Nice up to date rooms. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

Nice and clean, right in the middle of restaraunts.

It's close to restaurants, shopping and not far from airport. A great hotel, staff very friendly and helpful.

Uncomfortable beds. Tiny lumpy pillows. Got a king sized room for 2 and only one side of the bed has a lamp and a nightstand. Seals on the windows are not tight so wind and traffic noise are a bit of a problem.

Very clean, great staff, nice welcome bag was a nice touch.

Enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was clean and inviting. The front desk associates were helpful and very personable. The room was clean, the beds are comfortable and hot breakfast is served daily.

Booked this hotel for a little weekend family getaway. This hotel was very clean and the service was fantastic. The breakfast was a hit with the whole family. Definitely worth the money (which was reasonable). Will be booking this hotel again for future getaways.!

The receptionist was very sweet and actually helped me get what I wanted for a great price. I had actually walked in to the wrong hotel and she talked me into staying here. It seems as if anything you want to see or do is pretty close and the piers and beaches are maybe 10 to 15 minutes away and very easy to drive to. There is a Walmart right behind the hotel and good restaurants in close vicinity. I'm coming back to stay here and go see the USS North Carolina again.

My 3rd time back, love the staff, so friendly and welcoming. I like the decor and the room is spacious, clean, comfortable bed. Love the freshly baked cookies and complimentary refreshments between 5 and 7. Located 15 minutes from Wilmington downtown and 15 minutes from Wrightsville Beach, convenient for me. I will definitely come back.

If you're looking for a nice midscale place to stay on vacation, this would be it. One can park their car and walk wherever they need to go within minutes. L would recommend this place to anyone… their only set back was breakfast, they really could stand some improvement in that area other than that, every thing else was perfect!

Great location, great rates, clean rooms, friendly staff. Megan at the front desk was very helpful. The breakfast, fresh baked cookies, complimentary happy hour were a plus. We had one issue with the AC unit. We were moved to another room with no problem. We'll be back soon!

I really enjoyed my stay at this place. The service is kind. Our room was clean and spacious. Plenty of towels and they change them everyday. The hotel offers breakfast which to me was really good, you could choose from cereals and yogurt to eggs and waffles that you can make yourself. They also offer complimentary drinks from 5-7. I didn’t get to use the pool but it looked fine from my window. The beach is about 25min away* Thank you.

Typical hotel and slightly nicer than a basic room. The pillows were mushy and the king sized bed firm. The room safe uses a key, not a code. The free breakfast was a selection of eggs, homefries, cereals, oatmeal and toppings, toast, bagels, muffins, a waffle maker, coffee, tea, juices, milk, and yogurts. There aren't any views and the pool is small with no shade. Walmart is 100 yards away down the road. Some nights the front desk had fresh baked cookies and a bowl of ice with free bottled water and Coors Light on Friday night. Free beer was a first ever. We went through 4 room keys as 2 stopped working during our 4 night stay. The in-room a/c was very loud and sounded like water was running whenever it would kick on. If you get the king with sleeper sofa the sofa isn't even 5 feet away so closer than the photos make it look so the TV lights might disturb them still. The sofa mattress is foam and you feel things through it so we ended up leaving it folded up for our preschooler to sleep on. A larger kid wouldn't fit well that way as it's smaller.

Excellent Stay. This was my first time using Wingate and I really liked it. Check in was a breeze and the staff was friendly and explained to me which of their group of hotels was better. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great and the best perk was the open bar!

Solid 3 stars. Staff is extremely accommodating and helpful. Rooms are nice and big, though a little dated, needs were comfortable. Where this hotel is seriously lacking compared to comparably priced hotels is their breakfast. It was by far the worst breakfast I have ever had. Their eggs taste like they were soaked in water for a week before coming, the sausage just didn't taste right. They had undercooked biscuits and the sausage gravy was terrible. The make your own waffles we're good though.

We stayed two nights at Wingate by Wyndham, and it was great! The location is incredible. There are several restaurants near the hotel. There's also a Walmart 2 minutes away. The rooms are spacious, and equipped with cable. The staff is really friendly.

Our stay there was going pretty good until we got a call from the front desk at 5 a. M. On Easter morning. Front desk manager asked me was there water coming from the ceiling in my room. Sure enough in the bathroom water was pouring through the vent over the toilet from the room above. Someone had went to sleep in the bathtub with the water running straight above us. Got woken up early Easter morning with water all over the floor of my bedroom all over everything in the bathroom and the most management could do was offer me a 20% discount on my stay. And that was after the front desk attendant told me that the people above my room was going to dearly pay for the damage that they did. I'm sure they made enough off of them to at least give me a 50% discount. Very poor customer courtesy. Will not be going back to this Motel.

Very clean and modern room. Bed was very comfortable. Only complaint is the toilet seat in our bathroom was worn and old. The tub was quite old, as well. Otherwise, very pleasant stay, nice lobby and breakfast. Helpful staff.

What a beautiful hotel! The total experience was awesome from the registration via phone to the day we walked out of the door. The front desk was VERY cordial and welcoming especially Meagan! It was obvious they love their job and are knowledgeable. The rooms are very spacious, loved the fact that there was a refrigerator and microwave present. Also, loved the sitting area. The breakfast accommodations for guests is a great incentive to staying here as well. A nice variation of hot and cold food for everyone's palette. Definitely a hotel to look into. We will stay here again when we return to NC. By the way, the price was better than New York, too.

I recently reserved one of their meeting rooms for a team-building exercise and was very pleased with the facility. The room was set up just as requested and the staff was very accommodating. Overall great experience.

Hotel was very nice and clean. Curtains made the room very dark, which was nice. A little bit of noise from the street, but not really noticable unless you're paying attention. Breakfast was decent and the hours were long (0630-0930).

Everything about our visit was absolutely perfect. The room was clean, spacious, and very well appointed. The fitness room was one of the best I've experienced in hotels all across the US, and the breakfast buffet couldn't have been any better.

Toilet was held by a piece of plastic, light bulb went out after one use, only had one bottle opener that was in use, and also unknown which room had it. Toilet paper roll wouldn't stay shut… Usually these hotels are great… This one was not.

When we checked in we noticed the sheets were still damp on the bed. We let them know, she said she would send someone in to change them. And then left for dinner. When we got back there was a roach crawling across the floor and the comforter on the bed was damp. We let the girl at the front desk know this am and she didn't seemed concerned one bit. That will be out last stay at this location. The breakfast was not good at all. Only thing that was good was the coffee.

Cookies are good. Breakfast offerings better than some hotels. Hotel itself is a bit dated, but not shabby. Location is very convenient.

The place very clean, easy access when you come from out of the city, the breakfast is very variety, a lot of business around the hotel, the pool was nice (just I wished that they have a small pool for toddlers) besides one of the pool ladders has 2 of 3 top-steps rubber missing, but other than that was a really nice experience I'd definitely come back & also tell my family & friends this a good place to stay & I almost forgot just 10 minutes away from the local beach.

On August 4 at 5:00 p. M. My boyfriend surprised me with a last minute beach trip. I really didn’t want to go because I like my vacations well planned out & nice accommodations. So being that I had a rough 2 weeks I decided to go. I’m so happy that I did because we had a wonderful time in Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach & lovely nice clean cozy hotel stay. The room was up to date & stylist & the maid service was excellent. We will differently stay again our next visit.

Great water pressure and showerhead, good quality mattress on the fold out bed which is not always true. Breakfast is impressive in scope and good quality, with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, sometimes bacon, biscuits & sausage gravy, fruit and basic cereals and breads. Make your own waffle = great! Coffee at breakfast is awful, terrible, horrible and no good. Coffee from the room hot water dispenser is actually better than the buffet. One terrible thing was clog of hair in tub keeping it from draining. Gross!

My second visit. Always love it here. The room is nicely decorated and clean. The staff is always friendly. The free breakfast is very good, lots of choices. Will definitely be back.

Clean room and great staff. Payed 1/2 of what beach front hotels cost for an extra 10 minute drive. Located half way between downtown Wilmington and the beach. Can't wait to go back.

Only stayed 1 night as a pit stop on the way to another state. Very friendly staff, room was very clean and even had a microwave and fridge. The continental breakfast was pretty standard with bacon, eggs, biscuits, cereal, waffles, etc. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here about a month ago. The accommodations where great and the staff was also but the main reason I gave Wyndham five stars was the matress. I can't remember the last time I slept so good!

Lovely, quiet, classy hotel. The staff was kind and attentive. Loved the jacuzzi and pool! Bathroom in room was small, but well stocked. Wonderful experience!

Front desk was very helpful and super polite, the room was exactly as pictured and up to standards. Enjoyed the whirlpool, fitness center, and pool. Not too far from everything happening downtown. Plenty to eat near hotel. Best part is Wamart around the corner lol. Very peaceful environment!

Wingate@Wilmington was perfect this passed week. Don't try to be cheap and get a 45$ room from some dirty motel. Do yourself a favor and stay at Wingate. We got a room for 89$ and got signed up for a rewards program so our next room will cost only 55$! The Breakfast was of a higher quality than most any hotels I've stayed in. Eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels, unlimited orange juice, free great tasting coffee all day, yogurt, you name it! Bonus quality: From 5-7, they have "happy hour" in which customers are served 2 choices of beverages including beers and wine! And who needs more than 2? The jacuzzi is great, especially if you can get it to yourself or to your party! Great place to go after your two free drinks, with a friend of course. The bed was so comfortable my girlfriend and I woke up from a 1 hour nap and thought we slept all day. We woke up earlier than usual feeling even more rested. My girlfriend brought her own pillow and didn't use it once! The whole facility was super clean and left us with a super memorable vacation! Had we chose any other place it might have turned out different!

Loved this hotel! A friend and I stayed here this past weekend. The room, amenities, and services were beyond expectations. The room was spotless and comfortable. Each employee who we encountered greeted us with a pleasant smile and actively engaged us with conversation. What wowed me with the extent of their guest services is when I asked Alayna and Jenny at the front desk if they had any idea of where I could buy a certain candy in the area. They searched and called around for me and found it! I was in awe by them doing that. This hotel is also in walking distance of a Walmart, Target, gas station, and plenty of restaurants. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely stay here. Kudos to Wingate by Wyndham Wilmington and their awesome staff.

I have never stayed at a Wingate before my trip to the beach last week. The hotel was so gorgeous and very clean, as was our room and all the facilities that we used. The staff was very polite and welcoming. Anytime my friend and I left/returned to the hotel we were greeted by the front desk person. I always stick a 'Do Not Disturb' sign up on my door every time I go to a hotel and the housekeepers were getting ready to leave for the day so the front desk called our room to make sure we were good on towels and other belongings. I will stay at this hotel again for sure.

Just stayed at this hotel this past weekend and it was wonderful. I am a "germaphobe" so I read all the reviews before going. The staff was great and even had a hand written welcome card waiting for us at check-in. My room inspection (under the mattress, sheets, pillows, bathroom floor, tub and carpets) met my approval. The room was spotless and the hotel had wonderful ammenities. The free breakfast even included waffles, real bacon and sausage and great coffee! And it is located near everything, only took a few minutes drive to get down to the riverfront area. I will stay here again any time we are in or near Wilmington. Excellant.

Stay here a lot visiting our relatives in Wilmington NC. Beds are great and service is very good. Its clean and tidy all the time. Well located and well priced compared to others I have looked into. Breakfast is good and well received by visitors. They are a cut above to me. About to book several more nights now.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend away and enjoyed the room. The room was quite nice with a plasma TV, comfortable bed, sofa, and a nice bathroom. The service was so so, as we never really asked for anything, but no one ever talked to us or greeted us when we came in or out of the hotel. The only thing I would recommend to the Wingate is to seriously clean their hot tub, it was filthy to the point I wouldn't even get in! It had dirt all around the sides, dirt floating on top (maybe dirt. Ew). Overall it was a nice stay, a bit expensive, but nice.

Stayed here over the Azalea Festival weekend and was very impressed. Clean rooms, extremely nice staff, and nice amenities. We got an executive king suite and the bed was sooooo comfortable! The complimentary breakfast was much more varied than most hotel breakfasts I've seen, with lots of hot options. No problems with noise from neighboring rooms at all (i. E. Thicker walls). The whirlpool is nice and big, and doesn't close until 11pm :) The pool was nice too, but definitely could have been a little bigger. The only thing I definitely did not like was no balconies on the rooms. Another plus — this is close to so much stuff — you can literally walk to five different restaurants and Wal-Mart, and the beach or downtown is just a short drive. Overall, an awesome place to stay.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Hotel was spotless! Beds were fairly nice and sheets had been changed just a few minutes prior to our arrival (housekeeping was still in the room across from us). A complimentary bag of pretzels and a bottled water were there, along with the usual coffees and teas. Water pressure was good and actually hot opposed to many hotels I've stayed in. Complementary breakfast was great and included waffle (you make), pastry, coffee, several types of tea, 3 types of juice, fresh fruit. Packages of instant oatmeal or grits, cinnamon buns, hard boiled eggs, pop tarts, cereal. And more that I can't specifically remember. Spa and pool were VERY CLEAN. The business center was extensive and well kept. Fairly close to the beach and very close to historical downtown. All in all we were very pleased with this hotel and would recommend it to anyone. Plus. If your not happy with anything you won't pay for your stay. They have a satisfaction guarantee (although I don't think you'll need to use it.
