Mountain Lodge at Okemo

My family and I have been extremely loyal to this beautiful mountain. Although, we have been extremely let down and beyond disappointed since the purchase of the mountain from Vail. Lines have been horrendous, yet they say there are limits to ticket and pass purchases, none of which I see. Jackson Gore Quantum Six was awful today… Not a single line operator whilst the line was growing irretrievably long and people were getting on the lift in groups of two and three. There are several things to severely criticize, and I am very disappointed with the Okemo community.

Was just there and absolutely amazing as always. Our favorite place to go in Vermont skiing! Can’t wait to come again next year!

Very disappointing that it’s only December 20 and lessons are sold out, have people visiting who would love to take lessons and there is nothing available unbelievable experience! in 20 years of being at Okemo we have never not been able to reserve lessons for our guests!

Frustrated beyond belief as I have been working on this for 9 days, without success! Okemo cancelled lift ticket without proper notice. Website will not take credit card. My credit card company states their (Okemo) site keeps cancelling purchase! Had someone try with their card. Got confirmation with balance due $116.60. Called to ask why a balance due? Representative said it should say zero. Then was assured the ticket would be there for when our son arrived. Our son said when he got there the ticket was cancelled! Our son is up there for only one day as he is on break and we signed the release for him to be there and now he cannot ski for the day! Could not get to the IT department to discuss the issue. Was told it would be turned over to the supervisor, etc. I am writing this while on hold; only for the representative to say they are reaching out to a supervisor. Then I was on hold again. Then the phone tree stated at 4:50 PM EST, the business hours are finished at 5 PM and I could leave a message! The incompetence is overwhelming! I never write these kinds of reviews. However, I felt it is warranted since our son only ski's for one day once a year due to his arduous school schedule. I pray this is not system wide as I don't know how any business could survive such ineptitude!

We have been going here for years we have a vacation house near by. Okemo always had something for everyone. This year was very disappointing. My nephews as well as myself like the jumps and rails at the park, they have next to nothing set up. Left us with kids getting very bored very fast. We recently did 4 days there and 2 at Killington. I highly suggest Killington over okemo if you want a good family resort with someone for everything. Its only 30 min away.

Their customer service is one of the worst I’ve experienced, especially considering they are a Vail operated company. They have sent us to a different person each time we tried to resolve a lesson issue, only to be informed they can’t resolve the issue over the phone and that everything must be booked on their website, which is sub par, again considering their Vail pricing, and couldn’t complete the requested transactions and suggested we call the customer service number, only to reach an off location call center that cannot resolve the issue. They also state that they have a military rate, but when attempting to contact them via the number given for military tickets, their system just hangs up on you after being on hold foe up to 30 minutes. I miss the days of Okemo when it was a family friendly business that we had enjoyed skiing with for the last 30+ years. I will not be booking another ski trip to this mountain again. You’re better off going to Killington or Pico and that is where our family will switch to after such a horrible experience this season.

We loved the mountain lodge at Okemo. The room was clean when we arrived and well appointed. Views of the slopes are very nice. The wood burning fireplace was the selling point for us. Only issue with the fireplace was that wood to burn was scarce, we had to search some out, but it was nearing the end of the season. Would I come back to this lodge? Absolutely. Others state that the place is dated and it is, but if these units are privately owned, then it would be up to the owner to update some things. I would recommend this place to anyone. We cooked ourselves breakfast every morning and ate watching the skiers and snowboarders coming down the slopes. It is a relaxing atmosphere and extremely convenient. The Loft Tavern is the place to go near the clock tower base since it is the only place open in this section later in the evening. My only suggestion for the clock tower base area would be to keep the restaurant/bar open later so people can enjoy this section of the mountain in the evening. With that said, we usually headed over to Jackson Gore for evening outings (If not out at one of the town's restaurants). Jackson Gore has a nice sitting area in the main lodge with a wood burning fireplace and a bar for the guests to enjoy. The bar was nicely appointed and the service was great. Overall I have no real complaints about this place. Everything is always what you make of it. If you want 5 star accommodations, don't come here because you will be disappointed.

Stayed at the main condos as t the base lodge. Clean and comfortable. Great access to the mountains.
