July 7th, 2018 If your thing is staying in a place where you can hear people talking all night long among things: book a room in this place! Room plain dirty, smelly and uncomfortable. I was forced to stay there due original hotel overbooking. I have stayed in humble places while serving in the armed forces believe me, this review has nothing to do with price or background. As a matter of fact I choose this place over motel 6 based on reviews. In the morning after a rough night sleep I jumped in the shower just to wrap around a towel that made me feel like showering again. Thus — keep driving! Use an app to find a better hotel near by for the same price. My mistake: arriving after midnight — apps won't let you reserve for previous dates … after midnight. Google wouldn't post without a minimum of 1 start — it does not deserve it. ROOM 131 death trap!

The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Stayed in an accessible room and the only thing I would change is the toilet, would put in a tall toilet. People were very friendly and helpful.

Staff was friendly, but the property is run down and rooms are not well maintained, prepped or cleaned. Basic items were broken or missing. They did have truck parking which was convenient.

Room had a mildew/moldy smell, this is most likely due to the wet spot in front of the bathroom door. Toilet ran all weekend, I was told the handle probably needed to be jiggled. That was not the problem! I asked for more towels and she couldn't understand why I needed more towels even though I repeatedly said we only had 2 towels for 4 people. Just skip this place!

Good deal for last minute booking. The owners at the front desk are really nice. Rooms are good our king size bed is very comfortable. Everything is close for food and gas. Hooters at a walking distance. Nice pool for the kids and adults to hang out. Only con is the see through window anyone and everybody can see in your room and you cant close the curtain. Also I would personally go eat out to eat breakfast unless you just want a coffee, juice, bagel or waffles. Would come back again.

Great room for a great price. Perfect for a nights stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Cheap hotel for a night. Pretty run down but all I needed was a bed. Breakfast was pretty sparse.

The second star is only because they're cheap and dog friendly. After that though, the carpet in our room always peeling, tiles in the bathroom we're broken, the sink was stained a yellow color, and our dog was up most of the night growling and chasing what were either roaches or small rodents, we didn't have the courage to check.

Would be nice if the maids did their job correctly. Rooms are set up nice, just didnt like coming back to the 1 trash can in the room still full, the bed wasn't made, so I know the sheets hadn't been changed, & the bathroom wasn't clean. The breakfast is kinda skimpy but the coffee was Good! They're pet friendly which is good for us; we travel with our 2 pups! But there wasn't much area take them out and do their business.

It has been a wonderful place to sleep very clean the bed is very comfy and clean very nice staff and it's at a wonderful location we had our two service dogs and they welcomed them with open arms no problems which was nice we asked for extra towels and they brought it to us I say if we could we would give them more stars. Thank you for welcoming us and accommodating us we will be back to this spot every other month or so.

The staff member was very friendly and helpful. Our room was disappointing though. It was smelly, the white door was filthy, the curtains looked as if they had been burned. The base boards were falling off. It was nice for our dog, with the outside entrance, but not so nice for us.

Nice hotel nice rooms friendly staff close to fast food would stay there again without a thought.

Good price and decent rooms. Friendly staff. Under beds, walls, and doors need to have a little more attention paid to during cleaning, but were by no means bad. I would stay again, probably the best deal in town. Additionally darker curtains with the ability to close out all visibility from the outside would be appreciated.

We had two rooms. The second room was not bad, but the first one had a very significant mildew or old carpet smell. The second room was pretty decent, but the shower was on the grosser side. Without the plug in, the water did not drain when showering. It wasn't the end of the world for an overnight road trip stay, but I would not have stayed there multiple nights.

I was pleasantly surprised; for $46.00 plus tax, the room was very clean, the bed was quite comfortable, linens were decent and fresh, and the bathtub was nice and roomy. The carpet was clean, and though the room was a smoking room, it actually smelled nice when I walked in. It was very quiet as well. The only small, and I mean tiny issue was a 1 inch by 1/4 inch scratch on the inner surface of the TV screen that created a weird white spot in the middle of the screen. They do offer breakfast from 0600 — 0900 but I skipped it. I would definitely stayy here again. Room was comparable to any of the big name chains like Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn but without the price tag and nicer exterior.

Awesome place to stay! Friendly staff and amazing pet policy! 4 stars because some of the bedsheets had cigarette burn holes.

If I could give negative stars I definitely would give magnuson some. Absolutely horrible. We stopped there for a night after being on the road all day. After being in the room for 30 minutes we decided to leave. We had sketchy people outside walking back and forth as they peeked in our window. I absolutely did not feel safe with having my family there for the night. The only thing separating us from the room next door was a dinky wooden chair. We tried telling the man at front desk about everything but he kept trying to give a "better" room while still trying to charge us more. We asked for a refund but nothing. The manager refuses to give a refund because I changed a diaper in the room. I tried calling multiple times but the manager is never available or they hang up. Definitely not military family friendly. I highly recommend not wasting your money on this place and go to candlewood suites only a few minutes away. They absolutely made us feel at home, great service and they accept pets. Overall just a horrible experience with rude customer service and a dirty hotel room with a rude manager.

It's mostly what I expected for the price. My biggest complaint was the height of the shower. I'm not talk by any means. But it was built for those who are 5 feet tall.

GROSS! If you book a room online to get the best possible rate they will give you the worst room they have available. And that can be pretty bad. The ladies they have working to clean the rooms have no idea what a clean room should look like or how to properly clean a room either. Sheets dirty, stains all over the walls with some that looked like blood… GROSS!

Wonderful staff, had to stay here for quite awhile. Breakfast is pretty good if you wake up early enough before others get to it. The owner is a very nice man, they also allow pets if you're interested.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, although needs a bit updating in our room. My other family members room was very nice. Plumbing needs to be looked into. Over all the experience was good for an overnight stay.

Very conveniently located off the interstate and close to several restaurants. The hotel itself was very quiet and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They ask and honestly care about all aspects of your stay. The continental breakfast was more than I expected. I would stay there again if I'm ever in Texarkana. For the price I paid, I was very pleased.

The price is reasonable at this location, but I will openly state that there is clearly a reason why the prices are so low. To be blunt, this place is easily a decade removed from being even close to well-kept. Overall, nowhere near the worst place that I have ever stayed, but I wouldn't stay here again unless I had no other option. Also, the front desk workers are effectively useless, so plan accordingly as they are of no help. The rooms are reasonably clean and the location doesn't feel especially welcoming or uncomfortable; thus, I can't destroy the place or highly recommend it.

We came at 4am after getting a flat tire on the road, got a decent deal on a room but I understand why it was so cheap. The toilet hardly flushed. The shower head leaked horribly, spraying out of the shower from the wall all over the vanity. The "non-smoking" room smelled heavily like smoke. I woke up with more than half a dozen bug bites. Fleas? Bedbugs? I feel disgusting after that stay. 2 stars because I liked having a fresh waffle in the morning.

The staff is helpful. The hotel itself needs some renovation work. Pet friendly! Nice little sitting area near the pool. The pool itself was closed when we visited which was a little disappointing. Over all it's a convenient location at a cheap price.

Everyone always told me stay at laquinta. Well after my first experience I will never book one again. Pool was nasty, we called office and was told pool was open and clean. It was so nasty it was green. There was a penis pump laying out on the ground, a dirty rag hanging in the tree, and of all things a Bullitt in front of our door. Trash every where. Also requested a bottom floor and was told I couldn't have one even tho I booked a couple of weeks in advance. Was told they had an elevator and they don't. I wish I could put pictures on here!

I booked this room several days before the actual date. I called early the morning that I was to arrive. I asked if there was a certain time to check in. I was told 3pm. At that time I asked could I please have a bottom floor. I told them I would let them go ahead and charge my card. I explained to them that my husband had recently had a heart transplant and it was very hard for him to climb stairs. I was very rudely told we don't guarantee a first floor. It is first come first serve. I asked again could you please try to put me on the bottom. I was rudely told we have you a room on the top floor. We had friends we were meeting here that also had a room booked. If I would not have been driving and had the time to look up another motel I would have cancelled. I thought well maybe they will be nice and considerate and move me to the first floor. Well that didn't happen. I even asked again when I got here. Also my friend had refrigerator and microwave. We didn't. My next trip to Texarkana I assure you will we will not stay at LaQuinta.

My family enjoyed our stay here. Comfortable and cozy. Enjoyed a good breakfast as well.

First room smelled horrible with 3 big stains in the carpet. The was a big smear on the tv. Not clean. Room I was switched to smelled better but still almost couldnt stand it. Had to air it out. The beds are old. The room was so humid. Theres a bug in the bathroom. The tub is dirty. You'd be better off staying at a econolodge for $30-40. You're welcome.

Enjoyed my stay here very much. It's always said a hotels welcome and goodbye can make or break it. Carolyn at the front desk was so friendly and helpful but she wasn't alone. Everyone I spoke to was very welcoming. My room was clean and spacious. Will definitely be staying here again.

The place isn't perfect, however as hotels go it is real close. Good staff, place to walk pups nearby. Don't have to carry pistol on dog walk. Clean clean. TV worked smelled nice. Right down the road from steak house or fast food. Warm n cozy. Yup I will be back.

Very nice staff and although an older hotel, it was clean and comfortable. Access to the hotel is on a poorly lit service road. Turning into the hotel is fine, but coming out is dangerous and can damage your vehicle. The parking lot is also poorly lit and the striping is confusing. Following the striping to exit to the left out of the parking lot, we ran up on an already damaged curb which had an 8 — 10 inch piece of rebar sticking straight up. The rebar tore the undercarriage of our vehicle off and damaged the front wiper system to the tune of approx. $2500.00 plus our $500.00 deductible. When we reported it to the desk clerk we were told La Quinta is not responsible and we would need to contact the city of Texarkana, TX. We documented the area/damage with several photographs and turned it over to our insurance company. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE of the danger lurking in their parking lot and save yourself the hassle and deductible. This incident happened 12-21-2015. Not even an apology from La Quinta.

The rooms were very nice. The Wi-Fi was pretty fast and the TV actually worked. Breakfast was also very good. I liked their service.

It's a pretty good hotel I like it I think my room could have been cleaner but other than that they are pretty good hotel I will suggest people to stay very nice housekeeping employees I think the breakfast could be a little bit better also that's why I rated it at 3 the location is okay I guess 4 people thats traveling Thanks.

Awful place, dirty rooms and prostitutes walking around. Definitely wish we would have stopped sooner! Don't come here, pay the extra $ and go somewhere else.

I wish I can give this place 0 stars I am in the room now and I feel like I am in prison the out side of this place is full of drug addicts and the room is filthy the only reason I got stuck here is because the lady showed me the room from through the office which didn't allow me to see how bad it was down stairs people actually have furniture outside! I am honestly afraid to go out side.

No microwave or fridge. Clean, nice pillows, good beds, and quick check in. And for $47/night makes it a great value.

I was given a room that the toilet previously flooded the room with the fan still drying the carpet. 2nd time is was there they gave me the same room and asked could I have another they said others were booked. So I went back again for a 3rd time same thing happened again the same room and mother rooms available while the parking lot was empty the next morning. Don't go here if your white and look like a cop. Nothing but a totally black racist staff.

The Internet only works sporadically. It will work for 2 minutes then cut out for 2 minutes. Otherwise, the hotel is clean, quite, etc. Breakfast is okay — waffles, cereal, bagels, etc.

It's an older La Quinta, but very well renovated. The room was clean and comfortable. And the staff was extremely nice and very helpful making recommendations about things nearby, such as a dog park for our pet.

I have always read reviews but never written them. Our experience was so bad that I had to share. I was expecting an older motel but one that was at least clean. What I got was a room that smelled like a dirty, wet dog. Not even Fabreeze could help this room which I sprayed on the carpet. We arrived after midnight, dropped my adult daughter off and ran an errand. I would not have stayed here at all once I entered the room but she was asleep when we got back. I slept with my window open on the first floor as dangerous as that sounds but it didn't help. I have always associated the name "La Quinta" with middle of the road motels but not this one. Run, don't walk to ANY other motel in the city. It couldn't be worse than this.

TV had alot of problems and the pictures online are nothing like the actual hotel rooms. Not worth what I paid for.

We too stayed in this hotel because they allow pets. The room was dirty and disgusting. They did not clean the bathroom out because there was hair and bobby pins on the floor, there was dirt all over the bathroom floor, they obviously never wipe it down. What else don't they clean? I woke up with bumps all over my arms and legs, the ones on my arms are bleeding. I have absolutely no allergies, and do not have sensitive skin. This place is disgusting. I will be wearing flip flops in the shower, and making sure I wash my sons hands before we leave.
