Very clean and professional resort. Rode from Rhode Island to ride the tail of the dragon. The resort is located 20 mins away from deals gap and the roads to get there are just as fun. Stayed in a two bedroom cabin with three adults and it was just right. Cabins are roomy and the kitchen comes stocked with basic plates and silverware. The only thing is food, there isn’t much around so your stuck with the resort food that wasn’t bad but after a few nights on the grounds could get mundane. Plenty to do and see with there own country store, two pools, a lazy river, and plenty of fun activities to keep the family busy. Would visit again!

Beautiful location. The cabins we have stayed at are clean and nicely supplied. The beds are concrete. If there is a problem the maintenance crew is at the door within minutes. These cabins are more of a camping feel. Overall we love it here.

Ended up staying here in accident after getting rained out for camping. Stayed in a two bedroom cabin, the base model, it wasn't much but was clean. The resort staff was friendly and lots of family fun amenities. I highly recommend renting a boat or taking the lake sight seeing tour. Was nice the amenities were free for guests, Mimi golf, lazy river pool etc. Facilities are all a bit dated gives the whole place quasi camping feel.

This place is awesome for families it's like a sleep away camp for families, got a 3 bedroom cabin and they always take care of us with extra linens and even an air mattress! This is a fun safe space for families to vacation. Their restaurant has gotten better every year as well and was really great this year, one of the best spots to eat around the area! Highly recommended!

We were pleasantly surprised at the quaintness of this resort. All the in site activities we did were free to staying guests (pools, mini golf, disc golf, hiking tours, etc. ). The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are all kinds if amenities available including an ice cream shop in the villa. The only disappointment was the fitness room which was hard to find and very poorly equipped with old and out-of-date machines (just a few). Overall, a great place that we will return to with our children.

Restful space with a lovely fireplace and rock decor. We stopped overnight after hiking the AT, and a storm knocked out the power. The next morning, the restaurant still prepared a basic hot breakfast, which we enjoyed by the windows with a beautiful view of the mountains. Though a little dated, it's clean and comfortable. It's within driving distance of the Nantahala River and outdoor activities.

There are nicer cabins and crappy cabins. We were in a cabin with mice at first. After seeing more than four mice once we had set traps. We went to ask for another cabin. The cabin down the hill was empty but we wanted to check it out. When we did… it had mice too. These are not in woods cabins where you expect mice. These are basically modular homes. We finally go back the four night and ask for them to do something else. Donna was wonderful. She checked the system, gave us a discount and moved us to an upgraded cabin. DONNA saved us. While I appreciate what she did… why did the first person not do this for us after we had been complaining each night. Thank you Donna!

This is one of my favorite vacations of all time. The accommodations were fantastic. The lodge is beautiful. The grounds couldn't have been prettier. The restaurants full of dynamite food. The pool and lazy river are A+. The Nantahala Forest, the Fontana Dam and the lake are absolutely incredible. You're not going to find a prettier place anywhere else in the Smoky Mountains. We went there for the eclipse and it's just a magical memory that we will never forget. Bring your own Wi-Fi card you'll need it.

The area is breath-taking in the fall. The small streams around the member cabins are charming and lovely to listen to while doing off. We stayed in cabin 524. It was a little run-down, but cozy. It wasn't what we normally expect from a time-share trade. But the surrounding area was awesome. The queen bed was completely uncomfortable, however. I kicked the kids out of the two twins and my wife and I slept on those like we were on a 50s TV show. The only other annoyance was the amount of fart-tipped-exhaust cars around. Thankfully the off-season meant less people staying to ride the Tail of the Dragon, nearby. Just be aware that a lot of things in the area close early November.

My only complaint during the 2 times I have stayed here is the absence of microwaves in the rooms. Other than that the breakfast and service was great. Beautiful veiws and its great to sit on the balcony outside the room on the top floor in privacy aside from the parking lot out front.

Beautyful Village in the Mountain. You can rent Rooms or Cabins. Cabins have every thing you need Pots, Pans Coffee Machine and so on. A cruise on Fontana Lake is nice or you can bring your own boat and go fishing or swimming. There is Pools in the Village, General store, Post office Ice Cream Shop and Laundry Facility.

The location is spectacular! And that's the problem. I read reviews of people coming here for decades, and I think nostalgia was tilting the reviews. Its not a bad place and could be better with some basic changes, but my overwhelming impression is it is a place that doesn't have to try because there isn't any competition in the area. Don't get me wrong I don't want to see a hotel around every curve here, but I just wished they would have made the stay nicer. The check in went slowly. We had a problem with the room and were given grief before they swapped us to a less desirable room. And we had dinner at the restaurant and were completely unimpressed with both our meals and the service. Like I said they don't seem to even want time try.

We rented a cabin with 2 bedrooms and a nice large bath. Such a nice and peaceful village with a long history. Near Fontana Dam and the Dragon trail. Great hiking trails. Fontana Village has lots of festivities planed each week.

Nice place. Great for family.

This is my family's 14th year visiting and we just love it here. They have accommodations for everyone, there's plenty of activities to enjoy and if anything should go wrong with your room or cabin they immediately fix it.

Remote location, perfect to get away from technology for a while. Rooms are basic cabins, nothing fancy. Kitchens have some pots and utensils. Staff is friendly.

Everything was great the cabins are adorable the restaurant is great the service is awesome and zdayz was the event that was going on which was the best time ever.

Went to Fontana for the Minis on the Dragon event. The resort was well cared for and clean and the staff was friendly. We stayed at the Tapoco Lodge, so I can't comment on the accommodations.

I stayed at the cabins and they were nice. Some things I would like fixed though. Our bedroom door didn't shut unless you tugged it to the left. The parking was bad. They need to repave it. But other than that it was nice. I stayed for the Genesis Run.

Can be a little expensive, but their hospitality is good.

Fontana Village is an excellent getaway for both couples and Families! And as odd as it may sound, my wife & I find it as pleasant off season as on. Even with the pools and the grill closed for the winter, there's plenty to experience at both the Village any the surrounding area (just make sure your brakes & tires are in tip-top shape). If you start with the upper entrance to Fontana Dam in the morning, you can hit the lower entrance and see two more dams on your way to Robinsville for lunch! It'll make your whole Dam day! :-) For a real treat, find out when Randy Flack is performing. He's an amazing entertainer and storyteller; truly unforgettable. We'll be going back to Fontana Village: see you there…

Cozy spot up in the hills.

I recently stayed at Fontana Village Resort and found the resort grounds well kept, while the lobby's floor-to-ceiling windows didn't hide the area's mountain views, the resort also offered lots of parking. Resort staff were welcoming and helpful and the hostess and servers at Mountview Restaurant, their on-site restaurant, were just as pleasant. My room was clean upon my arrival and the room's furnishings were up-to-date (I stayed in a lodge room). One thing to note was that the resort's Internet Wi-Fi was only available in their lobby (my room was nearby so the signal strength was decent enough). Overall, I enjoyed my stay and wouldn't mind staying at Fontana Village Resort in the future.

It is a nice getaway if you want to stay away from technology for awhile. They do have Wi-Fi, but since there is no cell service, the Wi-Fi is hit or miss with so many people using it. If you are looking for a getaway with no technology in the Great Smoky Mountains, then this is a great place!

Beyond the pool being out of commission our entire stay, the general store was appalling. The egregious price gouging was explained as "The price is good if you are from New York"… As a hiker on the Appalachian trail, who depends on towns like this to resupply the food I need to survive, should have heeded the warning given at the N. O. C. Basically avoid Fontana, just keep going. When the vendor price stickers on chips were marked out with black marker, I knew I was in trouble. Fortunately I was able to get a ride to the nearest grocery store, where sane minds prevail. Most people who depend on you to resupply are not so lucky.

No, it is not a luxury resort. But it a great place to get away and the people here are some of the greatest, friendliest people we have ever met in a resort or retreat environment. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home as part of the family. Well worth the visit and stay and the surrounding area is beautiful and relaxing.

Great staff, great location. Perfect for great mountain scenery and cruising the Tail of the Dragon. Recommended highly!
