Wonderful three night stay. Comfortable rooms, great pool and walking distance to Museum of Science.

For my daughters 8th birthday we booked a room with two double beds and they were kind enough to upgrade us to two king size bed rooms that were adjoining! Not to mention they put in happy birthday balloons! So very very kind! We will be back!

We had an awesome and brief one nite stay. I loved the holiday decor and my dad was really blessed that the Starbucks inside the hotel blessed him with a muffin for his 75th bday, he was tickled! The staff was very friendly and nice, the views were gorgeous! We look forward to coming back!

We have attended so many occasions including Weddings, Birthday Parties and lots of special community functions. All presented with first class quality service by all.

The most amazing venue for a wedding! They offer super rooms with suite options, have newly renovated ballrooms and outstanding food and beverage options! The wedding coordinators (Jim and Bianca) are incredible! Every detail was covered and they made the day A+! The staff are customer first focused. We’ll be back soon! Art bar is our new favorite!

Hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are large and very comfortable. The views from the bedrooms facing the river have good views towards the city.

Hotel is at an excellent location. Great view. Easy access to restaurants, shopping and 10 min walk to marketplace.

Well, my room key stopped working, and one of the elevators was broken, so it took me 20 minutes to get downstairs. Stood in line for 10 minutes, then the man at the desk told me I needed ID (which was in the room), so I showed him my bank account app, my drivers license on the DMV site, and my facebook account, but no! He took MY room key, and said he had to have one of his “associates” escort me upstairs. So up we went, the ONE elevator took 25 minutes to come down, and to top it off a bell hop stood next to me in the elevator and hit me in the knee several times with his fancy luggage mobile. My friend let me in to the room and they said they magically no longer needed ID (they could have just called up to the room to verify). Needless to say I’m not even going back downstairs to get the room key & my plan to go swimming is ruined.

Wonderful hotel from the moment we stepped foot inside. Extremely clean, and very welcoming staff. So friendly. I mentioned it was my daughters 7th birthday at check in, and they came to the room sang happy bday wrote a personalized card and brought us dessert it was ABOVE and beyond what they needed to do. We will definitely be returning for another visit!

This hotel is the worst I've ever been to you would Expect top notch service at a hotel on the Especially with the price you pay! We came with friends for the 4th of July and when we got to our Room They told us it was gonna face the fire works and it did not and they couldn't switch us because there were no other rooms. We left to go walk about a mile to see the fireworks and when we got back at midnight we were tired and couldn't get in our Room because our key wouldn't… work. We went downstairs and the manager was so rude and would not give me new keys and told me there was a million reasons why it may not work because our friends put the reservation In their name even though we paid for it and we are Hilton and We are Hilton members and gave our credit card they needed to wake up our friends in their Room To get their I d's to let us into our Room. The manager took 3 phone calls and then has to get a guy to take us up to the Room because it's not in our name and needs to knock on our friends door and wake them up to get their ID. He tells the guy what to do but then takes more calls in the Guy does not speak English so he won't leave until he understands what the manager is asking even though I told him where they're staying And the manager wanted their ID he does this 4 more times.

One of the worst hotels in the boston area. I am a frequent business traveler and this is the first time I have stayed at a hotel where the staff fraudulently gave themselves a $8 tip on room service. Front desk is very unhelpful and probably racist. Other Royal Sonesta properties are lovely, this hotel summarizes Boston hospitality in a nutshell.

Amazing staff and beautiful room with amazing views. I stayed in an executive suite with the Charles River view — one of the most gorgeous hotel rooms I’ve stayed in, and very modern. There’s a mall directly across the street from the hotel, and the river walk right behind, which was awesome for quick things to do in between scheduled events. Highly recommend for anyone staying in the Boston/Cambridge area!

This was a very nice hotel in a great location along the Charles River. I would definitely stay there again. The only improvements I would make are: 1) The hallway outside our room was warm and stuffy (not a big deal) 2) The room was warm and stuffy… it took most of the night to cool down. 3) All of the toiletries (body wash, shampoo, and conditioner) were all coconit scented. I am a grown man… I don't even like coconut… I smelled like a 14 year-old girl who just robbed a Bath and Body Works.

Hotel was nice and clean. My bathroom was small, with a large shower. No bathtub. Had plenty of electrical outlets in the room. Was able to walk to some shopping and a restaurant called The Friendly Toast was about a mile away and walkable in good weather. Went for quick happy hour at the hotel all was good but took quite some time to get the check.

Rooms were so comfy and roomy, slept like babies in such comfy beds. Arrived early and room was not ready so went for an amazing lunch and when we were done, we were good to go which made us so happy as we were heading to Fenway to take a tour and enjoy a game. Only true disappointment was breakfast, a little on the steep side which didn't mind paying cause lunch was so delicious couple days before and expected elevated prices in a hotel but was such a disappointment. Firstly not happy we were placed in the back room where buffet was with no other patrons and we were forgotten. Breakfast was served fairly promptly with perfectly cooked eggs but frozen hash browns shocking and burnt bacon. Waitress finally came to ask after quite some time of sitting if would like more coffee and she never came back and as I was annoyed, I got up to go find someone at bar to ask for more coffee. However, despite breakfast, would stay again as it is a beautiful clean hotel with great staff.

Our stay at the Royal Sonesta has been great. The hotel decoration is awesome and quirky, the staff has been friendly, and we loved the on-site cafe/breakfast bar to grab something on the way out to go sightseeing. Amenities and service have been good, and we really enjoyed the drinks at the Dante restaurant. Only two complaints — our first night there was a sharp knock that randomly sounded out at about 4-5am and did not stop until about 8:30. To this day we have no clue what it was or where exactly it was coming from, and it was sporadic enough that we couldn't just wait for to happen and investigate. But it was loud enough that it startled us awake and we got pretty much no sleep. We unplugged all the appliances (maybe the mini fridge was the culprit? ) other than the two lamps and haven't heard it since. And the conditioner they provide is terrible, doesn't do anything but tangle your hair more and was painful to brush. Just a note if you have long hair.

I came to the Royal Sonesta Boston for a wedding. I had beautiful views of the harbor from my room. When we requested for another couple going to the wedding in the conjoining room they surprising said yes. Very clean rooms and the location is great. I had an over all good experience here. However, when we decide to order beers to the room from a third party (so we didn't have to pay $10+ a drink at the hotel bar) the delivery was denied and a hotel employee came to the room to scold us.

Paid for a King Size, got a pint size room with a full bed… contacted GM directly on LinkedIn, he responded saying that there was no record of my phone call to the front desk. Waited 2 days for someone to call me back, just because I didn't whine for 2 days meant no one cared. 2 follow up msgs to the GM and nothing back. Certain member of the staff can learn thing or two (you can see in your system who checked me in) … Restaurant staff was great hence 2 stars…

Great room and beautiful property. Hospitality not over the top but adequate. Cambridge view is awesome. Large pool. Not heated. No sauna or hot tub. Small run it with the valet but property leadership let me vent. Property solid 4. Staff 3. Again, basing my lower score on one small event and how it was handled by the guest level staff.

Beds are great and shower is amazing. It das a super cool shoe exhibit. And I was told they always have cool stuff like that. The best part were the freshly baked cookies that were served every day around 3 PM. Complementary!

Best spot to chill to overlook the Charles River. Great breeze. Best time to be there is off peak (after lunch or mid-afternoon.

Great clean rooms, very modern and very cozy. However, very clairvoyant therefore 1 point deduction. Otherwise, everything really fits. I always like to come back here.

Horrible service that comes complete with mice running around the coffee shop. The Royal Sonesta was a royal pain. Starting with my AC unit being broken, which took more than an hour to fix and a mechanic in and out the room more than 4 times as I tried to work. The coffee shop had mice going in and out the bakery while I heated my food and stood in a chair so I could keep my eye on them. Lastly I had scheduled a van through the hotel. When said van did not come, even though it was written into my sign in when I arrived. The hotel said there was nothing they could do, no empathy no responsibility… nothing. If you want to enjoy Boston and get work done. Don't come to the Royal Sonesta.

Really enjoyed the stay here during a snow storm. Convenient location. Easy access to the Science Museum. Nice views of the skyline!

This review is only for the restaurant. Dante was just OK. It was quiet and had gorgeous views on a Friday night which was great! It was also decorated nicely and the chairs weren't terrible. Unfortunately, the food was just eh. We split four appetizers then each got a small main. Nothing was excellent and everything was very expensive. Our waiter was also EXCEPTIONALLY awkward. Overall I would not return.

Very nice hotel w/beautiful interior design throughout. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Great toiletries. ALWAYS the bonus is having a bathrobe waiting 4 me in my room! Which comes standard w/every room. No microwaves anywhere on property!

My room had a broken restroom door that made a super annoying sound when you moved it. Customer service is good. At 3:15 they finally came to clean my room, but at that point it was inconvenient (staying multiple days). Everything else was nice.

Convenient location, right across from food and shopping and with a scenic walk to back bay. The rooms are spacious, clean and has all the amenities you could require whether you are travelling for business or pleasure. Dante restaurant is conveniently located inside the hotel and there is also a little convenience store for a quick snack or drink. Staff is very friendly and helpful. You can opt for valet or self parking which is very convenient.

This hotel has a friendly and accommodating staff. I felt very relaxed and comfortable during my stay there. It is also closely located to many interesting areas, which was convenient.

We just checked in for what was supposed to be a surprise getaway for my 50th Birthday. My husband booked a king room, Cambridge view. However, apparently there were no king rooms left when we checked in (at 7:45 pm), but the guest services rep neglected to mention that, but ‘upgraded’ us to a ‘river view’ room-on the corner at the end of a hallway next to the ice maker. The river ‘view’ consist of a sliver of a water view if you crane your neck and peer to the right of this building, over the valet parking area, and over two roof lines. We were informed of this ‘generous upgrade’ & the lack of king beds when we returned to change our room. What a disappointment! Thanks for nothing, Royal Sonesta.

Great hotel. Great location. Room was very clean and comfortable. Extras I haven't seen at other hotels such as sensors that turn on floor lights when you get out of bed dyring the night. Lots of ac outlets. Modern light switches. Bike rentals across the street. Shopping mall across the street. A room safe that can hold laptop computers easily. Minus a star for expensive hot breakfast.

Beautiful hotel and area. Room only had TWO electric outlets! And NEITHER were convenient. Coffee make in room but NOWHERE TO PLUG IT! Mall across the street for shopping. Window actually opened DEFINITE PLUS! River with boat marina on back side of hotel. Nice!

The rooms were very nice and the food was very good. We tried different canapés and plates and everything was delicious. The service quite good, though sometimes he noticed his burden.

Hotel level. Recently renovated. Spacious and comfortable rooms. The staff was very helpful Nice location on the Charles River. Although it is in Cambridge, the centre of Boston is easily reachable by foot in disguise. Recommended.

Room was acceptable. There wasn't enough lighting in the room and light switches were confusing. Ironically my favorite part was the motion light under bed side table that turned on when you got out of bed — which made middle of the night bathroom trip easier. The bathroom was quite small and the shower was below standard. It was hard to set and maintain temperature. There was low pressure.

The hotel is located in Cambridge, MA along the Charles River. The view from Riverside rooms is lovely. The river in the foreground and Boston in the background. The Museum of Science, TD Garden arena, plus more (shopping mall, restaurants) range from across the street to across the river. (About a $12 cab ride if you luck out with traffic). The rooms were clean and a good size. Comfortable for 2 people. There is room service, restaurants, valet parking, and concierge service. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. The hotel was an amazing stay for the weekend and perfect for those going to see the Bruins play at home. The only downside is parking is not free. It is provided at the hotel but for the weekend, it costed us $90.

Awesome stay. Awesome view. Bed is so comfortable. Room is immaculate. Select a corner room with a view. We will stay again. The only issue with the room is that there was no microwave. And parking at the hotel is pretty costly per night.

We tried Royal Sonesta because they allow dogs to stay overnight for a fee. We wanted to enjoy a long weekend in Boston and needed to bring our dog. We were given a room with two queen beds and a beautiful view of Charles River. We were walking distance from the Museum of Science and many other locations. We were able to walk to the meet-up spot for our duck tour. The hotel staff was so friendly. They have a small coffee shop with great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. They have a restaurant too, but we didn't try it. All in all, we slept great. The room was very clean and had a convenient small fridge. I'd stay here again and I'd recommend it to anyone staying in Boston.

The Royal Sonesta offers comfortable rooms right along the river in Cambridge. Many of the rooms offer great views over the river and Boston. The rooms are small, but clean, tidy, and modern. Most importantly the beds and bathrooms are great and comfortable. The common areas are also nice with a little lobby area for working and a large outdoor patio with food and drinks. If your destination is Cambridge or even Boston, it’s the perfect place to stay as both are a fairly short walk away.

The accommodations were very good. I stayed overnight for a company party, and they had very spacious rooms, complete with a small living room area where someone could invite friends back to their room for TV, drinks or conversation. There were no purchasable drinks in the mini-fridge, but that is fine because I would have brought my own anyway. It's also a very good location just outside the busier areas of Boston. Traffic around the hotel is quite manageable.

Privacy respected. Close to the Cambridgeside Galleria which is a 3 story mall like shopping center. Beautiful views of the Charles River, Back Bay, and the West End of Boston. Convenient and clean. Can't beat the location in Cambridge.

The hotel has great views as it sits right next to the water. The event space was very professional and the staff handled the 400 person event without any hiccups. Overall the hotel looked very clean and had nice facilities including parking. I would recommend the hotel for hosting a work related event in their halls.

I originally wrote a review about some poor service I received, but what matters the most is when a company does what is possible to right the situation. The hotel reached out to me directly and went beyond and out of their way to improve the quality of service. With that being said, I am glad to be a customer again and feel that the deeds of one person will not determine the quality of the entire organization. I would gladly stay here again as long as the service maintains above average. The rooms here are beautiful, the amenities are amazing with a great bar and restaurant, most of the staff I have met have been very friendly and kind and I usually always look forward to coming here.

I booked this hotel for my graduation trip. I wanted a fancy hotel and an atmosphere of pure celebration. After talking with them on the phone I'm starting to have second thoughts. Unfortunately I cannot cancel without a loss. Will keep updating.

The location is great, the atmosphere is upscale, we got a wide room and a very comfortable bed. Many options for food and drinks inside and outside the structure. Great Gym and pool area!

The location is great. It is across the corner from the mall, minutes from attractions and a quick access to highways. Also liked the view! Rooms are clean. Shower's water pressure and temperature are really good. Three of the front desk clerks were really stubborn and narrow minded. Food was really pricey. Vallet staff was really nice and accommodating.

Staff is very kind and helpful. Rooms are clean and not to small. Breakfast is ok. Nice view at the backside of the hotel. You have to walk a while to get to Boston or Harvard University (my preference is to take a cab).

Bell Hotel Although a little pricey compared to Italian prices.

This hotel has a special charm: it is on the river, this makes it very charming and suggestive. Not to mention that it's in front of a big mall and at 2
Metro stops from the center. The rooms are great, clean and well furnished. Great for both business and leisure. The hotel offers bikes with which you can take a nice walk along the river.

My husband and I had stayed here and loved it! Our original room wasn't ready so we got upgraded to a bigger room. The rooms are huge and the view was amazing! The staff was so friendly too. Quick walk to the green line. Definitely would recommend!

Some rooms are very nice, some are more like a motel. My company stayed with them and the West wing was 10x worse than the east wing. The east wing could be very nice. 10 stars for the staff, everyone was wonderful, helpful and cheery. They couldn't have been better. They lost a star for the West wing… Some of my co-workers were very unhappy.

This hotel is a little bit out of the way, but it's affordable and nice. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Not convenient to public transportation, or anything, really, except a mall across the street. In good weather, it's a 30 minute walk to downtown or the north end. We were there on a very cold winter weekend, so we cabbed pretty much everywhere. I would stay here again in better weather.

Everything you expect from a high end hotel. The most important part is the people, and their people are 5 stars. A greeting and a smile when you walk by. The rooms was clean and fresh. You truly felt at home. I travel a lot and too often we take these experiences for granite, we shouldn't. Look no further then the Royal Sonesta.

Comfortable room. Pleasant view. The iron I tried to use at first was broken and leaked all over my shirt. The staff was nice and was able to get me a new before I had to leave.

I went to my holiday party on 1/23/16 and was treated like a queen. Our room was beautiful and clean. the food was delicious. Everyone was lovely, from the valet to the front desk to the maid service. I have stayed there in the past and have plans to stay there soon. Springtime is beautiful in Boston and the Royal Sonesta will be my choice. Jim Anello and Kelly Keefe were outstanding. A class act.

This hotel is very nice, very clean and has very friendly staff. The rooms are very clean and nice with contemporary decor. A few of the reviews mention construction, no coffee makers and no refrigerator but I think those are old reviews because I didn't experience any of that. I would definitely stay here again.

One of the worst experiences of my life. Got to the hotel and was told that we are sorry but we over booked and we gave your room to someone else. The night manager was completely clueless and had no idea how to handle the situation. If you can avoid staying here do so at all costs.

Terrible business center. Only 2 computers available in a hall — which they call a "business center". Both computers were so slow, constantly got hung up, and crashed frequently. Such a major waste of time trying to deal with this antiquated equipment. The computers only allow you to send a print job of not more than 2 pages at a time, which was incredibly frustrating, when I just needed to print out supporting papers for a speech that I was giving here at the Sonesta The amazing staff here did what they could to address these issues, but I needed a suitable facility for preparing for my presentation at a conference that I co-hosted at the Sonesta. I needed a suitable working facility — not staff trying to make up for the slow old computer equipment that was constantly crashing and so locked down I could not even print. Major disappointment. Otherwise, the hotel was lovely.

This hotel looks pretty, but the air conditioning system is from the 1960's. The cooling is provided by a building supply and you have no control of the temperature. I called the front desk and their solution was to bring me a fan. I had the worst sleep since I was sweating all night, and I had to have the window open bringing in with it the street noise and bright lights from outside. It's unbelievable that such an expensive hotel does not have individual air conditioning for each room.

I recently enjoyed a girls weekend with four friends at the Royal Sonesta. The accommodations were comfortable, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the location and view were awesome.

Very nice hotel. Staff are very helpful and the rooms are clean and pleasant to stay in. Restaurant is okay, breakfast bar was too slow to wait in line for. I didn't have time to use the pool or other facilities, but they looked nice enough.

Nicely renovated inside. Beautiful views. Staff was very friendly. Manager sent us up chocolate for our anniversary which was super thoughtful and impressive. Located across the street from the mall which is very convenient. Cons would be very expensive parking, our room was 77 degrees in the middle of the winter. We were told the problem could be fixed with a fan in the window which led us to being hot and cold all night. Seems like a nice hotel should have better quality temperature control. Overall three stars. Would probably come back.

Checking in and out was fast. Nice and quiet and the view from our room on the 6th floor was fantastic. Rep at front desk noticed it was my girlfriends birthday and had a cake sent up to the room after we returned from dinner. Very nice experience overall, glad I chose to stay here. Will recommend to anyone.

The check in was an issue. My card keys did not work. Arriving so late I asked about the vending machine. The machine ate my money. The guard told me to speak to front desk. He told me to go back and get 800 and call vending machine operator (at 1am). THe first room there was no wireless internet signal. Second room good signal but the internet at this hotel is so so so slow. I had the premium high speed service but that did not matter. If you need to get work done and use internet services — — this is not the place to go.

-Quiet, Clean, Comfortable, Close to the downtown area. -Be prepared to add $40 per night to park in their hotel which is not included in the hotel stay. If you are planning to explore the city, would recommend taking the subway system or taxi service. The city is definitely not visitor parking friendly on any day other than Sunday. -There is no complimentary breakfast. -The room was not lake view room as advertised on expedia, I asked for it the lady said that would be an additional $30 a night.

Most hotels highlight their views, decor, amenities and room ambiance. Beyond my A+ rating on these levels at the Royal Sonesta Boston, I was sold by insanely attentive service. My first interactions with the Sonesta Boston team were via Twitter, and then of course in person. I was dumbfounded by the white-glove type service my family and I received. Heck, my 10 year old daughter cried up a storm the day we were leaving (she wanted to move and stay there). Coming from someone who's traveled and stayed at dozens of hotels, the Royal Sonesta Boston will always hold a special place in my heart.
