I recently spent a night at the holiday inn express in Cortland and I must say I was a bit disappointed. I’ve stayed her on numerous occasions so I expected better. The wall paper in the bathroom was peeling away from the wall. You could tell it didn’t just recently peel away. My towels smelled as if they had been near a bonfire. My tub did not drain. My husband showered and said he placed the wash cloth in the drain to hold it open but that the water was slowing going down. Then my daughter showered. By the time I showered I was standing in a complete tub full of dirty water. I was so turned off by this. I like the holiday inn and normally don’t complain but I just feel that the hotel has lost some of the care it takes in keeping the rooms in good standings.

The location was convienant, rooms were ok, there was no hot water in the evening. Overall a positive experience.

Very clean hotel very helpful kind staff breakfast is good outstanding service I ended up here due to a bad stay at another hotel my company moved me to holiday Inn. Highly recommend.

Excellent. Very well located. Very good modern facilities, well decorated and mantained. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, far better than that one from other hotels we have been before in the area in our way, from Canada, to visit the family. Friendly and courteous staff. Our hotel since now on.

The hotel is nice but I’m not very impressed with the pool. The floor of the pool is way, way too rough. We had to stop swimming short both times we decided to go because my kids kept getting cut on their feet. My son had all the skin scraped off of his Achilles heel.

I'm usually a big Holiday Inn fan, but this hotel was a bit of a bummer. The exterior and common areas of the hotel were great, but the room was dated and inconsistently cleaned. If I had to, I'd be OK staying here again… but I'd probably shop around for other options first.

Excellent service. The room was clean and the water pressure was enough to scour rust off of a century old warship. 10/10 would recommend.

The outside of the hotel provides a welcoming and updated appearance, but inside, rooms are outdated. Our room was coated in hair from someone else. Pulling back the comforter on one the beds, we were greeted with many hairs from the pillow to the sheet. We decided to sleep on the other bed. The tub was also full of the same hairs, as if no one washed the tub before we arrived. To top it off, there was also a used bar of soap in the tub. Free breakfast is always appreciated, and it was ok, but the staff could have been more diligent about refilling food items.

Staff very friendly and hotel nice and clean. Room could use some sort of bench to deposit our suitcases on and a comfy chair to sit and watch television. Good complimentary breakfast served to see you off!

Clean and comfortable. Found the staff accommodating and friendly. If you're a truck/bus driver, there's plenty of parking for large vehicles, and they are willing to negotiate day room usage, based on availability.

This hotel is very well managed. Staff is well trained knowledgable andlf friendiy. Also spotless. Breakfast with a good variety is always fresh this truly a 10 on 10 hotel.

Very convenient location just off of I-81. Clean rooms had a king suite with jaccuzi tub. Great breakfast area.

Good hotel if you just need a place to crash, friendly front desk staff, comfortable beds. Shower did not drain properly but overall good experience.

We always stop and stay here when we travel to our destination 3x per year. Always clean, quiet and staff is always courteous and pleasant.

Pretty much your uniform, spherical hotel stay. Everything lived up to my expectations. Mildly puzzled by having found my room's door propped open.

Very friendly staff. Breakfast items are limited and insufficient for the number of guests. Items run out frequently and staff is overwhemled and can't keep up. Our sofa was unusable because of some sticky substance that couldnt be cleaned. The hotel was booked to capacity and we couldnt change rooms. The only accomodation offered was a comforter to cover the sticky stuff. The coffee bar is empty by 8pm. We only stayed 2 nights. The hotel does not offer a bar or restaurant.

Room was noisy. Receipt that says $820 but I was charged $951. Made multiple phone calls over a month and receptionist said she would not talk to me because she doesn't know who I am. Wrote emails to manager and the manager didn't answer until I called again, said they are big company and their system is pretty good, and blamed me for what happened. Really bad attitude.

A modernized HIE — excellent access from I-81 north or south. Convenient to many restaurant choices.

We checked in very late, 1am I think. Don helped us… he is amazing! Give him a raise! He was very informative, gave lots of great feedback and options for us. Made us feel really good to be a guest at the hotel. Rooms very spacious and the washroom was good. Only one bad thing I would say is that in the morning I notice a couple of ants on my bed. Loved the breakfast, so many options and it all tasted great! Would come back again. And again, two thumbs up for Don!

We have stayed at several of The Holiday Inn Expresses. And this definitely rates at the top! Enjoyed every moment of our stay. And I might add after a long day of driving! The staff were great! The location and atmosphere is great.

The complimentary breakfast was very nice, though I wish the room wasn't directly facing the exit and lobby.

Conveniently located, right next to freeway. Some fast-food outlets close by.

The room was clean and the staff courteous and friendly. The free continental breakfast is a great perk in an age of paying for every little extra.

Breakfast is good and the service is quick. My key didn't work and they handled it quickly.

Great hotel. Friendly service, free coffee and pastries the day we got here, and nice accommodations. The only gripe I had was all the pillows were down feather. Made sleeping uncomfortable even with the two options of firm and soft pillows.

Clean, awesome staff, delicious breakfast. Staff is more than accommodating to any need. I have stayed here numerous times, from the time it was open approx 5 years ago, the hotel has been well maintained and they kept their standard of great customer service. Best accomadations in Cortland, NY.

If I could give it zero stars, I would! WORST HOTEL EVER! Be advised of Brandy at the front desk — she will scream at you when you question their additional billing charges (scams)! I think any other hotel would be better than this dump! Be warned!

Service was good. Rooms were up to par for a chain hotel. Breakfast was good. Overall I was satified.

The only reason I gave it three stars is because of the older lady at the front desk. The minute I came in she was short. She then informed me that the discount I used is not usually allowed. I had told her that I had used it several times before at that site and never had a problem. I also informed her that their website never mentioned not being able to use my discount (it was gov id and I was not on business). Not a good start to a stay. Staff are always friendly and nice — not sure about this lady.

A nice continental breakfast was provided. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the beds were quite comfortable.
