Great night staff, our vist has been very pleasant so far.

Very nice hotel considering location. Everything is close to get to Prudential center in walking distance. We will definitely come back again next show we go to if possible.

We stayed in the hotel on june 28th. Sonia Williams was very helpful for us when we needed service to get to other place. She went the extra mile as customer service, showing us how to get the information on the computer making us feel comfortable. She really represents Marriott. Thank you Sonia.

I’ve stayed at the Courtyard a few times and it’s very cozy.

It was a really good experience staying in the hotel. The place was nice and welcoming modern style. We had a nice view of the outdoor space. They had indoor pool and gym which is open 24 hours. The room was clean and had a very positive aura. The lighting was good, carpets are clean, bathroom is good. Totally recommended.

Great room and staff were friendly. We went as a large group and they provided us with a great breakfast.

Located next to City Hall in downtown Newark, this brand new Courtyard is fresh and modern. Newark Penn Station is walking distance, with a quick transit to NYC and elsewhere by train. There are a few good restaurants and bars around the Prudential Center nearby. I recommend this hotel if you are flying out of EWR and have enough time to enjoy going into NYC or want to get out of the hotel.

I could feel the rudeness from the attitudes of receptionist. It was the only one problem of one receptionist, but I felt very awful and got furious with her action and way of talking as we are the most annoying people in the world. Her frowning face and shouting voice as if my tour guide is the person who can't understand English, was enough to leave very negative impression about this inn. Sorry for her, but I've got educated enough to recognize all of her humilitating attitude and way of talking isn't appropriate as the attitude on the guests. The room was clean and satisfying. However, I definitely can tell that some of the staffs should be educated more. Most of the staffs were very kind and nice just except for this receptionist.

The location was perfect for my 2 days of meetings in Newark. The room and hotel staff were fabulous!

Very nice and clean and new experience my 1st time here I must say me being a trucker this place is worth it even tho I couldn't park my truck here.

Great location. Right next to the Prudential center. Clean hotel and brand new. Rooms are very nice and the conference room area is pristine. Highly recommend for any trip to Newark or the Prudential center.

Located on Broad St. The Courtyard is central to the hustle and bustle of downtown Newark. Convenient shopping and activities the Courtyard is the perfect place to stay for your overnight fun while visiting Newark, NJ. The rooms were standard, two queen sized beds, a flat screen television with basic cable plus HBO, refrigerator, coffee, tea and a decent bathroom. The hotel offered a restaurant on the lobby floor with Starbucks coffee. The lobby was open and were filled with plenty of seating area to gather. The hotel staff was nice and accommodating. All things that you would expect from a chain hotel. However, there are a few things that I found that would have improved our stay. My family had a flood and elected to stay at the Courtyard because of its proximity to our home. Unfortunately, because of a Nor'easter, we had to stay longer than we'd anticipated. I believe there are things that the hotel could have done to ensure a pleasant stay for us but weren't offered. The parking in the hotel is not free, but there isn't anywhere to park. The parking lot is shared with the Prudential building, if there is an event guests of the hotel will have a tough time finding parking. Furthermore, guests are told to park on the 5th floor and above. At $26 for parking, I think the guests should guaranteed a spot but also be able to park on the level the hotel entrance is on. The hotel rooms that we were given had refrigerators but they were tiny, big enough to had a few bottles in.

Not a typical Mariott. Really strong Marijuana smell throughout the hallway. You really can hear the cars driving on the street below, and even the music being played in the car. Skip it if there is a choice!

I needed a last min. Get away and thus place was great! I got the best sleep ever!

The hotel was so clean the room in excellent condition and the staff was great, one of the girls in the front desk name Sonia was so nice and attended. We where there for Marc Anthony concert and the stay was the best…

Very clean and modern rooms. Helpful and friendly staff. Great central location, close to many restaurants as well a the Prudential Center by foot.

Courtyard by Marriott Newark Downtown was a very clean and friendly environment. I really like the convenience of having the parking garage attached to the hotel, since finding parking in big cities always is it anxiety for me. Check-in was fast and easy as well as check out. The room was very neat and tidy. Would definitely stay again!

Not a place if you are a tourist or have a family. I knew before putting my car in Park, that this hotel was not going to work. However 5 stars for the guy who helped us rebook about 20 minutes up the Road in Lynhurst. Great hotel if you are staying solo or going to an event at the prudential center.

I chose this particular location because it’s literally within a 5 minute walking distance from the Prudential Center. The location is very convenient however it’s Newark so as you might imagine, the downtown and surrounding area is pretty much the poverty stricken slums. As far as the hotel itself; the staff are very nice. Do not buy anything from the 24 hour market on the main floor, it’s very expensive. My room was very nice however when I pulled back the sheets on the mattress (as I routinely do when staying @ hotels) I noticed the mattress was old, dirty and stained with yellow stuff. I didn’t even sleep under the covers. I laid on the bed and used my jacket as a blanket. Parking cost me $20/night. I was told to park on the 5th floor. The entrance to the hotel is located on the first floor. Once you’re off the elevator you have to drag your luggage through the garage where cars are coming in and out. Very weird how it’s set up. Overall the staff were very nice. Probably won’t ever stay there again due to the dirty mattress.

I knew 2 minutes after arriving that I would never return again. First of all 21 dollars to park anywhere in Newark is ridiculous. But to not indicate there is a $21 charge for parking at anytime during the reservation process is unacceptable. The parking process is inconvenient and tedious. You're told to park on the 3rd floor then take the elevator down to the 1st then there's a sign pointing up a dangerous ramp which you must walk up to get to the entrance of the hotel mind you carrying luggage. Once inside the hotel you must walk up a flight of stairs to get to the lobby while carrying luggage. Of course when we arrive there's no one at the desk to check us in so we I had to wait for the young lady to come out of hiding to check us in. We later discovered she was around the other side of the wall socializing with a gentleman. It was fairly early and the little cafe was closed so I just purchased a juice which costed $3.55 I guess you are paying for convenience. But nonetheless almost $4 for a small bottle of juice is outrageous.

The best hotel chain in the world, in the best possible location in downtown Newark. Everything about this hotel is amazing the rooms are clean the staff is friendly and the food and drinks are great. Would definitely recommend it to anybody visiting area.

Marriott is a rip off and I will not stop telling the world until my issue is acknowledged and resolved. I am working american who is not rich. I have spent thousands of dollars staying with your chain and the thanks I get is to charge me in error then not care enough to resolve it. I used my hard earned points to book a stay yet my card was still charged even though I was told it would not be. Now it's a blame game between hotels and rewards yet no one is giving me my money back! This is unacceptable, especially from someone who has stayed with you for over 74 nights in less than 3mths. Someone who has literally stayed with you for a year at a time.

Best Bang for your buck. The room was clean and looked very upscale for the price I paid. Only a few minute walk to the PATH. The only downside its in Newark.

Nice hotel… but parking then having to walk your luggage up and down stairs to check in … is not great in my eyes… doesn't look like great place for handicap… they do have a snack bar… both room and bar are also bit pricey… but you are paying for convenience.

Enjoyed the hotel until the maid service banged on my door most days at 8a. M. The washer and dryer cost $2.00 and $1.75, respectfully, and you must run each one twice if you hope to actually clean and dry your clothes. The machines also only take quarters, which the front desk was out of 2 days I asked for change. I would avoid staying here if you could.

Room was okay. There were no tissues in the tissue box. The food from bistro was better than expected. Wings were a little rubbery. The staff was friendly. A room was requested during booking close to the elevator, but I received the one the farthest from it.

The showers had no safety bars. They where very slippery. The breakfast was handle really badly. Not enough workers for the amount of people. Front people where not friendly at all.

Between the fire alarm requiring a fast trip down 6 flights in the emergency stairwell around 9PM and then going off repeatedly almost a dozen times afterwards around 1:15AM, it wasn't "bad". But add to it the midnight booming of a man's "acapella concert" on the 5th floor of the Prudential garage right outside my window; a loud A/C unit that cranked up like a jet turbine every time it came on, and the Newark sanitation truck emptying dumpsters in the alley at 4:30AM, a restf…ul sleep was not possible. Mind you — the bed was plush, the room was clean, the food in the lobby cafe was tasty, and the staff friendly. I am not faulting that. Sleep, for me, after a long day's journey or work on the road, is important. I had an 8am presentation to make at the hotel the next morning and was tired from the lack of sleep. I travel a lot for work and have stayed in well over 700 hotels in 48 states. Sadly, for me, this was the worst night's stay any where.

The room was decent enough although we had one where the window faced the wall of another building. The beds and pillows were too soft to provide any support. There's a fridge with no freezer and a one-cup coffeemaker to make free coffee each morning. It's best to make your own coffee rather than have the so-called Starbucks at the downstairs Bistro. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Waited over 45 min for airport shuttle that never came. There is a 6'+ cement wall 10' from my hotel window and I'm on the 5th floor. Crappy service at the hotel bar — which is run more like a cafeteria. The bar food? Just as bad and they were running out of everything at 8pm. TV in room oddly placed and can't comfortably watch from bed. The neighborhood is rough and I spent over a decade in Detroit. Marriott rewards member and didn't provide free bottled water like every other Marriott I travel to. Won't be staying here again… ever.

The hotel itself wasn't bad. Room was pretty nice but bathroom should have been cleaner (some stray hairs on the floor and in the shower stall). The neighbourhood is rough though. A lot of people hanging around without any apparent purpose. I'm a guy that travels a lot and doesn't usually mind a gritty part of town but I would not walk around here after dark. Airport shuttle runs once an hour. Woman at the front desk on her cellphone taking a personal call when I checked out. The hotel phone just rang and rang the whole time. I won't stay here again.

Very friendly staff, good building. The food is expensive, though, and there is no continental breakfast or pool. It's close to some decent locations.

I was here for kcon16ny. It was very convenient, parking was cheap and it was really convenient to be able to grab a coffee between events.

Decent location about 10 minutes from the rail station. Next to a parking garage. Elevators require a key card, something I've never seen before. Rooms are comfy, but the TV channel selection is poor.

Courtyard Newark downtown was reasonably priced. Very nice and clean inside and out. Bed was very comfortable. There was a small section next to the check in desk where you could purchase snacks/drinks/toiletries etc. There was also a little restauran off to the side where you could sit and eat. The menu was not very extensive but had a little something for everyone. The only downside is that there isn't free parking. The prudential center parking garage is attached to the courtyard. So you can park there and access the hotel from the 2nd level of the garage. All in all it was a nice hotel and convenient for an overnight stay.

Meets expectations of the Marriott Courtyard brand. Clean rooms, good Wi-Fi, helpful staff. I had to have dry cleaning done and they were able to get it done in the timeline I needed. The only drawback — UBER drivers are sent to the wrong side of the street if you request a pick up from this hotel, not the hotel's fault but worth knowing if you use UBER frequently.

Great service! Had the best time at the Exo concert in February! Sooo close to the prudential center!

Typical Courtyard room layout, but the beds were noticeably more comfortable than most hotel beds. Lobby was newly renovated.

In the middle of the 12-hour short stay I stayed here for 8 hours. Nice hotel, clean, staff very helpful. The only problem is that I have to make two phone calls to the front desk to allow shuttle bus to take me. Once they told me 15 minutes, I waited for almost 40 minutes.

Hotel was great, comfortable clean rooms and friendy staff. Perfect for NJ Devils fans, as the hotel is right next door. We will be back.

Stayed for a Devils game. Room seemed in good shape, buy had a dirty wrapped glass which made me question cleanliness. All in all a decent experience.

I got a room that was not cleaned and the front desk rep gave me a bunch of snacks from the market and a suite as a complementary gift. I thought that was nice given the fact that it was not a big deal that room wasn't cleaned I just wanted a new one.

I left my luggage in my room and did not realize it until I arrived at the airport. I had no time to retrieve it. The hotel staff came through with flying colors and shipped my suitcase overnight to my home address. I will happily continue as a faithful Marriott customer.

Very clean rooms, polite staff, and the free Wi-Fi works really well. Very comfortable beds. Nice bathrooms. With the new corridor to the parking garage between floors 1 and 2, its a lot easier than before. Its a bit of a challenge to bring in your own bags in through a parking garage with no carts there from the hotel. People who say its in a bad neighborhood should realize its in Newark!
