The staff is very friendly, the view is amazing. If you looking for a luxury 5 star hotel this isn't it. But if you'd like a nice retro motel feel, this is the place for you. Rooms is spacious and comfortable. Ocean view is perfect to relax to as you wind down your day or just starting your day. One complaint is not the hotels fault it is the location of the road next to it. You can hear the traffic fairly loudly. But it is a beautiful place to stay. I should mention the wood smell of the rooms, very soothing.

Quaint hotel/motel with beach views in every room. The rooms are clean and spacious with an open balcony/terrace overlooking the water and steps away from the beach. The food and service provided by the staff was superb.

This is a lovely waterfront inn in the style of an old roadside motel. The inside has been completely updated in a modern nautical theme. The suites are very, very spacious, with a nice sitting area, kitchenette (complete with a Nespresso) machine, and a large deck overlooking the water. The bathroom is small, but has everything you need. The continental breakfast is very nice, in the restaurant overlooking the sound. The only negative is the road noise, and blinds that are not completely room darkening. So if you are a light sleeper, be aware and bring a sleeping mask. Would definitely return!

The remodel looks amazing. The rooms were just so perfect. The staff great. I have recommended this place non-stop since.

What a wonderful place to stay! We stayed in a junior suite, which was very spacious and nicely decorated. The deck overlooking the sound was spacious and is the kind of place you could stay on for days. The bathroom was small, but fine. The little kitchenette was perfect, and I love that the coffee machine was a Nespresso. If I had to be picky, I would just request that they use blinds on the street side that are more room darkening. And that maybe there should be cream to go with my Nespresso. I will warn that you will hear the cars go by, so if you are a light sleeper, bring a white noise machine or plan to open the doors to have the sound of the water lull you to sleep.

Charming, aesthetically pleasing, pleasant staff. The beds are extraordinarily comfortable. The whole experience was very successful, but for one thing: the $75 dog fee is too steep for an already expensive room.

Amazing location on the water. The water actually comes under the room where you sleep. Rooms are clean as is bathroom. Small fridge and large enough standard rooms. Continental breakfast is basic but fresh and delicious. Disco dance party on Saturday night is a must attend.

Love the new place it is beautiful. Food is good but the menu is small. You can tell they are working on making it perfect. But the best part is the entertainment on Saturday night. They have performer’s from Joe’s Pub in Manhattan! What a special treat for the North Fork.

I had heard about the north fork after living in the Manhattan for years, and I wonder why it took so long for me to head out there. The trip from the city was easy. For people flying into town — even easier from JFK. Just a couple hours out, it's wide open vineyards, farm land, and fresh fruit/pies. There is no pretension, it is easy to get around, and very understated. This is the same for the Sound View Inn. It was very nice from the outside, and once we checked in, the rooms were almost like little cabins on beach. The rooms are beautifully decorated with a great layout and comfortable bed. You can leave your windows open or step out to a back deck overlooking the water. I highly recommend it as a place to stay and visit with a beautiful location there and ease of access to the town, marina, and vineyards!

Amazing view! The Sound View Inn was overall amazing. The views, the food, and the rooms are all top notch! 10/10 would live here if I could, it’s a gorgeous stay.

The Sound View Inn was absolutely incredible. There is not a single bad view from any part of the Inn. My room was very clean and spacious. The restaurant was amazing and may have been one of the best lobster rolls ever. The best part of the trip/experience was riding the bicycles from Sound View to a local winery/vineyard. Can't wait to go back.

The Sound View Greenport is the new spot on the east end. The hotel has been totally redesigned and rooms, restaurant, bar, and additional spaces hit the nail on the head. The views are incredible, rooms you that will make you want to stay the summer. Relaxing, friendly and a definite recommendation I will pass along to anyone headed out that way.

What a shame! A Manhattan based hotel group bought the place and turned it in to a cold, unfriendly, overpriced and typical hipster establishment. I have been coming here since the late 80's. I normally stop by at least once a year in the Spring or early Fall. What a change in just one year? They must of done all the construction and decorating during the off season. A place that I looked forward to. Presently, poor management, staff with attitude and not accommodatingat all… Especially if you have a disability. I would hope that the Levins would be able to buy it back or someone who really knows how to operate this establishment which was considered a "Gem" at one time. As they say, things don't last forever but they should!

We spent many nights at Soundview when it was family owned. The new owners have made major renovations, but removed a number of amenities which made us stay there. Plus, they have raised the room rates about 50 percent. Pay more, get less?. We'll be looking for another place to stay in the North Fork.

Fantastic location, stunning views and great design. Great pool and beach access. Talented Chef overseeing the new restaurant. Very gracious management. The new build out is nearly complete, we'll look forward to seeing the finished product.

Excellent room with spectacular view, private beach and swimming pool. Can't wait to come back when renovation is complete.

The worst. Room was ok horrible bed. Lumpy unreal. Then I told the front desk person about my experience she became rude and had this weird tone in her voice. This is a hotel that I paid a lot of money for. So atleast be polite and act like you care. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Beautiful venue. Erica was incredibly helpful in showing us around and helping us plan our event.

I would actually give 5 stars for our stay here last year, however I cannot do that becaus we can never stay here again despite our excellent experience. The reason? The absolutely ridiculous price increase from last year to this year. Almost triple the price. Sorry… you can't jack up prices like that and expect people to just pay it.

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Beautiful pool area with gorgeous views. The room was very nice and well kept. Also great location, central and close to the wineries and greenport village. Would highly recommend!

We had been hesitant about eating at the soundview restaurant but we were pleasantly surprised! Yes the restaurant does have old decor but I believe it is what gives the place it's charm. The food was outstanding, the flounder was flaky and beautifully prepared. My husband' s lamb chops had a wonderful mustard and spice coating and were perfectly cooked. Michelle, our waitress was attentive and excellant at her craft. My husband is a true foodie and chef and he tremendously enjoyed his meal. Many times I do not take the time to write a review but when someone exceeds your expectations it must be acknowledge. Oh, let's not forget about the fantastic view.

Easy place for larger groups or families. Beautiful view of the ocean if you happen to be seated on the deck or by the windows. The food was rather underwhelming for the price though.

Food was good, the staff is not very professional, no one smiles they all look stressed out and the place was not even busy. Place needs to be re-modeled very old. Table presentation is lacking, silverware old. View was good! Expensive for a 3 star.

The Soundview is under new ownership as of Spring 2016. The prices have increased, the selections on the menu have decreased, daily specials have decreased and you no longer get a salad with your meal. If you would like a salad it now costs extra. The prices have increased for all items on the menu from entrees, drinks to desserts. The Soundview now caters to vacationers and tourists and the rise in prices reflects that. It is too expensive for a local resident like myself to frequent on a regular basis. However, most of the food is delicious and fresh. They have three options on the menu for children. You will have a great view of the Long Island Sound if you sit at a table near the window. They do take reservations and have outdoor seating during the summer. They also cater to large groups for special events.

Had our wedding at the Soundview in September and they were amazing. Willing to work with us and assist in any way that we needed. The service was incredible, the food was delicious and the view was breathtaking with sunset occurring during the first hour of our reception. You would have to look long and hard to find a better venue not only on the North Fork but anywhere on Long Island.

Very good. Very tasty in a restaurant. Worth to.
