It was nice first time there waiter was nice enjoy myself.

Requested 2 rooms both non smoking only got 1 non smoking that smelled like smoke the other room was a smoking room and smelling of smoke. Requested room change but were told there was nothing available. Room 1 bathtub was filled with water, Light bulbs the bed was out.

Absolutely TERRIBLE! I bought 5 rooms on Expedia and they somehow lose it and I have the paperwork showing that I own the rooms for the night and have paid and the manager said, “oh well, you have to pay for new ones” and literally not another word just looks me in the face. I’m on a work trip so it’s not like I can just say screw it and leave. Also I buy my *non smoking* ALL NEW room (along with the other 4) and when I walk into it it smells like the biggest moldy ash tray you could have imagined… the room is wet from the AC so bad that the sheets are damp… the room has obviously been smoked in for a very long time… don’t book here! You’ll regret it, I’ve never had a candlewood fail me until today. Never again.

Great place to park and sail. No cost to leave your car. It is out a little ways but peace of mind leaving your car for a week.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating! Rooms are clean and comfortable, providing all the amenities needed for an extended stay. Located only 20 min from downtown by New Orleans, this location is a winner. Straight shot from the hotel to the city, with close access to gas, groceries, and restaurants.

This place is AWESOME! Excellent customer service, clean and the rooms are very big! Hats off to Nelson & Tony was the best!

Always the best stay in Avondale! We checked in late and the staff was extremely welcoming and warm and courteous. The front desk was very helpful with all of my requests through the weekend. I highly recommend anyone who is traveling to New Orleans to take the 10-minute extra trip to stay in this hotel rather than spending extra money and staying in the city. Very clean very well kept accommodations and not to mention a well-put-together fitness area in gym. And the big kicker is there is all Waffle House in the parking lot! LOL.

It's a dirty, ugly place, a racist crazy place. It's the worst place I do not want to go twice again, and it's known to be unkind people.

Worst place I’ve ever stayed! Asked for a non smoking room, but put in a room that smelled heavily of cigarettes. The TV was stuck on one channel, which got old quick. And to make things worse we had stuff stolen from our room, and the front desk was uncooperative saying that they couldn’t help us… Bottom line, save yourself some money and and keep your property. Don’t stay there! I’m rating one star, but only because there aren’t any negative stars.

Nice hotel, but don't go on any deal websites to book any hotels, deal directly with the hotel it's hell trying to get your money back if you didn't stay the entire time.

Rooms smell horrible, even the hallways. Rugs are buckled. The room set-up is nice. But there is a drastic difference between corporate owned and independently owned/operated… corporate locations are much better. The air conditioner was not working in the handicapped room, which was not good for my parent who has COPD. They did fix it the next day. The TV in one room did not work. I had to rearrange and restart the cable box and the tv.

Overall I was happy with the hotel, service, and maintenance. It was liasted as having breakfast, and that was not the case. The elevator smelled musty/moldy, though the room was fine. Some staff were vwrwere y helpful and friendly, others were mediocre.

Rooms were very clean! Loved the space and the kitchen. Laundry was free and that's great because I always like to wash before traveling home. The cupboard was a great plus as well. Very friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone and definitely stay again!

The rooms were clean and spacious. Has a fully functional kitchen stocked with pots and dishes. The washers and dryers are free to use. Boyfriend used their proprane grill for the weekend while kids played outside to get some fresh air. My kids loved the DVD selections they keep by the front desk. They staff was very friendly. We were Able to exchange sheets and towels at any time during our stay. We had a great exprience. Fyi — pets are allowed here but that didn't disturb us.

Very, nice hotel oddly situatated near very little. Mkstly fast food, although relatively close to downtown. Internet leaves something to be desired. Staff friendly and courteous.

Rooms are big with plenty of space. Beds are very clean and comfortable. In room kitchenette stocked with what you need. If you don't have it ask the front desk they have many things you can check out. From cooking utensils, board games movies and even office supplies Barbeque area with 2 pits clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly but do not leave anything important in the room when getting cleaned!

We found bed bugs in our room. We were moved to a different location but still felt as if things were crawling all over us. The staff apologized but that was all that was done.

The customer service was great. Everything was clean and tidy. I have never stayed at this chain before this visit but I will definitely look for it again.

Having family in Avondale, I travel down about once a year to the area and stay at the Candlewood Suites. It's always a short, pleasant stay with friendly staff. This past visit traveling for the first time with a newborn, I absentmindedly left the bottle warmer in our room when checking out. Calling to see if it was turned in after our return home was a call I dreaded making, assuming that it was "lost" for good and that I would have to invest in another. Goes to show that there is still some goodness in the world, the bottle warmer was turned in and shipped back to me within a few days. Would definitely recommend this place to family and friends who need to travel this way!

I stayed at this hotel for my military training and it was perfect for what it was. Great staff and they always accommodated our large group. I definitely would recommend staying here if you want to be near the outskirts of NOLA.

Loved it! The rooms was very clean and cozy and very friendly staff, TV is a bit small but the kitchen in the room makes up for that, no pool but the 24hr gym and laundromat makes up for that, the location is great too there is places to eat including a waffle House right next to the hotel and places to fuel up, with only 13 short miles from new orleans. The hotel comes with EVERYTHING u need, will definitely come back!

I've never been so disappointed with an IHG property. The 1 star is strictly for the free laundry and the kitchen inside of our room wasn't all that bad. The hotel is very dated, smells of cigarette smoke everywhere, and the staff is completely incompetent and rude. We were told upon checking in that if we needed our trash taken out or just a refresh on our room, we could call at any time. We have now been here for 3 nights and have called twice asking for more dishwasher detergent, fresh towels, and a trash change up and have been told there is no one around to help us because they are understaffed; not to mention our shower that will not drain. The whole place just feels and smells dirty. This has put such a bad taste in my mouth for IHG that my coworker and I will probably cancel our reservation at the end of the month at a different property. We definitely will not be trusting Candlewood with our travel needs again!

Rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable.

The room was big and clean. Full kitchen was a big plus. Easy to get to with well lit parking lot. No pool but we would definitely stay there again.

Stayed here for a fishing trip with my DS. The hotel was clean with an OK location. I'm not the target audience but for our family trip everything was satisfactory.

Friendly staff, they welcomed my 3 yr old and 5 yr old with a goodie bag. Kids really loved it. The room was nice and spacious. The only issue I had was the pillows were too hard for me, I asked the front desk if they had soft pillows and they said they don't have any spares. I was there for 3 nights and I ended up using a towel as my pillow by making it a roll. One day I saw a cockroach in kitchen cabinet that I reported to the front desk. Also, the Towels are not Fluffy, these were hard on skin and didn't give a soft feel.
