We found the Brewster Inn to be a delightful experience of old English charm in New England. It was superbly clean with beautiful decor. Mark and Tina are very friendly and helpful hosts. The Beckford Room was a lovely, comfortable room overlooking a butterfly-shaped garden. I only wish I could have been there in summer to see it in full bloom. I guess we'll just have to go back. 😊

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Brewster Inn Our room was spacious and comfortable The inn is immaculately clean which is of the utmost importance during the pandemic Our socially distanced breakfast was delicious every morning Tina and Mark make sure they follow all of the COVID-19 guidelines in order to keep all of their guests safe We would never consider staying anywhere else when visiting our family in Dexter Tina and Mark made us feel like the Brewster Inn is our second home. I would highly recommend this to my hike or friends or anyone else that wants to go to any great hiking spot in Maine. The breakfasts is a great! The rooms are spacious and quiet. Mark and Tina are great hosts and very friendly people! I love my stay here thank you so much Mark for being patient with us the last few months calling you and bugging you about places! Thank you.

I had a 3 week stay here for work and it was absolutely amazing. Mark & Tina made sure I felt right at home and helped me with recommendations for food, laundromats, things to do in my free time and directions to places. The building itself is full of history and is just beautiful. The hot breakfast was delicious but I would be lying if I said I didn’t come down for breakfast for the strawberry bread every morning (I wish I could give an extra star just for that). I, seriously, cannot put into words how much I appreciate everything they did from leaving a town meeting to greet me when I got there to help with my bags to getting up at 5 AM to help me bring my bags back down when I was leaving. I would 100% recommend a stay here. The place is beautiful and you can tell how much love they put into it. Thank you Mark and Tina for making a lengthy stay away from home feel like I wasn’t actually away from home!

Delightful place to stay when in the area. The inn has been restored beautifully with modern amenities. True English country charm. And the personal customer service is excellent.

We had an absolutely delightful 2 day stay. Our suite was exceptionally clean and comfortable and the historic charm was a beautiful bonus.

Great place, very welcoming and clean. We where traveling on motorcycles to attend the seaplane “fly in” on Moosehead Lake, Greenville, Maine We decided to head out the day before and figured we would just find a hotel along the way. It was getting dark, our POI showed the closest place was the Brewster Inn. I placed a call and was greeted by such a kind gentlemen. Telling me, they have a room available with a comfortable bed for bikers! We arrived and was directed to a safe place to park our motorcycles for the night. . We enjoyed a chat with the owners. My wife and I were married at the Brewster Inn… we highly recommend it!

After a hiking emergency that required hospitalization, when we showed up at 12:30 am, desperate, Mark at the Brewster Inn graciously welcomed us into his inn with no reservation, on his day off, after closing time, out of the goodness of his heart. The Brewster Inn was beautiful, and provided the shower, bed, and respite that we desperately needed in order to get back on the trail the next day. The breakfast in the morning was delicious also. My stay was lacking for what I'd expect from a bed and breakfast. While accommodations were great the other aspects were lacking. I wish I had a couple more nights than just the one that I stayed to thoroughly enjoy my time.

Spent a wonderful night there! Room was more than comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast makes it worth a return visit! Fresh and hot food that makes a bed and breakfast so worth it. The history of the building was a pleasant surprise. The owners were amazing overall. We will definitely be returning.

We only stayed at the inn for 3 days and enjoyed every minute there. Mark and Tina were the best and enjoyed getting to know them. They really made us feel welcome. Would recommend staying here to everyone, even if just passing through.

Recently my mother died and 7 of my 8 children (one lives in Portland) flew in for the funeral. 4 spouses came for a total of 13 and I was in a quandary where to put everyone. I live in Newport and had no idea that the Brewster Inn was in Dexter. My daughter found it online from Utah! What a find! 7 of my family members stayed there for the week-end and thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The place was charming and the owners were very accommodating and delightful to visit with. The boys particularly raved about the home-made breakfast fare and there was plenty of space for them to gather in the evening to play games or watch the ballgame together. The innkeeper, Mark, even allowed us to use his lovely grounds to take family pictures. So thank-you for making their stay a memorable experience! Linda Morgan.

Mark and Tina were absolutely amazing! The house and area is beautiful and Mark knows all the best places to have a quiet dinner in the area. This was our second time there (our first was last year at the same time during our first honeymoon). The honeymoon suite was gorgeous with a lot of old books and items from the original Brewster House. Breakfast every morning was great. All in all they make you feel right at home while you're staying in such a beautiful house.

Was able to get a room later in the day because of a cancellation. Boy, did we luck out. Beautiful room and accommodations. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Would highly recommend.

Great place to stay… the inn is an amazing, rejuvenating, lovely place with great people taking care of you. Mark and Tina are really a great, they will go out of their way to help you out if you need anything.

We stayed in the Hathaway room. Our stay here has been excellent. Calm and rejuvenation can be expected. Loved it.

British elegance meets New England laid back. Wonderful management, very comfortable.

My husband, son, and I stayed for an overnight for my brother's wedding. We checked and had to contact Mark about a mishap with our room which he and Tina rectified immediately — super easy fix! We absolutely loved our room, especially the whirlpool tub. (Oh, and the water pressure is amazing! ) We had a delicious breakfast before our check out and Tina was kind enough to turn the train on for us to watch (if you stay, you'll know what I'm referring to. ) If we, for any reason, travel that far north again, we'd stay at the Inn in a heartbeat. What a beautiful place with such friendly Inn keepers who were happy to share some history of the home and the room we're staying in. This place is a hidden gem!

Historic and beautiful decorated inn. Mark is such a wonderful innkeeper. My husband come back to dexter after 50 years of his dexter summer camp in 1968. He want to see the camp again but he can't remember where. Mark help him to find and finally e made it. My husband was so happy. Mark excellent services and hospitality make our trip to Dexter so memorable. We had the great time to stay in The Game Room that was amazing clean, comfy and spacious. The breakfast is very delicious. We highly recommend Brewster Inn.

The Inn was beautifully restored, and our room was very cozy and clean. The owner was friendly, made conversation with guests, and was easily accessible at all times. It was conveniently located near several great places to eat, yet had a quiet setting around the property. We would stay there again!

I called Mark to book a room while my Dad and I visited our home town of Corinna in Mid-August. He went above and beyond to arrange an accommodation for us that would work as we needed a ground floor room with some handicap accessories. Mark is one amazing person who works hard to make sure his guests are comfortable, safe and well taken care of. Thanks so much for all your assistance.

An amazing bed and breakfast located in Dexter Maine, out of the way but close enough for day trips everywhere. The breakfasts have been restaurant quality and the host has been extremely friendly and helpful. We still have a few more days and we are loving it.

This B&B is in a beautifully restored mansion on a quiet street. Mark, who owns and operates the Inn, truly cares about the experience of his guests and achieves the perfect balance of friendliness without intrusiveness. My husband and I stayed three nights and by the end of the stay we felt so welcome and comfortable that I would not hesitate to return. Our room was full of beautiful antiques and pieces of history related to the house's original owners, but it was spotlessly clean (I am very allergic to dust and had no issues whatsoever). Breakfast was great and timely and Mark's knowledge of the local area is excellent for things like local eateries and places to see.

This is a hidden treasure in middle Maine! We loved the "Game Room" which has wooden walls and ceiling, a fireplace and much more. The Brewster Inn is full of history and can be a destination in and of itself! Mark goes out of his way to accommodate you as you enjoy and explore this unique and well kept Inn.

Best choice for our honeymoon! We had so much fun. The food was PHENOMENAL! And Marc was just a sweetheart. He went out of his way to make sure we knew what to see (attraction wise) and where to dine out. We will be spending our anniversaries there without a doubt.

Very simply put, a great place to stay. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves, with excellent accommodations and first-rate breakfast. Mark, the innkeeper, is obviously very proud of his establishment, and tries his best to make your stay enjoyable.

Stumbled on The Brewster Inn needing a 1 night stay for a family graduation. Couldn't have imagined a place this lovely in this "out of the way" — but now we know, central — part of the state! Mark runs a terrific B and B Inn. Exceptionally clean and welcoming rooms, great to see eco-friendly practices, quiet, elegant, and a knowledgeable and friendly host who can offer loads of "where it's at" ideas, and he makes a delicious breakfast casserole. Would definitely make a return stay when in the area again! Even makes us want to come back to ME to explore more — just to stay here! Thank you, Mark — we're glad you left home.

I contacted The Brewster Inn on a very late and snowy night. Mark immediately returned my phone call and said he could offer me a room even though it was after hours. As soon as I arrived I realized that I was the lucky one to have stumbled upon this PERFECT Inn! My husband and I chose the honeymoon suite and almost made an entire weekend out of it because it was so lovely. We honestly did not want to leave and we can not wait to return! I rate The Brewster Inn a 20 out of 10.

Thank-You Mark for a wonderful experience staying at The Brewster Inn. This was our first experience in an Inn and thoroughly loved it. The rooms are beautiful and offer tranquil sleep as the mattresses are phenomenal as well as the pillows. Dexter is a small town but well worth the drive to visit the town and The Brewster Inn. We stayed here two nights during the month of August 2014. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Attention to detail is seen in every corner of this Inn with many historical items to see.

Our stay at the Brewster Inn was fantastic! Mark greeted us with warmth and sincere generosity. He made us feel completely at home and he shared his knowledge about the area with great suggestions and sites to see. Mark has devoted himself to the restoration of this wonderful historic gem. The decor is very clever and beautifully done. We stayed in the Honeymoon suite and the Game room. Both were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The gardens were just gorgeous too! Breakfast was just amazing. Thank you to Mark for his hard work at breathing life into this wonderful historic home. After staying at the Brewster, I feel like I have a friend to visit in Maine. I will definitely return again in the future.

In Maine for a wedding, and discovered The Brewster. What a beautiful place. Everything perfect, comfort and beauty everywhere you turn, Mark Stephens is just the best. A great host, and now a good friend. He makes sure everything is done right. Our first stay there, now we are returning next summer or fall for a base to tour Maine.

Mark at the Brewster Inn couldn't have been kinder to us. Our stay was not for pleasure but rather to spread my mother's ashes and Mark went above and beyond to give us some joy during this difficult trip. He was even able to brighten the mood with is wonderful British Humor and get me to laugh. I couldn't be more grateful to him and his Inn. The rooms were clean and comfortable as well and his breakfast was delicious.
