Reviews of Graduate Providence 4*
Beautiful hotel! They threw one heck of a wedding 😃
Had a wonderful stay…a nice getaway. Rooms were large, clean and fun decor and design.
Gorgeous Hotel, clean and comfortable. Could not asked for more. ❤️
I’ve loved this hotel for years! Wasn’t sure when it became The Graduate but it still has the old time charm with some new retro decor & still has wonderful helpful staff. The hotel bar is fun and has Top Golf indoor suites! Great choice w/ easy Uber to PPAC, Vets, & Federal Hill.
Great downtown location! Only negative is the heat can’t turn it off. I had to open the window. The hotel is 100 years old. All good.
Excellent stay! Alize is one of the most helpful, kindest, and thoughtful persons I have ever met in the hospitality world. She was very genuine and made our experience at Providence Graduate 1000x better. I love the architecture of the hotel and the layout of the rooms. I wish there was a little more bathroom counter space, but everything is so good and I would definitely stay here again and again.
Great ambiance and decor. Nice spacious suite.
Great Location, Beautiful clean suites. Very eclectic vibe of interior decoration amidst historic building. Very friendly staff. Definitely will be back. Only miss currently is a bar or on site restaurant. Maybe by the time of next visit…
Great staff. Awesome location.
The beds are so comfortable, and the room was really clean. The staff was polite, and helpful. Great place to stay! Will absolutely visit again. Bonus is its really close to the mall!
Super cool place right in the heart of Providence. Friendly staff and great atmosphere!
Check in staff was friendly, helpful and efficient.
room was clean tidy and decorations fit well together.
im sure there are those that wont survive without coffee or tea or snacks in the room.
Unexpected pleasure! Old school decor and great location!
I love it here, the staff is superb… everyone is friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and clean, it is centrally located. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel decor is stunning and the beds are very comfortable. What will bring me back is they made up for a problem I had with my stay and exceeded my expectations in doing so.
We loved the atmosphere of this hotel! The staff was really great, as well as the coffee shop inside! everything was more than expected!
Beautiful place. Attended a wedding and it was absolutely fabulous!
Horrible front desk staff and management! STAY AWAY! Highly incompetent! Horrible service! Erik Berlied the director of rooms discriminated against me and used racial slurs and vulgarities for no reason whatsoever! I will be filing a civil suit against their hotel! STAY FAR AWAY!
The rooms are colorful and inviting, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Loved my stay.
Great old hotel, redone with style, spacious rooms and great front desk.
The rooms are extremely comfortable and will not disappoint. My son and I have stayed here twice and we are always impressed by the idea of 2 king beds in a room. What’s not to love ❤️ The Lobby is magnificently decorated for a warm and tasteful welcome and the staff is also very welcoming.
We stayed at The Gradate so that we could attend Michael Buble’s concert. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. We especially loved the unique decor and really cool vibe that the hotel had to offer. It was close to everything. Thank you! We definitely will be returning.
The food is, at best, terrible. I take that back, the dinner rolls were palatable and the desert, thank god they bought them elsewhere. The 'food' they 'cooked' was terrible; bland, blotchy and I've had better in a hospital. The wine they serve, well, to call it wine is an like calling shit, fertilizer. $9 for Two Buck Chuck? I could not drink it. Spear me. I know the 1.5 liter of jug wine they serve costs $9. Yeah, milk that bootle — cheap bastards. And $5 for a diet coke. WTF?! The wait staff? Yes, they made me wait and their attitude? Like I was there for them. Will I return? The food I was served might return but I won't. Rating — 11
Historic hotel, located in the center of the arts district near the university. From the high floors you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city. Self parking or vale. Restaurant and star Buck accessible from the inside. Perhaps it would need a refreshment and modernization but not excessive so as not to lose the charm of the past.
Such a beautiful amazing little hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The room was gorgeous and I love the fact that they kept some of the Vintage things inside of the hotel such as the old school mailbox. Totally worth it. Beware that this hotel is downtown and I went ahead and pay the extra for the valet parking the service is amazing and you can come and go as you please which means you have free parking downtown. If you have the opportunity to stop here please take it. Had a lovely stay.
This was a great hotel. Today it is trying to be a good hotel with the bones of a 100 year old good hotel. Its nostalgic, scenes from Madmen could have been filmed here. There is majesty to it. It did not feel comfortable, it felt forced… Oh and the builtmore parking garage is no longer affiliated with the hotel. This picture is the car we pulled in next to on night one. "Welcome to Providence? "
Hotel lobby is amazing. The check in was great. The valet parking was outstanding. The hotel room was VERY nice. Beds are VERY comfortable and the view is wonderful. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the disrespect. This Male employee kept a dirty stare at my wife's hips. I gave him a look like "SERIOUSLY? have some respect". He looked at me, TWICE, and completely ignored me and kept staring at my wife. This made me VERY uncomfortable, just to put it nicely.
There is NO free parking for the guests. Parking charges are $32 for one day. Room service is pathetic. Our room had no body wash when we checked in. We requested one body wash and the delivery guy was expecting a tip which we didn't give him. Day 2: we called thrice for dry towels and body wash gel. The delivery guy only hands out towels and when I asked him about body wash, he says I already gave you one and we don't have anymore in the hotel. It's a 16+ floors hotel with more than 20 rooms on each floor and they don't have any body wash. Simply ridiculous service and the staff is very rude. Don't go to this place unless you like to pay for every single thing you order from room service even if they are expected to be present in the room when you check-in.
This hotel was opened in 1922 so don't go expecting the lastest in contemporary design. It's a classic hotel and the service is top notch. The valet service is very organized and professional. The front counter even brought up a microwave to our room upon request. At $250+/night it's definitely on the pricey side and my family is used to more contemporary accommodations. However, it's still looks great and the beds are very comfortable. We slept in a Junior King suite. Please keep in mind that this suite will not have a refrigerator or microwave. So if your traveling with a family that can be a bit of an inconvenience. All in all we weren't blown out of the water by the overall experience but it was still a pleasant one.
Overall a great place to stay. Plenty of nearby restaurant choices. Short walk to mall and federal hill. Only one issue… room was stuffy the entire stay. Would have complained, but a cool front made it a moot point.
The Biltmore is exceptionally beautiful. If you enjoy the opulence of the 1920’s then you must stay here, Upon entering the lobby, you are transported back in time. We had a suite which consisted of two very large rooms. The bed is so very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accomadating. I had a refrigerator in the room. I also requested a microwave (which was brought up quickly). I strongly recommend this hotel. Plus Starbucks is attached to the lobby,
The Biltmore was a wonderful stay, it's classic architecture and wonderful staff are a joy to see. Located far enough away from 95 its a great choice so you dont have to listen to the roar of traffic all night. There are so many options for food and nightly dance and drinks in less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel you'll feel overwhelmed. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms very spacious, the ice machines alternate ever floor so that was a bit tedious. Would stay here again for sure. If you like soft pillows then this hotel pillow is for you.
This hotel is very classy and well worth the price. There is a ton of staff all ready and waiting to help with any request. The room was wonderful with very cold ac. The bathroom had a stand up shower and a Jacuzzi tub which was a very welcome surprise. We parked in the garage next door but the hotel has valet if preferred. Overall it was a very nice stay and I highly recommend this hotel.
There was a wedding party in the bar area. We went for dinner after gardening all day. Super tired and hungry. There were middle aged men hanging over my chair, yelling for the bartenders. Complaining that they were taking too long. Being completely disrespectful. I had one man leaning on the back of my chair to the point that I couldn't sit back. The bartenders were helpful, but service was very slow.
Such a beautiful building. The architectural details are stunning! Was just passing through but I will have to look at staying there next time we visit.
Accommodations were nice, and the building is very well-located within walking distance of anywhere we wanted to go. I only have two complaints. First, the heat was always on in the room no matter how low we turned the setting, so we had to turn it all the way off and open the window to keep the room comfortable (below 76 degrees). My second complaint is that housekeeping left used gloves in the room on top of my belongings. Who knows what they’d cleaned with those gloves or why they chose to lay them on my belongings, but I would’ve expected a higher attention to detail from a 4 star hotel.
Gorgeous, huge room. The restaurant is amazing. The spa is beyond my expectations and the location is perfect. One of the best places I have EVER stayed.
The place is really clean. The rooms were well organized and had a really good view. My room didn't come with a microwave, but they were able to bring one to the room a long with other minor things I had forgotten on my trip. It was all free of charge which really surprised me. The parking is a bit pricey, but there is no near parking lot offering better rates so it will have to do.
Nice Hotel. Very quite room and comfortable. They were unable to park my F350 pick up as it was to tall so I needed to secure parking off site myself. Every single night when I returned after working all day my key card would not work and I would have to return to the lobby to have it addressed. As they were telling me it never happens there was a woman with the exact same problem.
Lovely hotel. Rooms have most facilities a person would need and the restaurant downstairs provides excellent food (although the serving time is a bit on the slow side). Unfortunately, there are no packages which include breakfast when you make your booking. The location is good too as it is an hour drive from Newport and a 10 min walk from the station which can take you into Boston!
I attended a conference here. Parking was convenient and cheap. The building was beautiful. The catered lunch was delicious. All staff were super friendly.
The providence can be rightly said to be beyond its glory days, but don't count her out just yet. The building itself is still beautiful if just a little dated. The Providence Biltmore still has tons to offer. I did have a nice chat with the general manager who filled me in on some of the plans for the future and if it all comes to fruition, this place will be amazing in a few years. Don't get me wrong, it is still a nice hotel. Clean, comfortable rooms with a friendly helpful staff. I would expect that at a nicer hotel. The hallways have seen better days and the fixtures could use some updating. However, the paint isn't peeling and the carpets are in pretty good shape so I think overall it still is a great place to stay. Location … location … location! The Biltmore is where you want to be. Centrally located, it has access to Providence and the views from the rooms are stunning. Take a stroll and check out the local dining options. The people of Providence are proud of their little city and they should be. I am definitely coming back and staying here a few years from now just so I can see the transformation. Someday its iconic glass elevator will take guests to their rooms and I want a ride!
Nice rooms. We had the suite so it was big with nice tub/bathroom area. Great views from the 15th floor. Parking was kind of strange. Had parking garage but not easy to get to the hotel from there.
If you like heat then this is the place room was 84° no AC when I turned in I put the AC on to cool the room only to wake in a pile of sweat because as I was informed it's winter we heat the room you can turn it off and open a window and we can send a fan up really. Thanks for a night of no sleep for what you pay here they should have climate controlled rooms instead it's freeze or bake here at the Providence Biltmore no in-between it's a shame because this is a beautiful property and location is awesome but for the price I should be able to control what my room temp is, this is the first and last time we will use this property while in Providence there are lots of other properties to stay in when here. I will say the hotel did comp the room but I would have rather had a comfortable nights sleep.
Beautiful hotel and kind staff! Central location was perfect for exploring Providence. Tons of restaurants and shopping within a few blocks, and not far from historic attractions. Our room was clean and had a nice view of the skating rink, the bathroom was a bit small but not a big deal. It didn't have a hair dryer which I'm used to finding in hotels, just as a heads up!
Historic and charming hotel with a lot of character. The lobby is grand and richly adorned, with plaques offering tidbits about the hotel and its colorful past. Price was reasonable for the amenities and the convenient location in downtown Providence, within walking distance of major attractions. There is a $$$ restaurant and a Starbucks on-site. They accommodated our request for a room with a view. The room itself was cozy and had everything we needed. Valet service is available for a fee ($30). If you prefer to self-park, the most convenient parking is at the Biltmore Garage at the back of the hotel, which unfortunately does NOT have a walkway directly connected to the hotel and charges $25 per day.
The hotel is beautiful and the location is great. Hotel services are as expected, if not a little slow. When we visited the elevators did not work and we had to take the stairs to get to our room. The rooms are clean, but in the small side. You can see the age in the decor, but it doesn't make the stay any worse. Overall, a good place to stay to soak in Providence history in the heart of Providence.
McCormick and Schmidt's is right off of the lobby and is a great establishment. The inviting wait staff has always made us feel comfortable and at home. Their food is great!
Great place to stay. Staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. Convenient location. Quick check in and out. Would stay here again!
The staff in this hotel are amazing and very gracious. For example at one point I needed to modify my reservation because my flight was extremely delayed. The staff member was very understanding to the situation and I appreciate it.
Nothing like the best… Treat yourself to it. The staff was amazing… great service. Good prices and the rooms… I mean what a view! Ask for a room overlooking downtown. Priceless!
Staying in an historic hotel has it's perks in terms of elegance ornamatation and style line the Biltmore. The room was fine. Having a restaurant and a separate Starbucks attached to the lobby was an added perk. The location is central to the city.
This centrally located historic hotel was a pleasure to behold, grand ballroom is something special. We attended a convention there and the breakfast was simply a continental but delicious. The atmosphere is unique in that it has great character and the staff do a fantastic job of complimenting it's charm.
Very nice staff. Beautiful accommodations with clean rooms and comfortable beds. Fitness Center was adequate. Atrium is beautiful. Looks like it would be a good wedding venue. McCormick and Schmick Steak House attached was delicious.
Huge suite. Great staff. Very accommodating and polite. Beautiful hotel in a great location. Walking distance to brown university and train station.
We just held our daughters wedding at the Biltmore. Everything was perfect, the staff anticipated every need and Jennifer the event coordinator was a dream to work with. The photos are amazing, it’s a gorgeous place to hold an event.
After staying at the Biltmore, the hotel was luxurious and of course cause quite a lot to stay at for the weekend. I did enjoy the Starbucks being conveniently downstairs. The bed linens were fresh and comfortable. The only thing I could recommend is maybe upgrading the bathrooms. The bedroom was fantastic, but once you walked into the bathroom it was like a normal $80 hotel room. Not worth it. It was also very complicated to close the door since it was right in front of the toilet. Had to do some weird maneuvers sometimes lol.
The building is beautiful! And the staff is very helpful. But the bathroom is dated. But it's a good value for the price. We enjoyed our stay.
I can't say enough about this hotel. I always stay there when I'm visiting. The beds are heaven and guarantee a good night's sleep. It is truly grand. My only issue is with the accounting department. Go over your bill with a fine tooth comb.
The entry way is beautiful. The staff is nice and helpful. Rooms are decently upgraded. But there are some things old buildings will always have… That distinct old smell (primarily only the hallways).
Historic and such a beautiful hotel! The views are amazing. Everything from shopping, museums and restaurants are all a short walk away. Loved this place! The staff and valets were great. I'd give a 5-star rating except that the $29 daily parking rate is distasteful for anyone. At $250 a night, it should be covered.
Update to the below — upon checkout the front desk comped half our stay and our poor breakfast experience. They were very apologetic and the woman I spoke with was genuinely upset that the experience we had did not live up to the Biltmore's standard. I can tell that the below experience was very likely the exception to the rule. We came here for a romantic weekend and it did not go well. Stayed in a room on the fourth floor facing the park Friday night and discovered that it is RIDICULOUSLY loud in that room. The park has an ice skating rink set up in it and it blasts music (much louder than you're thinking). Additionally, the room is right above a deck full of people talking and laughing and having a good time and there is no soundproofing in the room. So until 11pm there was blasting music as well as individual conversations pouring into the room. The front desk offered to move us when we called at 10:30 but it was already very late, we would have had to pack up everything and had a 4am start to the day so we were exhausted. Saturday morning at breakfast in the hotel restaurant our food took a long time and people around us were served first even though they came in after us and ordered similar dishes. When we were served I took a bite of mine then looked up at my girlfriend staring at her plate in confusion because it was clearly not what she had ordered.
If I could rate the rooms separately from the lobby I would give the lobby atmosphere a 5 star rating. Gorgeous and timeless. I felt like I was on the titanic in the ballroom.
The room was disappointing for the rate and the expectation. We were on the 10th floor and the stench in the hallway was overbearing. The bathroom door did not even close nevermind lock and the bathrooms were outdated and a disappointment. The view out our window was spectacular and the staff curtious and attentive. Restaurant for breakfast was a HUGE disappointment. 40 min to get food and food was fair $90 for the 3 of us STARBUCKS ONSITE.
I went to The Spa for a massage and was pleasantly surprised. The masseuse was very professional and skilled. I left feeling very refreshed! I would totally consider going back again, but I had a gift card so I can't comment on the prices.
It was a nice hotel for what it aims to be — an old, historic hotel that has been updated with some modern amenities. Still even with obvious renovations, the rooms are a bit small and cramped versus most comparably priced hotels. If you like the old fashion historical look of the hotel then it might be of interest otherwise there are some more modern hotels in the area that offer more comfortable rooms.
Best beds in the city. Older hotel with lots of charm and unique features. They have done a good job updating while keeping it unique. Best downtown location.
Very nice Pet friendly historical hotel in downtown Providence. We love to walk to Murphys Irish pub nearby. There is a skating rink next door in winter. Surrounding area can be kind of sketchy, especially the park across the street. Very nice hotel though. Classy.
Nice clean room, great service. Would stay here again.
Went for a wedding… classic and beautiful venue with exceptional service. Wonderful ballroom on the top floor with fantastic views of Providence.
Getting into Valet was a bit tricky since I am not familiar with the area. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. My room was spacious and very comfortable. I would definitely stay again.
The hotel itself was nice — I was here for a conference, though, and really didn't spend that much time in the room. The heating and A/C had problems in the conference room I was in, and my floor had no "down" elevator button, but besides from those problems I had a pleasant experience.
The biltmore is a beautiful historic hotel. The main lobby is gorgeous and the glass elevator sits in the middle. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant, McCormick and schmicks is delicious, with a stellar happy hour.
The room and service were excellent. The lobby is beautiful. They had a guest reception at the restaurant next to the lobby with free drinks and appetizers, which included calamari and bacon wrapped shrimp. They said that they are doing guest receptions every week on Tuesday or Wednesday nights. It was a wonderful surprise for us! Would definitely stay here again.
Rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable.
Great attention to detail. And lovely architecture.
The hotel and the rooms are absolutely beautiful. We very much enjoyed our stay.
Very nice, historic hotel.
Nice lobby area. Room 629 was very dirty. Sink was detaching from the wall. Poor lighting in the room and bathroom. Wall paper was bubbling up on several walls. Cancelled reservation after arrival. Still had to pay $258 for the few minutes we spent in the room. First time I've ever left a hotel under these circumstances and I've stayed in some real sh** holes. Service was great at the desk checking in though.
Wow! What a hotel. Beautifully redesigned, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Not to mention the history along with this place. We had a great stay and will be back!
I usually stay at the Providence Hilton but occasionally when the rates are right I stay here. It really is a sight to behold and a beautiful hotel with historical character you won't find in newer hotels. There is a McCormick & Schmick’s restaurant on site which provides excellent service and food. The gym is great and the rooms are spacious and varied. It really felt like I was waking up in my own apartment though a lot of the space was empty. There are some things that I was surprised at given that this location is so pricey and charges $28 a day for parking. The first thing missing is that that there is no executive lounge though there is plenty of space for such a thing. Also if you forget something they have no small store or complimentary items. There is a 7-11 nearby but I was surprised that was the only option such a otherwise quality hotel had available. There also is no pool jacuzzi or anything like that. The only small complaint I had with the restaurant was that they forgot the condiments several times. Not a big deal but some things go without saying with room rates such as these. Overall a good experience but with a few small changes and enhancements this could be an extraordinary experience.
'Twas good but still the bathrooms could be more lit.
The manager Lisa at the spa is rude, and completely unprofessional I have been going there even before it was managed by Biltmore (Red Door). The few times I had to bring my daughter with me for a 20 minute appointment, they would not let her in the treatment room, but sat with her in the make-up room. This time Lisa called back and said my daughter had to sit ALONE in the lobby because her girls were not going to watch her. I have been in hospitality all of my life and I would never treat or talk to a regular client like that. She was aggressive and hostile and now I know why no one else is ever in there. Good luck in such a struggling economy. Word travels fast in RI.
Awesome custumer service and nice historical hotel.
It's old, it's beautiful, has convenient location downtown. However, they are renovating the fitness room for who knows how long, not accessible. The restaurant is good but overpriced, like it's Starbucks. Room service ishas a good selection but is served only till 11pm or 12 Fri and Sat. No vending machines. Valet parking ($29 dollars) is mandatory unless you want to walk a couple blocks to save 9 bucks, plus tipping every time to want to go somewhere or come back. The staff is friendly, but the amenities seem to be lacking, no pool or Jacuzzi, they lock the 3rd floor terrace unless there is an event or maybe by request. It really seems quite outdated. I should have stayed somewhere with more modern amenities. The internet seems reasonably fast, The TV is basic cable only. The bathtubs are tiny. The bed is comfortable. There is no way to regulate the temperature, it central air and its cold. I had to shut it off and wear pants and long sleeves, or stay under the covers. Good for people who like it cold. Overall it's just ok, nothing special except for the rich history. Took a tour some people say it's haunted, seems like it could be, and that's part of the charm.
Awesome hotel, old, historic, close to everything! beds were ridiculously comfortable but there was a lot of noise outside during the night, which is to be expected in a city.
Me, my girlfriend and my brother stayed at the hotel last month it was very nice we stayed on a Saturday and left monday make a long story short I told my brother to get the gps out and he told me he couldn't find it so we search the whole car come to find out someone stole it and to top it off they stole our car air fresheners that was all ready half used like really and the messed up thing thing about it is the valet left our car unlock so for everyone who decides to stay there you take everything out your car that is valuable to you.
We recently stayed at the Biltmore for our Wedding. We spent two nights in the Noble Suite, which was so beautiful! We had our own terrace, a large living-type room and a bedroom, two bathrooms and plenty of seating for the bridal party, vendors and guests. The hotel was extremely accommodating to us and our needs. The room was comfortable, beautiful and an excellent value. The hotel is a gorgeous place for a wedding or other large function. I really can't say enough good things about the Biltmore.

NO AIR-CONDITIONING! They have known about this for sometime. They are transferring some system over. No ceiling fans other than one in the bedroom. No screens in the windows. No compensation offered for this inconvenience. In this day and age how does a hotel of this caliber think it is OK not to inform their guests. Completely shocking!
