Overpriced. Not clean. There were hairs in the sheets that weren't ours. My son's blanket had spots all over it. Unfriendly owners.

Good place to sleep and spend a weekend or a week. It’s doesn’t look too satisfying outside but inside you might be quite surprised. The Inn does not accept cash, But accept any major cards. The location is 15 minutes ride to South Portland. Our room had a king size bed, sink next to the desk and A/C which was interesting experience. A/C was a life saver specially in hot days/nights. Good size bathroom, good water pressure and temperature, and clean towels. Have a TV on the wall and when you open a big cabinet, you will find a microwave and a mini fridge with freezer. Overall, a good experience, and we will be coming back here.

We spent two nights there. The first morning was very noisy from 6am the doors did not stop slamming. People visibly from the people who live in the hotel permanently. Spoke very loudly in the hallways. Once out of the room asking to stop the noise it was good.

Great stay at the Portland Inn! Perfext location easy to get to. Next door to the Asian bistro Fusion and the northern lights smoke shop, which were both awesome!

Dirty and old, the carpets were dirty, the bedspread had a feel of being used a lot. I stayed at building 5, might be the reason why. Free Breakfast was decent.

The room was nice and clean. The only downside was no heat on. It was 25 degrees out side and there was no heat on in the room or hallways. Our room was about 55 degrees when we walked through the door. It took almost 2 hours just to get in the mid 60s.

Went there this summer for vacation with my parents. The rooms are behind a chinese restaurant. The parking lot had trash all over it. When we walked through the halls to our room, there were party balloons and streamers all over the door across from us. The room smelt funny when we walked in. When we went to bed, people were coming in through the main door (which was left unlocked) to arrive at the party. Most of the partiers were drunk/high on who knows what. They party till 3AM when some one come out of their room and tells the kids to shut the h*ll up. When we wake up to leave, the hallway is covered in trash from last night shenanigans. We arrive in Bar Harbour and settle into our cabin before deciding to call the Inn's front desk. When we do, they tell us that we lied about the party and that we were just trying to get a free night. My opinion is to NOT STAY HERE. You'll have a better time sleeping in the streets of Portland than Le Inn à Portland.

I recently stayed an was very pleased. The staff was very kind including the front desk lady who was very helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were very clean breakfast was very good that included hot waffles. I would say this was my best stay in Portland.

I am not someone who typically leaves reviews however my experience staying here was beyond awful that I must make it known to others not to make the same mistake as myself by staying here. Our room wasn't clean on arrival after complaining we were told they only had one room left and brought us new towels, being desperate we tried to make the best of the situation by staying. In the night the air conditioner started producing a thick powered that caused us to choke and cough. In the morning we complained again and were told they couldn't help us and if we asked for a new room last night they would have given us a new room (which we were told wasn't an option) then as we finally went to leave we found our car with the windows smashed and everything stolen. The hotel Owners were beyond rude to us and wouldn't even provide us with a dust pan to clean up the broken glass. Never stay here! Please.

It's true, you get what you pay for. Fairly clean, no frills and the bed is like sleeping on a piece of plywood! Ouch!

The guy at the front desk was so judgmental he judged a book by its cover I came from the beach to check in so messy dress messy hair and he assumed we were there to party. I was there to work fifty hours that week.

Despite the older reviews, we opted to try this place out. After thorough inspection of the room, this place really isn't that bad. Yes, it looks dated and the arrangement is strange, but it's actually a decent place to stay. The room is clean, the bed is clean, and the linens are clean. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again. The older reviews are not indicative of what it feels and looks like here now!

It was fine for a place to stay the night but I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone I know.

The room was nicely furnished, more modern than we expected from the outside. The hallways were freezing. There was no heat in the hallways. The layout is a little strange of the property. There is a registration booth in the front parking lot, but the rooms are behind a restaurant, smoke shop, and eSig shop.

When you pull in they have a lot of interesting shops in the parking lot. The construction area well it smells like fresh paint. As someone with asthma, this immediately made me nervous. After a speedy check in, we went to our room and we're happy to find out that although the lobby and hallways smelled of paint, the room itself did not. And it was a very nice room! Spacious with a lot or very modern touches to the tables, lamps, beds, and television. The room was super clean, enough so that I had no worries about immediately flopping into bed when we got in. They did not offer breakfast which was a bummer. But I really did like this place.

This hotel had the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. The rooms was surprisingly nice for the surround area and exterior of the rooms, but the rude managers and very disrespectful front desk employee were a huge put off. They tried to overcharge us and then were rolling their eyes when we questioned why they tried to charge over 50 dollars over what we booked for. Personally I would not go there again. For the price that you pay you can find many other hotels with equal if not better accommodations and staff that genuinely enjoy having guests. If you can get past the incredibly rude staff then it might would be worth it.

Poor. No fridge no coffee pot. Fairly clean but not attractive. I understand you get what you pay for but another 15 dollars and you can get a lot better. Never will I stay again and would not recommend it.

It was a surprise to see a clean room with new carpet, bedding, t. V. Etc… The halls smelled of new paint (which is a good sign in my opinion) and the room was updated and nice. The whole setup/layout of the hotel is a little sketchy, but overall I was really pleased. I've stayed numerous times at the holiday inn by the bay, double tree in south Portland, and days inn in south Portland, and for the money this is the best deal. I will stay again.

The room was brand new and very clean. The flat screen TV delivered HBO straight to my brain. The picture quality was better then my TV at home. I did not like the color of the bed sheets at all. Looks like they are undergoing remodeling cause the room was way better then last year. I think it was a good deal for the price.

The price is not fear 120$ for shabby room although my wife forgot her medicine,, couple hours we got back to the INN but they said nothing found.

After reading the views I was definitely skeptical. The room was clean and updated which was a nice surprise. The hotel is located behind the restaurant which was kind of creepy in addition to the fact that we were virtually the ONLY ones here. Like we were the only car in the parking lot. I was pleasantly surprise though. According to the description they did not have room service but when we came back from being out the bed was made and new towels were hung. It was great for the price and if you are not bent on having the amenities.

Was a little pricey considering the poor quality — Room smelled of cigarettes even though it was "non-smoking". Halls reeked of mildew. No flyscreens on windows (I had to open them because of the smell). Good Wifi, but overall very disappointed.

After booking this hotel online, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had read a lot of bad reviews, and one optimistic review (the most recent). So I was happy to find a hotel with just the basics for a competitive rate in Portland. Some reviews from 2005 and 2006 complained of bad smells and uncleanliness, but the room was very clean. There may have been a hint of mildew upon first entering, but not enough to last more than a minute. Definitely no pet problems, as the new management does not allow pets. Service was fine. It's close to Hadlock Field and not too far away from Old Orchard Beach. Great place to stay if you're visiting to see the Sea Dogs and don't want to pay too much.
