Great service and price. King bedroom was a good size with an extra room for dining and lounging. Also pet friendly!

The furniture is mostly up to date but my room felt just plain dirty. The floor looks like it hasn't been properly vacuumed in a week, and the exterior of the hotel feels general unsafe. The hotel itself is in the process of rennovation but the exteriorakes it look practically abandoned. The halls and carpets in my room, as well as the electrical switches make the hotel feel severely out of date and kind of skeezy. The elevator felt extremely unsafe as well. After using it on my initial arrival I decided that I would use the stairs from that point on. The only saving grace so far for this location is that the staff member I met was very courteous and friendly.

Really needs an upgrade. On a quieter day, when there are no cars in the parking lot, it really looks abandoned. Most of the rooms and all of the common areas are very tired looking. The shower squeels when on, and the water comes out yellow for about 30seconds when first turned on. Pool was seasonally closed, so don't know how clean it is. Front desk staff very friendly and accommodating. King rooms are good size with a small sitting area. Breakfast was below average. Lots of parking available.

The one thing that I considered good about the hotel was the bed. The shower was barely warm, the towels were small and not very soft. The hotel could use a complete makeover.

They have always accommodated us with a smile. Even last minute emergency visits to our daughter at Cornell. Our room has always been clean and had everything we needed!

We stayed for overnight as we were on weekend trip for exploring Ithaca. The hotel I think is under renovation in some areas such as swimming pool. The room was good, clean, decent size, small fridge and bathroom was also clean and tidy. It was good for the price we paid to stay. It is located close to major tourist attractions which is added bonus. The breakfast menu was very limited but there is Ithaca bakery close by where we had awesome breakfast. Overall it was a good pleasant stay.

Staff was courteous. Nice comfortable room. Nice selection of breakfast items. Overall a nice experience.

Came into the hotel, and it smell gas the pool was under construction so it didn’t even work. When walking into the hotel. I kid you not, there was broken glass on the sidewalks. We think it’s from broken in cars because we’ve heard reports of it in the area. The staff are nice, but they were trying to convince us that it was just Ice… As for the room, stains on the carpet, smelled like cholrine, refrigerator doesn’t even work, and it was so dusty In the room I’m now here with a cold and wiping out brown dust mites from my nose. The room was $180. Do not listen to the reviews price not worth it nor the stay.

They are very nice people. I had to print a 20 page document at 2am and they did it for me without hesitation. :)

I paid for another night in advance on a different card. I had already paid two nights. I was at the Dr for a bad spider bite before leaving for Arizona the next day and was told I was late checking out. They later apologize and say it's there error but the Front Desk we're generally rude. House keeping and Laundry as well as break fast staff we're wonderful ❤

Hotel looks an abandoned building, the inside looks like a time capsule. There elevator sounds and feels a few heavy loads away from failing. The bed was big and firm, not a bad nights sleep but I would recommend bringing your own pillows and blankets as they're lax on their sheet washing. The air conditioner smelled so bad I couldn't use it, the cheep vinyl flooring was coming up and the showers suck. TV wasn't the smallest, but the Wi-Fi was the probably the worst I've had in a hotel. You might get an email or two out but good luck trying to stream or download anything. The best part is that they charged me 475 dollars for checking in on the 15th just before midnight and and leaving at 5 on the 16th. They also made this charge to the wrong card, as well as charging the other card on file for a nights stay. They also don't answer their phones so honestly unless you have no other choice I would avoid this hotel.

The WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. Please read this review and think twice before booking a room. As the other reviews have mentioned, the building looks abandoned and the parking lot is full of potholes and in general disrepair. The staff checking us in seemed nice, but once we arrived in our room we just could not stay there. There was mold all over the bathtub, a patched ceiling repair with mold and soap scum all over the tub. The carpet was coming up in places, visible stains on the furniture and chipping paint all over. I didn't feel comfortable even walking around. At night it is even worse! There are no lights in the parking lot, so you feel vulnerable getting out of your car and a path that cuts through straight to the rooms has seemingly been under construction for a long time. Picture the scariest and dirtiest hotel you can imagine and this is it.

Rooms are clean, comfy and affordable. The pool was under renovation while we were there, but we have enjoyed it in the past. I'm sure the current renovations will do nothing but improve the already pleasant stay we usually have!

I really liked my stay. It's the old Sherton and hasn't changed much. The pool was closed and no longer going to be inside pool. The parking lot needs major repair. Also lights need to be on outside because it looked closed. I will stay again.

Hotel almost has a "Grand Budapest Hotel" vibe. Service was quick and friendly. Breakfast was decent (they had good waffles). Apart from the pool being renovated, everything else was good for its price.

The only issue with my room was that there were cigarette ashes in the bathtub. Besides that, the rest of the room felt clean and it had a nice look to it. Breakfast was just basic breakfast sandwiches, muffins, waffles, yogurt. It was all good! Staff was very nice! :)

Our first night there the AC stopped working in the middle of the night. The staff were nice enough to move us into a new room the next day. Coffee machine did not work in either room. Rooms are generally clean but the first floor has a smoke smell. I recommend the second floor. The building looks old and abandoned from the outside, but it was probably once a very nice hotel. It needs a massive face lift. Oh yes and the pool is still out of service.

The hotel has a ragged exterior, and a pockmarked parking lot (RIP your suspension). The hotel itself is old and gives off a very "Grand Budapest Hotel" vibe. However, the interior is very clean, the rooms are spacious and cool, fairly well sized TVs too. The front desk service is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast isn't anything upmarket but you get a nice variety (breakfast sandwiches, fresh waffles, cereals, fruit, bagels). For the price, nothing better.

When I arrived at this hotel, I thought I had the wrong address. It looked like an abandoned building. I ended up finding the front door and entered the dimly lit lobby. Upon approaching the front desk, I started having a bad feeling about the place. It just looked plain creepy, like something from the Chainsaw Massacre. Even the Bates motel looked nicer. The front desk clerk checked me in and gave me the keys. Once I entered the building where the rooms were, I went through a dark hallway with a filthy carpet and dingy walls. I got to my room, but thank God neither one of my keys worked. I decided I'd had enough and wasn't slightly interested in seeing what there would be behind the door. Thankfully, the front desk attendant was very nice and fully understood when I told him I wouldn't be staying. I think he actually knew that would happen. He was very nice and helpful in getting me a refund and even suggested other hotels nearby. I feel bad that he has to work in this depressing place. He said the hotel was undergoing renovations, who knows. In the meantime, stay clear from this nightmarish place, you'd be better off paying a little more elsewhere.

Okay, so I am writing this at the end of June 2016. First impression as we drive up, It looks like a tornado hit it, it was very ugly and I didn't want to stay here. Once we went into the lobby, it smelled of mold and must. We checked in and as we were walking through the halls, it was very creepy and reminded me of a hospital or a mental institution, (This place needs major renovations). Once we got to our FIRST room, there was a chalk wall with swears written all over it (from previous guests), and the smell continued. Ai checked the bathroom and the sink had toothpaste all over it. I cannot sleep without air conditioning, and when we turned it on, it sounded like a truck and didn't blow any air out of it. The hotel room also came with a mini-fridge and it wasn't working, even after plugging it in. Also, the carpet in the hotel is stained everywhere. So we called the front dest and requested and new hotel room, they gave us a new one with no problems, the only problem I had with the new room was the amount of hair left over in the bath tub and floor. About an hour and a half after check in, we went down to the pool, the pool had a huge mold problem, not only on the walls and ceiling, but on the floor! The New York Health Department would probably not approve of this… there was a lot of dead spiders in the pool so I cleaned it out, no big deal. The water is very clean itself (suprisingly). The beds were actually very comfortable.

The best word to describe this hotel: sketchy. Very few staff were around to help. One night the pool was heated, and the next one it wasn't. We ran out of toilet paper and constantly had to ask for towels. The complimentary breakfast was all packaged food. The lighting was very dim, and air fresheners were placed in the hallways. It was cheaper, so it worked for us, but it was not a good hotel.

I slept great very cozy good room.

It really is has an aura of spookiness but once you get past that the hotel can become a pleasant experience. No problems with rooms, cleanliness, bathroom. Everything basic was provided. There's a beautiful indoor pool and the lack of guests/staff provides a unique way to enjoy some solitude. Ps. Didn't encounter any ghosts.

The Good: -Clean Rooms -Awesome soaps -Pleasant Staff -You control heat/air The Bad: -Pool is freezing cold. Like, Polar Bear Club cold. -Limited food options for breakfast -Sound travels easily. Especially when schools drop off bus loads of teens that decided that 1 o'clock am is a perfectly reasonable time to have an impromptu pizza party in the hallways (not the staff fault — chaperons left the kids unattended) The Ugly: -The smell of mold is every where -The carpeting is badly warn -Doors to exits are off hinges or missing -Hallways look like something out of a Stephen King novel or from a zombie movie of your choice -There is no lighting outside at all In Summary: It's a bit like a flea market; you'll get a deal at times but, it might be worth looking else where if you expect something pristine. **We have been here twice. My kidneys haven't been harvested either time :D.

Run down and extremely outdated. Its worth the price that your paying for it. It gives you that motel feel.

Basic no-frills hotel. Breakfast is solid, pool is warm, and rooms are nice and clean and have temperature controls. Common areas look worn, and exterior needs a lot of work, but you'll be happy in your room. The rooms are much nicer looking than the rest of the hotel. It seems to be pretty empty most of the time, so at least it's quiet. Employees are friendly. I wouldn't host a conference there or invite anybody I wanted to impress over since it looks a little rough, but this is a great place to stay in Ithaca on a budget. Wi-Fi is free, but a little too slow/glitchy to watch Netflix and the like. They should really consider varying the channels of their routers so they aren't interfering with each other (they were all broadcasting channel 1 when I checked) to see if that improves the internet connectivity. Rooms have a hair dryer, mini fridge, iron/ironing board, safe, and plenty of light and outlets. I will stay here again next time I'm in town.

The rooms were very nice and spacious. The quality of cleanliness was very high. The breakfast was very disappointing, but a good hotel for very cheap.

I just drove by out of curiosity, I had to check it out. It's pretty much what horror movies are made off… Looks awful from the outside. I guarantee you'll score some great meth though!

Oh man, the trip hotel isn't that bad! My boyfriend and I stayed here while in Ithaca and we defined it as a "place to sleep" hotel — nothing fancy but nothing terrible either. We're actually thinking of going again and staying here.

DO NOT STAY THERE! it is VERY outdated. SO NOT WORTH THE MONEY! from the outside it doesn't even look like a hotel, It had a ordor of mold or mildew all through it, the pool was cold, when turning on the water for the shower all this rust and stringy stuff came out, as for the continental breakfast, they did not keep it up, had no bagels, very little coffee. When I told the front desk I was very hesitant about staying because I read the reviews and they were all bad, he laughed, I will say besides the rusty stuff in the shower our room was clean. BUT this room was NOT worth the money we had to pay for it, there is no way I would ever stay there again. The parking lot had grass and weeds growing up all over it, it is not a good appearance. Very very unhappy!

It was scary 똥꼬 shit. Good rooms, but scary hallways, the worker scared the shit out of me. They are like ghost. Real experience of ghost house here. Try it, it's pretty 똥꼬쉿

Would give zero stars if possible. Seriously the worst hotel I've ever seen. Dirty, smells like mold, outdated, stains throughout all carpet in the building, hair in the tub and blood stain on the sheets. Do not let the pictures fool you its just like a horror movie save your money sleep in your car.

Arriving the parking lot was empty! Kind of spooky. Then walking in to our room, the door to the outside was clearly not lockable. The hallways dingy and creepy. Pealing wall paper, an open door with a large drop into a cement pipe room. I was seriously worried about the room and ready to start calling for new accommodations. The room was actually clean and quite comfortable! I was pleasantly surprised. Fridge, fan, and comfortable, clean beds. Unfortunately, we were called 3x Sunday morning to be sure we knew to be out by 11:00am. Ridiculous considering that the hotel maybe had 10 rooms rented, tops!, on one of the busiest weekends in Ithaca.

Rip off. Creepy and rundown. Paid $200+ for a 2 queen bed room that was equivalent to a $100 motel. No fan in bathroom, internet hardly worked.

Clean, friendly, but, rundown. Not the best value. If you're used to a Clarion Hotel or similar experience, this former Clarion is not the place. Hard to feel comfortable and secure in this environment. If we'd been better informed, rather than an on-the-road quick choice and somewhat misled by the fact that our navigator still lists this location as a Clarion, we would have not booked. In fact, if it were priced correctly, that would be a good clue. Too bad.

I was very, very anxious coming here because of all the terrible reviews, and honestly, the exterior of the hotel did not inspire confidence. We didn't have much of a choice, though, because it was the cheapest available room in Ithaca. Fortunately for us, though, we were very pleasantly surprised. The front desk was extremely helpful and quick. They got us in a room within a few minutes, and the room. Is. Fabulous. The bed is big and fluffy and CLEAN. We have a flatscreen tv, the pool is open and gorgeous, and I haven't been to the fitness room yet, but I don't expect to be disappointed. They don't serve food before the evening, but a short walk away is the Ithaca Bakery, set in a strip mall with lots of neat little shops. A lot of the reviewers suggested that this place desperately needed an overhaul. Well, I think they got one.

I have stayed here twice now. Both times with my family (wife and 3 kids under 10). While admittedly long in the tooth, the rooms were clean, the pool (door to the pool needs to be fixed) was open and the staff was wonderful. From the woman who checked us in (who was simply the nicest person I have met in a long time) to the house keeping staff to the waitress who made my kids hot chocolate, everyone was really friendly. We stayed two nights and had two rooms each night. The place is centrally located (Ithaca is small so it's never really more than ten minutes anywhere you want to go). There is a coffee shop within walking distance and Purity Ice Cream is only an 8 minute drive. One nice small thing is that rooms have small fridges in the rooms. I do wish that the entire hotel would go non-smoking as the smell of smoke is evident as you walk through the downstairs. Still, considering how much other hotels in the area cost.

Hallways smell like smoke, heaters were very weak and barely kept the room work, mini-fridge didn't work, and you can look straight through the bathroom vent into the adjoining room. Beds were not bad, but the hotel hasn't been updated for decades and the exterior facade is falling apart.
