When we entered the hotel we weren't expecting anything grand, after all it's a Super 8 off the interstate in a small town in Wisconsin. We were greeted pleasantly by the staff but also with a sign saying something along the lines of, "Please excuse our mess as we're under renovation" and while this tempered our expectations it did not prepare us for what we found in our room. In addition to mysterious smudges and crusts on the walls, the queen bed nearest to the window had crusty stuff all over the pillowcases (luckily we didnt need that bed for sleeping since it was just my wife and I) the paint was peeling chipped or missing in multiple places on the walls and ceiling, the shower curtain rod was not properly anchored and was tilted so the shower curtain constantly slid and never fully closed, the window screen to the room was bent as though it had been recently pried open not inspiring the safest of feelings and there were also paint spots on both the duvet covers… cleanliness was obviously not a priority… at least for our room. At the end of the day it was a $75 room and it was a dry air conditioned place to sleep. The furniture sans the mini fridge looked new as did the carpet… so its a work in progress and one day if the cleaning gets better might be a great spot but for now it wasn't an experience I hope to repeat anytime soon.

The staff/owners went above and beyond to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. They've done a fabulous job with their renovation and for their rates, you can't find anything more comfortable, clean and family-friendly.

I wish there was a way to give them zero stars. This is the worst hotel experience I've ever had and I've stayed in hundreds of hotels. First they checked us into an a room that had not been cleaned, (beds unmade, trash everywhere, dirty towels). They gave us a different room. It smelled bad but at least the beds were made and clean towels had been placed. About 9pm that evening a woman walks into our room and says "oh I'm sorry, they rented me this room! " Strike two! The next morning I go to take a shower, no water! I call the desk and he said they had a leak they were fixing and it would be back on in 15 minutes. We went to the continental breakfast, the juice machine was spitting out juice concentrate because there was no water. 45 minutes later we returned to our room to find we still had no water. I complained to a man who claimed to NOT be the manager. Her was VERY rude. Finally when I demanded water or a refund, he started ordering employees around, like a manager, and found us a room with running water. Upon check out I asked for a partial refund to make up for the desaterous string of events. I was told that the manager didn't come in for two more hours but that she would call me. No one called. This hotel is dirty and falling apart and it is staffed with rude people who don't understand what customer service is in this country!

This has to be one of the the nicest economy hotels I have been to a in a long time. Very clean despite having renovations going on. Nice pool and hot tub area, both indoors. The beds were so nice. Felt like memory foam. Nice little continental breakfast to boot. Really nice staff as well.

After reading other reviews of this place, we were skeptical about staying here. Especially after hearing about being charged twice. But we decided to give it a try since it was the cheapest around. We wasnt looking for 5 star rooms, but didnt want 1 star either. We booked online a few days earlier, One room with two queens. For one night stay. Even called on the phone to verify it was one room with two queens. Not a problem, Kathy was very helpful. After arriving there, Kathy saw my wife was Handicap and offered us the handicap room. We accepted. We took room 101. As you can see from the pictures, it was very nice. The A/C worked just fine. My Daughter and Grandkids showed up a few hours later. The shower had lots of hot water and very good water pressure. The shower head could be better but it was fine. We did see a few bugs in the room (Not bedbugs) and one other person had the same complaint that we know of. Breakfast was in a separate locked room but was opened by the time we awoke. Nothing fancy, cereal, waffles, milk, juice, coffee etc. My grandkids swam in the pool and had a great time. Checkout went flawlessly. Others had posted about the renovating and having beds/chairs in the hallways. We didnt see that when we were there. After returning home, I noticed on my bank account we were charged twice after-all (although they all showed in Pending Status). We called the motel. They said since we changed rooms, that why it showed twice.

Ugh. I will start by saying overall our stay was average. We were only in town for one night, and the room served its purpose. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, which is great, however, they have chairs, mattresses, etc. EVERYWHERE in the hallways. The room itself was a basic room. The sheets on the bed were not fitted to the mattress and kept sliding off the corners and our bathroom was not very clean. The reason for the 1 Star (I wish it was zero) is because of the failed customer service we encountered. At check in, Kathy was very pleasant. We booked on Expedia (we had 4 guests and requested one room with two queen beds). Upon arrival we were informed they could not honor that booking and would instead give us 2 rooms, each room with 1 queen bed. We clarified that we would not be charged additionally, signed paperwork and went about our day. When we entered our rooms, they ended up each having 2 queen beds afterall. We thought this was odd, but Kathy was the one who assigned us to these rooms, so again we proceeded with our day. The main issue arose when we checked out. We were told at check-in that we would not be charged for the second room, but indeed we were. Never once did Kathy mention to us that we would be charged and never once did she say she was running the card for a second room. When we asked for clarification about the additional charge, the manager Sam ended up coming out to assist.

The bathroom was filthy (stained towels, dirty un-mopped floor and pubic hair on toilet). I wish I would have stayed somewhere else. You get what you pay for here, maybe even less. Lastly, the staff at front desk for checkout were very unfriendly. I felt as if I was inconveniencing them when I asked for a receipt.

Hotel was being remodeled during our visit, but that wasn't the issue. The issue was with the management staff. We reserved a room online and there was a misunderstanding, we reserved a single room with two queen beds, but was told they did have any but would be given two rooms, each with a single queen. We were told it was at no extra charge due to the inconvenience. When we go to check out, we get charged for the second room and the "manager" "Sam" said there was nothing he could do to fix the situation. I asked him to just make the situation right, but wouldn't do anything to help. Sam just keep blaming us. If you're in the hospitality industry learn how to take care of your customers.

Bathroom was disgusting. There was actually dried urine all over the toilet. Hairs on the tub and floor. Bed was ok. Only positive was they allowed me to check in at 9:30am.

Its the best one star hotel with a three star rating. They are remodeling currently. Linens were dirty, but room clean. Breakfast was okay.

The placed needs attention. The room seemed cleaned but outside the building needs cleaned up. Our bathroom sink did not drain correctly and the shower curtain needed fixed because the curtain would not stay closed on both ends. Stains on the carpet.

Poor place, they are in the process of updating, ac wouldn’t work at night but worked in the morning, it’s a super 8 so it’s not going to be very nice. Almost got charged twice, but thankfully my credit card declined second attempt. Management is foreign with poor English and made communication a bit difficult. I cannot recommend this place even at $83, should be more like $59 a night.

I was highly disappointed. The cleanliness was very surface. When we asked for staff assistance when we lost our key, a middle eastern man who was working day shift. He was walking around with his fly completely open and leering at my wife, not listening to anything she had to say. He kept smiling and nodding toward his open fly. My wife felt so uncomfortable and just got in the truck on the verge of tears. I will never stay here again.

It's probably one of the better Super 8s I've stayed at. Nice looking pool, decent room size, but my sink was leaking when on.

My stay here was Good! We had the king suite and everything was nicely kept. Clean bedding clean bathroom and jacozee. The only thing was the carpet looked like it had been bleached but that didn't effect my stay. The breakfast in the morning was your typical hotel breakfast foods. Location was awesome, not far from the twin cities at all and near a kwick trip to gas up and multiple food stops. If I go that way again, I would stay here again. And the price for the room made everything worth it!

The rooms were great. Typical breakfast. I recommend that you book DIRECTLY with the hotel. DON'T use a third party app to reserve a room. The third party always messes up.

The Super 8 must be under new management and their standards have dropped drastically since my last visit. — Parking lot was not plowed or salted — Nobody was at reception when I rang the bell and it took almost 5 minutes — Entire Hotel smelled like a dirty swimming pool and fried food — All exterior doors were unlocked all night and didn't require keycards — TV remote and Shower Head in my room were both broken — Bathroom had wallpaper peeling off the walls — Continental breakfast was cold cereal, cold coffee, and toast.

Seriously, don't listen to the bad reviews of this place. It's a great place to chill and the price is extremely reasonable. The staff is very sweet, the place is nice and clean, and the pool area looks great. I'd come here anytime. I honestly think those leaving bad reviews must have some serious issues. Come on in… It's safe here.

You get ht you pay. It was pretty clean. The price on line said $45. I was told all those rooms were gone. It was a Wednesday at 7pm. I doubt it. The free breakfast was a joke. Cereral, toast, yogurt and waffles.

I will NEVER stay here again. The hot tub was piss yellow and the pool had dirt everywhere on the bottom. The showers are a bruising jet stream. The beds are like sleeping on a concrete floor. Their a. C. Sounds like a motor starting up. Awful and rude customer service. This place is terrible.

Hot tub is green, no hot breakfast left, pool shut down first night. Room smelled like old smoke really strong.

I would give them negative stars if I could. They are very rude. I had a package sent there and the people I sent it to had left sooner than expected and the hotel gave me a hard time to return our package back to us of our merchandise. He would interrupt me in the middle of my sentences and wouldn't let me speak to teach this person how to "return to sender". Apparently he needs special permission for something so simple. We spend thousands of dollars on hotels I guess they don't want our business.

Dirty, black mold on one of the ceiling tiles, cheap, obviously trying to save money by keeping air off in hotel hallways and lobby when we arrived, lights off in the pool and didn't want to turn them on upon request, air conditioner boxes stacked in the lobby and removed units in the hallways, stinky smell in room and hallways, could use a coat of paint, hallways wall paper was oozing at the seams, uncomfortable beds, dated comforters and design in the rooms, worthless breakfast bar, cold sausage because they didn't turn the heater on, waffle machine didn't wasn't prepped and stocked, misspelled yogurt on a handmade sign, and horrible curb appeal as you pull in past an abandoned gas station as banquet hall. Safety hazard in one of the stairways due to top stair being much higher than all of the others, all six of us in our family tripped on it more than once. Super unhappy with our stay.

We stayed for two nights and our room was never touched! No towels, no beds made. Microwave only worked when hall light was on. Breakfast was horrible. We took a sausage and it was frozen. Remote buttons were hit and miss. Mattress was very lumpy and uncomfortable and hot tube was broken. Will never stay here again!

Great place to spend a few night. Met a good people work there. Breakfast here has a good spread. You get waffles, cereal, and sausage. Yup, sausage, and fruit yogurt. Plus they have coffee available all the time. I like this super 8 good maintain. I love to come back and stay this motel again.

Smoking rooms. Stunk like piss and mold. Carpet was threadbare and worn to the point you could almost see the pad. The pool was green. Staff was rude and argumentative with me was promised early check in got there and was told no you can't.

Nothing special, bed shelter and shower. One note they had a dog reunion, with over 20 dogs and owners. Barking until 12:00 am not appreciated. Wish they would have infirmed guests of this.

The floor in the room was soaking wet, so much so their dressers near the bed was beginning to cave to the water damage. Their "government" rate was higher than their advertised online price and the room was freezing. Breakfast was not great either, they had a waffle machine which worked okay but the juice machine wasn't turned on, cereal was empty, and just a general lack of anything for 80 dollars a night. Overall if you have to sleep on the floor or this place, choose the floor and not the soaking wet floor in room 120.

Really dirty place to stay and they let people party outside all night. Trash and beer cans everywhere. A giant waste of money! No Stars if possible!

A good hotel with a reasonable price, friendly atmosphere. The pool was really clean and big. I was really stressed by travelling and reached there late around 12, when I asked about the hot pool they said it is close now. I was really in need of a massage pool. I asked for that, they gave me 20 minutes only to enter the hot pool, But that helped me a lot to relax. The people there and adorable, well maintained motel. I will be there really soon on my way back to Chicago…

I rated a one star because I found a huge booger on the wall of my room. GROSS! I posted the pict so others can see. Lol.

Nice place, staff were friendly and helpfull. Very satisfactory breakfast, one of the nicer super 8 s on I-94.

Beds are subpar. Got there heat was off in the room with it being 10°outside it was a tad chilly turned the heater on low before going to sleep woke up at 3am and knew how a turkey feels. Woke up with a pretty sore back. At $100 a night way over priced. I travel alot and stayed at way nicer hotels for half the cost.

The room itself was pretty nice, although the towels were extremely rough and small. We booked this hotel because it had a pool, and when we got there it was dark but the door said the pool was open. When I asked about it at the desk I didn't get a clear answer but she told me to check back. I did, and she told me it was closed but I couldn't get a clear answer as to why. When we came back from dinner the lights were on, so we went in and basically discovered that the only reason it was open was that a couple guys staying there just went in and turned on the lights themselves, which they said they have to do pretty much every day. So if they hadn't been staying there we wouldn't have gotten access to the pool and would have wasted the extra money we spent to stay there. The staff are all very confusing to talk to because they are evasive when answering questions. Probably would avoid if we were in the area again.

Friendly staff. The pool and hottub were clean and hit the spot after the long drive. Room was clean. Will be one of my markers for traveling. The room rate was great.

We were part of a block of rooms for a wedding. They overbooked and several people had to find alternate lodging because the hotel gave their room to someone else. Then they told them that they were only getting 2 of their 3 rooms but had to still pay for the third room that was given to another customer. Continental breakfast left me hungry and wanting real food. Lights in the room didn't work and some bulbs were missing. The sheets were either dirty, or stained. Room was small. Beer cans littered the parking lot. Room was hot when we arrived and there wasn't a screen on the window. It seems like they are cutting corners and conserving resources to keep costs low.

$10 for an extra pillow? Heat doesn't work either. Would rather have AIDS than stay here again.

Dirty and Gross. Comforter had stains. Light in the room didn't work. Pool water was so dirty I didn't let my daughter swim. Also, the bathrooms in the pool area were overflowing with waste. Terrible experience.

A good, solid motel run by friendly people. My room was nice and clean and the staff, helpful. The only hiccup came from their wireless Wi-Fi. They had to re-boot their router in order for me to get an IP address. Still, the price is right and I'd stay here again if visiting the area.

Stayed for the Knotfest Festival in nearby Somerset and the area has a great restaurant near and the hotel is clean and well maintained. The owner runs the hotel efficiently and was more than helpful in helping us find a liquor store, restaurant, and where we could purchase groceries. Would recommend this hotel and if returning to the area, would use again. Good value as well.
