Beautiful views and very relaxing and so much stuff you can do here from hot tub to a walk or just hang out playing some pool or darts or watch a movie in the movie theater room. Would recommend this place. I will come back again to visit.

Absolutely beautiful inside and out! We didn't want to leave. Between, the jacuzzi in our room, the pool table, sauna, hot tub, theater and other activities. We had no reason to leave. Wendy, the Innkeeper is amazing and so thoughtful. She really pays attention to detail and makes the experience perfect in every way. Breakfast is fantastic, especially when you're enjoying it in front of the fireplace with mimosas. If you have never been here before, you need to give it a try. 100% recommend.

I surprised my husband with a stay here for our anniversary and it was amazing! Thoughtful staff, beautiful area! We loved playing board games, playing pool, and enjoying the hot tub and s’mores! I got an amazing nights sleep and enjoyed waking up to a beautiful view! I would highly recommend to others and I can’t wait to come back again myself to stay! Next time I come I will be sure to stay for a few more days at a time!

The BEST! Everything about this place is beautiful. The owners and staff are wonderful. The breakfasts were the best I've ever had. Room was gorgeous and so romantic. Private porches overlooking the lake was my favorite part! We absolutely will be back!

We came for our elopement and were just blown away by the whole experience! Everyone is so kind, helpful and welcoming. The food was to die for and just overall it was an amazing way to spend our weekend getting married!

We just finished our 1st anniversary trip at the Fern Lodge and as it was last year when we eloped here, every detail was absolutely perfect. Our hosts were attentive to every whim, the boat tour was a pleasure and the breakfast was top notch! You will not be disappointed with your stay!

Our stay at The Fern Lodge was exceptional! My husband and I went for our honeymoon and it was the perfect combination of relaxing with plenty to keep us entertained in the area. Friends Lake was quiet and beautiful, breakfasts at the Lodge were delicious, and Wendy, Sami and the whole team made sure things were perfect for our stay. Couldn’t have asked for better — we will be back!

Hidden gem! Perfect getaway for couples. My husband and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary here, and it was more than we could’ve asked for. Room was spacious, private, as well as clean. A beautiful cake in our fridge along with a bottle of champagne was just one of the amazing touches this lodge has to offer. Staff was phenomenal from booking to check out. Willing to help plan your day, make reservations, or just to make your stay even more memorable. My husband and I truly loved meeting other couples staying. The social hour every night was a nice bonus. We are looking forward to making this our yearly getaway!

Such a perfect getaway for our mini moon! Sharon was away while we were there but Susan and Samantha (and Shadow and Noche) were nothing short of friendly and helpful. Breakfast every morning was delicious and the grounds inside and out are so relaxing. Took full advantage of the fire pits and hot tub. Looking forward to coming here again!

We had an amazing time. So peaceful and relaxing. We will definitely return in the future. It’s our new favorite vacation spot!

This lodge has all the makings to be an amazing experience but fell completely flat with lack of execution, detail, and communication between hosts and guests. My boyfriend and I booked the Forest Guest room (listed as the most luxurious and most expensive room) for our anniversary. Before arrival I emailed the host Sharon to notify her that I have a service animal. No response and I had to reach out to confirm she had received his paperwork. Upon arrival to the lodge, we were greeted into an empty large living space, no fire places going, no one around, just people’s luggage packed at the front door. It took me having to text Sharon again that someone finally got to us. When we entered the room it was beautiful, tub, indoor fireplace. However outdoor our “private terrace” area was un shoveled and the small fire pit covered in snow and not cleaned up. Note the day we arrived was sunny and beautiful. As I slipped into the bath, the water in the adjacent shower began to back up and rise and we had to wait for Sharon’s husbands to come and draino it. Later that evening we wanted to peak into the shared common space 10+ seat theater to find it locked. I gently knocked and no answer, knocked again, and was greeted by another guest “yeah what’s up”. His female companion was in nothing by a robe and they soonly left the theater after our encounter which completely turned us away from even being in that room.

The perfect place to elope! My husband and I had the most beautiful, wonderful weekend here. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet and romantic getaway ❤️

This was by far the most relaxing stay we’ve ever had! From the second we arrived we were greeted with kindness and hospitality. The room (Birch) was spotless and had a gorgeous fireplace, jacuzzi, and steam shower. We even got to enjoy our morning coffee on the porch while listening to the loons! The sheets were so soft and the pillows were perfectly poofy. I really cannot say how perfect everything was! The breakfasts were DELICIOUS and had satisfying portions and the wine and Hors d'oeuvres were warming and thoughtful. They even had individual s’mores you could have by the fire downstairs! We partook in the honeymoon package and couldn’t be happier. We will 100% be returning next year!

Place is immaculately clean! Birch room is spacious with the fireplace heating both sides of the room. Quiet balcony overlooking the lake. Breakfast is so fresh and delicious. Hosts are very nice and accommodating. Found a hidden gem.

Carrie and I want to thank everyone at the lodge for being so kind. The day we were leaving, we overslept and missed the breakfast window. The lodge did not let us go home hungry. They wrapped us up a nice breakfast goody bag.

We had the best honeymoon here! The rooms are amazing with our own personal fireplace, porch and jacuzzi tub (pine room). The breakfast each morning was to die for! Our service was great and the views were amazing. We sat on the boathouse porch and watched loons fish and we enjoyed the hot tub one evening as well. Highly recommend for a romantic get away!

Could not have asked for a better, more inviting, warm venue for our beautiful wedding. We had the best time and are so thankful to Sharon and the entire staff at The Fern. Even Susan, our officiant was so very helpful with organizing. It all came together beautifully❤️❤️ The staff made sure all accommodations were nothing less than perfect, from delicious breakfast, warm bonfire, and beautiful atmosphere, to the staff trying to make every part of our stay enjoyable. Even Kate offered to go pick up our pizza when our original second night dinner plans did not pan out. I can not recommend this place enough, and we can’t wait to return very soon!

Was blessed to have stayed at this establishment over Labor Day weekend. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated to match the Adirondack scenery it is nestled in along with upscale amenities and deliciously prepared breakfast each morning.

Professionaly run. Stress less energy. Knowledgeable of anything in the area. Foods great. Building is so interesting. Excellent place to visit.

We stayed in the pine room. It was absolutely beautiful. Sharon and Greg have done an amazing job ensuring all amenities you could want for an intimate weekend away are available. We will definitely be returning.

Highly recommend! We stayed in the Birch room that was large, cozy, and had a great view of the lake. Our favorite part was definitely the delicious breakfasts each morning. We enjoyed the jacuzzi tube in our room as well as the hot tub outside. Perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway.

I was looking for an upscale yet lodge-style accommodation in the North Creek area. Places I called in North Creek were recommending Alpine Lodge as it was 2 minutes from a destination we were visiting at the time (Rev Railroad… strongly recommend this bike tour near this lodge/hotel. ) After calling Alpine Lodge in North Creek (which is also beautiful — more of a rustic style) and explaining I was looking for more of a glamour//luxury//rustic vibe they said their sister hot…el is “Fern Lodge” in Chestertown and that it sounds like that’s what I was describing. The pictures were very beautiful online and got me excited to go. We even decided to elope with my now husband because I anticipated a beautiful stay. Pictures can be deceiving but wow this place somehow was even more breath taking in person! The staff (specifically Holly) and owner Sharon were genuinely the sweetest you could hope for. This type of kindness really impacts a stay in an unfamiliar neighborhood. They make you feel as if you’ve been friends and known them your whole life. We stayed 2 nights In the beginning of August. Then, we came back the end of August to try a new room called “Birch. ” We didn’t want to leave to venture the area. It was so perfect! Rooms book fast so give yourself an extra day or two to stay because it may be hard to extend your stay. We loved Lake George just twenty minutes from The Fern. Great tourist attraction.

This place is a beautiful lodge and it is only 30 minutes away from LAKE GEORGE. My family & I booked 3 rooms for 2 nights. We wanted to stay away from the crowd of Lake George and have quite and peace but at the same time be close to Lake George so we can experience the Lake George Village anytime we wanted to. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. Each room is uniquely designed and gives you the real feel of Adirondack. Rooms are perfect. The owners Sharon & Greg and the staff provided us with everything we needed — Even toothbrush and tooth paste. Breakfast — One of the BEST. They have a professional chef who cooks everything from scratch. Whatever we wanted, the chef made it. Whether it was omelette or homefries, or both the chef got it. And not just any omelette and homefries, they were absolutely fresh and delicious. They served fresh oatmeal cookies, coconut pudding and so many different things for breakfast. Evening Time 5 PM — You could go on a boat ride on Friends Lake. There are comfortable chairs on the boat. There is also a small table where they serve different kinds of snacks. You can enjoy the Friends Lake and eat delicious snacks. Night Time is so Peaceful. We got the firepit outside. The burned wood smell with the view of Friends Lake really relaxes you. Overral, Fern Lodge is absolutely one of the best Place to go to get away from New York City.

I wish I can rate this 10 stars! My wedding was here! Amazing people, great hospitality they do everything to meet your needs. I am definitely staying here for vacations and future anniversaries.

This has probably been one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. So accomadating and friendly. I couldnt have asked for a better place to propose to my girlfriend. (now my fiance woohoo). The scenery is amazing. Its quiet and peaceful and so very unique. Sharon was nothing short of amazing helping us with what ever we needed and booking our well needed massages. All of the staff were amazing, one of the employees I cant remember her name right now, maybe susan? Was extremely helpful and accomadating. Brought us champagne after the engagment amd wine when ever we wanted truly a special place and amazing time. We stayed in the Birch room and it is gorgous. You will not be disapointed if you book a room. The service, staff, scenery and all around feel were 10 stars. Thank you for making our time in the adirondaks so special!

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We felt very at home, warm and safe at the Fern Lodge in the midst of an ice storm. Susan took great care of us, the breakfasts were unbelievably delicious, we loved Shadow and Noche, and the hot tub too!

The Fern Lodge provided my new husband and I with an incredibly romantic weekend elopement. They made plenty of considerate arrangements for us, from changing last minute dining reservations to a couple's massage. The wedding ceremony they held for us was flawless: low-key, beautiful, simple, and elegant. Susan officiated and we both feel she gave us in our ceremony everything we wanted. My bridal bouquet was gorgeous, the cake was simple, delicious, and sized perfectly for our party of four. The breakfasts each morning were amazing. The turn-down chocolates were to die for! We hope to return every spring. Thank you, Fern Lodge!

A one-of-a-kind enchanted Adirondack experience, comprable to the point in Lake Placid with a staff of friendly professionals.

My wife and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary. It was an amazing experience. This lodge is amazing. From the beautiful view, the jacuzzi tub, to the wonderful people who go out thier way to make your stay amazing. I recommend anyone thinking about staying here to just do it! You will not be disappointed!

The Fern Lodge was wonderful. We stayed in the forest room which was beautiful. It is very secluded. Sharon the owner was so hospitable. She offered to get us reservations and sent us off with danishes, yogurt, coffee, and a smoothie since we didn't want to stay for breakfast. We will definitely be returning.

There aren't enough good things I can say about The Fern Lodge. My boyfriend and I just got home after staying for 4 nights and I want to go back already! We stayed in the Pine room and it was amazing. Sharon was so nice and accomodating — — made reservations, looked up information about the local horse back riding, and even took some pictures of us so we could capture the memories. The breakfasts were all delicious, the amenities were fantastic, and the view was spectacular! We even booked a massage, which I highly recommend. We will absolutely be back in the future. Thank you so much for everything, Sharon!

Stayed here with my wife for our honeymoon. It is hard to find the correct words to describe how perfect the Fern Lodge is. It is a place where you can achieve absolute relaxation. The rooms was fantastic. The food was amazing. Nightly wine and cheese cruise on friends lake is another great touch. I will be coming back here many more times.

It was a great place to stay for our baby moon. Everyone was extremely nice.

This Is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The whole atmosphere from the second I arrived was what I would call "High-end Relaxation". My friend and I were greeted at the door and given a tour of the property that helped us get orientated with all the features this magical place has. Home theater with a selection of movies and TV, Pool table, Foosball table, a well stocked bar, multiple board games, outdoor hot tub, sauna and a beautiful lounge area with a cozy fire just to name a few. When we got to our room we got to know how fabulous this place truly is. The room was meticulously decorated and made us feel like we were staying in a log cabin. The bathroom had a wonderful Jacuzzi tub more than big enough to accommodate two people and the combo steam shower made it hard to leave it. Most importantly Sharon and Greg were extremely welcoming and even offered us a glass of wine to enjoy by the fire when we went to go check on our reservation that Sharon had also made for us. Best of all it felt like home with two extremely well behaved dogs to great us whenever we entered the common area. This is the perfect place if you are looking for a cozy getaway nestled into the Adirondacks.

A wonderful place… special.

MY husband and I stayed at Fern Lodge in November 2015. We had an absolutely perfect weekend there! If I remember correctly we stayed in the Oak room upstairs. The lodge is beautiful, and so clean. There is a lovely view of the lake. It was too cold to do much outside so we relaxed by the stone fireplace in the great room. In the afternoon our hosts put out some wine and appetizers to enjoy. We had a very relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable weekend. We just booked The Forest room to celebrate our anniversary in July! Can't wait to go back and we are really looking forward to their breakfasts.

This place is the horrible! The staff are rude and the accommodations are worse.

My wife and I (Misty and Ken) have a fabulous weekend for our first anniversary at The Fern Lodge. The staff is professional, friendly and helpful. The lodge itself is amazing and done up as a modern day interpretation of a "great camp". All rooms have lake views! Remote gas fireplaces in the rooms, wood fireplaces all over the lodge for your to use to set the mood, and luxurious features in the rooms such as steam showers with multiple showerheads and jacuzzi tubs! There is an outdoor jacuzzi with a lake view. A wonderful place to get away with that special someone to reconnect or just to get a away and relax. Well worth the money, oh and the breakfast that is included is 2-3 courses of gormet food. We will definately be back for another visit.
