It was in a wonderful location. Beautiful river views and close to the historic area and river walk. Bistro restaurant $ bar were better than average. Breakfast was great. Pay the extra $10 or so to get it included. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were fine. Neat and clean. Pool views and river views are nice. For the view, location and amenities and cost, I will give up a little luxury. Well worth it, I would recommend and will return.

I tend towards 5 stars but no way with this place. Always something is off with this hotel and I blame it on the fact their main competition is a nightmare. They do not need to work for business and it shows. First time elevator of this 4 story building was broken all weekend. Really? Next had to wait 3 hours for our room when we had reservations end we were there just before check in. No apologies Nothing to make the long wait easier. This time the room was freezing in an attempt to hide the mildew smell. After it was at 70 you could smell it… like cat urine. They denied any moisture or mildew problem yet our friends had a free standing dehumidifier in their room next door. Hmmm wonder why? Of course no rooms to switch to so woke up completely congested. And the bed was lumpy with dips you literally roll into. Gets 2 stars for location, decor and cafe staff. Pay for a balcony room where you can get fresh air or if staying 2 plus nights opt for AirBNB.

Beyond Expectations! We went here for the weekend really looking for a quiet time away. The room was nice, spacious and I loved the small balcony. We were waterfront and the view was stunning. Just a view is not enough to earn 5 stars. When we checked in the staff were helpful and professional. Later when we decided to have dinner in the hotel the bistro not only had really good food but great services. All in all the 24 hours we spent in New Bern was very refreshing and I believe in part that was because of the overall experience of the hotel. We will be back.

Room was clean and inviting. The staff was courteous and friendly. Loved the location, very close to all the downtown shops and restaurants.

Loved staying here, the location is great with beautiful views from the rooms that face the water. The shrimp boats return in the evenings all lit up making for some great photos. I would recommend staying here to anyone, the staff was very welcoming and courteous.

Clean modern rooms, some with great views of the river. Extremely courteous staff. Beautiful location right by the river, with convenient access to restaurants. The Starbucks in the lobby is nice, if you like Starbucks. It bothers me that the only free coffee in the hotel is the single serve pseudo coffee in the room.

Wonderful room with view of river off balcony. Very clean, comfortable beds. Staff was excellent. Great location right in downtown New Bern.

Not worth the money as extremely expensive. Bed hard as rock. Toilet paper just as hard. Breakfast good. No view. Don’t waste your time staying here. Clean but that’s it.

Stayed here for a month for work. Friendly staff. Clean, spacious rooms (though finding a working power outlet became a challenge in some of the rooms I stayed in). Great views of the river. The only thing that could make it better would be free breakfast. Overall, a great hotel.

It was a lovely short stay. The room was nice and clean. I loved the view of the river. It was an easy walk to downtown Restaurants and shops. Only complaint was that the elevator is broken, otherwise, it was a lovely stay and recommend.

Stayed two nights at the Courtyard Marriott in New Bern, NC while visiting for a friend's wedding. Contracted bed bugs. Tried calling the hotel and leaving messages for their GM and other members of the team several times in order to deal with this matter privately and confidentially. Unfortunately, I haven't received a call back from anyone at the hotel regarding their follow up with their pest control company — — Nor do I believe they needed the pest control's confirmation of infestation as proof had they asked for photo evidence, more information, OR had gotten on the phone with me upon my first attempted call. It's approaching a weeks time from my stay at this hotel, and the ramifications are still miserable and agonizing. Also their elevator is out of order until December.

Appreciate the fact that they gave us 3 days notice via email that elevator was out of order which meant we could either choose to still stay, which we did, or go elsewhere. Hotel is clean and service is good. Location is great with good river view and close to historic town restaurants what’s at within walking distance.

Nice hotel that has what I would call "standard amenities". Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and considerate. The best part of the rooms are the views of the water. 4th floor has the best views and I believe that every room has a balcony that takes advantage of the great location. Easy walking distance to convention center that is located across the street.

There is no free breakfast at Courtyard Marriott! I did not know this when I booked with them. The rest of the stay was fine. Clean rooms, and a beautiful view from the waterfront ones. No Ethernet port in the rooms either.

The Courtyard is a great place to stay in New Bern. Rooms are nice, large, and comfortable. The location is perfect, right on the sound with a nice view, and easy walk into the downtown areas. There is a nice back patio/pool with comfortable padded chairs, for reading and listening to the water and sea birds.

Nice clean comfortable rooms. We enjoyed our stay as we spent the night in New Bern after taking the Cruise the Neuse river cruise. The Bistro served a delicious breakfast too.

Gorgeous location right on the river with a pavilion and a pool overlooking the river. Pillows get a little flat though. Great bistro with Starbucks coffee in the lobby.

I absolutely love this hotel! Every time I come back to North Carolina we have to visit New Bern and we stay here! The staff is friendly and the rooms are very nice.

The Courtyard Marriott is on the water in between Union Point Park and persimmons. Most of the good nightlife and restaurants are within a block of this place you couldn't ask for a better location. The staff is very friendly and professional and the rooms are large well furnished and clean overall I quite enjoyed this hotel.

Older facility badly in need of updating, however no major complaints. Rooms are quite small, and if you are claustrophobic, you won't like the elevators at all. If you are expecting a high end property, it's not that. If you are thinking an ok budget type hotel, this works. I would stay there again, but don't go in thinking anything more than a budget style hotel.

Very nice location, Marina in the back, and a beautiful park on the river front a short walk away. Beautiful views of the river. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Best location for walking to the shops and sights of New Bern. Since its right on the water, this Doubletree has great views inside and out. Holiday decorations were lovely and not overdone, the staff was friendly, and both buildings of the hotel were very clean. Wifi was supposed to be complimentary, and it seemed to connect automatically, but I kept getting a message of "you are offline. " It was not essential for this trip so I never checked it with the hotel staff; it may have been my device. We never tried the restaurant since we had a microwave and fridge in the spacious room to keep our leftovers from the delicious local cuisine. I expected the rooms to be smaller, but there was a foyer with a closet that had 2 real doors when you entered the room and lots of storage throughout. Comfortable beds and seating as well a French balcony made it a place Is return to.

Our room was very modern, with the exception of the bathroom which needed updated but served the purpose. I did get an uneasy feeling when I laid down on the bed to sleep, looked at the ceiling and saw dirty cobweb above me. The continental breakfast left a little to be desired in my opinion. We loved the view from our top floor room and the rates were great. I would recommend this hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel on more than one occasion. Both sides have very nice views. The location is close to town, but off the beaten path which I liked. The king size bed is very comfy. Rooms were clean. If I had to be critical it would be that the carpet and bathroom was a little worse for the wear. However, I will definitely be back again!

I stayed for a week. One day before check out I was having a hard time breathing. Then I saw that mold had grown on the wall beside the AC and on the windowsill. It grew there overnight. I packed my things to leave right away because of the reaction I was having. When I showed a picture of it to the lady at the desk she called manager. They didn't charge me for the night I wouldn't be there, and gave me a 15%discount off the night that the mold grew. That is not acceptable to me. I was too sick to argue. By then, I was having a hard time breathing, my chest was aching, I had a rash on both arms, and the were spots on my chest and neck that are burning. Do not stay in this hotel!

This is an older remodeled hotel and for the money is a great deal. The staff was wonderful, the rooms nice, the bedding excellent and the breakfast very good. I had a great waffle. The bathroom could stand a remodel but was clean and well stocked. The location was good on the rivers and views were very nice from all rooms.

Rooms not ready. Told rooms would not Be available by 4pm at 4:20 pm still not available had meeting at 5pm needed to change staff was overwhelmed with problems and lack of clean rooms. Would think they would be more professional with prices for these rooms. Halls are hot and smelly, elevator was broken as seen in previous post must be a recurring problem. Nothing you would expect with a Hilton name attached. This place feels more like motel 6. Staff were clueless and had "oh well" attitude. "Have a cookie for your troubles"

Overall the hotel is nice. It has a great restaurant and lounge with an outdoor deck and pool. Upon check in the give you fresh baked cookies which was a nice touch. I was given a different hotel room than what I booked. Apparently the room they gave me had a much better view of the river and I was given a voucher for food/drinks at the hotel. I had a fun experience at this hotel and would book here again.

Hands down the BEST hotel in New Bern! We have stayed for the past 3 years, and love it. Clean, quiet, and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are updated and modern. The food at the Bistro was perfect for a late dinner and breakfast… not to mention the view overlooking the water! Also a big thanks to Kim at the front desk who did me a HUGE favor this past weekend. Thanks Kim!

Only stayed one night, but the room was wonderful and comfortable, the staff were friendly, curteous, and helpful. 10/10 will stay agai.

Rooms were beautiful and the service was excellent. It is the only hotel we will stay at while in New Bern.

Great night at this hotel. We were stranded due to out plane being cancelled. They were able to help us out by getting us a place to sleep that clean and comfortable.

Very nice mid-level hotel with a pleasing, contemporary design. Very nicely appointed public space with a bar/Starbucks combo in the lobby. The room we stayed in had water views, as did the room in which the couple we traveled with stayed, even though they were on the opposite side of the hall. We had a king size bed with a nice sitting area with a sleeper sofa. We played cards in our room (they brought the wheeled desk chair down from their room), and it was very comfortable. The hotel is an easy walk to charming shops & great restaurants. We are planning a retirement trip with our granddaughter.

It was a truly wonderful experience. A couple of my friends and I were roaming around Union Point, jay chillin', and since it was after dusk, the public restrooms outdoors were locked. So we figured if we walked up into the hotel as if we were staying there, we wouldn't be questioned. So sure enough, we walked in and went straight the the restrooms (which were very clean by the way, nice job! ). I was able to urinate and not develop crippling urinary tract pains. Then we left quietly and went about with our night. Thanks for your service!

Great view. Wonderful location. Elevator a little too slow. Continental breakfast probably wouldn't hurt. Pleasant staff. Guest aren't so kind. Enjoyed the fog forming over the water. Bathroom and furniture in great condition. Modern and up to date.

Make sure to attempt to get a waterfront room. Very nice, well maintained, Internet was free and good. Breakfast paid… eggs, bacon. Options. Nice park next door with good walk area.
