My husband and I visited this past weekend for our 22nd anniversary. We absolutely had the most relaxing and enjoyable time I think we've ever had on a trip. Peace and quiet at a slower pace than our day-to-day is what we were NEEDING, and the Monmouth super exceeded every expectation. I thought our mattress at home was good, but it ain't nothing compared to the comfortable mattress we had in our room It was like a cloud and we slept like babies. The breakfast was top notch, and the dinner at 1818 was fantastic. The staff go above and beyond to make your time visiting, one that's enjoyable. We are already planning our next getaway at the Monmouth.

Just visited Restaurant 1818 over Thanksgiving weekend and loved it! Beautiful historic property is worth the visit alone, but we so enjoyed our delicious meal and friendly engaging service from George. We ordered fried green tomatoes, lamb chops, filet, bread pudding, and pecan pie and highly recommend every dish. Already planning our next visit!

We had a great girls getaway. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The staff is friendly and so helpful. The breakfast is delicious. The one downside is the beds. One mattress was lumpy and hard. So uncomfortable. The other in our suite was a Temper Pedic that got hot as you laid there. Other than that, I would definitely go back.

Our dinner at 1818 wassuperb! CHEF JAKE YATES had a varied array of excellent menu selections. Our party of three ordered three different items but shared tastings. Yum, Tum… well worth the visit and $$$$$. Again the seasons were superb on each item. I will visit again.

Absolutely wonderful experience! Stayed in the cottage & ate at restaurant with my girlfriend. The duck was very good! Beautiful grounds and rooms. Kick back in the rocking chairs overlooking fountains & the pond. Enjoy a nice breakfast in the garden room. Tours also available. The people very friendly & service was wonderful. Pure relaxation…

We had such a great relaxing weekend getaway at Monmouth. The staff are very helpful and informative when making reservations and during your stay. We will be looking forward to our next stay when the flowers in the gardens are in bloom. Highly recommend the Gardenia cottage. The location is great since it’s so close to everything in Natchez. ❤️

Absolutely loved our stay at the Monmouth Historic Inn! Our room was spacious & beautiful. The grounds are well kept & tranquil. The complementary breakfast was delicious. Dinner at 1818 for my 50th birthday was wonderful. The service at this hotel was top notch all the way around. My husband and I wanted a peaceful getaway weekend and boy did this hidden gem deliver! We had a 2 night stay in the main house which was so elegant, clean and a super comfortable bed! The hospitality and service from the staff was excellent! Had dinner at 1818 and it was superb! Best steak and duck I think we have ever had! George was our server and he was wonderful also met with the Chef Jamie who is such a lovely person and our bartender Bryan in the lounge room was exceptional! Thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable we were sad to go but will be back soon! Gorgeous grounds and rooms. We celebrated our anniversary here this past weekend. The staff is so friendly. The atmosphere and food in Restaurant 1818 was amazing. You will not be disappointed.

Last night I dined at Monmouth which was a totally delightful experience I chose the steak which was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend choosing Monmouth as a great place to have a good meal.

Beautiful Home and Gardens are relaxing and enjoyable. Quiet and much needed after going to New Orleans and the history here is everywhere. The Owners are on site to assist and have wonderful check in with happy hour au d’oeuvres and a wonderful sitting room.

We had an excellent one night stay at Monmouth. The inn itself is amazing and beautiful but what really makes this place is in the incredible hospitality. George took care of us last night at dinner and Nichelle took care of us this morning at breakfast. The food was delicious and nicely prepared but the service we received from both of them was absolutely top notch. Highly recommend staying here for the ambience, accommodations and the service.

This has beautiful gardens, a very quiet area, just a short drive to downtown. When we came back after our first day of sightseeing, our bed was turned down, the lights turned on, the TV turned on, ice bucket filled and bottles of water placed in the room. They are very friendly and tell you points of interest.

I love this place! The best experience in hospitality dining and simply being here. It is more than an average overnight stay… it is a feeling, absolutely like being home in an earlier period. They prepared an antiibelluim room for us with all the luxury one would never expect in a hotel. Although. Little pricey, we found it was worth every cent. The gardens added to the pleasure. Wonderful place staff and fellow guests. The owner greeted us and that also was special.

Stayed at the Monmouth for the first time on Saturday Night. Our stay was beyond amazing. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Toured the ground and everything was nice and mowed, spring in the air. It was magnificent.

Amazing! Spacious rooms, privacy, wonderful staff, and food! It was nice to be catered to all weekend!

This was my second time at Monmouth. My husband and I first visited Monmouth 12 years ago for our anniversary. The presentation was spectacular. We also stay on the grounds. I did not sleep the entire night I could feel the presence of many unsettling Souls. On this trip my cousin and I came for dinner and it was fabulous. Always ask for Roosevelt he makes the house what it is!

We didn't stay here but we toured the home and grounds. The grounds are incredible. The home is fascinating, and the tour guide was great. I wish they'd talked more about the history of the slaves who lived here, worked here, and most likely built the home. Story was more focused on the slave owner's love life and military career. Still a beautifully preserved piece of history, and definitely worth seeing, but would love to see all sides.

Ate some real good chicken. The grounds were lovely. Even the little doggies had grave stones 8/10

It was absolutely beautiful. Stayed for our honeymoon! The entire staff was great! Our suite was gorgeous! Would highly recommend for any occasion!

A very nice historic hotel with interesting rooms. The breakfast was not adequate. Although many of them are historic, they are very unkempt. Even the beautiful garden could be much better maintained. The local beer (Bluff City Blonde) is horrible.

The plantation is very beautiful and quite. This is the second time We've come here, and will definitely come back. The best part of our trip was hal, he makes the place what it is. He is the most friendly, polite, so courteous person I've ever met. I can't wait to go back just to see him. Every single person loves hal. I highly recomend this plantation, and you will meet the most respectable person in the world, and that's hal.

Everything about Monmouth Inn is amazing. The entire staff was warm and friendly. Excellent customer service! The grounds are beautiful, our suite (39) was gorgeous and the complimentary breakfast was so delicious I already miss it! Our dinner at Restaurant 1818 was one of the best meals I have ever had. Our stay was a wonderful experience!

The rooms are reasonably clean but not outstandingly so. The staff, while friendly is however not too helpful. We arrived somewhat later in the afternoon and upon checking in we were told to wait outside for the man to show us to the rooms. He arrived and pointed his extended arm with an explanation of go here, than go there, etc. He didn't offer to go with us, just pointed then turned and left. The rooms which were assigned to us were not part of the actual plantation, but just in some low cost outbuildings built some years ago to accommodate more guest. We were told to gain access to the plantation inside an additional charge would be levied. Overall the property needs maintenance improvements, see image of deteriorating shutters. The value relationship between what is charged and what is offered is out of balance with prices being way to high. We were disappointed.

I stayed in a "superior suite" which consisted of a two room suite way back at the back of the property out of view of everything, including all aspects of the house. I arrived for check-in at 3pm as per their website. The room had not even begun to be cleaned, so I was asked to sit in my car in the muddy dirt parking lot for an hour until the room was ready at 4pm. They have no waiting accommodation for guests who must wait when they are behind in readying rooms, so we were not off to a good start. The suite was acceptable, recently renovated according to the front desk. Among other annoyances, it had no full length mirror. Just an unusually high mirror in the bath and a really low vanity mirror in the bedroom. I could see my face and my knees before going to dinner. I think they have the right idea here, but the delivery of an experience as they hold it out to be falls short upon delivery. They really don't have much chance of getting there as long as the visit starts with "your room is not ready, please have a seat in your car in the parking lot and we will get to you when we get to you". Fortunately, there are many other choices in the area for my next visit. The rates are way too high for this level of service.

My best friend got married here. What a beautiful place! The house and gardens were well maintained and gorgeous. The staff was friendly, but the only reason that I am giving 4 instead of 5 starts is that when we got there the room wasn't ready and we had to wait 45 minutes to get in the room. Otherwise it was a very wonderful house and has a friendly staff.

One word, quiet. It is a peaceful and relaxing place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The 1818 restaurant is a gourmet fine dinning experience that is magnificent. The grounds are breath-takingly gorgeous. It is the Southern experience at its finest. I strongly recommend staying here.

Stayed a couple night's with the wife for a little getaway. The whole place is beautiful. Saw lots of wildlife. The staff were very professional yet courteous. The food was excellent. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed a wonderful Chef prepared dinner at the Monmouth historic Inn. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It appeared that other guests dining were also quite pleased.

Beautiful place. We were unable to take the guided tour and it was three they must cut it off at a certain hour. Grounds are beautiful though.

We just can't say enough great things about this place! Our room was so quiet and the bed most comfortable. The hospitality was beyond measure. We will definitely be back!

Stayed in room 30 just behind the gift shop. It was extremely quiet and it has a separate sitting room where we ate our room service meal. Rosevelt made us feel special!
The grounds are well maintained and peaceful. We sat by the lake and watched the ducks, turtles and squirrels. You have to walk a short distance with stairs and gravel path to breakfast which was worth the walk.
We were here for my wife's birthday and it was a big hit.

My mother, sister, and I stayed in the Garden Cottage for two nights. Everything about our stay was lovely. The staff was friendly and helpful, the dinner at the main house was delicious, the grounds were picturesque, and the Monmouth house tour was one of the best presented tours we've seen. Our room was pretty and had a wonderful, large bathroom that accommodated all three women getting ready at the same time. My only small complaint would be that the wicker chairs in the sitting room were not terribly comfortable, but the beds were great. I would definitely return to Monmouth! Make sure to ask Roosevelt to make you a mint julep!

The staff was just so nice and so helpful wonderful pond for fishing and some of the best food you will taste! Will be back!

This place is amazing! We visited 2 weeks ago and stayed for the weekend. We also dined at 1818. We go to Natchez every 2-3 years and this is by far the best visit we've had because we stayed and dined here! I cannot say enough good things… Hal was amazing and so attentive, Shirley, our server at the restaurant was amazing, Dan the piano man was so warm and inviting, and Roosevelt made the most amazing drinks! The room was gorgeous, the grounds serene and beautiful, and housekeeping blew my mind! Do yourself a favor and book now! This will be the place I stay from now on!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on our 2nd Anniversary. The staff at Monmouth have been great from start to finish. The grounds are immaculate. The breakfast is so tasty. You will not be disappointed if you select one of their packages. We used the anniversary package and received champaign, Chocolate covered strawberries, and a cake of our choice… they will make anything. We also had a $100 voucher to be used at the on site restaurant, 1818, and two tickets for a carriage ride. The 1818 is amazing and will pretty much make you feel like you are their only customer. Stay a couple of nights and you'll make friends with other guests.

It was not worth the trip. Input we ordered a dish tomato fried, and result of the fennel. When the waitress served us the main dish, my husband who ordered beef, we are presented as of the pig! And my dish that was literally cold duck! We me l to change but everything tasted the same… Soft as if had been everywhere, the same sauce on the vegetables and risotto and duck! Not good at all. And all this for $ 170! In summary, a majestic setting, but a kitchen and a service of fast food.

Beautiful home & gardens. Only took a tour. Tour guide told us to hold our questions until the end of the tour. I had forgotten my questions by that time.

Everything was so lovely and just back in time. Everybody was so nice and we had a lot of friendly conversations. The park is such a quite place and there are a lot of beautiful flowers in there. The room was so lovely! We had a fabulous Dinner — everything was delicious and the waiter was so friendly! What a nice place to stay and spend time.

We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was fantastic. We loved the atmosphere with all the antiques and history. The staff was so friendly and wonderful — try it, you will love it!
