Room 324 — How this place got so many good reviews is beyond me. Drop ceilings are all dropping out! 😂 Old smoke detector, front door doesn’t close all the way, is totally loose. You can lightly wiggle it and the whole wall shakes! Bathroom door doesn’t close either. The hall floors outside feel like you could fall through in some spots. Outside floor is about rotten. SOOO needs remodeling! Bathroom is the worst part. Do not come here if you want a nice bathroom! We arrived, needed to put 3 light bulbs in ourselves. Lol. And the hanging light doesn’t work at all. On top of it, hair dryer doesn’t work. Low, run down crappy hotel! Only positive note — good location direct ocean access. Outside pool. Oh, we saw the neighborhood pet rat at the pool. Apparently, that’s old news. 🤪

I love the Oceaneer. Been here 3 times this year. The rooms are always clean, the staff always friendly and the guests are nice too. Great place to stay with family or a girls weekend. Nice pool and it's right on the beach!

Rooms nasty dirty. Parking a nightmare. Extremely noisy, running around and banging on doors late hours at night. I could go on and on. Do not recommend at all.

Very friendly people and everyone was nice! The room was clean and they kept us with clean towls. The air conditioned felt great! The pool felt nice! They just don't have a washer and dryer on site! But overall I will go back! ❤

A wonderful place to stay at the beach. Our family has made this Motel our gathering spot for vacations. The employees are the best. We love them.

It’s a walk from the beach we loved it we’re a hugh family and they didn’t care they only wanted us to have a great experience it out rates even a high price hotel cause their more like family to everyone there! ❤️

Had a great experience here! When my traveling partner and I had a falling out this place kindly allowed my daughter and I to stay an extra night with them. My daughter loved the pool (although the water was freezing cold) and we loved being right on the beach!

Really friendly place. Rates were reasonable and Pam at the front desk was really nice and helpful. They made accomidstions for our crew being that we had 4 rooms.

Everyone that I met from the very first moment was most friendly and very accommodating! I traveled alone and was a little timid about not having any friendly conversation. The lady and gentleman who greeted me in the office made me feel very welcomed and comfortable. The room was just comfortable enough for being at the beach. I was assured and invited to remain parked on their lot to continue swimming at the pool and beach even after checkout time! The lady who took care of my room was very friendly also. I will be back!

We were excited to find a place last minute on Carolina Beach that was also affordable. It is on the beach and has its own beach access. The room we were in was not fancy by any means, but it was extremely clean… Beds, shower, toilet, and towels. The workers were very polite, and we really enjoyed the pool as well. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

It was a nice place great staff I know the owners are social and friendly there are thankfully non smoking rooms more of a family friendly chill environment only bad thing is if you want a suite you have to book one MONTHS in advance but very close to the town.

Best place to stay while away I have been going here for roughly 15 years and this is the only place that feels like you are at home with family. The hospitality is absolutely amazing and it is a very comfortable stay. I would never in a million years stay anywhere else. If you are looking for a nice place to have a nice getaway with amazing friendly staff and a like home feeling I would definitely recommend the oceannear motel. You will feel like you are at home with family and you will be treated with the best respect and most friendly faces you will ever see. I come here as often as possible and every visit makes me feel more and more at peace. I am at my happy place while here at the motel.

We ask for 1st floor and was given 3rd. Not enough parking for all the guest. Railing on stairs was wobbly. It's a older hotel and could definitely use some TLC/upgrades.

We have stayed here 3 times already and love it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I love it here the rooms are clean, a lil older but for what you pay here it is well worth it. We always have a clean room, a big pool and a great view of the ocean. And not to mention the beach is a just a walk down the sidewalk.

Enjoyed our stay here, staff was great. I am so thankful for the housekeeping, my grandson left his kindle fire on the bed and it was covered and we didn't see it, and the manager made sure we got it back, before we even had a chance to get out of the parking lot.

Very clean! Staff is very friendly. Cant beat the price for a motel on the beach. Will definitely stay here again.

The rooms are dated. My family and I loved the location and the amenities we received. Great price for last minute spring break vacation.

Great little motel it is a little older but is maintained well you won’t beat it for the price. Pam at the front desk is awesome and was very helpful. Great place to get away for a weekend or even longer vacation. They do offer military discounts my family will definitely be back. :)

Very well priced. Not the most current decorations but it was clean and right on the beach. Perfect for what we needed.

My wife and I stayed at the Motel over the Labor Day weekend. The reviews and stars given online do not represent an accurate picture of the facility. The facility is OLD and RUN DOWN. It was apparent that the owners have not made any improvements to the rooms in many years. Our room had a strong moldy smell coming from the window air conditioner that made my wife so sick we had to head home early the second day. There was mold around the mini-fridge seal and a big blob of pink/red goo on the trim around the entrance to the bath/vanity area. Our cleaning person did not catch this despite cleaning the room twice. The bathroom sink did not drain properly and there was no stopper in the sink. At the end of our stay we were amazed to get an envelope asking us to tip the maid. I've never seen this before. The staff was friendly and accommodating but I think they are trying to do the best with what they have to work with. I would never stay there again. This place is horrible! Not worth $160/night.

Not happy! ”  The ladies that clean the rooms did a wonderful job! However, the mattresses were so soft that it dumped me and my granddaughter in the middle of the bed. Terribly uncomfortable! And I only weigh 125! But the worst thing of all was the nasty pool! The man that was supposed to clean the pool did not clean it. I took pictures of it and informed the office staff, they also took pictures. There was a lot of sand all over the bottom and things floating on top. The next day when I was checking out, I complained that the pool never got cleaned. The lady at the desk said the owner was looking into the situation. But for the 3 days we were there we couldn't use the pool. I feel that they should have gotten someone back out there that same day and cleaned the pool. But no one seemed to care: (

I work in a hotel myself, so I only want the best. This place was great. Friendly staff and clean room. The door was a bit loud but that's my only complaint. I would definitely come again.

First time staying here with my family for my brother wedding best experience ever down here we enjoyed our self staff was awesome an friendly we will b back in a couple weeks an future we found our motel for our vaction for now on the oceaneer motel…

I Love the Oceaneer Motel. My favorite place in Carolina Beach NC. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. I always stay here on vacation. If you want to beach right on the beachany room is good, but the best room to stay as close to the beach as possible, is room 327. We Love the friendly staff, too.
