We had a wedding at the MVG in September. I can't speak enough about the views. The views are amazing! BUT that's about it. We had a very unpleasant experience. I would not recommend this place as a wedding venue to a friend. And let just say that they can't even admit and recognize how badly they did. Business like that has no potential for growth! 1) We payed over $300/night for our room. The AC was working, but not cooling the room. I found hair in the bathroom. The room was dusty. They charged us extra $25 for a small fridge. They gave my fiancee a hard time at the check in because his name was not on the reservation. 2) The rehearsal dinner was BAD. I don't need to go into great details, but it started with not having chilled wine and make us wait 20-30 min to get a glass of wine, to badly cooked dinner, and staff that was functioning below basic level of training. 3) The wedding. It was suppose to be our special day. We did not feel that way. So many things went wrong. They served us stale bread (which btw, they are not admitting they did. Apparently all 45 guests are wrong), and salad that tasted like crap. The main dish was excellent. The cake was not decorated as agreed upon. And again, the staff that had no idea what they were doing. These are just a few things. At first, I did not want to write this review. But after it took them 2 weeks to respond to our honest feedback, and only offer us a laughable amount of reimbursement, I do want to take a minute and share our experience. If you want to have a special day and get what you pay for, think twice before choosing this venue. They might be great at handling small parties (like less than 10 people), but they DO NOT HAVE WHAT IT TAKES to handle small wedding of 40+ people.
