We were so looking forward to our 45th wedding anniversary stay while we looked for a retirement home. Unfortunately we had to cancel due to an unforeseen medical issue that is dictated by CDC current guidelines. The Inn would not offer to cancel our reservstion and charged us the full amount. Hard to understand during a Pandemic. Reached out to management but they just repeated their NO cancellation policy. Frustrating.

Beautiful scenery in a hidden part of Rehoboth Beach. More than ample size rooms and accommodations.

We loved our stay and will be returning. We had a beautiful clean room and enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Everything we needed for a relaxing getaway.

Quaint, personal, quiet location yet convenient to all the dining and attractions of Rehobeth. Definitely a gem.

My husband I come once a year for a little getaway and we love it. It is always clean and cozy. We look forward to coming each year.

Wonderful overnight stay within walking distance to the town. The room was immaculate, quiet and very comfortable for two. We would definitely consider a return stay when revisiting.

Arrival was iffy. The welcome wasn't as it should have been for a property of this size. The signs around the property we all restrictions adding to the less than warm reception. Because there was no balance of welcoming notes it seemed as if your money was welcomed but you were not. In fairness, we actually enjoyed the solace of the hot tub area. While the pool is the size of a medium sized hot tub, the area weather quiet enough to enjoy. Signs about the property: 1. Under no circumstances should you knock on this door 2. Do not get make up on the towels or you will be charged (found in bathroom) 3. Do not make noise past 10pm The continental breakfast was pleasant enough. If you're not sure what a canal is don't expect a spectacular water view. Getting to the beach is easy enough but parking was more than challenging. 3 hour time limits and the inability to re-up made spending time on the beach hard and while that is not a criticism of the hotel, it should be considered when planning your trip. All in all,, "meh". Certainly not worth what we paid but I guess we were paying for location.

We loved Canalside Inn. It was our first time to Rehoboth Beach and the stay made us fall in love with this hidden treasure. Walt at the front desk was delightful and very welcoming. The inn had charm but made me feel like I was staying at a boutique hotel. Highly recommend to others for a great getaway.

I was absolutely appalled at the rudeness we encountered while checking in, each time we passed by the front desk and also on the day we checked out. I recommended canalside Inn after staying there twice about 5 years ago and absolutely loved it. The Inn itself is still very nice and clean but I cannot believe the difference in the staff. We felt like we were a bother and were not welcome at all. We were not inclined to ask for any help or any information due to the borderline rudeness and disinterest of the person managing the front desk. Will never recommend canalside again. Apparently Hospitality means nothing there.

This inn is wounderful, charming, and a real gem within Rehoboth, including how friendly, polite, and courteous the staff are during my stay. Renting a room here gets you guaranteed parking that requires no meter, along with being walking distance to the beach. Upon entering Canalside Inn the front desk is discreetly tucked to the right side of the steps giving it more of a personal home feel when staying there for more than a day. A clever and convenient thing about this inn is that you don't get a room key, but a combination for the key pad, on your room door, so you never have to worry about holding onto the room key when visiting. Along with having a four digit combo for the exterior side door on the second floor to enter after 10pm. The guests rooms and bathrooms have a bright vibrant and modern decor that equals any boutique hotel in any major city to add to the chic styling the bathroom has an overhead rain shower accompanied by complimentary toiletries that last more than a one time use. All the rooms on the canal side also have their own door leading outside. The guest lounge is in the basement whicht continues the hip and relaxing boutique vibe. The lounge is where they serve their continental breakfast. Along with having a TV, computer, board games, books, and DVD's for guests to use and have fun with. On the out side of the lounge is the vending machine and ice machine.

Perfect! Peaceful setting right across from the Canal and away from the busy street — yet still close enough to walk anywhere around boardwalk/beach area. Free bike/beach chair rentals and continental breakfast were a plus. It doesn’t have a large pool but the plunge pool and hot tub were never overly crowded. We were the only ones using it in evening time. Very close to Grove Park where a lot of events happen, like the weekly farmer’s market. Exactly what we were looking for. Would come back again.

Pros: Facility is located in a very quiet and peaceful area. Rooms are fairly clean. Owners treat each guest as if they were their top priority. Rooms have very nice decor and taste. Cons: Facility is quite far from the beach and boardwalk. There is not much that they offer for breakfast. Pool and spa are really small and require some cleaning. Room rates are quite expensive for what they really offer.

Our golden retriever, Riley, goes wherever we do so pet friendly accommodations are a must and in the off season the options are very few which is why I was thrilled to get a great deal at Canalside Inn. We came down the end of January to celebrate both mine and Riley's (yes, we are those crazy dog parents) birthday and loved staying in Rehoboth. The owners are extremely friendly and really manage to make you feel like you are family. We had a corner queen room on the second floor and I loved all the natural light not to mention the contemporary furnishings. Each morning they serve a continental style breakfast with muffins, bagels, cereals and fresh fruit and juices in the basement lounge area that also offers sofas, big screen tv's with dvd players and even a computer and printer. I really liked that we didn't even need a key, rooms and entrance to the upper floor entrance is all via a code you are given upon check in and they even supply robes plus each room has a mini fridge, coffemaker (but no microwave — have to use the one in the lounge area). Even though Rehoboth's main drag is just down the street, the inn is on a very quiet cul de sac alongside the canal. The weather was a little brisk to enjoy the seating area on the deck and the pool/hot tub but hubby and I will definitely be back. If you're looking for a nice boutique style inn with Bed & Breakfast service search no further, this place is amazing.

The location is weird, and the rooms are a little expensive, but very nice.

Decent if you have a pet but nothing special. Little small and requires a good cleaning.

Im having a horrible experience with my first vacation ever in at best a pet accessable hotel. I am guilty of leaving my girls molly and Sadie alone in the room while my wife and I went out to get a quick bite. Molly got anxious and would not stop barking between 5-630. Your no bark zone quiet time is 10 pm to 9 am which I think she barked twice maximum to go out. I got a phone call from walt and was told about other guests complaining about Molly's barking. I apologized and told him I am coming right back to solve the problem. He asked in a snide way are you staying here tommorow night as well. I firmly told him I am not going home tonigjt it is raining. We will discuss this matter in the morning and move forward from there He said in a very snippy way fine I just dont like my customers complaining. Am I not one of the customers. May I suggest in the future you ask customers if this is there first time traveling with there dogs if so tell them not to leave dogs alone in room during meals and have a list of pet friendly restaurants available. Better customet service will be needed for you to move from pet accessable to pet friendly.

Very nice, kinda homey. Good for quiet people… If ya wanna rage you'd be better off else where.

This place is right on the C&D canal. Beautiful setting and walking distance to the shops and boardwalk. Our room was very nice. The design and colors make it cozy and breezy. They offer a typical Continental breakfast. And it pet friendly! The walls separating the rooms must not be very sound proof. They have a sign requesting TV and conversation be quite between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am. We couldn’t hear anyone next store. My wife took the quite request to the extreme and kept telling me the TV was too loud and to lower my voice all throughout the visit no matter what time it was. So for personal reasons we may not come back. But it is a great place.

Good Hotel for a short break. Nice clean rooms. About a mile from boardwalk. Close to restaurants.

Charming little B&B in a great location close to Rehoboth Ave. We book a weekend every year and have never been disappointed.

I enjoyed my visit and would go back again for the following reasons. It was very peaceful and quite. The decor is beautiful and the coffee and muffins were a nice touch. Just lived it.

Great location, within a 10 minute walk to some awesome bars and food (especially Dogfish Head Pub). Nice rooms, staff was very polite.

Intimate, very pet-friendly resort. Modest breakfast offered in a nice space in the basement. Tiny pool. Hot tub. In Rehoboth Beach in a nice quiet neighborhood on the canal. Rooms are very small.

Needed a getaway and this was a great choice. Close enough to the beach but far enough for some quiet space by the canal. If I had any complaint (and really none) it would be to have fresh fruit at the breakfast table. Overall good experience. I have already recommended it to friends and would definitely come back.

The room was very cute but a little small. And there are lots and lots of rules. Front desk wasn't very friendly but overall was a pleasant experience.

Very nice and quiet place to stay. Everything is very clean and the up most care is taken in the little details. Really for a nice retreat style vacation. Will come back with just my wife next time.

Rehoboth here we come! Called months ago to make our summer family reservations. My son is a severe asthmatic, so I had several questions. Steve was so patient & respectful to me over the phone. I made a couple more calls to ask more questions & he was kind & helpful :) Plus we have minature (under 10lbs) emotional support dogs for our son, they are part of our family, Again Steve was reassuring & AWESOME! Many places don't give you kind, respect or time over the phone, Steve did it ALL of it :) I truly appreciated your time & reassurence Steve for our soon to be family vacation:) Have a blessed & awesome day! Clean and located well. A sink in the kitchenette would be very helpful. Dog friendly. HD TV would be nice. Quiet and peaceful.

I loved it :-) came here for my honeymoon with my wife. I picked this place cause it was lgbt friendly. Very friendly staff cute rooms nice breakfast. Shower was awesome had a rainfall shower … this is now our go to place when we come to rehoboth.

It is very quaint and extremely nice staff and rooms. They were very accommodating with our late arrival time. This was our first trip to Delaware and we have been very pleased.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights this past late April and we loved it! I was so thankful with the affordable off-season pricing in general. We were welcomed when we checked in and were provided with some very helpful magazines/pamphlets for shopping/dining. We had a Queen room and it was very comfortable, clean and bright. The room was a little small but we honestly didn't mind at all since we spent most of our time out at the beach/shopping. We're not always the best waking up in the morning at home, but we really enjoyed going down for breakfast at this Inn and having a variety of options. The owner (s) were very friendly and we had a nice chat with them one morning, as well as with other equally friendly guests. I want to add that I read a previous review complaining about how "far" away the Inn is from the beach? I don't know what that was all about but we walked from the Inn to the gift shops/boardwalk/beach every day and found it to be a pleasant walk. Was good to walk off the ice cream and fish n chips. Lol The short walk along the road where the Inn is located was really lovely too. Just had to put that out there. Like I said, we were only able to stay for 3 nights due to my boyfriend's work schedule, so we were pretty sad having to leave. I'm keeping the website bookmarked so we can see about visiting again later this year~

Our beach house cancelled on us for a night. We searched pet friendly locations and gave them a call. Not only was the reception exceptionally welcoming, they made sure to wait for us to get there! I'm almost sad to only be here for a night! For being pet friendly, I was hesitant… smelling other dogs, finding pet hair, or fleas. BUT this place is SPOTLESS! Crisp clean bedding… large bathroom for 2 to get ready… real glassware… plush robes… microwave… mini fridge and I can't leave out the decor! The neighborhood is quiet and the canal is soothing… I really could go on! We're thinking our next trip to Delaware should just be here for the week!

This is a great quaint place with a hip hostel-style atmosphere but still a full inn. Despite what some of the other reviewers warned about, I was welcomed graciously, taken to my room, and shown around the place. The common kitchen area downstairs is very nice with a sink, coffee, refrigerator, actual silverware and plates and a big solid table. The living room has comfy chairs and couches, board games and books, 2 HD televisions, movies to watch if you want, etc. The bed was soft with clean crisp sheets, the room was clean, there was a table and two chairs, good A/C unit, I had an iron and mini ironing board, a fridge, nice clean bathrobes and towels, lots of windows with blinds, etc. Very cool place and I will return for sure.

Wife and I as well as another couple stayed here for a short weekend while looking for a summer vacation rental. This place is amazing. The entire inn is beautiful and sleek. The furnishing in the 2 king rooms we rented were exactly as described but better. Our room had a giant walk in shower with overhead rain shower head. The room itself was large and had a common balcony with chairs to people watch. I have been coming to Rehoboth Beach for several years now and this is by far the nicest place I've stayed. It's just a short walk to town and the area is very quite at night. I will definitely use this place as my go to spot to stay when in Rehoboth and recommend it to anyone thinking of staying there. Tip of the hat to the staff for running such a beautiful inn and keeping it so immaculately clean. The rates were great as well and it is one of the few places that rents year round which is a plus.

PET FRIENDLY! My dogs love the place and we always stay for the weeks just before and just after the peak season. At those times, the dogs are allowed to sit out with me on Dewey Beach all day (not just during off-peak hours). Also you don't need a parking permit. I really hate the other few dog-friendly Rehoboth hotels — they are just so nasty. I know this for a fact because they're literally the same places where I stayed when I was in high school (usually at least six teenagers and one keg per room). For me, location v. Room quality is a fair trade-off. You should go elsewhere if a short walk to the ocean and/or putting in lots of bar time are a priority. They do lend out bicycles here as part of the service (I've never used them, but they seem like the ideal solution for the distance issue). Being on the canal is lovely and quiet; there are benches next to the water and you might see a blue heron or two. Canalside is *independently* owned and operated, so the decor, etc. Feels uniquely personal — especially in the world of beach resorts. Small independent businesses are part of the backbone of this amazing community. As far as I can recall, the only major chain in town is the Starbucks. There is even an incredibly tiny pool and hot tub out the back. It is by far and away the tiniest pool I have ever seen, but at least it's outdoors (unlike many hotel pools). It's not for everyone size — or taste-wise, but I really enjoy it.

My husband and I have been staying here for 6 years. First started as our summer vacation spot now it's our winter getaway and anniversary spot too. We enjoy visiting. The owners are accomodating and patient with our energy, (we are always pumped up! ), and we can bring our pets or not. They also have their own pets so we enjoy that too. The place is beautifully decorated and in a great location. I highly recommend CanalSide.

I gave this place a 2 star rating only because it was clean. Other than that the service was bad. The owner was rude; he did not even give us eye contact when checking us in. I did not feel welcome here. We have stayed in many bed and breakfasts but we will NEVER stay here again! When we called to book the room we asked if they had soft beds and they said yes but they were not. We were misled by this and would have gone to another place. They have a pool and hot tub but they are very small. It is too far from the beach and we knew that but we did not know how bad the parking is by the beach. Find a place closer to the beach if you go often.
