Very pretty view and super clean!

The lady at check in was a pleasure to deal with and made the process pretty seamless. The room was good, but was by the ice machine. My dog gets jumpy from noises outside and he barked a few times when people got ice. Not the hotel's fault, just a remark. The only issue I had was the bathroom fan disnt work, so showers made it impossible to shave unless I left the door wide open.

There were bugs in my room, fruit flies and flies. The room was not clean, the air conditioner blew not too cold and smelled of mold. One of my business associate's room was not cleaned, hair behind the toilet and nail clippings on the floor. This hotel needs a remodel for sure. The A/C guy was there telling the owner that some kind of rubbering needs to be replaced and filters need to be cleaned correctly if not it causes mold as it was in the hotel. I would give ZERO stars if able when we checked in the clerk has no clue what he was doing. Will not return, do not recommend, the mattresses are very old as well.

Modern room. Handrail for getting into bath tub. Air conditioning did not have an odor. Plump pillows comfortable bedding.

Do not recommend. The place is very outdated. Noticed it smelled as soon as we got to the 4th floor. Our rooms smelled musty, old, and just plain gross. Ventaliation was awful. Quite frankly it was hard to breathe the air in our rooms. The beds were very hard and the sheets made me feel itchy all night. Not to mention my sheets smelled musty and old as well. I did not get a good nights rest due to the condition on my room/sheets. Honestly I have no idea why this place has such a good rating, because it really doesn't deserve it. However, the pool and breakfast area were not too bad and the staff I interacted with was friendly. As far as the rooms go, they were pretty awful.

AC blew hot air. TV remote didn't work. Overpriced for such basics to not work.

Not terribly impressed. First of all, the approach to the hotel is… creepy. Particularly at night. The drive goes steeply uphill and there is no sign that the hotel is up there. I was trusting the GPS. As you go up the drive you pass several abandoned buildings and, at night, you feel like you are being lead into some sort of trap. (Two women traveling alone) Once there, the accommodations are adequate. The desk is not exactly always manned. The desk attendant will be outside, smoking cigarettes or you must ring a bell for service. When you check out, you leave your key cards in a drop box. If you look above the construction vehicles the view is lovely as it is all around that area. The mountains are beautiful. The tourist town of Asheville is about a half hour from the hotel. But I wouldn't choose to go again.

Comfy, clean, the guy at the front desk was so sweet even tho we got there at 1 am because of traffic.

Decent place but staff are weird.

Close enough to everything you need yet secluded enough to be relaxing. Wi-Fi is free. Pool is open. Good view.

Anniversary Outing with the spouse and the pooch. Quiet stay and breakfast included. Can't beat that.

Very welcoming. The price is right as well. Clean, lots of towel and the people that works their are nice.

Stayed here over New year's since the Asheville hotels we're double $. Not bad, rooms were updated and very clean.

Great location on top of the hill. The staff was very accomodating for my semi-truck to be parked on their property. The room was inviting, and the bed was very comfortable. All around, my stay was a good one.

Nice and clean room. Comfort Inn was able to get me a room last minute. Great continental breakfast and a friendly staff.

Large room, clean, quiet. Close to everything that this small college town has to offer. (Even a Starbucks)! Staff was friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was good. Would stay there again.

Quick and easy check — in. There room was spacious with mini fridge and other conveniences. Very easy on and off the highway and close to our event location. Would stay again.

Check in & checkout were quick & easy. The rest of the stay was disappointing. The room was horrendously dusty with stained carpet and a nonfunctional phone. Manager responded quickly to the fixable parts of the situation. However, staff in general is lackadaisical, disinterested and non responsive. General access computer was unusable. Staff response was, "Well, you have a tablet; don't you? " Internet access is slow. Overall not the experience I expected.

Not a clean hotel. Room smell was unbearable. Hallway was heavily deodorized to the point of making me sick to my stomach. DON"T stay unless you can check it out for yourself before committing to see if it is satisfactory to your standards, it wasn't for me and we left after 10 minutes, even though we couldn't cancel our reservation. I will NEVER stay here or recommend to anyone, friend or foe.

This was a great stay. The room was fresh smelling, cool, and looked great. The bed was really comfortable. The convenience of a refrigerator meant I had a cool drink in the morning. Getting online was easy. Perhaps most importantly… the staff was friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel, the bathroom and room were nice, the shower had good water pressure. The hotel itself is secluded which is nice but there isn't much in walking distance. The breakfast room is out of the way which makes it a little less crowded. The elevator is a little slow, there's an outdoor pool but I didn't get in it. The parking lot has plenty of parking and there's an adjacent parking lot that trucks could park in. The hotel is at the top of a pretty steep hill so if it's icy you may need AWD or a locking diff.

My grandma and I recently stayed on a road trip. The lady at the front desk was the sweetest person in the whole world. She even called up to our room after checking in to make sure everything was okay. The breakfast was awesome, huge variety of food! Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

Clean and comfortable. Bed was super comfortable. Overall a very generic hotel experience. Would stay here again if I was in the area.

The hotel was clean. The staff was very nice and respectful. The breakfast was not good and the location is basically on top of a small mountain, so good luck trying to walk anywhere.

It wasn't that bad, just kinda crowded for such a small place.

Better than expected! In need of a weekend away, I booked a night at Comfort Inn Mars Hill, NC Hotel for me and my fiancée. I hoped the suite would be nice with all of the standard features a room should have. Once checked in (hours early — thank you Comfort Inn Mars Hill, NC) we found that the layout of the room was absolutely wonderful. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The parking was convenient and simple. The getaway was a success in large part to the fact that this hotel had a very comfortable feel. My search for the perfect fit is found — this will be our place of choice from here on out.

Crooks! Highway Robbery at its best! NEVER staying here again! We were in the area hiking at Mt. Mitchell, we were exhausted and only slept and showered. We didnt even unpack, we cleaned up after ourselves and even made the bed. However, a $22 extra charge appeared on our card. We certainly did not take towels or anything else. I didnt even bother disputing the charge, because it isnt worth the time lost spending an hour on my phone. I wonder how many other people they do this to? Lesson learned! Mediocre. 4th floor room. Room smelled as if some jack wad smoked in it. Bathroom door had a hole knocked in it. Shower head broke.

My first experience at this hotel was fantastic. I was given a room with a view of the mountains and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room itself was clean, cool and comfortable. Don't miss your chance to have a quiet mountain stay in this small but friendly town.

Stayed Summer of 2012. It's a typical Comfort Inn. Beds were not the most comfortable however the place was clean and had a nice outdoor pool.
