Our stay was disappointing in many different ways. The Inn looks absolutely gorgeous from the outside, so we were thrilled about our weekend honeymoon. However, the moment we went inside, the disappointment set in. It looks like a dorm; dingy, plain hallways and stairwells. Our suite was simply a drab, simple apartment. Given, the furniture was nice and there were oil paintings on the walls, but we honestly think our simple apartment is nicer. The kitchen is straight from the 70s (and they leave so much soap on the dishes that when I poured a glass of white whine it was CLOUDY. I had to rinse it and tons of soap came off. ) There are very few amenities in the bathroom, which was so small that you have to close the door to get around. The bed was hard, though there were lots of pillows to choose from. Also, the walls were REALLY thin; we could hear every conversation and TV show. The staff is extremely nice and curteous in person, but they weren't very obliging. For instance, our room was REALLY hot, so we called to ask where the temperature controls were and were told there aren't any. He told us to open a window (this is in early January). On Saturday morning the phone rang at 10am and WOKE US UP (we love to sleep in and stay at hotels so that we aren't bothered! ) It was housekeeping asking if we wanted service. We said not now, and called the desk at around noon asking if they could come at that time, since we were ready to head out for the day. He said "I think they've left for the day, but I'll leave a note. " Our room was indeed cleaned, but I was disappointed at the customer service. We didn't try the restaurant because it's $18 for a single waffle, $11 for 3 chilled shrimp, and $35 for a chicken breast. I've heard good things, but we HIGHLY recommend Halsey's in town. We went there twice it was so good! One example of how ugly it all us up close: there's a white statue in the back that people pay a fortune to have their weddings in front of. When we actually saw it, I noticed that it was poorly made out of PLASTER and was chipping in several places (they didn't even cover up the line where the mold was fused together. ) So my thesis is: Stay at a nice local chain hotel or B+B. It's FAR worth the price and you'll have a nicer stay.
