The Jane Austen character weekend has made some of the best memories in my life. I definitely recommend. I trek all the way from Las Vegas, Nevada for this event each year.

Beautiful place to get married. Could not ask for a better day. Can’t wait to come back!

A wonderful place to “go back in time” to Jane Austen’s England and experience a simpler time where people danced and really talked and experienced all that life has to offer. We had a fabulous Jane Austen “in character” weekend as well as all the lovely ambiance of a truly wonderful B& B.

My Huband and I stayed 3 years ago. It is so Beautiful! The inn owner. She was lovely. The food was superb! We stayed in the room with the canopy bed in the front that was beautiful!

Charming, well maintained property Suzanne, the owner, was very pleasant and engaging. When in the Stowe area, I would not consider staying any place else.

Suzanne is the perfect host for this B&B. Her Jane Austen events are incredible.

Large and spacious but still warm atmosphere. Convenient to 58 mile River Trail but no other walking distance attractions or dining.

These were the best scones I have ever eaten. What a fun date for cream tea.

My 5 year old daughter, my mother and myself visited the Governor's House yesterday. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea! The grounds were beautiful. My daughter enjoyed trying to catch butterflies and pose for pictures in the lavender and wildflower garden out front. The Inn is absolutely charming! Afternoon tea was so special as the Inn keeper, Suzanne took her time to explain proper tea etiquette and show my daughter how to properly enjoy her tea and scones!
The tea sandwiches, scones, sweets and hot tea were beautifully presented and enjoyed by all!
This was a day full of memories and we will definitely recommended this location others. Thank you again to Suzanne, the Inn keeper who was so very accommodating and a joy to meet.

My Husband and I got married there last summer 2016. It was beautiful! Suzanne did such a great job as a hostess and wedding coordinator. Everything was absolutely perfect and all we had to do was show up. Our room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. On top of everything else Suzanne is a wonderful cook and made a delicious breakfast every morning. I highly recommend the Governor's House, we will definitely be going back soon.

Expensive because the house is big but accommodations are just above average. Breakfast was good. Inn keeper was cranky.

My husband and I had gotten married there. It was absolutely beautiful! Suzanne was the perfect hostess and wedding coordinator. We just had to show up. From the flowers to the dinner. This is probably one of the most strange things I have done, writing a review before I even get a chance to go to The Governor's House. I was walking along the canal to Bath (UK) and I met this lovely lady who was asking for direction. She was well-spoken and very easy-going. Even though I was not being so useful as giving direction, I enjoyed our little conversation and found out she has a "B&B" in Vermont, wow! I can well imagine some characters in her B&B, it must be an ama…zing and refreshing place with an owner like Suzanne! It was very nice to meet you this afternoon, hope all goes greatly and we will meet someday in the future.

During our trip in Vermont we stayed one night in this guesthouse run by Suzanne to Hyde Park.
The gouvernor's house is a magnificent House of another time. It's a beautiful building yellow very old but very very clean and beautifully maintained by Suzanne, a small very nice woman. She does everything herself.
We were the only guests that night in this great House. The morning after a great night in our beautiful room, Suzanne is there to serve us breakfast, very hearty and homemade products. It's amazing, how a tiny woman can hold only a big house? She does all the housework, laundry, paint, finally everything wonderfully well. She shows us even the best way to reach our next destination! This is a great step that this House of the Governor. Do not hesitate one second to there stay. Thank you Suzanne for this delicious moment.

After a two day, three night stay here I recommend with confidence. Clean, comfortable, Victorian charm right out of the Jane Austen era, good food, gracious host, scenic mountain views, plus a large selection of books, puzzles and movies. The innkeeper's personal touch is everywhere in this house: Fresh flowers, dishes of candy and a decanter in your room for your nightcap. A great place to let the world go by and just enjoy yourself. Loved it.

Please don't be fooled into thinking this is a nice place to stay. @ 245.00 I had to shower down the hall. I made the in keeper aware of mold all over the shower curtain, pubic hair in my bath tub, she cleaned it. If you want her attention you need to go down stairs and pick up a phone and try and locate her. The in keeper was a strange lady. You would be talking and the next thing you know she is behind you shutting a door or something. My wedding was planned weeks in advance, there was no good reason for the condition of shower and bathtub. Now that the mood was gone I wanted to leave. I was told I had to pay the full price. after a long conversation, she took off 65.00 I went the same day and had to plan at another lodge. Not a nice thing to do the day your getting married. The picture you see in the add is not what you wiill see. Stay away from this place.
