My son and I have been visiting for 4 years now. It is in a great location to a few shore points. The service is good. We have never had a complaint about the service. It’s convenient and fits my budget.

Better than the economy motel, that place sucked, right after we got to the beach, I got the sand of my foot and went into the pool, I was happy that my little brother was able to fit the entire pool (up to 5 foot) the rooms looked better, no bed bugs were reported (not like the economy) the staff were nice, the AC was nice, this was a nice stay. Some bathrooms might’ve been dirty, but it was a good 2 days.

Good place to stay! Clean! Great front desk service. This place is not very fancy but it is great for the price! The office looks nothing like the picture.

It's okay for just a basic place to stay overnight near the beach. Clean and the service is good. Rooms and Decor kind of old and dated but well-maintained. Our room had kind of a strong odor of deodorizers and cleaning products.

Was a nice hotel and clean. Staff was friendly. Walls were super thin and could hear family next door constantly arguing with each other. The ac was really loud at times making it hard to sleep sometimes. Pool was nice and refreshing but sometimes got pretty crowded. No lifeguard on duty. Overall not bad for the price.

Clean the rugs in the rooms. My grandsons feet turned black from walking on the rug in his bare feet. Disgusting!

The rooms are TOO small, walls too thin … and the beds are the most uncomfortable ones ever … the price is affordable but I’d rather spend the extra money to be comfortable in where I am bringing my family …

Great location to get to Ocean City! Plenty of restaurants and amenities near by. Not the fanciest place (wasn't expecting it to be for the excellent price) but our room was very clean and had many new features. Pool was clean and nice. All of the staff was really nice as well. Would absolutely go back!

If I could give this place a 0, I truthfully would. I booked this place not knowing what to expect, but I did NOT expect it to be as bad as it was. I booked a room for the night at around 1PM, got there around 3PM same day. Upon arriving, I saw a dirty mattress being tossed out of a bedroom, and the cleaning guy pushing around a SHOPPING CART filled with supplies. This was a cart like one in the grocery store, it just looked so unprofessional. The entire facility appeared dirty, unclean, and really made me sick as I watched. From my car, I filed a "request to cancel" form online, and received a "sorry, you'll be charged the whole night. " I had voiced my concerns with the uncleanliness of the facility and told them what I saw, and they didn't even recognize ANY of it, they simply just stated that I would be charged, "sorry". Mind boggling to say the least! Don't be fooled by the pictures. This place is really gross. You get a sense of disgust from the moment you pull up. Please be careful and check it out before you book!

Horrible just horrible. Haven’t been here in more than an hour and I can’t breath. I booke a non smoking room and this room smells like an ashtray. Towels, bed sheets everything smells like smoke. Shower curtains has mold at the bottom and it smells so sour. This is horrible it was a last minute stay since I didn’t want to drive to New York late, next time I’ll drive and sleep in my car or just book an expensive hotel. Never again will I come here.

For a nightly rate of roughly $50 in the off-season can one really expect that much? This Econo Lodge (21 MacArthur Blvd, Somers Point, NJ) is a budget hotel with budget amenities. As others have mentioned, this motel is in the midst of renovations which from what I can tell involved new bathroom fixtures, a new vanity countertop and sink, vinyl plank flooring, and paint. The work was very slipshod, painting over wall brackets instead of removing them and even painting a door knob! In my room someone installed new trim and filled the nail holes but never painted it and the toilet wasn’t installed parallel to the wall. They did have a large storage container on site, presumably for construction materials, but toilets and sinks were stored on the ground, along with other construction debris between two buildings despite also having a large dumpster. The new stuff was in fine shape but the rest of the furniture was dated and worn. While there is a desk area, there’s no electric outlets near the desk, nor a desk light. Even the chair was worn with a thinly padded seat. Likewise the bedding was somewhat worn and stained. A mat inside the door to wipe feet would have been a nice to have too. The room did have a working refrigerator and microwave that were clean. The heating/AC unit appeared to be new and while I didn't test the A/C, the heat worked well. One day I came back to find towels sitting on the bed, they had taken the used ones but left the new ones on the bed.

The bed was uncomfortable. The walls had primer spots on them. The cable TV froze several times. The breakfast was bagels and toast. The pictures are very misleading. The nonsmoking room I was in was smoked in.

Great place for surfers in the off season. The rooms are actually surpisingly nice. There is no smell of smoke, only fresh and clean. They always give plenty of towls, have working Wi-Fi, good tv, and its just an overall appealing room. The staff is also very kind, ive asked for extra blankets from them several times and they always just tell me "ok no problem, ill bring them to your room! "

You can't go wrong with the process and the location is great. It's close to stores and restaurants and Ocean City is right over the bridge. Unfortunately that's the only good things about this place. Undergoing construction so lots of debris in the parking lot. Our room was basic but okay. However after coming back to the room on the second day we noticed that our sheets were replaced with stained ones, our dirty towels were left on the floor of the bathroom, and the light on the wall was hanging off. The continental breakfast consists of a case with about five muffins and five danishes. There's a juice machine and coffee and that's it. The staff was very nice and helpful though. For the price, it's okay. Not great, just okay. If you are looking for luxury, this ain't the place. If you need a quick cheap getaway for the night, it's perfect.

Very decent motel very come nice staff free breakfast convenient location in summers point I was very satisfied with my stay I'm from pennslilvaina will be moving to the area by March of this year stayed here from Monday till tonight just got home actually a brat time went to look at a new house this is reason for my stay again I was very satisfied would defiantly stay again.

My five star rating must be taken in the manner for which it is intended. There are five motels in Somers Point and three of them are really not satisfactory for any family. The Passport is fine but the Econo-Lodge is the best of the bunch. Isaac is the general manager and he's a really good guy. Always check Priceline for reduced rates. The Budget, Economy and Owl are all unacceptable and should be visited by the Somers Point health department.

The location is perfect just seconds away from the bridge to Ocean City. The staff is very good and accommodating. The rooms are clean but look like they were quickly but poorly remodeled. Old TV brackets where the TV use to be are still on the wall and painted over, the floors are vinyl peel and stick that are peeling or have large gaps. However the rooms are clean and comfortable.

We stayed at this Econo Lodge 8/10-8-11, 2017 and we had stayed here 3 years ago. What a difference since then because it has really gone down hill in a big way and I'm wondering if it went under new management. We stayed in room 143 and the room was absolutely atrocious. I took pictures of everything and sent them to Mr. Steve Kroon, the manager, asking for a full refund and giving him 3 business days to respond. Here is what I sent him: My husband, myself and teenage daughter booked two nights in room 143 last Thurs/Friday night, Aug. 10/11, 2017. We stayed at your hotel 3 years ago and made a return visit. Upon our return visit we were shocked at the accommodations because it was drastically changed. Needless to say, pictures are worth a 1, 000 words, so see for yourself. We had no way to deadbolt our door, the bathroom was growing dark colored mold on the back of the door, the water poured out of the shower head, the bed cover had a cigarette burn, the seat cushions were terribly stained, the lamp shades were very old and one was very rusted, there was a hole in the wall, rust on the hinges, trash all over the back of the property, including a rusted trailer. This is unacceptable and when we complained at checkout, we were told by the desk manager that he was only authorized by you to issue us a $20 credit. This too, is unacceptable. While we don't expect 4-5 star level of accommodation from Econo Lodge, we do expect CLEAN, and this was filthy.

Very run down. Our room number was taped to the side of the building and the room smelled horrible. It smelled like cigarette smoke. I actually had to buy candles on the boardwalk and spray perfume in the room to try to mask the smell. It did not work. The bathroom was run down and everything looked dated. Did not bother asking for a refund as they stated in the fine print that cancellations were required 2 days prior. I hands down would have stayed somewhere else ASAP if I hadn't already paid $200 for the night. Other tenants were loud and played loud music, I felt like I was in a frat. Not worth it. One of the worst vacation experiences of my life.

I tried to cancel a reservation through Expedia twice and when it was confirmed that my cancellation was complete, I was still charged for the room. The customer service was poor when I called the hotel personally. This was the first and last time I will deal with Econo Lodge.

HORRIBLE! Hotel was being renovated (not indicated on hotel website to inform or warn guests)! A TON of trash and debris outside of hotel with huge dumpster in the parking lot! Screen was torn and locks did not lock on the room window! Room had an odor… I had to use my perfume to spray the room! 2 spiders in the room… big one on the ceiling over bed and smaller one in the tub! Tub floor was warped and wobbly so very unsteady and unsafe to stand on during shower! Furniture needed serious upgrading! Wi-Fi did not work! Breakfast was a JOKE! I have never had such a terrible experience at a hotel! Didn't bother complaining to front desk because I had already paid for my stay and I didn't feel any other room would be any different! It was also too late to find accommodation elsewhere and I didn't want to ruin mine and my young daughters' vacation by fighting with hotel staff or focusing on the deplorable conditions… so we just stuck it out! Definitely did not get the value for my money! NOT worth $120/night! I "should" get some type of reparations from this hotel for the horrible stay but I doubt that will happen and I'm too tired to fight for it! A response from Econo Lodge Somers Point addressing my concerns and dissatisfaction would be greatly appreciated however!

Nice and clean. There was a crack in the wall of my room. Did not affect my stay. Nice customer service, close to ocean city boardwalk.

This is the worst motel ever! I booked it for a 3 day vaca for my family. When arriving I noticed they are under so construction so there is very limited parking. We arrived back one evening and had no where to park. The bathrooms are dirty and falling apart. Also the pool is not maintained well since its full of bugs. The continental breakfast is joke. Horrible experience! This place should be shut down.

Currently under renovations. Hopefully that will improve the rooms. Our feet were filthy after walking on the floor only a few minutes. Cigarette burns in the duvet. A bad odor in the room. Very small continental breakfast. Been coming for years, this is the worst yet.

For $39 a night the room was adaquet. Cable TV, mini fridge, room seemed to be clean however the odor in the front office was so strong… how can anyone eat a continental breakfast with that smell.

During the del rancho we had awhile back. We had gotten double charged with no electic. Which I'm now finding out was illegal. How dare you take advantage of me and my family during a storm. What a disgrace.

I loved the hotel. It's was very nice for a great reasonable price. I stay there the past weekend and I didn't see nothing to complain about. Only thing I noticed but not complaining about is it's updated but not fully as the tile in bathroom and sink area with closet is nicely updated but the carpet in the main area had a dated look along with the comforters. Other than that five minute from boardwalk and ocean city. Close to lots of perks! The pool area is nice and clean. Could definitely come and stay there again!

The location is great. The price is also great. The room is clean and fresh. The staff are extremely friendly.

This was one of the dirtiest hotels that I've ever been to. There was no curtain or blind in the bathroom. The tub was dirty. The vanity around the sink was covered in some sort of rust or burn marks. The bolt was broken off the door. Dead bugs were stuck all overy the walls. Never again!

I stayed here for one night with my family of 4 and the bathroom was loaded up with flys. There was mold on the ceiling in bathroom and the blankets had holes in it… absolutely GROSS! I do not recommend this place at all!

Gross, omgosh gross. I stayed for one night with my family of 4 in the Econo Lodge at Somers Point. The bathroom toilet seat had its finish on the seat peeling up on 50 percent of the seat. Someone did a drywall repair on the ceiling and was never painted, so you can see the tape and spackle all over the ceiling. Mold was everywhere in the bathroom, especially around toilet at baseboard and shower area. Paint was needed everywhere on window sill, walls, you name it. Sheets and comforter had cigarette burns. Ironing board was bent and when used collapsed completely fell apart. There is a back area adjacent to our room that looked like a dumping ground for old carpets, refrigerators, broken pieces of tile from repairs and anything you can name. This place should be condemned. To top it off, we left on 2nd day and got half our money back due to bed bugs that were found upon coming back from beach on 2nd day there. Yes that's right BED BUGS. Also good luck with the manager at front desk where there was no air conditioning in 100 degree heat. Also good luck trying to call corporate. I was on hold waiting for a human for over 30 minutes. We are not a prissy family, but our room isn't fit for college kids on spring break. Also spoke with several other people staying there and they spoke of the rooms they were in and it sounded worse than ours. If that is even possible. So pass that place by. You would be better off in the woods.

Pulled in late at night for an unplanned stay. Room was okay for the price. Smelled and appeared clean. Included a fridge which was nice.

Cheap and short drive from ac I week no reason in spending more money at hotel. Our room was big enough and clean.

OK place to stay on the cheap. Extra blanket provided was nasty looking and had multiple burn holes. Should have been thrown away.

Four walls, a bed, and a TV. Gets the job done, but not much to write home about.

Not a bad hotel for the price. Cross the bridge, and you're in Ocean City. The Wi-Fi went in and out on my phone sometimes, but it worked pretty well. The pool is also very nice; I just wish it were heated! The continental breakfast is included; there's light pastries, donuts, orange juice, coffee — a pretty good selection. Just get there early, lol. This has been a family tradition for the past few years for my family and I, and we can't wait to go back soon.

Love it miss it when I'm not there. Thr owner & staff are friendly and accomodating. The rooms are clean within an inch of it's life. It's only a 5 minute drive to Ocean City beach and boardwalk also walking distance to great resterants in Somers Point like The Windjammer & The Crab Trap. At night if you just want to sit in the TV has most of the best broadcast & Cable channels along with all 6 HBO channels to enjoy. Also you start off the morning with a delicious continental breakfast. This is the place to enjoy a great relaxing lodging experience. Also the price is reasonably low for all this place has to offer. Can't wait to make it there again!

They where so nice and helpful and very clean good place to stay.

We wanted a place close enough to the Ocean City beaches for one night. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The walls were very thin but being tired from the beach and having the A/C running it blocked out the sound enough that we slept well. This place is fairly close to the restaurants along Bay, almost close enough to walk, and walking distance from the diner at the circle. Also our Garmin Nuvi GPS placed the Econolodge at 63 MacArthur, not 21.
