This is a beautiful hotel, great location but when I have to leave the hotel in the middle of the night because I wake up to find a large full grown bed bug on my pillow, a smaller one on my toddlers pillow and a larve in the bed I tend to not be too pleased. The size of the bugs show they were there for awhile, these weren't just larve that someone brought with them a few days ago on their suitcases, these were bed bugs of different stages so they have been there a while, which also means the hotel doesn't check for them as often as they should. The front desk person didn't know what to do in the situation, called her manager on the phone who didn't even talk to us but asked us to call her in the morning. Also, there were no more double occupancy rooms left, I was not going to stay in an infested room, it was 2 am I didn't feel like searching for another hotel in the wee hours of the morning, so we took our 19 month old son and drove the 1 and a half hours home. This is the 2nd Marriott hotel I have stayed at where there were fully grown bed bugs. Not happy, expect to get at least triple our points back and all cleaning expenses for our items reimbursed, we shall see, I am going to wait 1 more day if the manager doesn't contact me directly I am going to skip calling her since she will have shown no interest in making this experience right and contact corporate directly. Other than that if it hadn't been for the bugs I would have enjoyed our stay. The lack of response from the manager and the inability of the front desk staff to know what to do or show interest in making it right really is disappointing and I expect more from a Marriott hotel. UPDATE: It has been over 8 weeks, it took 2 weeks to get a phone call from the hotel manager and it was only received AFTER I filled a complaint with the corporate office. Have not heard from corporate other than telling us the manager will call us and that our original points were returned. We have left the hotel manager and corporate a few voicemails and have not heard back.
