Review of Days Inn 2*

NEVER AGAIN! This place was booked under a special rate but let me begin by saying it's not worth the $61. I would not value this room or location any more than $30 it's a total ripoff. I arrived and got checked in while the front desk guy was pleasant he did nothing to welcome me or tell me about anything. I had to ask and be shown a map of where to find the room. When I did find the room it smelled like someone had just been smoking in it. I called up to the front desk and told him and he asked me to come back up there but says "you didn't use anything did you" no I literally walked in picked the phone up and called you. So he moved me to the backside at my request so I can see my car. This room smelled like smoke and an overwhelming smell of musty mildew. OMG it's bad too not just a little annoying I had to go to Food Lion and get some cleaning supplies and spent over an our cleaning pure filth, dust, dirt and grime out of the A/C unit. First thing I usually check is the filter. This unit and filter looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years! The amount of effort it took to scrub the grime and whatever they have been spraying in the unit to try and mask the smell was horrid. The place is in disrepair and honestly needs to be stripped of it's branding it does not hold true to either Days Inn or Wyndham standards for sure. The amount of time I spent cleaning your A/C unit because it was spewing out the most offensive putrid smells was appauling. I should have been paid for the time and effort I spent cleaning my own room. I wiped YEARS of built up dirt, dust, grime, mildew and whatever else out of that thing. The whole thing has a yellow tint from the smoke I'm sure. It still needs to have coil cleaner and a deep cleaning but it's to an acceptable point to where I can breathe at least. I have never seen a place so bad before and with the state of disrepair that I'm seeing here. You legit are directly in the path of planes taking off and landing so it's very loud but in 145 I had to use my slides because the floor feels icky. The carpet is separating before the bathroom as well. The smoke detector is missing altogether. The area to hang your clothes is hanging to the wall about to fall off. The toilet runs on and off continuously, the shower head has very low pressure. There's cobwebs in the light fixtures. Just pure laziness going on here. I'm very very disappointed and mad I spent my hard earned money on this place. So I recommend if you have other options pick them first. This place doesn't deserve your money in its current shape and state. I'm really at a loss here. I can't believe this place carries the Wyndham or Days Inn name. The company need to look into this property ASAP.
