I really need a place to stay and the front desk people on all shifts was help and polite. Room was clean and when I had a small issue they was there on point. Didn't get to use the pool it was green. Other than that breakfast was okay.

So here was the experience… 1. Check in: was asked to wait as they were in the middle of a shift change. So red flag, not enough staff. 2. Asked for id for every person over the age of 21. Not sure what that was about. I didn't comply. 3. In the room: a. No smoke detector b. No phone c. No working light in bathroom d. Mold around tub 4. Grounds: lack of overall maintenance. Great place for a drug deal.

Stayed 2 nights in a row. Staff was nice and courteous. I didn't see any bugs thank God. The room was big and the bathroom was huge. There was standing water in the tub when I got there. Housekeeping did nothing the morning after my first stay. They dropped towels on the dresser. Over all it was OK but could have been a little better.

I stayed in a suite with friends and it was great. The suite had a large living room and bedroom and the bathroom was an average size but well lit with a mirrored wall and a heating lamp, which I loved because air conditioning is too cold when getting out of the shower. The kitchenette was small but had everything we needed to make our stay more affordable by eating in.

This place I do not recommend for many reasons. I had some safety concerns. Rooms are prehistoric and dirty. The positive interaction was the staff who were helpful, nice and understanding. I left within 20 min. Of check in.

Price is ok but bring your own cleaning supplies. Rooms aren't cleaned very well and I ended up having to clean it myself. No bugs in the room that I noticed.

Loved it! Room was great for the price, the staff we dealt with was great and courteous! The only complaint we have was how loud the traffic was — BUT — the hotel has no control over that! We would recommend this hotel to others. We went there to gamble and this hotel was within a central area so we could not only gamble but enjoy shopping, great food, & some massages-manni/pedi's!

We are from San Antonio and stayed here for my birthday weekend… This place was awesome… Really liked it here… Will come back next time. Friendly service… Thank you so much… Had a great stay…

Rooms were very old and outdated, place looks like a renovated Apartments Complex, hotel check in was 4pm, the room wasn't ready, horrible. Others were also waiting in the lobby for a room.

I would not stay here. Charged $240 to a credit card then refuses to refund it and apparently no management at hotel can explain charges or even remotely take care of the charge. Staff is rude to the point of hanging up and saying call back when management is there on Monday. I don’t know about you but $240 being charged when the whole night was $98! Oh and they got that too! I’m smacking my head because a little customer service would have went a long way in this situation.
But they are sure good at hanging up the phone. Real overachievers.

Yuck! Disrepair. Dirty. (Not housekeeping). Sliding doors won't hardly open. Employees seemed ok. Sink in bathroom wouldn't drain. Tub was stained and water under the mat when we stepped on it. $50 non-refundable pet fee when the place was so gross how could they tell. Non-smoking room smelled like smoke HORRIBLY and a can outside the door with cigarette butts in it. No cups for coffee. Only plastic. Out of coffee cups. Wall unit corroded in bedroom and no actual thermostat. No chain on the door. Remote in the bedroom won't turn the TV off/on. Bed and pillow comfortable. Won't ever stay again! Will review on as many platforms as I can to say the same.

This is the worst motel/hotel I have ever stayed at! We had to change rooms because the first room was so disgusting that we were going to just ask for our money back and go somewhere else. Then suddenly they had a new room open up in the somewhat renovated section, which was not too much better, but it was just clean enough for my wife and I to stay. I will not stay here again and I'll be sure to tell everyone not to stay there either.

For supposed to be an upper-class motel this was a sweet three of the nightstand lamps in the bedroom none worked I did find extension cords in the room and made them work there was one washcloth one hand towel no shower curtain maintenance man brought me a curtain and expect me to put it up and I told him I don’t work for the motel he said I don’t work for housekeeping I told him to call the clerk and have her come do it he went ahead and did it and I could not get to the wall units to work for the heat And air when I ask him about it he show me the service that beside the TV that operated both of them no one told me that.

Wouldn't ever in my life will I recommend anyone to work here All the older folks are messy while the young ones actually does their job.

First room we stayed In was filthy! The bathtub was black with dirt and the bathroom light fixture was broken and light covering was propped against the counter.
We reported it to the desk clerk and she was really apologetic and upgraded us to a non smoking suite. The suite appeared clean and well put together, however the sheets were dirty and stained. We requested clean sheets and blankets. … They complied with our request, but apparently they do not believe in cleaning. We. And In from our day of sight seeing and slots at the Isle of Capris Casino, to a filthy bathroom and sitting room. I won’t be staying here again!

The ladies at the front desk was super sweet and helped us out. Only cons were building A smelling like cigarettes, the pool was green and nasty looking and last was the rooms are outdated but over all the beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Also housekeeping was great too, my 3 year old got sick in the middle of the night and threw up and the ladies were so kind. Thank you for everything.

When coming here your expectations should be really low. Very low as to not be disappointed, really this place from the outside looks like an apartment complex, without the security guard. It's kinda of dark and hard to find the room's number. I was housed in Building C, the stairwell was not to heaven but to this dark, musky smelly place. The room was really dated and carpet was stained in multiple places.

It's a very nice place. My wife and I stay on a regular basis and we really enjoy it. It was her birthday the 24th of February. And I rented for 2 nites. They have a bubbling hot tub in the bathroom which is inside the bedroom and a full size kitchen with a living room & it's separated from the bedroom. The room was very nice & the suites are very large. We even had a fireplace in the living room area This was a very romantic event for my wife. She loved it❤️‍❤️‍‍

Let’s start with this… this was my first time booking a hotel online. I was worried too death. There were some not so great reviews about the customer service which when I called to confirm my reservation I found that to be WRONG. Which made me question every bad review… wasn’t that many bad ones. Cons of this establishment: — outdated which makes it look dirty despite the fact when you walk in you can smell cleaners. — needs some remodeling when faced with plumbing and carpet in some rooms by plumbing I mean 2 of our 4 rooms had leaking tubs which made them seem dirty bc it left a stain. — curb appeal needs some work makes it look sketchy — Wi-Fi needs some help it just isn’t strong in building C Those are the only things I found wrong with this place. Now this isn’t a place I’d recommend for a romantic getaway, but for a one night stay for a Youth event like we had or even a few days on business I’d say it is safe. Would I come back? Yes, especially if when the issues are addressed. Overall for rooms, breakfast, cleanliness, price, etc Id rate it 2 — 2.5. Best part of our stay? The customer service! Hands down the most pleasant and polite ladies you could meet! They went above and beyond what we could ever ask. Being that we do a lot with Youth functions and staying in hotels have become a regular occurrence… it’s hard to find good let alone just decent customer service without someone catching an attitude.

Terrible place. Do not recommend. Stayed here while working in the area. I would shower when I get home from work and the tub would drain so slow it would still have water in it the next morning when I got up to go to work. Told them about this and their exact response was "all of them do that". Would never consider staying here again.

Only stayed one night, I drive a tractor/trailer combo. They have parking but it isn't the easiest to get in and out of. Hit breakfast. Rooms are decent for price.

1. As soon as you walk the halls the carpet has stains everywhere. 2. You go in the room and the ac unit control don’t work. 3. The flood in the room is stained up spots. 4. The ceiling has a crack in it and water spot. 5. The restroom towels had hair all on it not 1 peice but a batch of hair all on it. 6. The tub Was not a good tub it needs to be replaced. 7. The bedsheets had brownish spot stains. The funny part was in the room it has a paper saying no smoking $250.00 will be deducted from your credit card lol. They should be giving rooms out not charging. It also took 40 mins. To check in 12/23/2017

The employees were very polite and helpful. The bed was comfortable and it was nicely equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot. The breakfast was good. However, the maid service was mediocre due to the fact that there were still some left behind items in the room and refrigerator from previous guests and they lacked good security… our vehicle was broken into on our last night. If I were to recommend an improvement for the hotel being that it is not located in the best part of town… They need more cameras and definitely an overnight security guard.

I would give this rathole a 0 if I could. Absolute nightmare with the staff. Rude, incompetent and ignorant to any kind of customer service. The parking lot is home to a host of drug dealers and prostitutes. This place is not shady, it's downright dangerous. On top of that, the rooms are filthy, the carpeting has holes and the bathroom floor was riddled with urine when I walked in. You can't expect much for $80 a night but, I've stayed in thousands of hotels across the US in the last 30 years, and this was by some measure the worst experience that I've had.

4 star in this price range… older hotel but was probably higher end in it's day judging from some of the styling features. Room was a suite (maybe they all are or I just got a free upgrade) full size fridge. No stove but strangely a dishwasher. Sheets felt very clean. Large flat screen tv. I think the people giving 1 star are expecting the Hilton on a motel 6 budget.

This place is disgusting. The floors are dirty I'm scared to take my socks off. Two of the three lamps did not have light bulbs. The bathtub is stained at the bottom and there are water rust stains going down the side of the tub because the water is leaking. The toilet is nasty then it was stopped up called the front desk twice about it (from our cell phones because the room phone don't work) they said they don't have anyone who could come fix it and they can't give us another room. I honestly would not stay here again.

Photos don't do this place justice, much nicer than anticipated. Beds were great. Service is exceptional! Will defiantly stay here again.

Decent prices. Quick, easy access to I-10. Wal-Mart within 1.5 miles. Good sized mini fridge. Reminiscent of a college dorm.

Great hotel. Don't believe all the reviews. Booked 2 rooms, 1 with 2 queen beds and 1 with king bed. Arrive on July 24 and checked out July 26. Desk clerk was very polite in helping us checking in. Yes we arrived early than the 3:00 check in. They even let us get our rooms. But listen to this, they didn't have no more king bed rooms available. They gave me a suite with a king bed. Rooms where nice, air was blowing cold in the suite and the 2 queen bed room. The breakfast was very nice. My first time making waffles. The other 2 guest enjoyed the breakfast also. We liked the hotel because it was interior hallway, the hotel have different section. We enjoyed the balcony. The staff was very good. Will stay here again when we're in lake cjales.

We checked in and immediately checked out to go stay down the street at the Comfort Suites. Rooms were filthy (actual dirty footprints in the bathtub, bag of trash on the balcony) with odd holes in the walls and bare box springs? The hallways smelled like cigarettes. There were huge bags of trash just piled in the hall. There was also barely any lighting in the stairways, which was a definite safety hazard for one member of our family. There were folks just hanging out drinking in the parking lot, I assume drug dealers waiting on customers. Not a nice place at all. I am giving two stars, though, since they refunded me without any hassle. The lady down the street at the Comfort Suites said they get people who initially booked at the Richmond all the time.

My experience at the Richmond Suites was lovely. The room had an A/C unit that sounded more like a Harley with no muffler, which was pretty cool. The bathtub faucet wouldn't turn off, so the dripping made noise all night… but the loud A/C unit covered it up nicely. The room felt like it was rent-by-the-hour, and our neighbors certainly treated them that way by the sound of it. The curtain to the window wouldn't close all the way, but at least it faced the pool, which was pleasant. I think I witnessed a drug deal going down by that very pool, but fortunately, I didn't need any. Nice place.

Returned home from a Red Hat Sister event this weekend. Although the buildings are under renovation we were very pleased with our accommodations. The room was in good repair and very clean. All the amenities were in the room (microwave, coffee pot, refrigerator, iron, hair dryer etc) and in working condition. One could not ask for a more accommodating staff from the moment we checked in, throughout the stay and on checkout. It is very hard for me to understand the negative comments posted here. Perhaps in the past, this facility is under new management, but as of this weekend everything was great and I would return to Lake Charles and stay here.

Was not very pleased with this place. I didn't care about it being old if it was clean. Room was dirty. Trash in corners, spider webs, dirty mirrors and toilet. Asked housekeeping to clean mirror and she smudged it more. There were stains on carpet and chairs. The fridge didn't work and during our stay, the a/c went out. I didn't want to cut on lights in room because of bugs in covers. I just used table lamps. Didn't switch hotels because the week we were there, there was a big event and the hotel prices had gone up tremendously. The good thing is staff was nice and tried to address our concerns. I would not stay here again.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! If I could give negative stars I would! Booked on Orbit which showed 2.7 — 3 stars. Decent enough for a nights sleep. Apparently Louisiana is not very pet friendly. Website says they are and they charge a $25pet fee. Get there they stated they raised it to $50. Ok fine. No suites for pet owners. Cleaning ladies were smoking while 'cleaning'. Water stains on floor, ceiling, lamp shades. Black mold in the ceiling. Fire burns coming out of the plug-ins, on the phone and chair. Bathtub had leaky faucet and so disgusting no way I was going to get in there plus has cock roaches and the freezer had pink ice frozen at the bottom. Still just one night just sleep with clothes on, on top of the bed. 11pm parking lot party begins with drinking and loud music. That did it. Packed our crap headed for office. Would not refund me. Told me to talk to Orbits. Then lady states that 4 or 5 other people complained about the party but whatever. She laughs at me as I'm leaving.

There are no bed bugs like the previous posts. It's very clean. The cleaning staff is super friendly and even spends her own money to get the supplies she needs to get the job done right. The pool was clean. A very big nice pool, but they do allow alcohol out here which leads to loud mouths that cuss and carry on. Night swimming wasn't something enjoyable for our kids, or us. The hot tub is nice also! The kitchen was fully stocked with plates and cups but no silverware. (I bought all paper and plastic anyways-I don't like doing dishes lol. But as far as people saying bugs, nasty, rude staff… that's all not true. Very clean place. Now, it's older and could use some updating but it fit exactly what we needed it to.

This is the WORST place my boyfriend and I have ever stayed at. First we got there a 3pm and had to wait 45 minutes because the room wasn't clean. When we get into the room it was completely outdated including a box TV, the chairs were filthy, the sheets and blankets looked like they had been used for the last 5 years, the patio door wouldn't lock, the toliet wouldn't flush and when we called management they sent someone to "fix it" still didn't work so we had to pour 8 cups of water in it everytime we went to the bathroom. Then we called to have the room cleaned came back 7 hours later and the maid left our damn door open and didn't even make the beds or change the sheets she only gave us new towels we were like WTF, we called management and all they said was sorry we were furious. Then we get out of the shower and there was 2 huge roaches crawling on the floor. They bragged about the restaurant/bar they have on the property so we went and had to beg to be served the lady walked by us 6 times and completely ignored us and we were the only people in there. Do not stay here ever. You're better of sleeping in your car. I have no idea how this place it still in business. If I could give negative stars I would this place is horrible.

This hotel was the worst hotel I have ever been in. How it got anything above 1 star can only be because that person is used to worst. Demand to stay in building e. That is the best kept building. All others are out of luck Wi-Fi is terrible. To say the rooms are dated is an under statement. The TV was an old box tv. The ceiling was peeling, so were the walls the furniture stained so was the carpet. I had to wipe down everything because the surfaces were sticky. If you are given this option just sleep in your car and use Mc donalds Wi-Fi. It would be better than paying someone any amount of money for this place.

Never again, the lady at the front desk when we arrived Friday night had zero customer service skills, we got woken up at 5:30am on Saturday by people yelling and cussing at each other looks like a place for prostitution and drug dealing, definitely not a place for a family… we had 2 rooms and they both were nasty looks like the hadn't been cleaned ever just made up but not cleaned… yukkk. I see why it says no refunds… couldnt wait to get out of there. I turned in my keys around 7am on Sunday the lady was sweet at least she spoke and smiled. I should've read the reviews before agreeing with Expedia… lesson learned.

Worst hotel experience ever! If I could give it 0 stars, I would. This hotel needs to be condemned. Do not be fooled by the clean check in lobby. Management and owners should be sued for the way they do business. Do not waste your money with this establishment. I will be calling the health department and the city of Lake Charles as soon as I complete this review!

While reading the reviews, I was a bit nervous about staying here because some people were saying negative things about this place. But THEY ARE WRONG! Richmond Hotel & Suites is AMAZING! My Husband & our 2 daughters (ages 2 years & 10 months old) are staying here for a few months. The Front Desk & Management are very helpful & courteous. But most of all, House Keeping is awesome! Every person that I have met coming to clean our suite has been so nice & helpful. I am blown away by their kindness & helpfulness! Secondly, the rooms are very clean. Unlike most other hotels, I don't have any fear letting my babies crawl around on the floor & playing. I usually spray everything down with a Clorox cleaner, especially the bathrooms, when we first get into our room. But when we checked into our room here, it was spotless & squeaky clean. The only negative thing I have to say about Richmond is that the rooms with a stove do not have a balcony/patio. We wanted a balcony, so we chose the room with the Microwave, full size fridge & sink but no Stove. We went to Walmart & bought a Convection Oven & put it on the counter & it works just as good. By the way, the Balcony & Patios are HUGE. Our suite has 2 balconys. One sliding door in the living room & one in the bedroom. It's so nice to be able to sit outside with the kids, (without having to go down to the parking lot) and actually have a huge space on balcony for them to play with toys & have chairs as well.

This should be x rated for no one to ever use. It's a joke Crack hotel. Bugs, stinks on hot wire needs to see this. State should shut down.

Located right off i10, but right next to a gas station littered with drug dealers and prostitutes. Saw several people check in and none had the same rate, not even when using the same site. Not nearly the 2 1/2 star rating it's given. No security; nothing required to get in the building, might as well be a motel. The 3 motels nearby all looked better and safer. The toilet in my room barely worked, had to use the publicly available one in the lobby. TV is a 1995 crt, made watching TV unbearable.

Stayed here last night for the first time and never ever again will I come back here. All I going to say is this Hotel need alot of updating on every thing. Need to be cleaned better than what the hell is going on now. The bed bugs is outta control all over the room. Nasty They need to be reported to the city really do.

Horrible! cockroaches! Broken door, cleaning services did not show up in two days to provide towels or coffee. When asked rude staff told us to go pick up from the front office if needed… Expedia advertised as 2.5 star, should be less than 1 star. Will never stay. Worst hotel experience in my life.

Came down here for work at the airport for a couple months, first room — currently still in — was suppose to be non-smoking and clean. Complete lie, it smells horrible no room service even after signing a waver stating it has to be cleaned. We have been trying to get moved since we arrived on the 16th and the front desk is absolutely rude no help what so ever in trying to help me and a colleague move … we are currently looking for other extended stay sources in and / or around the airport … My colleagues and myself are shocked that customer service is so disrespectful and for a group our size and paying in advance you'd think this place would have some affirmative action in correcting this situation…

Less that one but that is not an option. Very dirty and there was bugs! We travel all across the US with our dogs did not want a them to touch the floor horrible! But it was late we made reservations on road because we were not going to make our destination. Wish we would have kept driving! Horrible.

Hotel is pretty good for the price. Front desk, very professional. total down side. Free Wi-Fi, it should be free, it doesn't work. Answer, sorry sir it's an old system. Not the right answer. correct answer should be, we are getting it upgraded, said nobodyever. Just read some earlier reviews, Wi-Fi not working for over 4 months now. 4 months that's ample time to upgrade the system. I guess it will never work.

It was very clean, very modern, the service WaS awesome anf they were very professional.

Great for the price. Very clean, the front desk is American owned, extremely professional and happy to help. I would stay here a 1000 times over. Only thing that was lacking was the breakfast but you get what you paid for. If I paid 100$ a night then I would be expecting a much better breakfast.

This place is ridiculous. The 1st room we were put in: refrigerator, microwave, outlets, most lights, and phone did not work. Then the room next to us was having a party pass midnight. We placed a noise complaint, sadly, it was not controlled after 20 minutes of our complaint. Infact, the room ended up proping their door open so it got louder. However, the staff was very professional and allowed us to get a different room. Unfortunately, I feel like I wasted my money. I would not stay here again.

Staff very rude, Wi-Fi not work and they know about it. No recomend stay there.

Hubby and I enjoyed our stay here. It was close to everything we needed, bank, stores etc. When we checked in it was late in the evening and we had to change rooms twice but the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. Sadly we didn't get a chance to try their free breakfast cause we woke up too late. We will definitely return here.

Very displeased with this place. After finding crumbs and hair in the bed. We were told that when a customer checks out, if the bed doesnt look like its been slept in then they dont change the sheets or comforter! What! How unsanitary is that! Although the manager apologized nothing was done to compensate for it. Just totally grossed out! But on a good note, the lady at the front desk was very nice.

Horrible, cockroaches, and bed bugs. Bedding not changed, rude staff, will never stay there again.

Room had bed bugs, we got another room, they were worse in that one. We got a refund.

It's very quiet and right off the interstate. Beautiful property and love the staff.
