Great family vacation! So much to do in a beautiful setting.

OMG, exactly the right amount of luxury and casual shabby sheek! Really loved this place. Was up here for a wedding. Stayed in Hampstead House. Awesome breakfast buffet and fresh outsourced sushi bar. The views are stupid gorgeous. Absolutely recommend it. Downside, some parts are indeed tired and NEED work.

Basin Harbor is like coming home! Warm, welcoming, beautiful, family friendly, lots of history, great staff, and wonderful family owners who genuinely care about the customer and staff.

Lake Champlain location is spectacular! Sunset is awesome. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly — making time spent here so relaxing and enjoyable — we’ll be back again!

We felt like family here. The thoughtful extras and the “personal touch” that comes from each staff member you interact with simply adds to a fantastic vacation atmosphere. A seemingly step back in time with all the modern amenities you expect from a luxury resort. We will return!

So many activities for the whole family. Beautifully landscaped with clean accommodations. Courteous staff and delicious food. Mainly bug free — — a huge plus for outdoor festivities.

My mom works here for over 20 years and I have been going there
since with my family. BHC is a great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff, they are all so hospitable. BHC is one of the nicest places to stay. We call it our HOME away from home.

Everything. Great food. Great service. Exceptional hospitality. Beautiful views. Activities abound. Had a great Girl Scout Reunion here for 5 wonderful days.

Red mill had a sign on the door “ closed at 2”, no mention of early closing on web site. Had dinner in main dining room. Food was good, service was terrible. Room was empty yet it took almost 3 hours, 45 minutes to get check.

Incredible resort in Vermont by Lake Champlain. Most impressive was speaking to families who come Year after year, generations creating memories each year. I can only hope to return!

Super great place. Bring the kids, the boat, and the golf clubs. Stay a weekend or a week. The staff is awesome and the amenities are amazing. Pool is warm. The Red Mill is a great place to catch up with friends. There is a grass runway if you prefer to fly. Come check it out even it's only a day. You won't regret it.

The service was wonderful and the staff was very helpful and kind. As for the dinner itself the chicken tenders were very good but I only got 4 and a nugget of a tender. The marinara sauce was delicious but the mozzarella sticks weren't cooked all the way through. Over all friendly atmosphere and good dinner.

The Red Mill bar and grill provided a wonderful experience, tucked away on it's own air field, with easy access to the rest of the resort but away from the hustle and bustle of the mid day crowd. The staff is attentive and the food well timed and delicious. I will definitely be back.

Went to dinner in Ardelia's with my extended family. I had the parsnip and coconut soup, followed by the scallops. Portions we're perfect. Everything was cooked to perfection. The soup had a very interesting flavor profile. Would recommend.

A wonderful place to get away! Accommodations are superlative, food and drinks are great, things to do plentiful. Basin Harbor is our new favorite place. We will be back!

The accommodation itself was beautiful, but the management had not appropriately prepared the unit for someone to stay in it.

Very beautiful location and facilities. It would have been nice for maintenance to confirm the state of the house when it was opened for the year though, we had to call maintenance out several times for a short stay.

I’ve been going to BHC since I was 2 years old and I’m turning 12 this year. I have always loved being there. I always enjoy seeing my friends from throughout the country and my family that I see very rarely. I would highly suggest going to BHC for a family gathering or just a regular vacation.

Last week my friends and I visited Ardelia's, the resort's main dining room. The fall menu this year is spectacular: I had an almond-encrusted pork loin with autumn vegetables. I found the portions perfect — I only wish I'd saved room for dessert!

I worked here in College in the restaurant. It was a great place to work and I learned how top rated restaurants are supposed to function. I now compare all restaurants to the Basin Harbor Club.

We picked Basin Harbor after an internet search for dog friendly accomodations in Vermont not knowing if the experience would live up to the posted pictures and reviews. Not only were we very satisfied with everything, our ten year old Huskie rescue was too! The cabin we were assigned was great and obviously newly refreshed. The grounds were immaculate. Food was excellent. Staff was amazing! Our pup toured the entire grounds at least four times a day meeting many new dog and children friends! Basin Harbor we discovered has a huge following of return visitors of all ages. Making it a definite family destination and place for family reunions. Our thanks to the staff, other guests and Nico's new doggie and kid friends for making our stay very relaxing!

We have been coming here for 23 years now. It is the best place for a family vacation I have ever been to. There is so much to do including golf, tennis, sailing, waterskiing and more. The staff is amazing and the cottages are very nice.

We booked a Tee time for my friends Bachelor Party. We checked in and received our carts and headed to truck to load up. We were in line at the first tee. And we're confronted about us bringing our own beverages. Which was fine. All courses are different. We went and put back to our stuff back. Headed back to the tee. We still were waiting for the our turn. And then confronted again. Saying now we have to split our party up into 2 groups. That no golf course allows a group of 6. I have played at other clubs with no problems. This was all talked about on the phone when we booked the Tee time and they said it was fine. So we called Cedar Knoll Country Club. They were more than happy to accommodate us and had no problem. We asked for a refund and went to the Cedar Knoll were we enjoyed the rest of the day. In my opinion since we were not the upper class type people who played here we were watched like children and treated like it. They talked to us as we were not welcomed there. I do not recommend this place. But if you drive a expensive car and have deep pockets. You will be treated just fine.

Great golf course. Played yesterday in a scramble tournament and had a blast. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Gorgeous property and amenities. If it wasn't such a long drive from Burlington, I'd play here frequently.

We had a work outing for the 3rd year here and had access to golfing, a scenic cruise, our door games, and a fantastic meal. Was a great day relaxing by the lake.

Highly recommend a stay at Basin Harbor. We had a wonderful sleep and a restful stay in our cottage. Cottage was beautifully appointed, clean, & quiet! (Even on the Saturday night of Memorial Day wknd) I am traveling with my 2 college-age kids. They were as surprised as I by our comfy cottage We arrived here by chance and are off to the Burlington Marathon today, & then off to Stowe for the week, but will def stay here during our next trip to the Lake Champlain Region. So glad we found Basin Harbor.

Had a very relaxing and stress free stay at BHC this past weekend. The food and accommodations were wonderful. The staff accommodated my food allergies and quickly responded to a request to sweep the pollen off the deck furniture (it's that time of year in VT! ) we stayed in the Summit house room 4. Very highly recommended. Gorgeous place, feels brand new and had amazing views! The recreation area has all new docks and they are almost done building a pretty gazebo bar on the waterfront!

We had dinner at the red mill. Food was somewhat inconsistent. Service was slow but everyone was very nice. The grounds are beautiful!

Best place in the world! I have been coming here for 12 years and it gets better and better! People say it's too old but they don't get the point of this resort. This gets you away from today's thechnology and brings you into an amazing environment. You can Golf, swim in the pool, swim in the lake, rent a boat, sail, canoe, kayak, go on a mini cruise, hike, bike around, relax in the outdoors, play shuffle board, disc golf, and much much more! Not to forget the kids club from baby to 16. All people are in separate mini cottages that just bring a great vibe. And they already started renovating them to look knew in fashion so they will never get old. The lake view is priceless. The employees are nice. The weather is gorgeous. Even if you want to do something else town is only a few minutes away, and that's good for Vermont. If you choose to bring you or your family here, you have made one of the best choices in your life.

Great grounds. Harbour is pretty and has swim floats and lots of boat types to rent. Adirondack chairs everywhere.

Amazing Lake Champlain views… Delicious gourmet food at every meal… Beautiful golf course with top notch greens… Who could ask for more!? I highly recommend Basin Harbor for any East Coast vacation plans!

Only the best will do and BHC delivers with history, natural life and sports galore that will keep you and your family and guests tired out for hours. And did I mention the food. Every meal is a total surprise (a good one). There is something for everyone and no one will be disappointed. It's worth multiple stays in all three seasons that they are open. Bill.

Liked this place way more than we thought we would, in a Dirty Dancing kind of way. Just know : no TV!

Nowhere to eat that doesn't require reservations. Lake view cabin is good enough; needs updates, but this place is still pretty pretentious (no denim — anywhere) in spite of it. Called for ice and waited two hours; never came. Don't bother trying to eat at the Red Mill — it's constantly full and there's no room. There are no restaurants with good reviews within 30 miles of this place, nor are there grocery stores.

Flew in with my wife for our aniversery and stayed overnight in a lake view cottage. The cottage was nice, clean, and well kept. The views were outstanding overlooking the lake. The staff/service was excellent during our stay. Definitely a great family retreat. If you intend to land on their airstrip its best to call first for a condition report. I've heard after heavy rains the strip can get very soft.

If I could pick one place to vacation with family, this would be the spot.

As a photographer and videographer, this is one of my absolute favorite wedding venues to shoot at! They are situated in the most gorgeous setting right on Lake Champlain and offer a huge variety of location options for the ceremony and cocktail hour — everything from stunning gardens to even having the ceremony on their paddleboat. Anne and the entire Basin Harbor team are incredible to work with! Whenever a couple is in search of a venue in Vermont, I always recommend they look here.

Good family fun. Something for everyone. We loved our two stays and plan to return often.
