My family had been on the road a while and was getting late and after trying some of the other places in the area that had no vacancy we stopped here to try and get a room. It was very eery and the people running the front desk told my husband that he doesn't want to be there and we should leave asap. It was creepy to say the least.

Me and the DooDaw swung in for the night. My little dog and I needed a nice clean room with lots of space and a quiet atmosphere. They delivered. We recommend the Clayton Motel to any and all travelers who don't need pools, sauna's, weight rooms, breakfasts and all that. Spacious room, courteous staff and clean, clean clean!

Friendly staff. Great for our dogs! Old but clean. Reminds me of grandmas house. Perfect for quick stay on our road trip.

This place is better than sleeping in a car, but way far from a nice one. Probably not worth the money spent, but it is better to stay there than spending a night outside. Extremely outdated, it also had not very pleasant smell.

I have been staying here lil over a week and a half and have enjoyed the clean cozy room, friendly manager, and the convenience of the free Wi-Fi. I totally recommend this place if ur looking for comfort and affordable prices!

If I could rate them lower. I would. $60 will get you a room with a queen bed and 3 television stations. You won't get Wi-Fi, bath towels, a telephone, a trash can or refrigerator. I'm not sure what happened to the great staff mentioned in the other reviews. But they definately were not on duty for my stay.

Run down for the price, friendly staff.

Is funky, but it is the one place our family has always gone to when travelling home from our vacations to the high mountains of Colorado to Oklahoma. Rooms are always clean and have never had any troubles while staying here. Staff very attentive and we appreciate this family owned business!

Broke down and found Clayton Motel, the shop gave me a ride since I had no transportation. Check in was not until 2 PM but they let me check in early and I had a room for the night. Thank you, Clayton Motel.

Sweet little place, clean and restful. A bit dated but met our needs. Great helpful staff.

Very nice and clean rooms that have a real homey feeling. The price is right too, quiet and peaceful little place with a great view of the fabulous New Mexico summer sunsets!

Clean and friendly. I could leave and never worry about my things getting stolen. It feels like home.

I was happy when I saw my room. It smelled nice, not the usual musty smell that you expect from an older motel. The room was clean, cute & cozy. Loved the little touches like the vintage rocking recliner, and toasty gas heater. My pillows & bed were comfortable. They have directv too which is nice. I would definitely stay there again! Nice folks too; they have an unusual 10 am checkout time, but they gave me a later checkout when I asked nicely :) I enjoyed my stay. They run a nice motel!

This is a real traveler's motel. Clean, cheap, and easy. Loves doesn't have beer, but the Allsups does.

It's an old school hole in the wall motel. It's exactally what you think it is. You get what you pay for so don't complain.

My room was clean and tidy, but poorly maintenanced — broken mini-fridge and broken blinds in the bathroom. Since I did not require the kitchenette, it wasn't a problem and I had a pleasant stay. Would I stay here again? Yes, but I'll probably look at a few of the other places in town to see if they offer better value.

I come through Clayton alot on business and athough I wasn't impressed last time, I saw a lot of improvment. It is now under new managment and I was treated very nice. I had a talk with them and they have lots of new ideas for the place! Hope it works, I like the fact that it is a local business like my own.
