Stayed overnight, upon returning home notice my car was scratched. I contacted general manager Kawanda and told her my concern that my car was hit during my stay. She confirm they had cameras and would review it and get back with me that day. It has been three weeks since my stay there and over 10 calls/messages left for Kawanda and she hasn’t returned my call. Quite disappointing, as far my stay we arrived to a dirty room, carpet dirty and bathroom has hair all over the floor. Informed service desk, she immediately responded very professional (wasn’t Kawanda) and moved us to another room, which was clean. We complimented the staff for her immediate response and enjoyed the stay. So I was very surprise that leadership would behave in this manner of not returning my calls or addressing my concern, due to the service worker being so professional.

Cute hotel. In a great area. Close enough to the casinos, bars and shopping. Parking is an issue.

Staff was very friendly hotel had a nice smell and was clean for the most part rooms are nice other than regular wear and tear which is to be expected overall for the location and price I’d give her the eight out of 10.
They also worked with me on their pet policy, I have a 10-year-old 105 pound American pit and with a little talking and convincing, showing them that he is trained and all around a good dog they allowed me to stay with him for a $15 fee which is more than acceptable. They do allow one dog per room but it can’t be any bigger than 50 pounds. Being that my dog is more than double that, I was very happy that they worked with me. I would’ve been stuck in a dump somewhere if not.
I couldn’t say enough about the staff though they were more than helpful and friendly the guy at the front desk help me out with my questions and even came up to my room to look at my AC controller when I couldn’t figure it out and called wound up being there with you at all I just didn’t know how to work it. Lol.

Check-in was a breeze. Staff was very helpful. Overall experience was good. If I'm in town again, will stay here for sure.

Not a bad place at all. I work for the airlines so I stay there every once in a wile. I enjoy it. I love the bathroom. Very nice and spacious and modern. Something I do like. If I did come to BTR for personal, I would stay there, absolutely.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are a little small, but very clean. The staff is so friendly, and helpful. The breakfast bar opens at 6:30 every morning. I was disappointed that they didn't have regular, unsweetened coffee creamer. They ran out on the first day of my week long stay, and never put more out. They only have valet parking, which costs $16 a day. In the front lobby they have a small store where you can purchase snacks, like chips, candy, microwaveable dinners and soup. They also have free bottled water there, in a mini fridge. Each room has it's own microwave, and mini fridge also. Lots of places to eat, or visit within walking distance. Waitr will also deliver straight to your room!

Hotel is located in downtown area near a lot of attractions and restaurants. Hotel is clean and valet parking is quick. Room is comfortable and clean. Would recommend for overnight guests.

The hotel is great for the price and modern. No complaints other than some of the linens are dingy and had old stains on them. But otherwise a great, friendly, and for the most part clean hotel.

The room I was put in was a little on the small side, but comfortable none the less. The staff was great, the location was great, and if I needed to stay I Downtown BR, I would totally choose this place again!

So many problems, mostly small, but they added up. Biggest: web site says no fee for pets, we called and were told no fee for pets. Get there, and were charged $15 for pet! Not much, but still not good business policy to lie to customers. There is also a $16 fee for valet parking, but that is stated on web site. Get to room after long day of driving, and fridge doesn't work. Lady at front desk was very nice and moved us to another room, but we were exhausted and had to move all the luggage, the dog and dog crate again. Free breakfast was ok, cinnamon buns rock hard though. And no luggage cart to be found. My husband had to carry the dog crate from the 3rd floor. And our bill wasn't right — had to get that straightened out. Don't stay here. Not worth the advertised low price. And be aware, most restaurants in the downtown area aren't open for dinner except on weekends.

The service was poor and the AC in the room did not cool. As a rewards memeber the bill was not placed under the door for quick check out. This caused a delay while attempting to checkout. I will stay in Port Allen next time and save the parking fee.

Great service and wonderful breakfast! The room was pretty small and they've replaced the bathroom doors with sliding doors that don't seal shut, so there's no privacy. Not ok for me.

The bathroom had a sliding door that didn't fully close nor did it lock. No fan in the bathroom either. The breakfast was decent and staff was nice. Valet parking is $16 but can be free if you get it included with your room. Beds we're nice, room was clean.

Staff here were amazing, front desk lady Daisia was very friendly on check in and had a really great experience with the valet. Rooms are nicely decorated, and the bedding is very nice. Internet was blazing fast. Traveled for work and would recommend.

The toilet in my room was disgusting at the time of check in. It was stained with a ring and had hair on it. Guest services offered a new room because it was late and no one from housekeeping was available. We did not want to move, so guest services sent up a container of Clorox wipes. The bathroom floor was filthy. My toddler had water all over the floor from his shower and I wiped the floor with the bath mat and the mat was gray when I finished. Two mornings in a row I went down to the breakfast area for coffee and had to wait 7 minutes one morning and finally just left without it the next. I was in town for a conference and didn't want to be late. I should've been loyal to my other brand. I was disappointed to say the least.

This is the best downtown hotel ever! The staff aren't pushy like those others where the valet and bellman bark orders at you and make you feel stressed. We called down to say we didnt think the ac was working and within 3 minutes someone was at the room door and within 8 minutes an actual maintenance person arrived! Pet friendly! Highly recommended!

Valet was horrible. I was advised to call valet 20 ins before I needed my car and it would be outside ready. Once I made it downstairs they still had to find my car which took another 20 mins. They also had the nerve to charge my card $16 for valet parking. No one explained that of course. The lady checking me out was in a daze and didn't realize I was standing there. Love the room, hate the service.

I would say it was a 10 out of 10 as everyone was friendly and helpful and place was clean and well kept.

They have really transported this old building into something nice. The rooms were surprisingly large. Very clean. Courteous staff.

Full disclosure: I'm posting on behalf of my parents who stayed here. We come to Baton Rouge every year for Spanishtown Ball. Last year, my husband and I stayed at this location and we had a decent time, despite the valet taking an extremely long time to fetch our car (read my previous post). This year, we opted to stay at the Hilton because we have had wonderful experiences there in the past. My parents and my aunt and uncle chose to stay at the Holiday Inn. They reported issues with their rooms — we walked upstairs and my dad attempted to call down to fetch his car and the phone didn't work… my aunt and uncle's television didn't work, so they had to call down to get it fixed, things like that. Once my dad got through to the front desk so he could get in touch with the valet (called via his personal cell), we headed downstairs to wait for the car. My dad walks with a cane so he has a few issues with his mobility, but he decided to go outside and sit on the bench and wait for the car. I heard my mom gasp and looked up, and she told me that he looked as if he slipped and almost fell. He caught himself in time, and proceeded to sit on the bench. After about 20 minutes of waiting for the car, we all decided to walk outside and wait next to my dad. As my husband was walking outside, his feet slipped out from under him and he slammed into the ground onto his hip. Luckily, he was also holding a soft cooler, and his elbow/top half of his body landed on that.

It was ok I guess. Nothing impressive. Not happy with the cleaning crew. The shampoo bottle was put back even if it was used almost completely. They didnt put enough towels either.

Professional staff, clean rooms, convenient downtown location.

Nice clean hotel in an excellent location. I've stayed here a couple of times and would recommend it to anyone.

Really nice hotel in a old building but totally refurbished. The building was once a bank and there are some cool artifacts in the lobby that pay homage to the cities past.

Nice clean hotel. Very good rate considering the location. Was a bit noisy (could hear things in both adjoining rooms) but not too disturbing. Only complaints were valet wait time. Waited over 45 minutes after asking for our car. Several others came and went and we had to ask several times. Also need to put some slip strips outside on the floor by the valet stand. My husband and I both slipped. Luckily I was the only who that actually fell.

I really enjoyed my stay. Clean, cool (although my a/c kept shutting off in the middle of the night, I didn't notice. I bring a high velocity fan everywhere I go) and very friendly and accommodating staff.

Stay Here! Not at Baton Rouge South! I promise its worth a few minutes extra drive! Do not book Baton Rouge South! I did and booked at $84.07 per night. I was charged $97 and change plus fees per night instead. ($25+ dollars more than two weeks previous when I booked them) I was told upon checkout that the manager wasn't available but would make correction due to me showing my cell phone with reservation. This did not happen,. A guy named Jeremy called me and was rude and argumentative about the whole thing. My issue still IS NOT resolved! I was going to book this hotel every other week for 4 days at a time but I will not be deceived and overcharged. I work hard for my money and spend a lot of time away from my family to work in Baton Rouge. Its pointless to sign up for IHG Rewards Club. However, Wyngate on Blue Bonnett Blvd around the corner is $75/night and is a major upgrade, My bosses that stayed there while in town were glad they didn't listen to me when I suggested Holiday Inn Baton Rouge South!

The staff is friendly ang the rooms are clean. The breakfast is good but the pancake machine is awesome!

I've not been to a Holiday Inn express and had a bad stay. This one falls right in like with the rest. Friendly staff. Clean, updated rooms. Free breakfast that includes pancakes, eggs, oatmeal, breakfast meats, fresh fruit and more. Parking is lacking, but it's to be expected in downtown. Five stars all the way.

We were in a very noisy corner room right on the road with a thick curtain over an old door. Music was loud in the lobby and played into the night. Hotel was clean with great staff and nice breakfast but also had some issues.

Excellent hotel. Nice pancake machine on the breakfast bar. The complimentary shuttle is convenient for nearby destinations.

The holiday Inn express is in the heart of downtown. It's newly renovated and the rooms are very nice. If you get a room with two queen size beds the bathroom will have a tub shower. If you get a room with a king bed the shower is a walk in with no tub. The breakfast is great for hotel breakfast standards. This is the second time I've stayed here and would definitely come back when I come back to Baton Rouge.

Our reservation was made with early-check in. Before arriving at the hotel I called at 9:25am confirming our early check-in. Everything was set and we were guaranteed our early-check in. We ended up getting to the hotel at 3pm which is normal check-in time. However, they had 5 other groups in the lobby and ZERO rooms ready. They could not tell us when our rooms would be ready. The only advice they could give is that we could wait in the lobby for our names to be called. We had plans at 4pm and an event to attend to all night. They did not offer to take our belongings and hold them. We ended up canceling our reservations along with another party in the lobby. We ended up paying a higher rate at a very very nice and accommodating hotel down the street. Also to add to the troubles, there were no available valet parking spots even though this is the only parking the hotel offers. Upon canceling, I was told that I should be expecting a call from the manager concerning my stay and never received a call. Very very poor management.

The rooms themselves are very nice, if a little small. I love the styling of the bathroom and the barn-door style shower door is a very cool detail! The staff has been great as well. The only reason for 4 stars is that on the first floor at 1am I could hear a group of people who seemed to be hanging out right outside my window. They didn't start long enough for me to mention it to anyone, it was just a bit worrisome. I'll be staying the test of this week (it's only Tuesday) so I expect everything to be fine. Another thing to mention us that parking is a little difficult. Valet Only, means you always have to pay to park (unless you have certain corporate rates) but there are spaces to pull right up to the front door and the service even late at night has been swift and pleasant. I definitely recommend this hotel!

Came for Bayou Country Superfest and it was perfect! Close to the stadium, fantastic staff service, and free parking. Can't beat the price, location, and quality!

Great location, newly remodeled boutique rooms. Rooms are nicely decorated, bathroom very species, The rooms where nice and clean. Great location and convenient to downtown, friendly staff and great way to start day with full breakfast bar. Would definitely stay there again!

The service was excellent! The decor was beautiful and the rooms were wonderful.

I understand they recently reopened so this could be why our time was so horrible. The hotel is real nice however that's the only nice thing I can say about our stay other than we were able to check in hour earlier. We checkin the hotel and immediately notified the front desk the air wasn't working. Two hours later, we told them no one came to fix it. We left at 6pm to attend a ball and told front desk the third time. He acted like he was calling maintenance but when we arrived in our booked hotel at 3am it still wasn't fixed. We contacted the front desk. The guy was really rude and told us there was nothing they could do because it was booked and maintenance guy is gone for night. Few minutes later, he called back and told us he found an available room to leave our stuff in room and just use that room to sleep. We got the key, went up three floors in my gown, walked in to people sleeping at 3 in the morning! … Scared the cap out of them. Embarrass me to death! So, we went back to our room and sweated all night. After a rough night I was looking forward to breakfast but they didn't plan a booked hotel that anyone would want breakfast. There was no food! After hoping they would bring something out, I left hungry 25 minutes later. To top off the experience, yet again, they didn't plan to accommodation accordingly with valet service. We waited 1hr 20 min. To get our car. They skipped us. So unorganized! I believe the staff is to green to properly handle customer service.

New facility. Very clean, and the staff is great. Really walkable from downtown Baton Rouge. Would definitely recommend for an easy weekend trip.

The rooms are small but nicely appointed. The bathroom was spacious and very nice. Community Coffee in the room is a big plus!
