Checked in they were really busy and the attendant wasn't the friendliest. The atmosphere is more conducive to business than meeting customer needs. I have received better service from hotels that are 3 star rating. Don't think I would stay at a Hilton again. I had an issue with my air conditioning in the room and they gave me a handicap room as well. I went to ask for a room change the lady stated that they were having issues with other rooms and the a. C. Though she did change my room. This room had a sink that wouldn't drain properly and the shower head that when turned on did not come on completely. I told the man at the front desk and he said he would have maintenance take care of it. I left the room for a night and returned the following day with the same issue. Over priced and you could get better service at a Homewood suite.

I stayed one night over the weekend. The hotel room was fairly large. It took an abnormal amount of time to check in. However, the receptionist (I believe his name was Alfred) was very nice and accommodating. The hotel may or may have not overbooked online which is why our check in was delayed. I believe we were given one handicap room due to no other ones being available at that time. The bathroom was not spotless. The sheets were not soft nor were the towels. Other than those things my short stay was nice.

Great place to have conference. Third time here. Really pleasant and accommodating staff. As all hotels take a sweater. Food great. Recommend seafood hush puppies and cheese cake.

Well kept rooms, the food is pricey and yummy. Chick fil A is within walking distance. The staff is professional and helpful, one elevator has floor mislabeled and its fun to play "guess what floor you are on". We had a great time and will stay there again.

My family has been staying here for years. Just very few issues, and those are always resolved quickly by the hotel. The room service is surprisingly good for not much more than a night at a sit down restaurant. My hamburger was huge and tasted great. My son enjoyed the pool. All the staff was great.

It's a great hotel and we come every year. This year we had issues though. The person checking us in refused to do the add on for the executive Lounge which we have done every year. He even went to the back and said he talked to the manager and the manager said no. After a while, I asked another employee about it and added it on afterwords without refusal. But other than that, it's a great stay.

Terrific and friendly staff. They were very accommodating when I had request. My rooms (I booked a room while I was already there) were clean and beds were comfortable. Location is near lots of shopping and attractions. I'll definitely be staying there again.

Front counter pleasantly from Jasmine, her stated goal of enjoying making guests completely enjoy their stays as within her power was achieved. It's not always about upgrades. After 15 consecutive years as a diamond, I lost my status this year falling to Silver. That did not matter to Jasmine; rather, my longevity with Hilton is what was considered. Thank you, Ms. Jasmine. Nice stay, well done.

Convenient location and close to university of north Carolina Charlotte. There are a ton of meeting and food spots adjacent to this hotel. Specifically, there Chain restaurants and a buffet that is suitable Family travel. I will say this will tell a slightly pricier than those in the area. Overall, I definitely recommend this hotel.

The staff was awesome! Super friendly and willing to help. Room was nice, bathroom was a bit small. Fantastic!

We were in Charlotte for an AAU basketball tournament and chose to stay at one of here which is one of our "go to" hotels when in the Queen City area! The Hilton Charlotte University is always an excellent choice. Clean rooms. Professional Staff. Helpful Concierge. It is only minutes away from Concord Mills shopping, IKEA outlet, and great places to eat and Downtown Charlotte. Rooms are clean and my shower was great after a long day of coaching basketball. Always a great stay!

I really enjoyed coming here for mad monster party! The only thing that I can really say is it seems that they don't really have enough space to host that type of event. I'm pretty sure that was a fire code violation. You could barely even move. Really hard to be able to even look at the merchandise to purchase anything due to being overcrowded. That's really the only thing that I can complain about. They also offer really good rates for those who wish to stay the weekend. I'd highly recommend because the rooms are nice. Oh and parking. Parking absolutely sucked. I believe we drove around for at least 20 minutes trying to get a spot and where we parked was up against a curb not even a real spot! Lol.

My stay was ok. It would have been nice, when making reservations, to know it was a convention of devil worshippers. I would have stayed at another hotel. I had to endure the smell of weed when going outside. The water in the bathroom sink would not go down. The lights went off, I had to get dress in the dark and being that I had already had a heart attack; walking down eight flights of stairs was not what I wanted to do. This was suppose to be the beginning of great memories of a sisters trip. Your hotel couldn't do absolutely anything to accommodate us for the many inconveniences. We should had gotten something in way of a discount or a free stay. We didn't get what we paid for. Thanks for nothing.

WOW! Where do I start? Our stay at this location was beyond impressive. The staff at every turn made this seem like a five star resort. Sometimes it was as if they were reading my mind. The staff were always inviting, friendly, and helpful. The location itself was beautiful and inviting. There room was well appointed and the executive lounge was wonderful. The lounge allowed for some great views at the surrounding area including the pond/lake behind it that offered walkways with shops and even paddle boats for warmer times. This location had multiple restaurants and bars onsite. There were also shopping and restaurants within walking distance. A very short drive from Concord Mills as well. I can not wait until we can return again.

I got a room that has a very bright spotlight shining right into the window all night long. The curtains do not shut all of the way to block out the light. The room does also not really have hot water. It gets mildly warm. It does, however, have comfortable beds. The rooms are modern in appearance and the hotel staff are responsive.

Visited this hotel to meet family during a wedding weekend. It has a great location vs the other surrounding hotels, right next to shops and restaurants. The large lobby was professionally maintained and quite open and airy. Definitely would stay here if I am ever back in the area.

This was my second stay and I have to say service was consistent from last time. The staff are professional and accessible even when busy. Great place to stay for work out play.

It's well located, it's place is clean, the staff are friendly, the dining options in and outside the hotel are good. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that there was some hair that was left in the tub of the bath from the last guest, but nothing major. Overall I really enjoyed my stay! I would recommend for anyone looking to visit Charlotte's campus for football or for touring it as a college prospect. It's very near a train station and is a pretty short walk away from the campus. (There are not sidewalks the whole way so use caution)

One of my favorite hotels in Charlotte. Situated near a lake. Has amazing party halls. Stayed here for my engagement. Overall good experience. Staff very friendly. And best part, they have amazing lake fountain where you can get amazing pictures taken. Also the lake is huge so you can take a walk around it and eat at few good restaurants around the lake.

I booked my room for my trip later than I should have, but was excited to be staying at this well reviewed location. Before arriving, I received an e-mail stating that I could upgrade my stay to gain access to an executive lounge as well as a continental breakfast. Being I had booked so close to my trip, I didn't have the extra time to look into this more before arriving, but I took a note to ask about it when I arrived. Upon arriving, I checked in at the front desk and inquired about the upgrade that was mentioned in the e-mail. The concierge told me that because I didn't upgrade using the link in the e-mail, I missed out on the upgrade and couldn't get it now that I was there in person. This irritated me greatly, having the convenience of waking up and having breakfast without leaving the hotel is something I always look forward to during my stays. Unable to obtain an upgrade to my stay, I proceeded up to my room. The room was very nice and comfortable inside, but I quickly noticed a whirring sound coming from outside. I looked out the window and saw that several stories below my room was the central A/C unit operating at full speed. I'm a very sensitive sleeper and that consistent noise made it frustrating to sleep through the night. My stay wasn't ruined by these inconveniences, but they definitely took away from the enjoyment of staying at this location.

Absolutely adorable place. Good food, shopping, paddle boats, hotels and a playground. And the water is gorgeous! We enjoyed sunsets and sunrises on the walking trail around the water. Can't wait to visit again.

This is a wonderful hotel, with clean rooms, modern décor and what makes this hotel exceptional is the staff. They are courteous, friendly and went above and beyond in making our stay very comfortable. The location was awesome, having the boardwalk with shops and restaurants right out the back door made it so convenient. And the beautiful lake to walk around for some exercise and fresh air! And easy access to the freeway. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in Charlotte!

Great place to stay in Charlotte. About 15 mins from the airport. Hotel is clean and rooms are well maintained. My wife forgot her coat here and they helped us track it down. Would definitely stay again Also ton of food options to choose from nearby.

Nice and clean. Staff was nice and helpful. Great for events like weddings, conventions and family reunions. Room was great. The restaurant and bar was nice. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.

The hotel as a whole was pretty nice, however, my wife and I left a garment there and it mysteriously disappeared. So you tell me how if you call the same day about an hour after you checked out and they say it's not there and they are saying they don't know what happen to the garment. The security is horrible too, you had to call them several times before someone called me back. This definitely made an impression on me and I will definitely tell everyone I know about this. This will definitely be a hotel of last resort.

Brianna Beaufort. The front desk agent made my business meeting there simply remarkable. I felt like I had slip her a bill under the table. She eluded premium customer service. It was a perfect match for the beautiful property.

It was very pretty. It was also very hot. It was so hot that we had to go outside to cool down. In the middle of summer. It was like they forgot to turn on the air conditioning. It was nice and neat looking and the water outside was beautiful.

I visited for the first Queen City Anime Convention. The space was nice and clean, and water was provided. I like the location a lot, and it's located near a really cool boardwalk area. My only complaint is that the venue became very warm. Maybe up the air conditioning next time.

Beautiful location on the Boardwalk. As you enter the Hilton Charlotte University you enjoy pretty landscaping. The entire staff was friendly, and we enjoyed their hospitality throughout our stay. Our room was very nice, and the bed was extremely comfortable. You may stroll around the lake and feed the ducks and geese, rent paddle boats, or sit and be mesmerized with the water fountains. During our stay we witnessed a beautiful outdoor wedding lakeside. We enjoyed strolling through the charming shops and restaurants.

Great accommodations, staff, food and service. Hallways were not cooled, so it made things uncomfortable in June for the pre-reception drinks & hors-d'evours we attended in the hall, just outside the ballroom.

Hotel was very crowded but… Yes it was a hot day but the halls were very hot. 3 other guests had problems with ac and the ballroom was very very hot. Plugs in room did not work and room was not cleaned until after 5 with new towels and we already needed to be showered by then. Toliet ran all night. Elevator and check in lines long. Pool is very nice. Nice location.

Room 935. Clean, well appointed with safe, microwave and refrigerator. Not a fan of the mattress (but I'm picky :-) ) Check in was crowded, but handle with patience by the staff. Didn't experience dining, bar or pool on this visit.

Check in, concierge, and bell staff are all very friendly and helpful. We stayed 4 nights & 2 of the nights we DID NOT have housekeeping service. When I called front desk phone, they asked if I had left the DND sign on the door, and my reply was ONLY until 9:00 am. There should have been PLENTY of time for housekeeping to come back at a more suitable hour to refresh the room. They said they would send someone up right away… but when we got back to the room all they did was leave 3 towels & picked up all of our used ones. No cleaning, no replacement of cups, no making of the bed, nothing. Next day, they "cleaned" & made the bed, but didn't replace coffee supplies, etc. We WERE NOT satisfied! The pool area is amazing with plenty of seating, including cabanas and a pergulum for shade. Beautiful views of the lake, and the boardwalk area was a very short walk to get to shops and reasonable restaurants. Seemed to have quite a number of "systems" issues too. Television kept losing channels. I was on the escalator when it quit midride. And maybe worst of all was the elevator kept "cancelling" floor buttons… happened multiple times, but one one occasion it took me 3 attempts passing my floor one one elevator, hopped off on another floor, got on another elevator to come back down and it did it too… eventually got to my floor. Sometimes it's just not worth it to "complain" in the moment, especially when you've already been inconvenienced.

Pretty nice place. Had lots of room for our event and even included a cash bar and food services. They were very friendly and worked with us in planning the event. I would definitely use them again and appreciate their service.

The hotel is very nice with all amenities. Only issue would be the dated rooms. The shower was an encased unit. I'm tall. I barely fit. Regardless, I'd stay here again.

This is the exact email I sent the hotel after I stayed, upon sending this email I was emailed back trying to persuade me not to post my review with a mere 10, 000 Hilton points. The manager said in his email reply " I want to submit 10, 000 Hilton honors points to your account as small gesture of good faith to turn this stay around and to kindly ask you not to publicly share this on social media. " Here is the email I sent, and hence the reason for my review, one thing I did forgot was the water was brown for about the first 2 days of my stay as well: My experience at your hotel was one of the worst I have had at a Hilton brand, let alone any property that I have ever stayed at. From my arrival, I was greeted to a double room bed, when I should of received a single king. After about a 30 minute process I was able to get a single king room. Upon entering, I noticed the air was not working. It was over 80 degrees everyday so I called to ask for it to be fixed. I then went to work the next day and returned again to have the air not working. I called again and the front desk said it would be fixed. This happened every day up until my last day of stay and finally on the last day was only offered a fan. THE AIR WAS never fixed. The on;y thing other than the fan that was offered to me, was a free drink by your bartender, and a free breakfast of which I was already receiving. I will be posting this on internet websites. Very disappointed in our stay. The room was adequate, but the A/C stopped working during the night. From speaking with other guests, it appeared to be a widespread problem. The restaurant was horrible. Food, when it finally did arrive, was cold and undercooked. The one saving grace was our server at the restaurant. She was kind and comped a dessert for us due to the poor experience. On top of all this, 20 minute waits for one of the three working elevators. Will never recommend this location.

Let's start with when I arrived from Atlanta, I was so proud of myself for picking a hotel centrally located and it's surrounded by everything and even has a satellite Starbucks I'm staying in room 620, when I entered I loved everything about the room, decor and all. I'm on a mini vacation so I have lots planned this weekend, I leave to go shopping and to the comedy club and when I came back to the hotel, at around midnight — the bathroom smelled like someone pooped in it, and the sink had a weird odor. I decide to speak with front desk, who sent someone up in the morning that did absolutely nothing. I figured housekeeping must have known about the issue because no one even bother to knock to see if fresh towels were needed the next day. We left the hotel to grab lunch and when we returned back to the hotel I had a note from the hotel — I took a picture of it. The smell wasn't in the bathroom any longer and I looked in the shower and mildew is around the shower head. Running water from the sink has a stench or maybe the sink again. I don't normally stay at hotels, but this experience makes me what to definitely stick with Airbnb when I need to find travel accommodations in other cities.

Was there for a conference-type event. The Wi-Fi didn't work very well with the number of people that were there. Food and conference rooms were good though.

The staff are really professional and helpful. The hotel is bright and clean. It's also in a great location. There are several nice restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.

Had a business meeting over breakfast in the restaurant at the Hilton. Staff were on top of things, and the environment was very nice and relaxed, with no noise at all. Overall, it was a great spot to have a bite and talk business.

Nice hotel with excellent state employee rates. Plush beds, clean rooms, free parking, microwave and empty fridge. A few minuses: bathroom faucet not attached firmly to counter. Curtains didn't close fully. Common one: Wi-Fi didn't permit chromecast. Give up the ppv battle guys!

Wonderful stay! The staff is amazing and the rooms are very comfortable. The beds are super comfy also. Location wise, you can't go wrong! Restaurants, shopping and the boardwalk are within walking distance. Great for families, couples or a solo getaway. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great stay. Spacious room. Helpful staff. Only issue with the place was the noise. There was a constant drip in the refrigerated which made working at the desk annoying. There was a hum from the smoke detector which could be heard while falling asleep. The worst was the air conditioning unit which sounded like someone slamming a door every time it kicked on. Other than the noise it was a great stay.

The one night we stayed here seemed to be an incredibly busy one for the hotels. Most hotels in the city were full, including this one, due to an event in the city. On top of that, the hotel hosted two massive events of its own, a wedding and a fraternity reunion. This made the parking situation outside a madhouse. People were parked up on curbs and anywhere they could possibly find to leave their vehicle. This obviously made parking for us quite an odyssey. Despite that, the hotel was great. The outside looks incredibly dated, but that isn't the case in the rooms and lobby, though the showers could use a bit of an update. Overall, I'd stay again.

Nice hotel with upscale accommodations and helpful staff. The weekend we were there they hosted a Gypsy wedding and a bible revival right across from each other. Fire alarm got pulled in the middle of the night. It was a wild weekend to say the least!

Great, clean, bright hotel. Friendly, helpful front desk staff. Only negative was noisy neighbors in room next to ours. Maybe soundproofing could be improved!

Rooms were clean with comfortable beds and more amenities than advertised. The food in the hotel restaurant was very good and reasonably priced for the quality and convenience. All of the staff I dealt with were friendly and knowledgeable.

5 star service. Room was the bee's knees. Breakfast with Christina was a treat.

Customer Service at this hotel, mainly the front desk, is awful. The worst I've ever experienced in my life. As a hotel employee I know that this is not how hospitality services are supposed to handle situations and as a Hilton brand employee I was downright horrified. The front desk at check in was incompetent at best at worst she just didn't care. With all the problems I had with my room, I called down and every single time it was handled to the bare minimum. I was charged for things that I did not use and they didn't even acknowledge the issue whatsoever. All in all, the hotel staff could not be bothered to take care of guest and the event planning staff couldn't even communicate with each other enough to be on the same page. Horrible stay!

Room was clean and comfortable but the air conditioner would vibrate when it was on. I had to lean a chair against it to keep it from vibrating at night. We enjoyed the view and boardwalk area. Lidia was our waitress the first day at breakfast and had the best service and smile. She wasn't our waitress the next day but still remembered us, spoke, and had that same great smile and looked like she enjoyed her job. Chelsea at the front desk spoiled our visit with her bad attitude when we asked about breakfast vouchers. It's not about what she said, it was how she said it. Not sure she is cut out for service position. Wouldn't want her as the face of my company. Spoke to manager Jeremiah and said he would speak to her but I'm not too confident. Overall good stay but probably won't stay at this particular Hilton again.

I have never stayed at a hotel with a LOUDER cleaning crew. Seriously it is like they have no idea they are working in a nice hotel. BANGING the doors repeatedly, yelling to each other down the hall, knocking on the door at 9:00 a. M. LOUDLY even when there's a Do Not Disturb sign. I have no idea if they are all new, or perhaps teenagers, or what, but it's a very unpleasant experience to hear what sounds like a high-school hallway recess outside your door. The hotel itself is nice, the exec lounge folks were wonderful, but if you want quiet, good luck.

Every one of my guest needs were meet from room service to house keeping. I have to admit, I came down with a rowdy, loud, partying, vacation crowd but hotel staff and security handled the 4 day event with the utmost professionalism, control and mutual respect. I will be back next year. If they'll have us. Lol.

The location is nice next to the lake, and the facilities are well-kept. The staff was courteous, our room was clean, and the food at the restaurant was great. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who has to stay in the area.

If you want a quiet stay, I would agree with a previous customer, and suggest you bring ear plugs. I had been traveling all day and called Hilton's Diamond Desk to see what was available in the UNCC area of Charlotte for that night. There was a Hampton Inn and the Hilton. For the same points, I could get a full-service hotel so I chose the Hilton. I was booked into a lake-side facing King Room. When I arrived, there was no lake-side facing King Room available so I was offered a suite on the concierge floor. However, because the suite was located right next to the Concierge Lounge, I didn't want to deal with the noise next door, so I politely declined the upgrade. They gave me a King Room which had an air conditioner compressor just outside the room on the building top just below the window, that turned on/off every 5-10 minutes. I requested a different room. This room had an air conditioner duct that wouldn't stop vibrating which would have made for a restless night as well. I asked for and was given another room, but it was located adjacent to a mechanical room in the hallway and you could hear the elevator motor. I finally asked to be put back in my original King Room where I dealt with the compressor noise. The next morning, housekeepers had no regard for guests who may still be sleeping as they were slamming doors and shouting in the hallway. When I checked out, the Guest Service Rep never asked how my night was, so I asked if she wanted to know.

This is the best hotel we ever stayed in — whenever we are in the area, this is the place we choose. My husband and I got stranded in Charlotte this past weekend, because the interstate was closed, due to a vehicle accident, on I-85 South. By the time we finished our business at a car dealership, it was too late to drive back to Graham, NC. The Hilton Charlotte University Place had a room available and we collapsed there after a very trying day. The man who checked us in gave us both a complimentary beverage and dessert or appetizer, because of our ordeal. That really came in handy, because we ate our first meal that day at 9:30 p. M. The waitress in the restaurant was so caring, and the food was incredible. A fabulous experience. These people treated us better than our best friends do.

I booked this stay thinking I was booking a room at a Hampton Inn, my hotel of choice when I travel. While finalizing my travel plans, I realized that the reservation was for the Hilton and that the room was a little pricey by my standards. I decided to indulge myself. The hotel is nice enough. The staff was particularly attentive and friendly. The room was just another hotel room. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable. The air conditioning unit is noisy. Every time it kicked in, It woke me up. I woke up for good at 5:30. Waited until 6 AM only to find that there was no complimentary continental breakfast. I would not choose to stay here again. I would have rated it "okay" but when you consider the price versus the amenities, I rated it "disliked".
