food). The worst Westin I've ever experienced! ZERO STARS.

What awful service we had at our daughter's Pitt Pharmacy School graduation dinner in one of the hotel's banquet rooms. Our whole table was served our meals except the graduate. Ask 2 different wait staff members for her meal — one of which got extremely rude. Our son finally got upset enough to go to one of the wait staff and demanded a meal be delivered immediately. Got dessert and finally gave up on getting coffee after asking 3 different waiters if we could get some coffee. But the most disturbing thing was the cost of the drinks — charged a 19% Bqt charge/Grat charge.

The hotel was beautiful. However, I was on the 23rd floor and waited almost 10 min for an elevator. I also was disappointed that there was only one vending machine in the whole hotel (on the first floor — down a long hallway and through two doors away from the lobby — not convenient). The machine ate my $1 and did not give me a candy bar. It was also too easy to purchase a $17.99 movie. I believe I clicked the remote twice trying to get to regular channels and purchased something. I can only imagine the horror of allowing children near that remote unsupervised. You should have to enter the room number as a password or something. Even though I was able to easily remove the movie charge since I did not continue to watch it, I probably won't be staying at The Westin again.
