I rate this hotel ZERO stars. What a filthy disgusting health hazard this place is! I have never seen anything like it. They placed us in a smoking room when what I had booked was a pet-friendly room. But I was told that they were all sold out and there were no other rooms available. As I had just driven 12-hours to attend a funeral, I was hardly in the state of mind to find another hotel. I took a few sedatives to knock me unconscious. That is the only way I could tolerate this filth and stench. Do you remember the story of Jack and the Bean Stalk? Well, I imagine that if one were to climb that bean stalk and come across the giant's heavily used ash tray that had never been cleaned, and were to then throw a pillow and blanket inside this giant ashtray and go to sleep, that you would experience what I experienced at the Days Inn Hillsborough. The stench and filth of cigarettes make my throat raspy. And the next morning I awoke with BLACK ON MY TONGUE! It was as if I had been licking the inside of a dirty ash tray. I am shocked that I did not have an asthma attack. I have stayed in 5-star hotels and 3-star hotels. I have said in youth hostels and I have stayed in a tent. And I can say with certainty that I would rather stay in the kennel where I board my dogs when I travel than to stay at the Days Inn Hillsborough. Or a horse barn. Or under a bridge. Anywhere is better than the Days Inn Hillsborough.

Low maintenance, cigarettes burns in every blanket. Carpet very dirty. Pool more so for children but this is not a place I would want my children to spend the night. Blow dryer doesn't work. Maintenance don't come if you staying for extended stay. We stayed for a week and she never came once. Breakfast is put away after 9am. Gotta bug them for extra towels and if cleaning lady leaves you can't request anything clean til the next day. Hillsborough is a nice area but this hotel is far from nice even with the decent price.

Desk person was very rude. He was sleeping on the couch in the lobby when we arrived and yelled at us upon our arrival. Rooms smelled of mildew. Carpet was damp. Paper towels would’ve worked better than the towels offered in bathroom. Walls of room wear dirty. Mildew stains in the shower and shower curtain. No parking that felt safe to park the care over nigh. Greatly not worth the $190 a night.

This place is genuinely a dump. The place smells like cigarette smoke. The furniture in your room is all destroyed. There's holes in the walls and a giant trash heap behind the pool. The staff at the front desk are very standoffish. I mean the pictures speak for themselves I think. This place was nice looking 14 years ago so what happened since then I'll never know.

We stayed for a funeral since we had a young child that we didnt want to tow back and forth so late and so early the next day. It took over 20 minutes to check in. The room was a decent size but were outdated, although the bathroom may have had some work done. There were pulls, stains, and discoloration in the bedspreads and dark circular stains on the lamp shade, which looked like blood and a lot of it. Also, that same lamp didn't work. The breakfast was okay. However, the beds were soft and comfortable.

Didn't get to stay there this time on this trip around they were booked up and no room at the inn. But we have stayed there in the past and it was very accommodating and comfortable and the staff were there for any needs that you have. We would definitely stay there again when you get the chance.

Im not one to complain but this is completely absurd. First off my girlfriend and I need a room to stay for the night and made the mistake of coming here. The first room we got as soon as we walked in the trash was full there was boxes everywhere the bed wasnt made up no pillows etc. We go down to the lobby and demand another room thinking this time it would be ok. Wrong the second room although everything seemed fine at first upon using the bathroom, just to find bugs everywhere. At this point its 3:30am and we dont have time to leave to go find another place it took 3 tries just to get a room that was somewhat clean. I would avoid this hotel at all cost I've seen other hotels 100 times nicer for the same cost. I am very disappointed and will be demanding my money back tomorrow after showing the videos we took.

Hey… The ivory tower in green Brook is a blessing compared to this place… I mean. Snots on the wall buckets under the sink … roaches cumshots etc. No BS… Shady people… Felt like I was being a dime bag in downtown Newark. Rather than staying the night.

The hotel is dated, I will give you that. I read the reviews and asked to see the room prior to check in. It was clean within reason, but dated. Sheets were clean and bed seems comfortable, which is what is needed. If your looking for upscale and the pricing that comes with it. If you are passing through and need an inexpensive place for the night, give it a try. Just ask to see the room first!

Ok. I stayed here lets just say extended. It was a while with some breaks inbetween throughout july, aug, oct, nov, dec, jan. (major surgery place was great to get around in). Cleanliness? Never had a problem. Always clean room. Helped that I was alone and I dont leave messes around. If I felt something was needed, always taken care of with a smile and a great attitude. Hallways always clean? No. Not during day, but, knowing how many people were there to shop night before, it was completely understandable. We are talking empty boxes, not food and stuff all over. Breakfast? Yes it was slim, but it was always there and fresh! Kitchen? Very limited, but lots of places for delivery as well! Insects? The only thing I ever saw was a stink bug or two. Its nj. You cant do anything about a stink bug or two! Never anything else. And yes, I checked room everytime I checked back in. I always had same room close to door so I could get in and out easily. Staff? Everyone was great! From the brothers management, the bar staff, the kitchen (shes the best! ) to the maintanace — all great guys (go manny! ) and ladies! And the front desk very helpful, trust me I needed it alot during stay! Well, in florida finishing healing and therapy now. But I can walk again! Thanks to staff for not making me stress out or over exert myself! Will be back when in nj! Hope you can tolerate me again! Lol!

I would rate this place negative if I could. It was disgusting. We got a refund and left. Coming from out of town and trying to find a place is hard enough. We had no where to sleep that night but in our car. Very displeased with this.

Family friendly I'm disabled and they treated me very kindly. I love this place.

Was okay. Front desk was asleep on couch when I came in, had to wake him up. Rooms were fine.

I booked the hotel with Expedia. I checked in got the key and went to my room. When I went in the room it smelled like smoke. I recall reserving a non smoking room. The beds looked like they were slept in. The bathroom had a strong bleach odor. I go to the window and see a dead stink bug. The furniture looked beat up. The mirror was lapsided. It looked like someone had used the room before I got there. I left the room and told the front desk that the sheets in the rooms were dirty and looked like it was slept on. The pillows looked like they were slept on too it wasn't changed either. I told the front desk I don't like the room can I get the refund he said no because I had already checked in. Another guy came and seriously was implying I laid down on the bed. I told him are you serious. No. I told him I would never lie down on the bed. First of all, I always inspect the room, bathroom, beds, window and furniture first. It's a pet peeve of mine. I told him I would never touch anything when I first walk into a room. After hearing that he said I would have to cancel thru expedia. I called expedia while I stood in front of the rep at the front desk and told expedia I was not happy with the room. It was dirty. They called the hotel while I was on the phone. The front desk gave them the info and expedia refunded my money. I would never go back there again nor would I ever recommend this hotel to anyone.

Decent place to stay if you’re not looking for anything special. Gets the job done. Sheets were clean. Everything in the bathroom worked. Heat was fine. Can’t go wrong. And it’s cheap lol.

I like the place. It is comfortable, but do not ask for extra towels. They will not give you any!

My one year old daughter almost two found a red pill on the floor (thankfully she handed it to me) we later found 3 more diffrent ones in the nightstand next to our bed and some candy wrappers) pizza slices behind the dresser like thing (only two drawers really small so not really a dresser) mold in the bathtub ended up having to clean it before my kids took a bath. The lousy repair on the tub also had mold forming in it (so we didn't fill the tub very high because I didn't want mold in their bath and they had to shower after each bath. Thankfully it wasn't too bad that my son's mold allergies started to act up. Every room that we have stayed at in this days inn the a. C. Has had mold forming in it. So be careful when trying to fan out your room (windows wont open either) good luck getting them to put coffee in your room daily let alone asking the front desk manager for extra coffee apparently he well only give you two packets. I drink at least on average three cups of coffee and my husband normally has one. Since I take care of two small kids all day, I depend on my coffee addiction and every hotel we have stayed at has been very nice about giving us two packets daily and even extra here and there. The breakfast most days is just fruit loops and bread sometimes they have rasin brand if you ask and apples (my kids eat apples like candy so that was a plus when they actually have them) don't count on apples often though.

No front desk at 10 pm. Room given was large but out dated. Dirty garbage in rubbish bin. Broken lamp. Bathroom offered jacuzzi tub but looked like only lightly cleaned (dirty leftover soap) Did not, would not, sit in that! Also bathroom door was locked when we got it. Took 20 min to find someone at front desk to fix it. He came to our hotel room, asked for a pen, and opened the locked door and said if it happens again just do that. It worked for a 1 day stay as layover but would not recommend it for anything more.

This is the worst hotel. The bed was like sleeping on nothing but metal springs. There was no back to our toilet, all of the water and pipes were exposed. There was blood all over the hallway wall, and their "Continental breakfast" consisted of four loaves of bread, two different juices, and a gallon of milk. I'm not even going to talk about the smell. Don't stay here.

Dirty and not maintained. Staff was incompetent upon checking in and he had to contact the manager; we had to wait 30 minutes to get our room which was previously reserved and paid. Breakfast was 2 cold cereals and toast, oh and juice but that's all. Rooms need work. Curtains were torn, unknown splatters on the walls, and a general lack of upkeep and cleaning. Mismatched pillows and a hard bed with stained sheets. If it wasn't for being tired and the room arranged by my company, I would have left. Take your money to a better place!

Bathroom was not clean 1towel in a king room, customer service terrible. Reserved a room king smoking 2weeks prior get there they give me a double them no rooms clean have to wait request for 3towels and it was a problem. Dirty linen sitting in front of all doors when I arrived at 3pm, very unsanitary look coming down a long hallway to see this, stepping over dirty sheets, rags used to clean rooms. I will never refer this hotel to anyone, I might do another Days Inn, and I came from out of town to celebrate with family that rented out the hall.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The place is dirty at best, the rooms smell, and the keys take about 25 attempts just to work. One of the beds in my room collapsed in the middle of the night and all they did was move me to a smelly room with no offer of compensation or any refund. This place is very unprofessional and honestly for a couple more dollars you can stay at a much better place. Safe yourself the headache and avoid this place at all costs!

We were two groups and took two different rooms. Either keys given to us didn't work. Staff was helpful but he said he can't help us until his manager comes in (it was 2AM by then). He had to use master key to check us in. Breakfast is so limited. No eggs. Just one toaster for many people. Only white bread and couple donuts.

Days Inn was a suitable hotel. Affordable and come with all the good accommodations, such as an outdoor pool and a fridge in each room.

I have only been here once for a baby shower. Nice place.

This place is the just horrible after my mother checked in one room that had vomit between the bed and night stand and mildew from the Ac growing on the the floor. They put here in another room at which time she got scabies and had to go to the ER the next day. After paying for the visit and 2 rounds of treatment because she was so freaked out mental she had to do extra treatment. After reaching out to the corporate office the same man from the hotel called her back yelling at her again. Like he did the night when she request to get a clean room or her money back. So save your money because nobody called back to even offer her what she paid for the room he told her she need to contact Priceline.

This place was awful, when we checked in the kid at the desk had a cold like a really bad cold. Now, as I write this I am sick with a nasty cold even though I washed my hands after getting my room key. The 1st room had black mold all over the bathroom and the second room had a musty smell to it. The beds are old and you can feel all the springs in them. The comforter had ciggerette burns all over them. If I could give them zero stars I would. Thanks for getting me sick Days Inn.

The rooms are really dirty then there is a lot of smoking cigarettes.

Horrible nasty rooms. Clean maybe twice a week. Every night have to go beg for towels. I'll never come back.

Absolute garbage, stains everywhere, nasty, greasy, smelly, rowdy crowd in the bar, staff unable to keep control. Front desk staff is half asleep, breakfast is terrible. Never again. Had to change rooms 3 times and would have left if I wasn't exhausted. Sleep on top of the covers with s sleeping bag is my advice.

Horrible horrible place. Very unhelpful staff and unclean rooms and hallways. Rooms smell of sweat and bacteria while the staff doesn't care at all. If the Wi-Fi doesn't work it isn't their fault. If you are out of towels, sorry you may have to come down and get some. The breakfast sucks. The waffle machine looks rusty and unclean, coffee is horrible. The night time front desk staff is so much more helpful than anybody during the day time.

Place was the dirtiest place I have ever been to. Non-smoking rooms reeked of Cigarette smoke. Front desk clerk said that they occasionally smoke in there! Toenail clipping in corner of room as well as dog food. Cigarette burns in bedding. The bar that was advertised has been closed for like a year as well as the outdoor pool. Stay as far away from this place as possible.

It's a Days Inn. We weren't expecting Marriott. The good: Staff were great, recent improvements to room were nice. No odors in room and room was clean. The bad: I laid my head on a decorative bed pillow to watch TV and was over coming with a strong body odor smell which was coming from gold pillow case. Note to housekeeping, please wash ALL pillowcases, not just sleep pillows.

No problems at all, nice clean place. Breakfast was okay Wi-Fi was okay, and the bar and grill attached was pretty good with reasonable prices and good food. Would definitely stay at again when I'm coming by this way.

This place sucks. You can do better. Staff not knowledgeable. Did not know were the men's room was from the lobby. Gave us two card keys, one did not work. Went back had them "fixed" one still did not work. Morning staff, when asked to speak to manager did not know if they were there and sent manager a text message (well someone a txt). None of the staff were able to look up our Days Inn membership information. Also when I was online looking the price on Priceline was posted for $59 for a king bed. The manager looked at the price on my phone and said no that was not correct. We got the room for $65 plus charges. It was not worth argument, we where tired from traveling. Weather was cloudy and humid low 80's. AC just not working. Lobby was very humid, hair was soaked by the time I had finished talking with staff in am. Room AC no better. Felt the floor damp in front of AC unit. Placed a towel down in front of unit. Had to keep temp low at 66 to just keep the humidity down. 68-70 the unit could not do it. This morning checked the towel and it was soaked! That is what I had wanted to speak to the manager about. They have a" Grill/Bar", attached to motel. Hours 5-10 pm weekdays. Well last night, Monday they were closed! Older gentlemen who was at the desk during the evening said the bartender had quit? He was there because a family with children, the kids were up screaming (at 12 mid). The desk staff if they had "fixed" his AC.

Clean, comfortable bed and I will stay there again. Albert at the front desk is a gem! I will stay hear again.

No bugs; friendly, helpful staff; nice, bright lobby; stain on comforter which aligned with stain on fleece-like blanket underneath, making me think neither had been washed. I'm familiar with hotels not washing the comforter, but was concerned the blanket hadn't been washed either. I noticed maids with piles of sheets and pillows between rooms, but no blankets, which seemed to confirm my suspicion. If you're content to remove top comforter and blanket from bed, you should be good to go. Weird stains on curtains and ironing board didn't really affect me, but management would do well to deal with this and improve overall feel. It's functional and a great price. I stayed for 5 nights. Smoky smell was evident but not a problem for me.
