Despite the review I had a great stay, room was clean and staff was friendly.

Please, please please do not stay at this dump of a motel. It is not close to the beach if you’re walking. It’s a 10-15 ride to the beach. This place feels like something from a 3rd world country. It’s not up to date. And the beds are terrible. The housekeeper uses two of the same sheets one for tucking under the mattress and one to go on top. Please stay away from this dump of a place. The floors are cracked and the walls are dirty. For the money spent this place should’ve been 25 dollars a night and the Wi-Fi is horrible. There should be a sign outside that says welcome to Crystal Lake because the entire time I felt like I walked into a horror movie.

It's truly difficult, in this day and age, to find a hotel / motel that is actually committed to Customer Service. At most of the places I have stayed, they don't even say, "Hello"; they just scream "Credit card and ID! ". I arrived at the Sunset Inn very early due to changes in my work schedule. I asked how much more it would be to check in early. I was expecting to be told (unpleasantly) I would have to pay for a full night. The Lady at the front counter was NICE! She actually listened. She told me there would be no charge, but I would have to give her a few minutes to get my room ready… then she went and CLEANED IT HERSELF! I have not seen this level of service in forever. I can guarantee this: if I have any problems, they will be taken care of by someone who cares. Kudos!

Staff was rude and unaccompaning. Room was a mess, no cleaning service. It was a fight to get clean towels, no toilet paper. I would not spend a penny more here.

Good place to stay, near to the boardwalk, reasonable price, people work are so kind they give me until 3 PM to check out.

Why is this place even functional, if I was homeless, then it would be deserving of one star. Booked room for way more than it should be. Bathroom felt like a port — a — potty in Siberia. My car was warmer. Heating came from an old AC wall unit which we had to leave and come back so it could be moderately warm. But don't leave the bathroom door open. Night stands were old and had no back covering. Three unused lamps, I'm guessing they were kept there as storage space with no bulbs. Stained sheets. Underneath the bed looked like a storage for trash. The TV worked fortunately, Wi-Fi available but nothing we had connected to it with the password. Toothpaste on the wall and bathroom ceiling shower rod was rigged in place by pizza menus. The room door had air blasting through it as well as the bathroom. Went to complain but the 24 hour front cubicle left by midnight and closed down. I guess I could of called if there was a phone in the room to call. Microwave was micro size and could of used a flame thrower. Made the reservations and upon arriving at the location, we were surprised it was closed down. Fortunately a second location was about 300 yards away which honored the reservation. If you have no place to go or, you're just desperate then pack a biohazard suit and pray. I'll upload as many pics as possible. Oooh, I forgot about the toilet…

If I could put 0 stars I would. Absolutely horrendous! Price was nice, however after checking in and paying, we were denied an extra blanket. No heat in our room. Our "heater" was blowing out cold air. Told the manager about our issues and he continued to tell me that the heater worked fine. It is 65° in our room. We drove over 3 hours to get here and couldn't be accommodated. We will never stay here again!

Cable went in and out all night. Staff slow to respond. People knocking on my door late at night. Wouldn't recommend.

-50000000 stars if I could! My fiancé and I were sick and disgusted by the living conditions we were forced to endure during our stay Sunset "Inn". We arrived at 12:30am in a snowstorm and could not get a hold of the manager for almost 10 minutes. We stood in a 30 mile wind chill in the middle of nowhere attempting to find another place, assuming the inn was abandoned or closed, until he finally came out. He was incredibly nasty and rude to my fiance and I while checking us in for no apparent reason other than the fact that we woke him up (welcome to owning a hotel, people arrive at all hours of the day). This however, was nothing close to the experience we had once we were in the room. We entered the room during a 30 degree wind storm. There was no heat. On top of this, there was a half inch gap in the front door from top to bottom. We had winds up to 30 miles an hour blowing into our room. We assumed once we got under the covers we would be okay (we genuinely are a very low maintenance couple), however the blanket consisted of a sheet and an extremely thin "blanket". We froze. I couldn't shower in the morning because I was so cold that I was afraid of the pain I would experience when exiting the shower. The conditions we lived in for that evening should be illegal. We easily could have gotten sick. I was quite literally unable to shower because of the cold. We did not sleep at all. We had to book a new hotel last minute because we couldn't bare another night.

HORRIBLE! Day One walking in the room and a smack of old ciggerate smell smacked me in the face thank god I provided candles air fresheners and all after reading reviews prior I still gave a chance being it was the only one available now I understand why! Cleaned up the best I could rug was disgusting which needs to be removed! Blankets were disgusting thank god I brought my own as well as pillows. Only thing good was the heat from the ac and the hot water in shower. Day 2 waking up finding BED BUGS! Furious I threw out all of my bedding and pillows and after 3 days later and my body is still attacked! I wouldnt want anyone to stay here its disgusting I'm sure they have so much potential if they cleaned the sh&$t out that place start from scratch add some vents for people who do smoke some cleaning major cleaning remove those dirty rugs and beds! scrub from up and down! Next time I will for damn sure pay more to stay somewhere else! GET TO renovating!

Just ok! you can go a little further get more for the price or you can spend less and still get more… stains on the mattress covers no shower curtains broke microwave no light in the bathroom just ok to lay your head beds are decent comfort wish… its more like and inn and out motel.

If I could give 0 I would. It was the only place available on such short notice and I know why- Upon entering the room, it smelled musty and reeked of stale cigarettes — There was a scratching sound in the walls, there was no blanket on the bed (thank god I brought my own), infact, there was a nasty yellow/brown stain on the side of the mattress! the water in the shower/sink was only hot for about 30-45 seconds and then it went ice cold, and the grand finale: in the middle of February, there wasn’t any heat! Thank god there was an air conditioner though, I really needed it in the 40 degree weather. Never stay here. Your car would be more welcoming.

Not recommended. Small. Dirty… over priced. Only here if u r cheap n don't care.

Beds were neat, I did get my deposit back the next morning and it was cheap in price. But you do get what you pay for. The cable was great and it was clean but we were the only people there the entire night. And the room was freezing it took until the middle of the night for the heat to actually get the cold out. But the door had a big crack anyway where there was cold air coming through.

I was told my deposit will be in my account by two weeks and it has been two month now… dont trust the front desk guy. Dirty hotel.

When we opened the door there were fowl smells… the beds were really hard… the best part would have to be walking into the bathroom seeing a roch in the bathtub! … and what looked like fun stains on the floor… — _ — I defenantly DO NOT RECOMEND STAYIN HERE! We paid for 2 nights and it was not even worth what we paid for!

Place is shocking key cards don't even work and no one at reception at night to fix it happen 3 times in 4 days. Had to spend more money elsewhere. Wifi barely works keeps cutting out no cleaners staff at reception are rude.

Smell cigarrilo when entering the rooms, the beds felt that was itching something, where is located an area alone, I'm not coming back to that place.

We had a good time at the hotel it was only for one night room was big checking was easy they did not bother us we had five people and they didn't give us no problem for the extra person we had a great time I would go back 5 minutes from the boardwalk 5 minutes from Harrah's and the Borgata you walk out your door your room you can see the Borgata easy to get to.

I did reservation. I reach there and I told him I did reservation then guy said your reservation got cancelled but if you want room then I can give you for 200$. He is robbing to everyone. 2 customer got problem same time when I was there.

Sunset Inn is a cheaper alternative to the over priced rooms at places like the Sheraton, Borgata, and other hotels and motels in the Atlantic City area. However, since it is cheaper the room is definitely very basic. We only had access to an old standard TV, a refrigerator (which barely worked and had an odd odor), a microwave, a bathroom (which did not have a toliet paper holder) and a bed with a couple of nightstands. There was also an older window AC unit, but it wasn't used during our stay. Overall the room was fairly clean and staff that we did come across was friendly. Also, we were only about a 10 minute ride from the convention center which was nice. Sunset Inn isn't a bad option to choose from of you're spending a night or two in Atlantic City, NJ, but keepin mind you get what you pay for.

This place was very very terrible lots of bed bugs plz plz dnt go I wish I can post pics of the bites also they banged on the door very rudely to wake u up and when you go to check out they not there took a hour for someone to come to the door also the staff are really dirty look like hills have eyes kinda looking really scary like they don't shower also and we where charged twice when went to check out no body was there we called n was told to leave the card in mail box and was change twice.

Fuimos en New Jersey de vacaciones con mi esposa. Hubo un problema con la tele en el cuarto. Desde la tele no estaba funcionar cuando quedamos alla no podia ver HBO o nada mas.

Rude staff, no towels/washcloths, minimum toiletries (sandpaper soap), no phone in room. Broken handle on closet door. Tried calling for service multiple times, no response. Brought my ESA with me and was kicked out of room early the next morning, without being given the opportunity to produce my paperwork. I was planning to stay another night, but no way. Drawn out of my room, by rude clerk, to front desk, and not being given the opportunity to change from my nightgown. When asked if I could change clothes, I was threatened with being arrested! No pets allowed, sure, but I have a registered support animal, who was well behaved, and cared for, and left no mess. We caused no disturbances. A family a few doors down had 3 DOGS! You could hear them from the time we checked into the motel, and they were WALKED in the lot! I didn’t see/hear him extending the same treatment to that patron. And then he had the nerve to remark "cats are smelly… " as though that was justification. Never, EVER have I been treated so inhumane at any establishment. I wouldn't recommend this motel to my worst enemy! Horrible. Experience.

Cute little place, with great service and fair price :) Good location too I'll recommend it to anyone :)

The inn was cheap but very clean and close proximity to the casinos. The beds were nice and sheets were very clean. We also had a microwave, fridge and lots of cable channels to chose from in our room. I did not have to pay for parking but I was a bit hesitant at first because I like staying at four or five star hotels. Yes I would actually stay there again especially if you are just staying 2 to 3 days in Atlantic City.

It was ok the first 2 times we stayed there but the last time we stayed. I found a random bug crawling but I just ignored it. We had the lights off so I killed the bug and went to sleep. We all woke up that morning to roaches crawling EVERYWHERE. I freaked out and ran out of the room. NEVER AGAIN will I stay there. We had our daughter with us. My boyfriend told the guy there was bedbugs and he just laughed and ignored it.

Creepy and rotten hotel rooms. Big sheet of plastic under the bed sheet. Dirty floor in the 'bathroom'. Not even towels provided. Toilet stopped working after first time using. Host or manager woke me up rudely half an hour before checkout time. "You have to be outside at 11! " Wifi didn't work… If you can avoid, do not stay here!
