You get exactly what you expect out of this place. Nothing is horribly wrong with it. Just a little old, a little run down. Good location, right downtown. Only saw staff once during my stay. She seemed friendly enough.

Great location, hard beds, old rundown hotel, no vending machines, front desk clerk laying on couch with boyfriend in the evenings and rude.

Great location in downtown Whitefish. I did have a cold shower the first morning which is not pleasant, there was rust and black mold in the bathroom. Good size room, but no vending machines. Decent size TV with cable. Can't beat this location, walking distance to many bars and restaurants.

Decent place, a little pricy for what it is. The outlet sucked, my phone charger fell right out. The Wi-Fi was terrible for being right above here the router was. Convenient place tho.

Staff really not friendly! Hairs in the Bed. Leaky Shower. A single table of 4 people for lunch… not top and really small.

I hate to leave a bad review for any certain place, unless I feel it's necessary. I feel that it is, in this case. And this is an honest and true review. I am not just badmouthing them. My friends found hairs inside their bedding, so they changed rooms, which they also found hair in. So they were given the suite, which had clean bedding, but had dirty silverware and dishes and glasses in the cabinets. Gross. Their hairdryer was also broken. So, I checked the bedding in my room and found two hairs on my sheets. But hair doesn't bother me, unless it's in my food. So, I decided to leave it be. The room smelled like air freshener, but it wasn't too unpleasant. At least it didn't smell bad like my friend's room, which is why I decided to leave it alone. The thing that bothers me most, is that the front desk clerk was very rude to my friends when they were dissatisfied with the cleanliness of their room. If I pay $80 for a room, it better be nice. At least clean. And if it's not clean, the front desk clerk should be gracious and kind in resolving the problem, not rude and offended that you were unsatisfied with the accommodations. Its not our fault that the rooms kept having hairs in them, or that they didn't clean it properly. It's their fault. But the clerk was treating us like it was our fault. The clerk said they should have "lint rolled" the sheets and was surprised that there was hair on there. LINT ROLLED the sheets?! Are you kidding me?!

I am not the kind of person to complain. But this place is terrible. Stains and HAIR in the bed. Bathroom is nasty. We get moved to another room which was nice of them. MORE HAIR in the beds, the room smells so bad they put fresh coffee out on the counter to mask the stench. On top of that the hairdryer attached to the wall didnt work. Sooooo disappointed when I got nothing but attitude from the lady at the counter. Go somewhere else. Not what I expected from downtown Whitefish Mt.

Can't ask for a better location or better hospitality. I always tell my Canadian friends to stay here. A Whitefish Montana Staple, Pure and Simple!

Pros-Cheap place to stay close to whitefish ski area and down town. Great view of the mountain. Basic bagel bar breakfast in the morning. Super basic room for cheap. Discounted lift tickets are available for purchase at desk. Cons — shower drain and sink drain were clogged. It Looked like rooms were just thrown together with mismatched Furniture. Very few outlets for charging your phone. Not a lot of parking.

The Downtowner Inn in the heart of Whitefish Montana is a delightful hotel. I recommend a stay for weekend getaway. You wouldn't be disappointed.

Little older and lacking amenities. Not a lot of spare power outlets. There was an open bag of chips and a rotting orange under the bed, so cleanliness is an issue.

The best part of this hotel is it's location. It's in easy walking distance of downtown Whitefish and the Amtrak Station. There was also two beds in the room. There are a few downsides however. There's no refrigerator or microwave in the rooms, although there's apparently a communal microwave. There was also a lack of nightstand space. There was, however, an open outlet behind it so nothing had to be unplugged to use a phone charger. I also didn't care for the bathroom design, but that may be a lot more subjective. The bathroom itself is just a small area with the toilet and tub. The sink is outside of the bathroom. On a plus side, plenty of counter space there. Due to the fact that I'm usually just passing through Whitefish to catch the train (and typically have food and drinks for that), the lack of refrigerator is personally enough to push me towards other hotels.

You get what you pay for. This place is a little run down — bathroom doors had issues, light in the bathroom took several minutes to get bright — and there's no fridge or microwave in the room. But it's clean and a place to stay that won't break the bank.

The room was exceptionally clean The towel and linen felt new. The chairs in the room were comfortable for a change. Friendly staff. In walking distance to the bar, restaurants, and shopping, in a real nice small town setting. We will be back.

I ordered Lunch for my wife at the Wrap N Roll. Ordering was fast and easy. Our order came up just as they estimated and the food was excellent. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

Parking sucks but rooms are okay. Nothing special.

This hotel isn't the most glamorous of places, but the staff is extremely friendly and the rooms are clean. The convenience of being so close to downtown makes it a great place to stay. The prices are very reasonable and they never up the prices due to high occupancy. All in all a good place to stay.

The location of the Downtowner is pefect, everything is a minutes walk away. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable and staff were very accommodating.

Great location. One block walk to many restaurants and bars. Rooms were ok, very clean though. Good price for the area too. Will stay at again.

The downtowner isn't luxury. It isn't fancy. The walls are thin, the furniture is old, and it has that "been around awhile" smell that old hotels get. But, it is clean, it is roomy, the staff is friendly — and if you stay there you are smack dab within walking distance of all the businesses. This is important if you like to stay in whitefish and party at the Great Northern or the Craggy. :) I paid $65 for two queen beds and a rollaway! For that price I don't expect sound proof rooms and luxury. I got more than I paid for.

Just a couple of blocks from the train/bus station and the brewery, it's in downtown area. Rooms are clean and spacious. The folks at the front desk and on the phone are kind and helpful. There's a free morning bagel bar with coffee, juice, toast, and condiments. Upstairs is a gym and hot tub, both of which I recommend taking advantage of. Winter rates are competitive. I look forward to coming back.
