I booked 6 rooms for the weekend. My family and I have stayed often and really find the staff honest and helpful. On the 2nd day I request to be moved to an available suite. Gloria, the staff on duty was amazingly helpful. My 2 grandkids were staying with me and we needed a bigger space. The new suite was perfect. In the chaos of gathering everything up I left 4 bags of expensive botanicals and teas. They are expensive and have to be obtained online. After the move we left to enjoy the shopping at the waterfront and Dave and Buster. It was later in the evening when we returned and it was then I realized I’d left my items. I called down to the front desk and the young man said he’d check. I didn’t hear anything right away so I walked down and he said they weren’t in the old room and not turned in. That the staff must have mistaken them for food. The bags were clearly marked botanicals. They were in the original packaging which in no way looks like food containers. And I was still a guest in the hotel so why not return what belongs to me. We make several trips in a year and normally when I forget something the hotel calls me and lets me know. Very disappointed with the service.

I would say that this is one of the cleanest hotels that I have ever been in! The staff was super helpful, nice, and very on point! The views that you can see from your room and behind the building are amazing! The Monogahela river runs directly behind this excellent hotel! Would not hesitate to stay here again and again! Right behind the waterfront mall and huge AMC movie theater, well worth the stay!

I work in the service Industry and understand things happen. That being said my experience with this hotel was PHENOMENAL. Our thermostat wasn’t working correctly and our room was rather hot for our liking. We tried adjusting it ourselves but nothing happened. We called to inform the front desk and they sent someone up to check it. The person didn’t appear to know how to fix the issue and had us call back to the front for more assistance and left. My boyfriend and I planned a date night at the waterfront for tonight, we live 40 minutes away and decided a hotel would be best to avoid drinking and driving. We went about our night with the thought it would get better. Once we got back it was exactly the same and we asked the front desk again, Gloria was the clerk, what we could do. At this point the maintenance guy was gone for the night (she told the previous attendant to get him to look at it when we first called) she was more than accommodating and so beyond friendly (I think she was more upset than I was. ) We’re already planning to come back next month and will chose this hotel because of the warm, welcoming, and courteous service we received.

I love to stay in the Hampton Inn/waterfront when visiting Pittsburgh. The staff is pleasant knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel is modern and clean. Rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. With an AMC 22 screen theater and mega shopping village across the street — and a scenic river and wooded area complete with bicycle trail behind the Inn — there is always plenty to do. Prices are moderate and free breakfast is included. My wife and I have stayed here 3 years in a row and I look forward to coming back again next year!

Very nice facilities. Excellent breakfast. The pool and gym are also very nice. It's very close to lots or good places to eat and access to downtown Pittsburgh.

The rooms were clean. Check in was speedy. I wasn't able to use my Hilton Honors for internet, and the standard Wi-Fi was awful. I wasn't paying 4.95 a day though. They also charge $10 a night to park, which was crappy. There is plenty of parking in the water front. No bottled water in the room, and the coffee was weak.

So close to everything down at the waterfront. The only downfall to this hotel is that there is zero breakfast. You can purchase cereal, yogart, coffee and fruit but nothing is complementary.

The room was good, very clean. The front desk staff was super polite, very helpful. The breakfast was gross. I am at 50 stays at Hampton Inn's this year already and this breakfast was nasty. Some how the potatoes were undercooked but burnt. The "omelte bagels" looked greasy and we're stuck together. No fresh creamer for the morning coffee (only time I've seen that). The bananas were all old, no cut up fruit. I stay at the Hampton Inn's so often for the breakfast, but this one wasn't worth it.

The room was comfortable, but I have never paid to park at a motel. The name Motel comes from a conglomeration for two words Motor hotel. I have no idea why you would have to pay to park at a motel. There were some minor structural issues with the room.

Very nice hotel by the water. We have stayed here a few times in the same suite and love the view of the river. This most recent time, the gentleman at the front desk, Dillon, went out of his way to get us a blanket for the pullout bed. He was very helpful and polite!

I enjoyed my stay here. The purpose of my visit was for business and the staff was excellent and helpful. The location was excellent right across from the movie theatre. So if you have some extra time you can walk right over and watch a movie. I didn't have time unfortunately. The location was also on the water which adds to the experience and there was also a nice walking path so I could go for a walk. Overall this was a great location because the facilities were in good shape, the staff was friendly and the price was good. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because there was no options for watching movies on TV and because the breakfast was not as good as most of the Hampton inns I visit.

Most of the hotel staff need a good lesson in customer service, including the general manager! After a week and 2 requests, we finally got clean sheets. Only to find out the room was infested with bed bugs! Upon leaving the hotel we were told there was no manager on duty to take our complaint and they would be in touch. It's now been a week and yet to hear from anyone.

Nice and new. Very clean and spacious. Family friendly. Door unlocking through phone was slow, but neat.

Hotel parking fee in Homestead? I travel quite a bit for business and have always enjoyed staying at this hotel as the rates are more reasonable than within city limits and this is one of the newer hotels. Over the past 2-3 years of staying here during my travels to Pittsburgh, there have never been hotel parking charges. Parking fees for Hilton hotels are extremely rare outside of downtown areas. Surprise! There are now hotel parking fees in the metropolis of Homestead! Make sure you take this into account before booking. I for sure will not be patronizing this location regardless of the room rate as I feel the hotel parking fee in this area is unwarranted. There are plenty of other Hilton locations just outside the city limits that do not charge for parking.

It was very nice. Some rooms have a waterfront view, but some of them don't. There is a lovely place to sit outside near a fire. The staff is nice and the room was an average hotel room.

Love the view! Room was clean and well appointed. Breakfast was great!

Attended a work event (training). Staff was friendly, provided coffee and fixings for it all day. Facilities were clean and easily accessible for people coming from all over.

Was good. Place has a pool and breakfast which is nice. Temp doesn't go below 68 degrees. Nice place just a couple of small annoyances preventing 5 stars.

We're in town for a post Christmas visit and we have stayed here before so we thought we'd try it again and we were not disappointed. We were able to get a room on the river side of the hotel and we have a great view of the river. We love that the hotel is very close to shopping and entertainment and not too far if we want to venture downtown.

Mind you I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasion; I called the front desk to inform the desk clerk that the kids above me on the top floor of the hotel were extremely loud and disruptive with banging on floors etc. As a Father of kids that stay with me in the room 70% of the time this is ridiculous! And as a Hilton Honors member because of this and other bedding issues I will no longer visit this hotel during my semi-annual trips to Pittsburgh!

I don't ever leave reviews because I believe everyone expectations and situations are different. But, in this case, I felt it was warranted. The purpose of our trip (fiancé and myself) was to visit falling water. We stayed at the hotel for 4 days. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of shops and places to eat within walking distance. Room was great. We did not have any interaction with house keeping because I am realistic and if I don't clean up my room every day at home, why should someone have to do it for me when I am in another city. We have stayed in our fair share of hotels around the us, and this is great place to stay for the price. Would come back anytime.

The location is excellent for anyone who wants to get out and enjoy a night at the movies, dinner or drinks with friends. Let's not forget the Improv which is a comedy club or Sing Sing which is for those who want to try out their singing skills with karaoke. The waterfront also has plenty of places to shop. The room it's self was average, spacious, clean and doable for a one night stay.

Great location on the river! Staff was very friendly. The room we had was nice, although we wished that a refrigerator came standard in them. I did not notice it when making a reservation since they are so common anymore. However, if we come back through Pittsburgh again, we'd choose to stay here.

This Hampton Inn is wonderful. It is clean, efficient and very comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located along the river walk and is also across the street from a mega theater complex + tons of shopping and dining establishments. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Our stay here has been pleasant and we will definitely stay here again.

I want to start off by saying that the one bright spot of the weekend was the front-desk employee named Shane. Despite issues at check-in, he was polite, courteous and helpful. We also saw him helping out other staff members throughout the weekend. All other employees, however, need customer service training. First we didn't receive our key until almost an hour after check-in because the system wouldn't let them assign the room to us. That first night we noticed the sheets on the pull-out sofa were dirty with food stains so we had to call down for a clean set. Then, housekeeping did not service our room the next day. When we called down to the front desk to inform them when we returned later in the evening, the lady said she needed to send someone up to "verify. " The gentlemen who showed up was rude demanding to know "What wasn't done" (although it should have been obvious) and then said "Well what do you want done? " Breakfast was also not handled well. They had one poor woman working to refill all the food even though it was SWAMPED for breakfast. She couldn't keep up with the crowd so food ran out by 9:15. The icing on the cake of the weekend was when we received our check-out bill via email later in the day after we checked out. We had booked the room with points but were charged for the room. When we called to get this error corrected, the girl at the front desk first just transferred us to a manager.

This was my second stay at this location! I come here for business and I love how clean and nice it is. The breakfast is pretty good and has a good variety with some healthy options as well. The views of the river are so nice and the back patio with the fire place is very peaceful! The rooms are large and so are the bathrooms. Bed, linens and pillows are very comfortable and I always sleep well here! No complaints except the front desk staff this time leaves some room for improvement. I love the great shopping/restaurants and AMC theatre directly across the street! Makes this a beautiful and great place to stay! I will definitely be back!

I don't understand these negative reviews. I have stayed at the Hampton Inn at the Pittsburgh Waterfront many times, most recently this past weekend. It's my favorite Hampton Inn, and I have stayed in many. Very clean, extremely accommodating staff — the view from my riverside room was beautiful. During breakfast the hotel manager came around, helped clear tables, checked to make sure everyone was happy. And the location within walking distance of shopping, eating and entertainment is ideal. I have already booked two more stays at this hotel for next Spring, and I am looking forward to visiting again.

Comfortable hotel. Excellent view of the river and plenty to do in walking distance. Location is great to get to the South Side, Downtown, and access to the East of Pittsburgh.

We stayed over one night for the us open practice round. Once we got to the room the window had the worst view. The structure out front was blocking our view. We didn't care too much and we were one of the last guests of the night.

Great rooms and amenities. The suite is a good size with fridge, sink and microwave. Decisions might need some updating, everything is brown.

Great hotel! We were upgraded to a suite which was really nice. Comfortable bed! Lots to do nearby and restaurants to eat at.

This Hampton is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of a movie theater, shops, and many restaurants. It is new, clean, and has a professional staff. I'd most certainly recommend it for both business and leisure travel.

This hotel was fantastic and offers access to many local destinations. From the hotel I was able to walk to the Strip District and the many different shops, restaurants, and bars. The Heinz History center is right across the street if you are looking for something to do. It is also very close to the Convention Center, Rivers Casino, and Heinz Field. None of them should take more than about five minutes if you are driving. The staff was also very polite and helpful.

Poor maid service and dismissive staff. Could be a nice hotel if the employees cared about their job.

I stayed here 2 nights in May, while visiting colleges with my daughter. We arrived late and were tired, the check in was very fast and the girl was friendly and welcoming. In the morning the breakfast was good, and the staff was amazing! They helped us with everything from suggestions for meals and entertainment to directions to the college. All of their suggestions were on point. The gentleman working that evening even helped us warm up our dinner, since we didn't have a microwave in our room. The room was comfortable and very clean. The fitness room was not bad for a hotel. The pool was nice. The whole stay was great. This hotel was the 4th hotel on our trip. All were Hilton properties and this was the only one that thanked me for being Honors Gold. I have, and will continue to recommend this property to anyone going to Pittsburgh. I will be returning in a few weeks when I take my daughter to school. I didn't even consider another property because of the level of service I got here.

My Family and I were in town for a family reunion and stayed here 8-11 August 2014. This was an outstanding experience. Top-notch and attentive staff, big, very comfortable and CLEAN rooms! There were a lot of other families there during this time but the staff made sure check-in and check-out was fast We all enjoyed the Free breakfast that honestly rivaled some of the surrounding eateries we tried. Overall a 5 Star Experience and we will certainly stay here again! William H. Lassiter Jr.

Recently home for the Thanksgiving holiday and thought it a great idea for my family to stay at the newly opened Hampton Inn. I disliked not having a sofa, microwave or mini fridge. Possibly my expectations were too high because I travel on business weekly all over the country and frequented Hilton properties. The breakfast wasn't very good. Microwaved, dried scrambled eggs are not tasty at any level of service. Better not to have them at all. Smoked sausage is another bad choice. What a missed opportunity by Hilton not maximizing the view of the river like the Marriott Courtyard. It looked as though they had thrown a couple chairs, a small table and gas heater out back as a second thought. I did not see the value in this property for the price. Sorry Hilton.
