Low cost room, but you get what you pay for. Linens are dirty, we found glass in the bed The people who live there have junk piled under their vehicles and outside their rooms. The mattresses are not comfortable at all. Might need a tetnus shot after you leave.

First of all. The couple at the front desk are absolutely sweet and helpful. However, the room was not all that clean. They have people living there that are rather sketchy. If we are not mistaking there was a pregnant woman on the first floor, outside with some man smoking something out of a pipe (not a tobacco pipe) they have broken down cars with jacks under them and tarps. Considering everything. We decided to wing it and go to bed. We had a good nights sleep with no disturbances.

We were issued room 340. Upon arrival we received stink eye from the person in the unit next store (Room 342 — which I think lies here as there were planted flower pots on her patio) when we were only trying to get into the room. Upon entry we had requested non smoking but the room wreaked of smoke and was very mildew/musty smelling. We called the front desk and they sprayed a foul smelling fruity cover up. I then entered the bathroom and it was filthy. Mold, hair and dirty water drops down the side of the tub. Honestly, I'm not even sure it was cleaned. I did take pictures and have posted them. Warning: look elsewhere! The $100 to stay here was not worth it!

Not a very nice motel. Our non smoking room had a stable smoke smell which I suspect wafts through the ventilation system in the whole building. Bedding was not clean. There was hair on the pillows and the top end of the sheets. They were mad at us for putting 4 people in a room with 2 queen beds. We asked for more towels and never got them. One good thing, the price was ok.

If I could give this place a negative star I would. The room that they have given us the ceiling leaked and stained the bed and sheets when I went down to complain the manager told me a leak never hurt noone and was very rude. Reccomend staying far from here.

Rooms were cleaner than expected but wall paper was peeling in several rooms. Not very good air circulation. Some heaters work better than others.

Where do I start? No towels in room. This is NOT a smoke free hotel/inn/motel, what ever you want to call this place; it smells like a smog of cigarettes… and the door would not lock, which is not a problem if you are inside, but we could not leave the room with our belongings in there, thankfully another couple traveled with us so we were able to leave our belongings in their room (they too were extremely disappointed with their stay! ) saved the best for last, called front desk to change bedding in our room, it looked like it had not been changed/soiled because both beds had hair on the them UGH! Never again… bring flip flops, do not walk barefoot. This place houses not just guest, but homeless people as well. I gave 1 star because I had no choice.

I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. If you value a good night's sleep, kind and courteous staff, and a room worth the price then stay anywhere else. Your backseat at a truck stop would be quieter, cleaner and nicer.

Love it here! Reasonable, comfortable and the owners are amazing. No problems with dirty rooms, dirty linen, bedbugs or the rest of the negative reviews. You need to remember that this isn't the Hilton, so stop expecting it to be. Also, if homeless people are living here, then they aren't homeless anymore are they? As for "a good place to sell drugs" I have not come across that situation either. Hallways and doors are closely monitored, which makes this place especially safe.

Terrible place. Beds were hard as a rock. Toilet didn't flush properly. Door lock was falling off. Ice machine was was Broken on 2 of 3 floors. Phone did not work. Windows were disgusting. Couldn't even see through them. Only positive thing was. The staff was very friendly.

Not horrible… I've stayed in much worse for twice the cost. I would stay here again. Attendant is nice compared to other places near here. Maybe not the best place for kids.

Staying here was a complete nightmare. The rooms were filthy and the service of the staff was very disappointing. They were very rude and not professional at all. They kicked us out before check out and turned off our keys. They kicked us out the pool for no apparent reason. The rooms have dust and dirt all over the place and one of the chairs in our rooms had dried blood on it. We requested more towels to take a showers and for the pool and they told us they wouldn't give us any because none were clean and they were for other rooms. Also when we were at the pool WITH CHILDREN UNDER 8 there was a old man starring at our children with his pants half down and told the staff and they did nothing about it. Over all this motel was a complete disaster and I will never recommend any to this motel or will ever be staying here again. Either they need new owners and staff or or needs to be shut down.

I hate to be the one to write a bad review but I have to for the sake of others. I've came to Groton a few times, each time to see my boyfriend who stays near on base for the Navy. I normally do not stay at this motel, but my boyfriend found a deal online that for the weekend the stay would be $200 total for three nights. I arrive, check in went smoothly, the man at the front desk is very polite and I go up to my room. Which was Room 100, non smoking. The room and motel itself were pretty run down, you can tell the place is pretty old but I wasn't going to complain. There were random stains on the furniture, hair in places it shouldn't be, AKA like the fridge. It just didn't seem very clean and the bed was rock hard. I settle down and go to bed (I arrive late because I'm coming from Columbus and the drive is about 11 hours. ) I wake up about two hours later with bites on my face, ears, and neck. I shine my phone flashlight and find BED BUGS. Two live bed bugs. I don't know how many more but I didn't stick around to find out. I call the manager and show him the bed bugs and he offers me another room on the third floor, but I politely decline, just because that set me off and I want to stay somewhere else. He gave me my money back. I just will never consider staying here again. I hate to be the person to write this review but it's an honest review and bed bugs cannot be overlooked. : (

The only good thing about this hotel was that the owners put us in a section away from the homeless people. Room was cleanish if you didn't look to close. Decorated probably in the mid 1980's, probably when the mattress was purchased. Overpowering Lysol smell in the hallways, which were not air conditioned. If the room was not prepaid for we would have left after the first night.

The room we stayed in was beautiful and had lots of space. Everything was perfect, except for the bathroom. Our bathroom light switch was very stubborn and you'd have to play around with it before the light would turn off. Also, the toilet wasn't in it's cleanest state. Other than that though, this place is awesome.

I feel like it would be comfortable for a one night stay. They have a fridge, microwave, spacious rooms and even coffee. And u can exit outside right from your room. Looked moderately clean. However, the cigarette smell is just a killer. No matter what you do the smell does not go away.

If you are looking for rustic charm crack house style this is the place for you.

This place is a shit hole! Rooms were disgusting, the hallway smelled like cat piss and someone left a floater in our toilet. Not to mention the management sucked and didn't want to refund our money. Niantic motel =shit hole!

The woman who checked me in was very friendly and the pool looked nice. The bed was very comfortable, but it was not a clean motel by any standards. We paid extra for a large, jetted tub but I wouldn't have taken a bath in it without cleaning it very well beforehand.

Bed Bugs, dilapidated and near a nuclear Power plant. Best thing to do, run as fast as you can. Bed bugs, completely run-down and in the Evacuation zone of a nuclear power plant, which is for several leaks of radiation known. Run as fast as you can or use directly this distance.

Decent motel at a decent price. My experience was very good and staff were very helpful.

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Hallways reeked of cigarette smoke. When I first got there the electricity was shut off in half my room. Huge… seriously like 3 foot diameter stain on carpet. There were definitely people living permanently in some of the rooms with animals. Disgusting. Don't stay here.

Well the pro's are that it is located right off the highway so easy to get to. The price was very reasonable, especially for just a quick place to spend the night (we did that on our long drive home from RI) and the desk clerks were very nice. The room was unexpectedly large with small refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron/board. The con's were the hallways were very stuffy and smelly (but the room was very cool upon entering). The room showed some wear on it, especially in the bathroom and the shower curtain had some mold on it. All in all, I'd stay again if I was in the area looking for a quick stop-over.

Horrible horrible experience staying at this dirty nasty motel. The tub was stained and dirty. Carpets, walls, hallways, staircase, doors all filthy. Hallways all smell like cigarettes. There is definitely questionable people living there long term. Pretty sure someone was bringing a prostitute to their room… Also was so itchy and covered in bumps either from bug bites/mites/allergic reaction all from the bed… I guess you get what you pay for.

Super nice reasonable rates lovely pool which works (unliked the nearby Motel 6) they let you bring your pet its a family owned business with the nicest people who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The free Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, there is a comfortable desk with a good chair, coffee, microwave, iron and ironing board and other nice amenities in a spacious cozy room. I like ones in the back with a full sliding glass door view towards the pool and lovely scenic woods and surroundings here. The water pressure and hot water is excellent in the shower and tub and bathroom, there is a hairdryer too, and the air conditioning and heat in the room work well, so does the TV I think there is even HBO. Lots of room for luggage (and a rack) some drawers and good hanging space. One of the best values around known mostly to locals so far. And right down the road from one of the most gorgeous public shoreline beaches in Connecticut and quaint seaside town of Niantic. A summer favorite of mine and my dog, Chica :).

I work as the maintenance man at Red Roof Inn, and this hotel is a joke. I was told I can't get a towel so I could take a shower, the "housekeepers" took our shampoo and toilet paper. They refuse to do anything, there's no telephone without paying, even local calls I couldn't do. This place is a joke. I asked for a screwdriver to fix some of the kids toys, got strife about that. We stayed here for over three weeks, had the housekeepers clean the room twice. They got mad when I asked for a vacuum cleaner to do their job. This place is a dump for its location.

The outside looked completely ghetto with people drinking alcohol and smoking outside. It looked like people actually lived at the motel. The pool looked nice, we didn't use it though. The rooms looked comparable to what we paid. The were nice and clean. The shower was quite nice. The a/c worked weird, but got the job done. The walls were thin and we could hear the room overs TV until 3am. We finally banged on the wall and they turned it down. I slept through their TV just fine since I had two prior rotten night sleeps because of our kids and I sleep through everything. The bed is hard and cheap, it's not like we were at some super fancy hotel or anything. For what we paid it was decent.

My husband and I stay at this Niantic Motel very frequently. We are retired and enjoy the area. We have NEVER had a bad experience there. The staff is always helpful, the rooms are always comfortable (maybe they could be a little cleaner) however, each time we stay there, we enjoy it very much. The pool is a great amenity as well. Our theory is, if your polite, others will be polite. We have stayed over 50 times and while, I am sure, there are other more posh hotels, this hotel is great for the value and the staff can be very helpful and nice. If your looking for a Marriott, this is not it (obviously), but my husband and I recommend this motel to anyone for a comfortable and quiet stay.

My husband and I spent the night there. I took him to mohegan sun for his birthday. It was a nice clean hotel, and the staff that we did see was friendly. It was a short distance to the casino. We would definitely stay there again. The price was also right.
