There’s a reason we keep returning to the HIE Astoria. We love the spacious rooms, and now with an infant the family suites are perfect with the growing family. Incredible Columbia River views, excellent staff and centrally located along the boardwalk. Pre Covid and during the ongoing pandemic, this property is perfect all around for families. Hands down the best family property within 15 miles of Astoria, we’ll always come back.

King suite river view for sure! Loved the size of the room, the view and location, the bed was comfy too! As an IHG member I have no complaints with any of the Holiday inns that I have stayed in.

We were in Astoria celebrating my Mom’s 80th birthday and I asked for a room with a great view and boy did they deliver. The hotel was lovely and REALLY clean. It was with walking distance of a wonderful Mexican restaurant. So easy to get to and beautiful grounds to explore! Can’t wait to visit again!

Started with an Ant on my bar of soup night of check-in. We went out for dinner earlier that night at the Mexican restaurant across the street (could have been the best shrimp tacos and salsa I have ever had! ) Next morning our to-go boxes and fridge area were COVERED in Ants, going all the way up the wall. Then my daughter mentioned that she had one on her pillow and so did my fiancé…on our pillows! We informed the front desk and they were very apologetic and said to leave our stuff on a cart (we were heading to long beach for the kit festival) and once a room was ready they would transport it. To add to the unpleasant experience as we were packing our room up my son was standing in the doorway of the room with his Dads flip flops next to him and the front desk lady yelled at my son, not once but twice! Telling him to tell his Dad that his flip flops were not allowed outside the room. She clearly hated her job and life in general, got the same unwelcoming vibe at check-in. She is lucky she got on the elevator so quick because I would have let her have it. In conclusion, by Saturday night we were so tired that we never even took our stuff off of the luggage cart because we were leaving early Sunday. Were told we would be called by the General manager. Its Thursday and she has not returned our 2 calls or email. Definitely get the feeling she could careless. I wasn’t even asking for anything for free, just a courtesy call.

The view from the hotel widows provides a relaxing view of the Columbia River. It is located close to some very good restaurants.

This is the standard American middle level hotel. Room was clean and the bed comfortable. There was a killer view of the Columbia, and the room was quiet. The complimentary breakfast was okay with several hot choices. To get picky, the pool tiles were dirty and the pool shower was nearly cold (so guess who didn’t shower first). That we could bring our dog was important to us, and obviously to others, too. The hotel staff was warm and friendly.

The breakfast is awesome. There's also a nice Mexican restaurant across the street with great food. The place is really clean as well.

This hotel is very nice. The room was clean and spacious with a great view of the water. The breakfast was very good with alot of options and the front desk staff was extremely helpful with suggestions to local attractions. I wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night.

The staff here is wonderful! Rooms are great with a nice view of the river if you choose to have a Riverside view. Breakfast is good also. Great location to just walk down the Riverwalk and explore. I've been here for work a lot in the last year and love it.

Room was so clean, plenty of space, comfy beds, very quiet. Breakfast was awesome. Helpful, kind staff. Trolley runs right near by in case you want to catch a ride. There's also a tiny sandy beach below.

Let's just say we won't be back. To start, We started taking showers and the tub won't drain. We start trying to get the tub to drain and look down at the shower curtain and it's caked in mold. The shower curtain was filthy. I called front desk and they said they couldn't get anyone up here until we checked out. Keep in mind we staying in a 2 bed suite with a pull out couch so, we have 12 people who need to shower. When then start going down stairs for breakfast and they have ran out of food at 8am! We then wait almost 45 for them to make more. The apple juice is brown water, I told the lady about it and she said that's how it is and there is nothing they can do about it. Breakfast was disgusting, Customer Service has been horrible, and the rooms were not clean at all.

I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Astoria, Oregon. The hotel is located right by the Astoria-Megler bridge. We had a great view of the bridge and river from our room. The trolley runs right by the hotel, so you can jump on the trolley for $1 and get a narrated tour of the town. This a a very cool little town and the hotel is perfect.

To be fair it's tourists season… But for the price I expected much better. They wouldn't even grant me a late check-out of a couple hours, So I have to finish my work day early. I also requested a river view upgrade as it my anniversary… They wanted an extra $50 a night? Way to much for these Motel 6 Rooms.

What a delightful find, This Holiday Inn Express is perfectly located along a main thoroughfare in Astoria. Right behind is the railroad track for the trolley. There is also a delightful walking track behind as well and this Holiday Inn Express has thoughtfully provided bicycles for 1 hour complimentary use, The entire property has a fresh, clean and new feel to it. The rooms are spacious with a cozy fireplace in the corner. The breakfast room has a nice view of the harbor and the breakfast staff are first-rate. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. This property is also within walking distance of many of the sites you might like to see. I will make it a point to stay here the next time I'm in Astoria.

The Astoria Holiday Inn Express is a First Rate Property in a first-rate location in Astoria. I must confess that I am a big fan of Holiday Inn Express to begin with. However, the Astoria Holiday Inn Express impressed me above and beyond my usual Holiday Inn Express expectations. The views from the room of the Columbia River are outstanding as well as the views of the Astoria-Megler bridge to Washington State. The property feels fresh clean and up-to-date. A very nice amenity is the use of bicycles while you are here complimentary for the first hour. Just enough time to take the bike path right outside the door. If you are looking for a place to stay in Astoria for one night or many this would be the place to stay.

The staff was very friendly and check in and check it was so easy because we had prepaid online. Riverfront views were spectacular! The hotel has got some of the best views in town in my opinion. Right behind the hotel is the riverwalk, so it's very quiet even with the windows open all night. You can sit in your room and watch the shops come and go. The buffet in the morning was surprisingly good. I haven't stayed at a hotel in quite some time so maybe hotel for has just gotten better over time, or my tastes have gotten worse, but the eggs were good and there was a pancake machine that seemed really out of the future. I will definitely be back.

Please read this whole review, there are good things about this place! I stayed here for six nights, a mix of working from my room and a little sightseeing. Pros: these all rate 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Location. Right on the riverfront. Easy access to the walk or trolley (in season). The views are stunning! The rooms are clean and stocked with the basics. The hotel staff is incredibly helpful! Maintenance was cleaning scuff marks on the tile floor from a guests luggage moments after it happened. Front desk was always cheerful and greeted me each time I returned. Housekeeping staff was very pleasant. I didn’t have them attend the room daily, but I did ask for coffee refills when I did see them, and they were always pleasant. Cons: ⭐️ The room doors. The door to the hallway does not have a proper closer and they slam. If you get an inconsiderate guest nearby, all you’ll hear is slamming doors each time they enter or leave. (Get a guest with kids who are in/out continually and it will be nearly unbearable. ) I politely asked the guest to be aware of the slamming doors and was promptly dismissed. I brought it to the attention of the front desk. They left a polite message on the guests room phone. This did nothing… Day three, more slamming doors. Again mentioned it to the front desk, I’m sure they attempted to contact the guest, but the slamming door continued. Once a day I would have overlooked it. But this guest was in and out 10 times a day…

I stayed here over the Astoria Seafood and Wine Festival weekend. I experienced fantastic customer service from the time I booked my room (about a year ago), while I was checking in, and also checking out. Staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. My room was GREAT! We arrived to a very clean and bright room with everything we could have ever needed included! The overall facility is clean and bright and welcoming. I would stay here as my first option each time I return!

I stayed 2 nights here when traveling for work. The location is great, right in the riverfront. Breakfast was good with various choices. Room was comfortable and clean with a great view. They also have bikes available for rent, which was nice. Would definitely stay here again if I were to return for the area.

I love this hotel! Great staff, really clean with amazing views. If you have. Pet, you can't beat this hotel. Not only are all their roo. S pet friendly, but there is a great river walk and park right next to the hotel. So happy I found this place.

Love that when you ask the staff for something they do their best to accommodate me. When I travel I am always looking for a Holiday Inn Express. Like my husband says, "why take chances somewhere else when IHG gives us the best".

Very clean. Breakfast was wonderful with many choices. Awesome view of the Columbia and the barges coming down towards the Pacific. Small beach out the back door as well as the Astoria Trolley. Wave a $1 and flag it down. The hotel lobby had some trial size necessities as well as a few souvenirs. We bought some much needed rain ponchos from the little lobby store.

It's a pretty good hotel overall. It's located in a good location overlooking the Columbia River. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom is huge compared to other Holiday Inns I've stayed in the past. The only negative was that my room was not ready until 6 p. M.

The staff was amazing, extremely helpful and they treated us like real people. That's not so common in this robot quality, albeit polite customer service world. I appreciate that. The room was great too, mattress was perfect and it had 2 firm and 2 soft pillows! Yay!

Great view. Large comfortable rooms. We had a gas fireplace. Nice staff. Clean and professional. Access to Riverwalk to historic district. Trolley in the summer.

GREAT location right below the beautiful bridge. Views of the water and bridge on one side and the nice residential hills on the other side. Walking trail along the water right outside the rear door. Good hot breakfast with lots of selections. 20 minutes from Fort Steven's State Park. Surprisingly very little traffic noise from the bridge traffic.

All around great experience. Room was overlooking the little private beach on the water. Was clean crisp and had all the normal little hotel bottles of soaps and things. Staff is always great and breakfast here is the best I've had at a hotel yet. Widest variety and healthier options. Definitely would stay again.

We decided to "run away" for a few nights and wanted to be on the beautiful Columbia River… Astoria's Holiday Inn Express offered us the perfect place to recharge, reconnect and relax. Our room was more than we had hoped for… sink into comfort king bed, functional, modern and upscale bath, large sitting room with fireplace and a view of the river, Megler Bridge, the SW tip of Washington, the Columbia River bar and sunsets that far exceeded our expectations. An added bonus was the lapping of waves on a small beach below our room. A huge couch and ottoman, desk/dining table & chairs, console with cut crystal vase (which we immediately filled with fresh flowers), good lighting and storage filled out the room without any feel of overcrowding. Added bonus was an efficient sink, micro, frig & storage bar with plates, utensils & such. The hotel is beautiful… pool, breakfast area common rooms, all first class. The staff beyond reproach. Located right on the river walkway, it is simply perfect… we will be back and can hardly wait!

I typically prefer non-chain lodging, but this hotel is fantastic. Marvelous location looking out at the picturesque Astoria-Megler Bridge. Walking distance to downtown. Pretty solid breakfast. Extremely helpful, pleasant staff. Strongly recommended.

Stayed here two nights and had a great experience. The rooms are thoughtfully appointed — large bathrooms, easy lap switches, lots of outlets, USB ports, free Wi-Fi and Ethernet (! ). The saltwater pool and hot tub are small but nice. The location is very nice, right under the bridge.

Since they have hired an all-new crew, this place has drastically improved. Their rooms are clean, they have a friendly staff, and they're in a great location. I can't wait to see what their renovations will look like!

Really clean, friendly staff, rooms with excellent views. Delicious Hot breakfast with sausages at least two kind, 2 kind of eggs, pancakes, milk cereal, yogurt, different kinds of teas, coffee, juices and the selection of baked items like muffin etc. Excellent location with a small beach in the back. You can pretty much sit under the bridge and watch the ships Sail by. They have a nice outdoor sitting area where you can take your breakfast to. Nice fireplace in the room and in the lobby. I cannot pinpoint why but it was one of the best places I've stayed at. Really good experience. I would go there again in a heartbeat:)

My family and I traveled to the Holiday Inn Express in Astoria and we were treated with 5 star service from the moment we walked on the door. The staff was super accommodating and the room overlooking the river was very nice and super clean. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area.

Modern well located hotel by the bridge. Very nice breakfast included. Windows facing the bridge have a good view of the mighty Columbia River. Walking distance to historic downtown which has nice restaurants and micro breweries. There is a river walk behind the hotel which you can walk to downtown in 10 minutes. Hotel also offers the use of bicycles with the first hour of use free of charge. We had a wonderful stay.

From the lobby, to the rooms, to the incredible views, you can't go wrong staying here. There are restaurants within walking distance as well as a path along the water behind the hotel to, at your leisure, enjoy the area. Simply watching the boats going under the bridge is entertaining.

Staff at check-in were excellent and allowed us to move rooms (no problem with room just a preference) room was clean bed was comfortable. The view is great! The hot tub was a comfortable temp. Breakfast staff was polite but choices and quality fell a little short in my opinion. $$$ but I will stay again.

Make sure you ask for a room on one of the top floors. We did that the first time and not this time and really made a difference in our view. We still enjoyed our stay. The fireplace is fantastic and listening to the waves is mesmerizing. I do wish the windows opened more so that I could get more fresh air and more of those wonderful natural sounds but it was a lovely time. If noisy children bother you, be sure to go to the pool rather late. There's nothing to stop them from screaming at the top of their lungs.

This has by far, been my favorite Holiday Inn hotel yet! Beautiful view of the river and has a little beach out back. Spacious rooms and a wonderful breakfast, makes this hotel a perfect stay. I wish we could've stayed there longer. Definitely be returning sometime!

Ridiculously nice Holiday Inn. Great location, surprisingly nice amenities (e. G. Cruiser bikes and in room kureig coffee machines) and a very accommodating staff. This is a 4 star hotel for 2 star prices.

Location is extremely convenient. Clean big room. Could not get the river view room, but I can imagine it being great. Only compliant would be sound — lot of thumping sound every time someone walks in the corridor or the room above. Light sleepers be warned.

Havana and co. Gave us a friendly welcome and my dog multiple cookies. I had a large room which was clean and, although street-side, pretty quiet. The hotel's convenient for a stroll along the riverside.

This is a nice place. I am not a big fan of their breakfast tho. I have they make a better variety. Other than that a very decent place.

Consistently pleasant experience. Affordable. Great view of the bridge and right next to a quaint little beach on the river. Location makes it easy to hop on the trolley and get to anywhere in Astoria along the river.

The view from our room was absolutely beautiful. The room itself had a king bed, a fire place, a love seat, small desk, and a mini fridge. The bathroom tub was deep, but short. Large mirrors and framed photography hung on the walls. There is a swimming pool, hot tub and gym. Staff was friendly. Downsides included small things, like no remote for DVD player.

Stayed on the 3rd floor. Very nice rooms and great experience. Had issue with room a/c, but overall everything was handled correctly. The rooms themselves were very modern and clean. The view from the room was spectacular and made for great evenings and mornings. The free breakfast was a convenient and tasty.
