Terrible experience and incredibly disappointing for a Hilton. Cleaning: did not replenish coffee or cups, did not clean shower at all. And to top it all off, was met by a centipede in the bathroom. No thanks, never again.

Room service person is rude, food is not that good just like her attitude, indoor pool water is cold, we chose this hotel so my son can swim and he was too cold to enjoy it, breakfast juices were in bottles not sitting on ice, ran out of coffee cups, beds were too little and uncomfortable, didnt feel like it was Hilton at all.

Just was there this weekend for my wedding and I couldn't be happier. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The food was out of this world and we had a few dietary restrictions with our guests and everything tasted delicious. They even let us stay in the reception room for a few extra hours and do karaoke! Also, I was barefoot throughout the ceremony and reception and all over that hotel and I was really expecting the bottoms of my feet to be filthy by the end of the day but kudos to the cleaning staff there because my feet weren't hardly even dirty at all! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to book an event. My experience was absolutely wonderful. Special shout out to Betsy who made all this happen for us. Honestly, when you think 'Hilton', you automatically expect excellence… You don't expect cracked, broken and missing caulk in the bathroom and a gaping hole in the shower, which runs both the tub faucet and shower head at the same time… And you can't change this. It just does it. It looked more like a ghetto econolodge bathroom. Just my thoughts. The rest of the hotel was ok, beds were getting a little worn, but the room was clean. Price wise? Just don't feel like it was worth that kind of money. Just a little disappointed.

The hotel rooms are standard and the staff was very attentive and nice. That being said the sleeper sofa was absolutely the worst bed I've ever slept on. It shouldn't even be an option to put people on them.

Hotel and hotel staff were great. The food was decent for hotel food. The pool and hot tub area is maintained nicely. Exercise room is a little small but has several pieces of equipment and is clean. Would highly recommend this hotel if you are in the Rockaway area.

My room was nice and being located next to the Rockaway mall is very convenient for food and entertainment. Also liked that the room had a hard wired Internet connection. Biggest problem was that lobby and hallways were not air conditioned; unfortunately, I was staying on the hottest day of the year and my hallways temperature was over 80F.

Stayed here for a wedding and had a good experience. Large, comfortable, clean rooms. Very helpful front desk staff. There is a buffalo wild wings right behind the hotel and a mall not a far walk away.

Got the first room down the hallway on the first floor. That was after waiting 10 minutes after checking in (it was about 9pm) while they flipped the room, which apparently involved spraying down a stain on the floor with something that left that spot wet. People loudly walking by all night. The thermostat kept switching to a high temperature and cutting off the A/C until we woke up (once around midnight, once around 3am) in stifling heat to adjust it. The bathroom didn’t have a fan, just one of those crappy low flow vents.

We stayed for a wedding and were pleased with the accommodations and service. When packing the car, my husband left my dress in the closet, however, and apparently the hotel was unable to recover it. I called several times throughout the weekend and couldn’t get anyone to pick up. When I finally got ahold of someone, I was told they didn’t find a dress and that they even double checked the room and weren’t able to find it. Evidently, it was stolen, which is a shame. I can’t rate a dishonest staff more than two stars.

Just a quick overnight stop; no problems, rooms perfect. Easy to reach. From highway.

The hotel is always clean, has a great breakfast and is in a good location. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Jessica, the night manager.

Good business travel hotel. No frills, although they do have a pool. Convenient to the mall, useful as any other restaurants require traveling for miles.

We stayed at the hotel for my daughter's wedding weekend. The staff was professional and accommodating. The rooms were very nice. We had a problem with the toilet in the bridal suite. We called and they sent a maintenance guy to fix. The breakfast in the morning was very good. We also had the rehearsal dinner in the ballroom and they did a great job. The service and food were very good.

We were there during the first power outage this winter for just the night. It looked like a wedding was also checking in and it was very busy but the front desk took it in stride! The rooms were very nice and quiet as well for being in the mall district.

Family stayed two nights while visiting from out of town. No issues, clean room, courteous staff. Breakfast wasn't great.

I am a Hilton Honors member (silver) and I have stay here multiple times over the years for business. It has always been a nice, clean hotel with a friendly staff but a recent incident that was totally my fault deserves recognition. I had forgotten to cancel a reservation and was subsequently charged a nights stay for it. Even though it was my fault, Judy graciously waved the charge and refunded the amount to my credit card. Awesome customer service that you don't get everywhere or everyday.

Only went for the bar but it's a pretty hotel and all the workers are super nice and friendly.

In the Mall parking lot, this is a nicer than expected property, with helpful staff. Worth saying in if you're in the area.

I was not happy with the way I was treated by the Manager of the hotel. The Hotel was very crowded and the manager would not give me a time that I could check in. He wouldn't even guarantee me that I could check in by 3. I had a wedding that night and kept pressing him but found him very rude (They had 3 weddings parties staying at the hotel). He was suppose to call me when the room was ready so I went to the mall. I did not receive a call but my husband was checking in when I came back. When we got back from the wedding and into our room you could here the noise from the DJ playing at another wedding or an after party. It was so loud I could actually identify the song that was playing. I did not call and complain because you had to sign a paper when you check in which stated that last call was at 1:30 at the Bar. I assumed that was when the party would be over but it did not end until 2. I understand that hotels have parties but I have never experienced it being so loud in my room. I am a Hilton Honors member and I am used to very friendly service. This was the worst experience I have had at a Hilton Hotel.

Although our room was not ready for check-in and we had to wait 45 minutes which was very frustrating but they did there best to accommodate us. They comped us drinks at the bar, appetizers and breakfast without us even asking. The staff was very friendly and the hotel decor was new and fresh looking. It's walking distance to many stores like Christmas tree shop and 5 below.

We had a really great brunch after a wedding. The staff was very courteous and nice. The food was very good. The eating area was very clean and we had a great time being able to talk at multiple tables for an event.

The Staff has been super friendly. But it's been a chaotic stay. Our air conditioning has been broken all weekend. They have been too full to switch our room. One of the elevators is broken so it's a long wait. It's 5pm and housekeeping never made it to the room. It has a pretty lobby and the staff at the front desk was friendly. Someone needs to invest more in letting the place run well though!

Hotel is very pretty and comfy. Just had one issue with our room. The bath tub was backed up so I asked for another room. They said they would fix the issue so I waited for maintenance. He worked on the tub but then I felt a bit grossed out since if was dirty water that was backing up. I again asked for a new room and they did accommodate me and also gave me breakfast passes. I am pleased with the results and know it was not the hotel's fault for the problem but they took care of us. Very pretty decorations for the holidays too. Staff is top notch.

Very nice hotel in a good location next to a shopping center. We stayed for a wedding in Sparta and had a pleasant experience. One of the biggest issues was the antiquated climate control system which was very loud and did not keep the room at the temperature I set it to.

I always enjoy staying at the HGI. The rooms are beautiful and well kept, and the food is good too.

My son and I have been staying a weekend here once a month for a while now, it's our special time together, he luvs the pool and the hot tub, and also the breakfast we have there. He especially luvs making his own waffles. The staff our sooo nice and friendly, I know it's a business, But they really make us feel like it's a second home there, especially Andrew Carroll he's one cool dude. You guys will definitely have a repeat customer from me, see u guys again in May.

We stayed here the night after our wedding and were upgraded to the presidential suite! Room was terrific, the staff was very friendly and helpful, we ordered room service which was great (not the best food ever but for hotel room service it was nice). If we're ever in the area again we'll be sure to stay here!

The room was decent. It was both clean and spacious. The Garden Grille was an exceptional bright spot in my week long stay. Chef Dee was able to cultivate great flavor from many items on a surprisingly complex menu. The hotel offers both a heated pool and whirlpool for those that are so inclined.

Rooms were clean and the daily breakfasts were consistent. Hotel staff were very courteous, and a business center was available with free printing services. Additionally, there was plenty of parking and numerous nearby restaurants and shopping opportunities.

Clean comfortable and easy. I was here on business for just one day I have used the gym which was well kept small but basic machines to get a workout done. It is near a lot of shopping in the mall if I had needed it.

This was one of the worse experiences I had as a hotel. I trusted the hilton brand for my wedding block. They charged us for every TINY thing. They double charged my card, I had to stay on the phone for 1 hours THE DAY BEFORE MY WEDDING to get the situation fixed. Still they charged my guests when the rooms were already paid for. Poor customer service, lack of response. ZERO accountability. I would never stay at this hotel again nor ever recommend it to a friend.

Water damage in room as soon as we arrived, leaking from floor above us. Water was bubbling up behind the paint and wall paper. Used a couple trash cans to collect the water. The following day someone came to fix the problem from above us and wipe up the walls.

Easy to find. Room was very nice & quiet. Couldn't ask for it to be any better.

WEDDING/GROUP PARTIES BEWARE! I am a frequent Hilton guest and have seldom had a poor experience until this last weekend. My brother booked a block of rooms for his wedding at a set rate, this rate was quite a bit pricier than the AAA rate (about $30 more per night), and we needed about 25 rooms. After talks with the sales manager, who was very nice, they gave everyone the AAA rate and everyone was happy… Until we got there for the wedding… Upon arrival, our first room had the terrible stench of cigarette smoke. They were kind and accommodating and moved us to another room with unfortunately, a busted air conditioner. Being that it is mid-August, this was unacceptable. After having people come up to the room at 1am, they finally moved us the following morning. The same was not true for 12 of the other wedding guests who had faulty air conditionings, as well. This was all due to, what they say, an energy saving sensor. I guess it worked too well… My brother's (the groom's) room, also smelled like smoke. Not a good way to get ready for a wedding. PS, the entire hotel in non-smoking. The icing on the cake is when the front desk staff gave away our wedding party's welcome bags to guests who were not there for the wedding! I alerted the front desk that they were doing this after I saw strangers in the elevator with our bags, and yet, they still continued to give out the bags. The hotel manager made up some more bags for us, but at that point the damage had already been done.

We have the best experience, good services, room very clean… we enjoy and we love it.

I wish there was "zero stars. " This hotel is ridiculous. I have been there on two occasions for weddings, and I have honestly felt so horrible for the brides. The wait staff, cleaning staff, and front desk staff are great, the management is not. Police needed to be called, the manager told the bride, on her wedding night that her and her guests needed to leave because of something that did not even happen. At BOTH weddings I attended they over booked the rooms, and did not adhere to the room block for both weddings. I would avoid this hotel at all costs. Now I know how an apparent hooker ring went through here — the management team are dumb as rocks. Actually. Rocks are smarter.

Let me start by saying that the staff who interacts directly with customers are wonderful. We had no issues with them, the service was excellent. The folks responsible for booking our wedding block absolutely ruined our experience. Through lack of follow up on their part, misinforming guests about basic features, severe delays, utter rudeness. It was a truly disappointing experience and I would never recommend them for any event. In the end we had few guests who were actually willing to put up with the nonsense. This should have been the least stressful part of the wedding and yet it was the worst and most upsetting. I am 100% dissatisfied and disappointed.

Very clean. Nice staff. Convenient shopping with major food chains. I'm HAPPY n that's saying a lot.

The Hilton Garden Inn in Rockaway, NJ is conveniently located in the midst of every shopping facility you can fancy. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. On our first morning downstairs for complimentary breakfast my husband and I were greeted to bright smiling faces always asking how we doing. We had a room that was close to the elevator and I thought that maybe the noise from traffic in that area would be a problem but it was so not. If you're looking for a place that's clean, with a pool, friendly, helpful and courteous staff. Stay here.

This is NOT the place to stay on weekend that host events. Dealing with intoxicated guest and the staff not dealing with problems.

We like them here. It is well maintained and the staff has always been nice.
