Everything was fantastic, until our last day at breakfast. A homeless person came in, with sores all over her face. She was shoving everything she could in her pockets. She was sniffing her nose and digging in her ears, over the food. I complained to the front desk, who then told me "I'm sorry, we can't do anything about it" The breakfast bar attendant said she will clean everything after this woman leaves. Apparently this is behavior that is accepted. I lost my appetite, and left. Totally disgusting.

Nice hotel very convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Several restaurants in the area. Hotel management is taking the pandemic very seriously; grab-and-go breakfasts instead of the usual buffet. I’ve stayed here before and will again.

This best western was allowed to steal $100 dollars from me… they have given me the run-around. Do not stay here. I can't even begin to tell you how unsatisfied I am with their customer service.

The room was clean and bottles of water available for free. Breakfast was good: oats, eggs, fresh fruit, biscuits and gravy, yogurt and cereal. Unfortunately juice machine was down.

Do not stay here! We had crickets in our room. (Not just one we kept finding them at lest 10 a day). Then during quiet hours at 8am they decided to break up concert outside our room and do maintenance work that was loud. When I called the manager he seemed to understand and offered to refund me a night. Great! Thinking I’m going to get half of what I paid. Nope apparently the rooms are not the same price and refunded me the cheaper of the nights. When I called to complain that I was expecting at least half he become rude and defensive and guess what I got rude right back. You don’t treat people and customers the way he did and ended up hanging up on me when I threatened to social on social media. Guess what! I’m posting! Being in customer service you don’t do that! If you are not going to refund half back at least refund for the night I couldn’t sleep! Isn’t that what a hotel room is for sleeping! I went to complain to the best western headquarters and they stand by their hotel and manager. So rude! We had 4 rooms by 4 different couples and they lost business from all of us! Plenty of better hotels in the area we stay at!

Well friendly staff but it is 2am and my neighbors are having a conversation but the TV is also on. Staff not on duty? desk does not answer so walking over but that also useless. Sad
they have solid walls yet noise still wakes you.

Pros-breakfast is included and coffee was good. Staff was friendly. Convenient to Biltmore.
Cons — 1. ZERO noise insulation. You will hear every conversation in the next room and every car door slam. 2. Beds are VERY firm, bordering on hard. 3. Toilet seemed to have a slow flush, almost seemed to be backing up. 4. Musty room smell.
Probably will choose another hotel if visiting again.

The pool and breakfast were pretty much as good as one would expect, but the rooms weren't as nice. It smelled like it used to be a smoking room, the door wasn't very soundproof, and the toilet seat wouldn't stay up. There also wasn't an elevator so we had to haul everything up and down the stairs. It was good enough for one night but we probably wouldn't stay again.

The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. Thr kids enjoyed the pool. The only issue was when we unloaded our things in our room my son put his water bottle down on the bed without realizing the cap was not screwed on properly and by the time we realized water had soaked through all the bedding. We asked for new bedding, which they brought quickly, but they did not have adequate bedding to make up the bed properly. We had to improvise, but it worked out alright.

I travel with 2 dogs and this was the perfect place for our 2 day stay. I requested a room that would be away from a lot of people traffic and they gave me a back corner room next to a huge grassy dog area. It was like having our own private park complete with a Gazebo. The staff at check in was very friendly and accommodating. My room was modern, clean, with a fridge, microwave, and desk area along with a beautiful leather chair and ottoman. The bed was fantastic with bedding similar to a Marriot. My only criticism was they charged $20 per dog per night which upped the reasonable AAA discounted price.

Not terrible but there are a few small issues. The room is a nice size and seemed clean. We were on the back side, away from the road, and there wasn't really much traffic noise. The breakfast is standard (some fruit, baked goods, eggs, sausage, etc) but the coffee is terrible. The staff I interacted with were friendly. The AC unit in our room was noisy when the compressor was running and I actually didn't have much hot water this morning (lukewarm at best). Overall it is fine, especially with earplugs.

Very clean and comfortable hotel. By comparison to other hotels in Asheville, NC, the price was very reasonable. I was fearing the worst, to be honest. We just needed one night's stay, but this hotel would have been very comfortable for an extended stay. It was a very pleasant and welcome surprise after spending 13 hours on the road.

This is a very nice motel, close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, not far from town. Plenty of restaurants in the area. You park right in front of the door. Nice staff, big swimming pool, great breakfast area. Room was well equipped, good bed, and the ac was great! I get hot in a lot of motels, but this one had an ac system that I could set and it really held the temperature well. There was a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, ironing board and hair dryer, grab bar in the shower, good TV. It was great… Not fancy, but perfect if you are looking for a clean, safe, comfortable place in Asheville.

Excellent value for the price. The room was clean, we could bring our dog for a small fee and they gave us a Military discount with ease. Everything was satisfactory and best of all was the quality of the beds/linens: SO comfy. That alone was stellar given it's a 2 star motel. I've stayed at higher rated hotels where the beds were either the same or worse.

Very clean hotel and rooms. Good service. Breakfast was nice and the items did vary from day to day. The only downside was slow to non existent Wi-Fi in the room. Convenient to downtown and the freeway. We would stay there again.

Can not say enough good things about this best western. We were stuck in a heavy storm. Everything was going bad… fast. No rooms for miles and miles. The young lady at the desk was very helpful. A a a. Best Western has never let me down. We travel a lot and every Best Western we have stayed at has been great. Always going above and beyond.

Had a great stay! All staff we came in contact was cheerful and very helpful. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, the pillows were a little thick and firm for my liking but maybe some else might like them. We have a small dog which we paid $20/nt which is fair and one of the reasons I picked this property. Breakfast was fresh with plenty of food options.

This is by far my favorite spot to stay when I visit Asheville. Sometimes the price is a little high so I will wait for a better deal. This location is right off the highway so it's very convenient. I hope to see more great deals in the future.

Something hard to find, breakfast room crowded.

We had 2 rooms & they were nice & clean. There wasn't much noise in the area & we got a good night's sleep. Also used the pool & it was clean, too. We went during the summer and they had a continental breakfast with the normal offering. The only thing was the parking spots were a little on the small size which made for a rather tight fit. Unexpectantly, there was a large festival in town with several live bands playing, numerous booths selling items, & fair type food. Nice surprise that we really enjoyed.

For a 2 star hotel this was actually a very nice stay and the free breakfast was pretty good comparatively speaking. We didn't have a do not disturb sign and the doors could maybe use some better sealing since they open to the outside. But updated TV and bathroom and spacious for a 2 queen room.

This was our 4th night in a Best Western as we made our way across the country. The Asheville location was in a slightly out of the way place, although close to freeways and the Main Street into the downtown area. The main office was nice, staff friendly, room pretty standard and very clean. We were able to get a first floor corner room which worked out perfect as we had a car full of my daughters personal things that we did not want to unload. We also were picking up a puppy and so access to the outside area was perfect. We felt very safe as well.

The room was clean and the bathroom was newly refinished, but the giant poorly patched spot on the bathroom door was an eyesore (room 241). The beds were extremely firm causing back pain the following day. I’ve stayed in worse, but I’ve stayed in much better for the same price.

Good, clean room only 8 minutes from Downtown Asheville. It made for a perfect home base for our family to explore the city and the surrounding area. We enjoyed the included breakfast and the pet friendly room. Decent area out back to service our dog. Would definitely come back.

Motel freshly remodeled! Stayed in a Double w/queen beds. Room was large. All new amenities. Very satisfied! Comfortable and friendly staff. Good breakfast! Will definitely stay here again!

We visited during Thanksgiving and had a small dog with us. They have a backyard area that's great for walking your dog. The hotel is set up so there's lots of privacy with individual rooms accessable from outside (motel style) which works great for pets. The room wasn't large, but was clean and pretty new. I was very happy with the room. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly. The location gives good access to Asheville and the surrounding area.

Being a motor hotel, this property is just fine for what it is and the location was perfect for us. It's very near to many stores and restaurants, and a clear shot to the downtown area. It's also very near the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. (Skip the Parkway Visitor Center and begin your eastward trek at the Folk Art Center instead — you won't be sorry! And you can get the same info. There that you would have at the Visitor Center, yet there's so much more! ) This is the second time I've stayed here this year, and I'd stay again if I was looking for a cheaper sleep and wanted to be in this location. I do have to say, the breakfast could be better — we went out to a restaurant instead.

Staff was great. Breakfast was very good, a little crowded but good food and good attention from staff, all dishes well stocked, good coffee. Everything clean and in good repair. Comfortable mattress. Older building, well kept up in every way, but it's the old motel style — breezeway with doors to outside, outdoor stairs to the rooms, no elevators, breakfast and ice machines in different buildings. Housekeeping staff did a great job.

This was a great motel, not quite as close to downtown Asheville as I had hoped, but a great value. I would stay there again. The staff were amazing and the room was clean. The beds were great and there was plenty of room.

Great place and not at all expensive for what you get. The rooms are very spacious and amazingly quiet. Nice vanity area and a large tv. A big plus is location, close to I40 and downtown. We loved it here!

Great stay. Large clean room, decent beds, best hotel breakfast we have had in a very long time. I would return here without hesitation.

Clean, nice, modern room. Nice, refreshing pool. Free breakfast was good. The staff was friendly. We stayed on the second floor, so had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs, which is fairly normal for a motel. 5 minute drive to downtown Asheville.

Convenient location and clean updated room. Short drive to the downtown area with fun breweries and restaurants. Nice pool if you are inclined. Busy highway but not bothered by traffic noise, a siren on the street is heard though.

We had an outstanding stay at this hotel. I was concerned that the doors were exterior, but I needn't have worried. The hotel was quiet, safe, and clean, and the staff outstanding. The breakfast was excellent, and I appreciated the offering of almond milk. We will definitely recommend this hotel to others and stay here again on our next visit to Asheville!

Nice hotel… It has multiple buildings of hotel rooms. No elevator. However the hotel look to be freshly renovated and everything was clean and work nice. The outdoor pool area was nice. This hotel is excellent for the type of hotel it is. This is not a five-star Resort type Hotel however it's a great place to sleep. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and nice lobby area with breakfast provided in the morning. Staff was friendly too.

Most important — it was clean, close to our destination, and the continental breakfast was decent (one of the better ones I've had). The pool was better than expected, the beds comfy, and the cleaning crew was great. We stayed there for 4 nights. My only complaints — we had an issue with the A/C and we called down to the front desk and they "just made a note of it". We ended up figuring out a solution on our own. The parking lot is small and the spaces tight. The towels at the pool are very small. But I gave it 5 stars anyways because we would still go back despite the few inconviences.

Nice staff, clean rooms, but the walls are super thin. If you need rest this is not the place because you hear every single conversation of the rooms beside or above you. I've laid awake since 2:15 and is now 4:40. Called front desk and they said they would take care of it and all the people did move from the balcony to inside the room but it would be nice if quiet hours were enforced.

Rooms are super clean and extremely up-to-date. I see reviews that say otherwise, so I'm not so sure they stayed at the time they gave the review! The staff we felt with was really nice, and accommodating! We arrived a few hours early for check in, but they allowed us to check in anyway. The free Breakfast was THE BEST I have ever had at any hotel! There was a large selection of breakfast items the whole time… at most places if you don't get there within the first hour or so, you're out of luck! The pool and deck was very clean, and inviting. Having a young child, I loved the fact that the gate had a lock on it, and only hotel guest could get in. I felt extremely comfortable and safe at this hotel!

Lovely room. Very close to downtown and various restaurants and shops. Nice pool that is kept clean. Quiet and relaxing.

Great location & clean rooms. The beds are not very comfortable though as they sag slightly in the center. My only other complaint is that the outside lights pour through the gaps between the curtains to the point that when I woke up at 2:00 AM I thought it was morning already.

The hotel was up to date on the dacor it was a beautiful atmosphere although I had a couple problems with this staff people being a little snooty but other than that the rooms were clean for the most part had a wonderful time! Maids could clean just a little better and make sure they clean the toilet every time there was hair from previous guests on the back of the toilet and on the bathroom floor.

Check-in was great — really helpful staff. Nice breakfast in the morning. Clean very clean room and we got a room upgrade. Great place to stay.

They look awful from the outside but the rooms and everything are really nice. They look like they were recently renovated. The people who work there are really nice too. They have breakfast which isnt fantastic but its good enough for an early morning eat fast, grab and go type of thing. There breakfast also offers a lot more than the last hotel we stayed at so that was nice. There prices were pretty good considering it was right there from 40 and not far from downtown. Id recommend it to anyone. If all the best westerns are like that one, then I think ill be staying with them every time we travel lol.

There overnite pre-surgery. Comfortable clean room, bathroom had seen some hard use (walls n door trim) but otherwise was a good place to stay.

Location and price are decent. They allow pets and have a dog bag station. Close enough to downtown for an Uber.

Noisy motel. Called security three times about the party of under age kids drinking in the room next to me. So loud that the room was shaking. Room on the other side of the party room complained too. Nothing done. I will never stay here again.

The room was nice and spacious. The recent renovations gave it a clean and modern feel. The free breakfast offered a great assortment of breakfast items.

I would say all sort of things. Room was not cleaned well. Bedsheets were not replaced. Coffeemaker was not cleaned. Next day there was no hot water. Tired to write more…

Clean, comfortable room for a couple nights stay. City was beautiful and had no problems.

A decent place, though our room was definitely dated. Parking spaces are needlessly small, my older 1/2 ton std. Cab short bed barely fits. Service was friendly. No real complaints but didn't amaze either. Wifi is poor but works, and ATT gets crap signal, too. Minifridge was off/open on arrival, a cold fridge would have been helpful. Happily allowed us to check in a bit under half an hour early. First night towels were great, second night they had an off smell that I've picked up at other comperable hotels. Shower head is good, bathroom is tiny.

Location is easy to get to and from. The rooms are sufficient for a night or two stay when you're only sleeping there. The service is good.

Located was perfect for us. Close to downtown with an active nightlife and also close to the Biltmore Estate. Room was also a lot nicer than we had expected.

I've stayed at this motel several times, and several times it was ok. However, I stayed there recently and had a miserable experience. When I arrived, the room AC had been turned way too cold, so I raised the temperature. The room then filled with an acrid smoke, so I turned the unit off and opened the door to vent the oily smoke. Additionally the small fridge in the room did not work (it was unplugged, I plugged it in, I tried adjusting the temp setting… nothing). So all the food I brought had to be thrown out. As I was totally exhausted from traveling, I didn't contact the hotel front desk until a week later. I told them about the problems and asked if they could make some adjustment to my fee, especially as I stay there every couple of months. The desk person told me that they "could" have made a fee adjustment if I had contacted them while I was staying there, but not a week later. Sorry. The good: my past stays have been OK, and if you're traveling with a dog, the Azalea dog park is only about ten minutes away and highly recommended. I love Best Western, and these are my go-to places when I travel. Sadly, I'm going to give the Best Western of Asheville Biltmore East failing marks.

Given a smoking room with never being told. Front desk staff was very uncooperative and disrespectful. When asked to speak with a manager or supervisor we were told that there would not be a manager on the premises for another week. Also called corporate and nothing was done.

Excelent from check into check out it was a pleasant stay the room was large and very comfortable and it was minutes to whatever you could want for food along with a huge mall! Deffinatly will stay again.

Stayed here last night for a quick getaway. Room was very clean and we slept well. The hotel is very convenient to everything we wanted to do, and the staff we encountered were pleasant. Our only (minor) complaint is that we had to leave a $50 security deposit because we paid for the night in cash — despite them already having my Discover on file from making the booking; and the $50 was given back upon departure. We can't figure out the sense of keeping $50 as a "deposit" if the room isn't inspected before you give it back, but it's all good. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning.

Rooms are clean and inviting. Convenience to both downtown Asheville and various areas of interest would be hard to improve on. The flip-over waffle iron at breakfast works great. Traffic on Tunnel Road, both coming and going can be a bit dicey because of the driveway's location so close to the I 240 interchange, but somehow it always clears and lets you in or out. All in all it's the best motel in the Asheville area, and my wife and I have tried others.

NEVER AGAIN! — Checked into a room with a stopped up toilet. Maintenance guy came and plunged it, left it slow draining. Second day we came back to room with same problem. And was told no maintenance person was available, nor would they call in a plumber, switch us to another room or hotel. NOR would they give me information inregards to the property owner's contact details! Also, when asked if we would be able to walk over to use the lobby bathroom during the night, I was told "No, we will be locking the lobby up for the night". Therefore, a room without a working toilet.

This was one of the worst hotels we've ever stayed in. The service at the front desk was awful and the room was musty (they tried to put an air freshener covered by the curtains on top of the air conditioning vent). The first day we were there we returned in the evening to find that our room was not cleaned at all. When my husband went up to ask about it, the girl acted surprised but had nothing else to say except perhaps we did something that caused the cleaning lady not to clean. I returned to the desk and had to direct her to write a note to make sure the room was cleaned the next day. When we returned from hiking the next day the room was partially cleaned — they left several towels that were wet on the floor instead of removing them. We watched several people try to get directions in vain — the girl again just stared off into space both times while people tried to ask questions and/or show her a map. Her response to all questions seemed to be "I don't know" and then she would point to the rack of info across the way assuming she did that much. The breakfast was average for this kind of room. We stayed here because we planned this trip last minute and nothing else was available. When we stay in hotels like this we usually stay at Holiday Inn Express and we will never stay at a Best Western anywhere again. It certainly wasn't worth the inflated average price of $200 a night — even for a holiday weekend — but I wouldn't pay the regular prices either.

Great location if you wish to see the Biltmore. You can purchase tickets at the front desk for convenience. Breakfast was good but the space is small so plan accordingly. Parking lot is a little hard to maneuver in a larger vehicle due to narrow rows and angled parking. Awkward bathroom arrangement (unsure if this is every room) with the location of light switches and the step. Clearly a previously owned hotel that got remodeled. Plus I've never seen in any hotel before: the charging port station on the nightstand. Both mom and I were able to charge phones, camera batteries, and the gps at the same time. Hard to find on the street due to small signage, but for the price it was a good stay.

The person who checked myself and my wife in accidentally booked us for one night only when we expressly said two nights. Because we only were booked for one room in the back got back to the hotel after a day at the Biltmore they automatically check this out. They didn't call us they didn't check with us, they just automatically switched out the locks and we were left without a place to stay for the night. We had to make another hotel reservation for the night because they had already booked our room. They made no effort to correct their mistake. Luckily they didn't do anything with our stuff. We got our things and left and got a place down the road for a lower price than in a nicer room where they let you stay for all the nights that you reserve with them.

Sparkling clean rooms, good service. Looks iffy from the outside but the inside more than makes up for it. We had a king room with a jacuzzi and loved its spaciousness. Breakfast was okay, but not anything spectacular. Despite the outside looks and breakfast shortcomings, I would definitely stay here again.
