Place is stunning, fresh, and crazy comfortable, the spa was just a breath of fresh air, the service was impeccable, the picture frames on the wall we're breathtaking, and the couches so cozy. Would highly recommend this back here in Taliban to my friends.

Super basic room in a very old hotel but great for budget stop they have great view and pools indoor and outdoor, the spa didn't work when we visit. For a cup of a keurig coffee machine which you going to make yourself in the Lobby, they will charge $2. Needless to say there's no coffee machines in the rooms and no mini bars.

The buildings and grounds have not been well maintained. If you just need a place to sleep, this would fit your needs. Generally clean but not some noticeable maintenance items needed. The indoor pool was not heated and even though it was 90 outside the indoor pool was cold. The outdoor pool was ok. The breakfast is not worth the cost. Saunderskill Farms is just around the corner and has good food ready to eat.

This hotel has definitely seen better days, but with that said it was tolerable. The views are breathtaking. Even though it's very old you can see that one day many years ago this place was majestic and luxurious.

No longer an option. Some Chinese conglermate bought it and instead of renovating it, they made it worse. The spa was closed and ripped apart. Some of the rooms were closed and the furniture taken out. Mold developed. Roof leaks. And now, west Nile virus is lurking throughout the place. It is deadly and kills and yet the place is still open for business. Can't imagine why.

This place reminds me of the Hotel from the Shining. Major renovations needed here. It's one step up from a motel. Everyone here looks shady… including the workers! Stay away.

Room was ok. There was a broken soap holder in shower with jagged porcelain sticking out and dangerous. Breakfast at the view was very good.

The place is relaxing and quiet. But the halls smell bad, the furniture are old needs a makeover. Is quite expensive but the buffet they prepare is good.

This was a Shabbaton weekend trip with my Hebrew School. To say, the place has aged slightly since I first went there last year. For the room I was sharing with a few friends, the room was aging with the wall design peeling off, and not really having new technology, as the place still has CRT televisions, and the room being extremely humid when we went to sleep, but the room was in an acceptable condition for us to be in. Of course, we couldn't go to the pool, as it wasn't open, but they do have a weight room, with the equipment being very old. For some reason, to reset their treadmill after you're done using it, you have to unplug it, and then plug it back into the wall socket. Never heard of that before. They do have a small shop, with some drinks and food, as well as overpriced golf shirts, but from what I heard from one of the trip's administrators, it almost never really operates. But one thing they have is an awesome arcade. If you recognize games like Space Invaders and Crazy Taxi, you'll enjoy it. Bring some extra bucks for that! I got to appreciate Crazy Taxi more, as I already do like to play that game, but I fell in love with Sunset Riders thanks to this place. For free time, there was a lot of space to roam around at, as the lobby is huge, with many couches around the area. The ballrooms were a nice size, as they conducted the Shabbat service there, and it was also where we ate all of our meals. They're good if you're holding a event.

This hotel has tremendous potential if the owners actually spend money on renovations. In its present state, it is deplurable.

Went on a high school senior trip as a chaperone. The swimming pool was not available, lessoning the number of options for the students to partake in. Location was close to the destination excursions. Food provided was on the slightly lower end but with a few exceptions that were pretty good.

The staff is fantastic! Yes, the facility is outdated, but it has been under new ownership since. They are in the process of updating and renovating the entire entire facility, one or 2 sections at a time. We are holding a conference there in the Fall and I've seen progress as I've visited every few months. They are more than willing to work with groups and are so helpful and friendly. This place is going to be awesome as it gets restored.

Honestly don't even know where to begin with how disappointing this hotel was. The best comparison I can make is to an overpriced filthy hostel. The carpets were stained and the lobby and hallways smelled like mold. Our room was barely passable for clean. We found soap that was already open and loose hairs in the bathtub. There was a door that opened up to a balcony which was held together with a flimsy lock. While the staff was nice it was clear they didn't care about the quality of the establishment.

I don't like to leave poor reviews, I try to find something good to say about each place I stay so I'll start with that. The conference staff that they hire here each summer are amazing people! They work long hours, are friendly, helpful and VERY professional! I have come here repeatedly in the last 8 years for a specific conference and I have seen the same workers year after year and they are always extremely dedicated to providing above standard service. The fact that their support staff is so dedicated makes the reality that the owners, a Chinese conglomerate, care so little for the premises a terrible contradiction. The facility is run down, full of roaches and reeks of chemicals. The electricity fails when you try to run a computer at the same time as the air conditioning in any of the conference rooms. The hallways and common are as are shabby and haven't been updated in all the time I've been coming here. When I finally got into my room at 8pm the opening night of the conference, I immediately checked my mattress for bedbugs, as I had seen online that they had suffered an infestation earlier in the year. Imagine my surprise when I found a LIVE baby cockroach. I immediately took my bags and went to the front desk to inform them and all they did was offer to change the sheets. I explained that I really didn't think the roach had dirtied them and checked out. I stayed elsewhere for the duration of the conference and alerted the organizers of the conference.

I'm really unsure as to why this place has this good of a rating. It's a negative zero. The place is disturbingly old. It boggles my mind how people still choose to visit these accommodations. The view is beautiful but that's about it. The carpet it filthy. The place smells like an old house. The beds cave in the middle. The bedspreads look like they're from the 1980's. It's just gross.

The staff were kind and food was plentiful. These are things that are not to be taken for granted. If you're not going to swim for fun or exercise in the gym, you can have plenty of fun (when not working) playing "Where am I? /Where are you? / (And) How soon can you/I get there?. — The layout of this hotel can easily be an enjoyable adventure. We look forward to exploring the surrounding area (as explained by the everso informative staff) too, when we hopefully have a bit more free time during our next booking.

Was a guest while attending a conference. The hotel is very dated, but clean! The food was decent for buffet, but I imagine it would be much better if only being prepared for small groups! They are support animal friendly. Be sure to check the box springs before allowing your animal (or children) to play around the beds, our box spring was open on the bottom and it could have been very dangerous with all the springs exposed! The spa is also quite dated but all the amenities were working properly.

Beautiful scenic view and great landscape. The hotel is very nice but needs alot of renovation. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back again.

Yes, Resort is an old Catskill Resort. Amenities abound, IF YOU USE THEM! Hotel Staff is personable, and really accommodating. IF you're looking for something sultry and sparkly, this is NOT the place. And, IF you're looking for spacious rooms, beautiful views, and a wonderfully quieter time, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! I found NONE of the negative remarks previously posted! If you're into the 40s-50s quaintness of an old time Catskill Resort, this IS the place for you! I'd recommend it to my friends and neighbors, as it was restful!

Just stayed for a night, the room was clean and kept up. The breakfast was okay as they did have some variety but it was nothing too special. The outdoor pool was a little too dirty for my liking, but the indoor pool made up for that. The style of the hotel is a bit old school but it is very spacious and some activitied to do like ping pong, tennis, a spa and a mini arcade for children, you just had to do some exploring to find it. The spa was clean and enjoyable.

Beautiful place to be. The staff is friendly. The nice heated pool. Game room for kids. Nice place to take the family.

Last October was my second time going into this establishment as part of a church retreat. Maybe the first time I was too excited to notice anything wrong or maybe that this time around I had my new born son with me which made me more aware of things. It was horrible. I was put in a room with a leaking sink and the entire room smelled like mold. Even though they tried to find me a room, I feel that they did not try hard enough. I spent half a night waiting in the lobby to speak to someone, only to be told they did not have a better room for me and my 4 weeks old. I spent the entire 3 day weekend sleeping on the floor in someone's else room with my 4 weeks old child. I was very disappointing and angry but because I went there for a reason I stayed. While I love going to thw retreat I can't go somewhere I feel my child health will be in jeopardy.

The immediate impression I got was that the building was nice. The rooms seem to be different each room you go into and a lot of the appliances didn't work. The food was horribly bland and not what you would expect from any resort/spa. The staff was nice, but whenever asked about what time the spa closes, pool, etc. They never seemed to give the correct information and my friends and I didn't get to enjoy our free time being here on business. Totally not somewhere I would visit again.

Friendly staff, great spa amenities, nice breakfast, spacious rooms with the view of the mountain. If you are looking for an unpretentious quiet time to either reconnect with yourself or your family this is the place. We will definitely revisit. Couple of minutes from some great hiking trails. New Paltz and Ellenville nearby has some great restaurants you can check out.

The facilities are quite old, and the Wi-Fi is pretty much nonexistent. The only redeeming factors are the friendly (but few) staff and the accommating atmosphere. And the mountain view. Mountains are nice.

The location of the hotel is upstate New York. Beautiful place to visit and the scenic view is beautiful. The rooms are big spacious, with lots of space and clean. The service is excellent. I love this place. I keep on coming back every year.

I've called multiple times to make a reservation and have received no return call. After deciding to just put my phone on speaker and wait, it's now been 1 hour and 11 minutes and I'm still listening to hold music and a ridiculous recording that says "We'll be right with you… We appreciate your patience during this short wait… " Really? What aspect of being on hold for well over an hour constitutes "short wait"?

There's alot of flaws. It's very very old. The game room is from isn't even updated they have games from the 90's and 80's. The room it self had ripped rug and bad furniture. Little to No security. So bad random people are able to walk in the hotel any time they want an join tge activities with in the hotel. The work out room is horrible! do not go there. They literally have outdated equipment. So bad I almost fucked up my knee in there old ass treadmill. The food is good but they serve to much fattying food that by dinner you can barley eat anything. The measurements of the pool is not corret is says five feet but its not I say 6 feet. The lobby and the spa was the only good part of it. Nothing but old people working here while the young people are server's smh… and the so called "gift shop was wack" everything has tax on it so PLEASE DON'T COME HERE FOR YA SENIOR TRIP AS A SENIOR CLASS OF 2016 THIS HOTEL WAS HORRIBLE. We all had to make the best of it. I repeat do not come here.

Rooms are horribly debilitated, paint is falling off the top walls and insects are everywhere. Entire complex smells like an assisted-living facility.

I love and enjoy my stays everytime I go up with my family. It has charm and character I go back up in a month and can't wait. This is a must stay if you go to the Catskill very friendly.

I stayed here for three days and I have NOTHING pleasant to say about the place. The overall facility is antiquated and not maintained well. The room was particularly disappointing — dirty carpet, damaged furniture, crappy appliances, incessant odor, etc. I will not recommend this place to anyone unless you absolutely have to be in the neighborhood!

I have called this place no fewer than 10 times to make a reservation and no one ever answers the phone! I've never heard of a resort where no one ever ever answers the phone. It makes no sense. I've stayed there in the past and it was okay, not great. I'm giving it only two stars due to the impossibility of making a reservation.

This hotel rivals 2 Star hotels in developing countries. Its moldy and mildewed smell greet you once you get past the main desk. The AC cannot be controlled, the shower dribbles water, and the furnishings are at least 25 years old. There were 4 umbrellas at a nice-sized pool, and those were over tables. The kosher food wasn't bad, although repetitive. The only thing this place has to recommend it is a friendly and caring staff. It provides a good laugh, but otherwise I recommend: Stay away.

This place was disgusting. From the moment we arrived and opened the front doors the assault to our senses began. The carpets in the main lobby were badly stained and the stench in the air was gross. My husband and I had driven very far and decided to check in despite our misgivings. The hotel deck clerk was very pleasant the room was NOT! The wall paper was stained and peeling, the bed had sunken areas showing its age, the carpet was torn in several areas, the TV was an old tube TV that did not appear to be in working order, the smoke detector was yellow from age, the sofa bed had a section of wood sticking out from where it had been shoved under the cushion to hold it up, the view from the cloudy glass window was a big blue tarp covering the other half of the buildings roof (apparently a leak) and as if that wasn’t enough there was a nice narrative penned by Maria in 2012 describing her lust for other women in the back of the hotel guide on the deck. This is so sad that they would try and portray this property as something it CLEARLY is not and to charge $200.00 a night for it. Outrageous.

My friend found mouse droppings under his bed, and the my bathroom door wouldn't unlock. The plus side is that they had outlets and decent food.

Very nice and cozy place, really enjoyed my weekend.

A dump. I thought I was in the twilight zone. Everyone was very nice, but don't go there if you want to sleep. So much potential, not sure what happened.

I have been to this place about 6 times now, and I absolutely love it there! No, it is not a brand new place but it is beautiful and very comfortable. You walk in to a huge lobby with lavish chandeliers and crown moldings, comfy couches, and a bar (with a very kind bartender! ) The rooms are clean and comfortable, and there is plenty of room to walk around on the grounds. Not to mention being 5 minutes away from the Minnewaska Trail! Some people on here have written negative reviews, and being someone who has been going here for years I can say personally that I have never had a single negative experience. I am even having my wedding here in May.

Don't be deceived by the beautiful lobby…the rooms are awful and the beds are practically hard and the hallway is too narrow. If it were to be updated, it would be an awesome hotel.

This place is awful. When my wife and I entered the room, we were greeted by a few lady bugs on the walls and five flies, a few more already dead on the ground near the window, some stuck in cobwebs in the corner of the window frames. The wallpaper was starting to peel off, the ceiling had signs of water damage and the walls had drill holes which were never filled after a painting or something was moved. We were as tired as we were disappointed in the room so decided to crash there after killing off the flies. we left early the next morning to enjoy the outdoors and were greeted by about half dozen more flies when we returned. We went to the desk to request another room and when I told them about the fly problem, I was told that it is pretty much to be expected when unseasonably warm weather hits. Great explanation as to how the flies get into the room and all. Anyway, we carry our luggage to a new room, and as soon as we enter we see about five more flies on the window, the same cobwebs with dead flies in the window frame corners and more dead flies on the ground. Curtains/valences with stains, more drilled holes in the wall, more peeling wall paper and this room graced us with knocking water pipes in the walls. I'd rather sleep in a tent on a rock. Don't give this place your money.

Had a wonderful time in February when we had our first trip there. Definitely going back.
