Well, if you are a perfectionist, or want all of the latest conveniences, you probably wouldn't want to stay here (they do have mini-fridge + microwave). And, forget about being able to recharge all your devices at once (being an older building, there very few easily accessible outlets). But, if you want a place that is clean and comfortable, and the staff nice, then this is a good place to lay your head for the night. While this small (only 12 or so rooms) motel is a bit out dated, it's one if the cleanest places that I've ever stayed at (eby — even before Yelp :-D). The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is the standard Continental affair. Being old school (or, maybe just old, ugh), I was surprised that being an independent place, they didn't have cash discounts. So, to me, the price of $96 seems a bit high to me for a bare-bones place like this. Also, something they do that I wasn't happy to see: they write your c/c and CVV numbers down in case of damage to the room. I just hope they destroy it to where it can't be used. Now, I gotta watch my card more closely.
THE HOTEL: It was VERY clean, the bed was comfy, the owner was very accommodating and nice. Pillows were a little flat, linens and decor are dated but get the job done. Room had a strange smell but once the window was open for a bit, it aired out. Not musky, almost herbal like Sage so it wasn't a big deal. You can hear people walking in the hallway above you. Would I stay here again? Yes, if I just wanted a safe, clean, comfortable place to sleep. Absolutely. THE SURROUNDINGS: If you are expecting a lot of fru-fru things, don't. It's a good place to avoid bad weather or if you are tired and in need of rest. The town doesn't have much for fast food selection so make sure you you have food or bring it from Billings or Livingston. The train will keep you up at night, especially if you have the window open. It's an older building so the walls are not highly insulated or soundproof and you can hear your neighbor if they talk at an elevated volume. quiet? no. This area seems to be a favorite stop over for the Harley riders and when they are parking their bikes outside your window, they will inevitably rev up their engines as loud as they can. That's just them and that is fine… as long as they don't roll in at midnight and do it. So, be expecting it. PRICE: I thought it was a little overpriced for what you get. BUT… for the time of year and the location vs the other hotels within 30 miles, it was a good stay and I didn't mind paying the extra.

This old motel is beautiful and has everything you expect from a hotel. The amenities are better than 3 star hotels. It looks old, may be it is, but the hosts are really nice people. We checked in after midnight and they helped us with everything we need even at that time. The breakfast menu covers everything you expect from a motel.
