The staff does not care to enforce any rules of the hotel, such as large groups screaming in the hallways, pool area, and outdoors, as well as propping locked doors open well past 11pm. The large travel team from Michigan really was an embarrassment to themselves for not having respect for other travelers, ignoring their children screaming outdoors after and inside the pool area late into the night, as the staff should be 1) available and 2) address the guests violating hotel rules that jeopardize the comfort and safety of other paying guests.

Worst hotel service I have ever received. Canceled my hotel without notice. The manager with red hair and Nevada the worker are serious the worst people I have ever met that is running a hotel.

Nothing I can say was bad about my stay. Most friendly and gracious staff. Room was spacious and spotless. Very quiet and comfortable. I would definitely stay and recommend again.

Everything was nice except we couldn't take a hot shower. We didn't discover this until we had completely unpacked at 10:30pm after a 10 hour trip. We were offered another room but too exhausted to change at that point. We were told we could move the next day but we opted to shower at the family's home we were visiting during our entire stay instead. Apparently no one can come fix your issues?!? You just move rooms?!? The staff member didn't seem concerned about our major inconvenience at all and stated that she couldn't do anything to compensate us because we booked through booking. Com. I had no idea that was even a thing. So my suggestion would be to check all plumbing issues before you take your shoes off and unpack. And if you don't want to switch rooms, pack a big bag every day and take a shower somewhere else like we did. We stay in this area 3 times a year all the way from NC but luckily there are other hotels around we can use.

This hotel actually lied to me on the phone when I called to ask about their cancelation policy. When I called, I asked if I could still cancel my rooms or did I need to come check in to avoid fees. I told them I would make the drive if need since it was less than 90 minute drive. They told me no, I could still cancel the room since it was before 6:00 PM. Then two days later I saw they billed $220 to my credit card. I called to ask how to fix it and the manager said she could do nothing because IHG corporate billed me the fees. Turns out that was a second lie. When I got corporate involved, they found the fees where charged locally by this hotel. Multiple lies from one facility. Telling the truth either time would have resulted in things getting fixed. But now this is going to cost them a lot more than $220 to deal with.

Charged me a cancellation fee for a simple mistake. I’ve stayed here many times for business with Whirpool and won’t return! Been under construction for years. Hallway s dirty. Stay Away!

Awesome beds. Clean hotel and friendly staff. The hotel is in a great location close to major shopping areas and easy access to the highway.

Worst hotel experience of my life. I booked my room on travelocity. Com. My room was supposed to come with a refrigerator and a microwave and it did not. I made a complaint about that issue at the front desk and they told me that none of the rooms except for the suites come with a refrigerator or a microwave because they are under construction. I called in advance to let them know that I would have more than four people in the room because I had four kids and two adults. Holiday inn said that was fine they have rollaway beds if I need one. After I made a complaint they decide that I'm supposed to pay for an extra room because of my extra kids. The lady working was fine with my kids swimming without me being in the room until a racist white man's kids decided they didn't want to swim in the swimming pool with my black children and made a complaint and made my kids get out. Holiday inn refused to give me a full refund luckily Travelocity gave me a full refund. We switched to the Best Western which was a bigger room bigger beds and came with a refrigerator and a microwave in the room and $40 cheaper with a better breakfast. If you're coming to Marion Ohio book at Best Western not Holiday inn!

Our daughter had a fever so they went out and bought her children’s Tylenol and didn’t charge us a penny for it! It was amazing! The hotel itself is nice but that part just made our whole stay worth it!

We stay with IHG hotels 99.9% of our travel and vacation road trips. My husband is SPIRE member since he travels frequently for business. During our stay, they had remodeling taking place. We cannot fault them for this, it helps future travelers be more comfortable. The staff is very friendly, welcoming. They left us a handwritten note with chocolate candies welcoming us on our bed. Our room was clean and smelled fresh.

The rooms were clean. Blackout curtains worked. The continental breakfast had good variety of hot and cold. Tasty coffee in the rooms. Last but not least, all the staff was AMAZING. Wonderful hospitality! Late night and morning, everyone we interacted with were 5 star.

Very nice place in Marion. Room was neat, clean and beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and hospitable… always wanting to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Breakfast actually had a nice selection… hot foods or cereal and bagels… whatever you prefer. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely stay again.

Good breakfast, only some rooms have refrigerator and microwaves. No toothpaste when I was there… order didn't come in. I found a bedbug and flushed it down the toilet. Checked out next morning checked into country inn… cheaper rates and also has continental breakfast… no bugs that I've seen.

The Best Continental Breakfast I have had in 38 States. I Loved the spacious rooms, the mist showerhead, and all the amennities. Supremely Courteous staff. The essence of service.

We come to Marion 3-4 times a year to look in on family and have been staying here for years. We’ve never had a bad experience, but I must say we do not receive the personal attention we received from the previous management. No complaints. We’ll be back.

Noisy, no fridge or microwave in room. Furniture in room falling apart. Small TV in room. Not much to recommend about this hotel, but it is the best hotel in town.

Workers were very nice, they made me oatmeal when I was in the lobby and said I was hungry.

Told us we could book in advance in November, let them know REPEATEDLY, that my daughter had an ESA (which is a cat). Never let us know about any preauthoratization charges, let us book and DOCUMENTED that we were bringing my daughters ESA with us. Let us believe we had a room, called the Wednesday before and was reassured our room was still booked. Arrived Friday the 24th got told they CANCELLED our room and then got told we weren't allowed having my daughters ESA there. Told me they were going to help us find another room at another hotel (Lisa and a plain clothed lady with blonde hair, glasses and a medium-heavy build) the lady with blonde hair didn't even call ANYONE and told me to leave. Did I get angry? Yes. Did I curse, yes. But I have stayed at other Holiday Inn Express & Suites with no qualms about my daughters ESA. I will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. Never.

The rooms were clean and they had impeccable service. We brought 13 high school girls for an overnight robotics competition. The hotel staff allowed us to use the conference room and even left out candy for our girls. It was great!

This is Always our place to stay when we visit family in this area.

I spent 2 nights here in October. The rooms were as expected, clean with a Keurig. The restroom was large enough and clean. The breakfast had a large variety to choose from: hot foods, fresh fruits, juice, coffee, milk, cold cereal, breads and pastries. The staff was very friendly and assisted my coworker by providing them with a different room.

Would have given 5 stars if the comfort of the meeting room used had been addressed. It was getting really stuffy, was reported but didn't seem to get cooler. In there defense the windows were South facing getting direct sun.

I have recently stayed here while dealing with a family emergency, dorthy had been more than helpful in assisting me quickly and with expert knowledge. Great to know good people still are out there. -John B.

Horrible experience on 7/22/17. Would leave 0 stars if possible! It was raining all Saturday morning, and we were at there that week for the Nationals. Hotel desk clerk, Brandi promised two softball teams that if we checked out at 5:45pm, we wouldn't have to pay for that night stay. Since she promised that, our teams did not check out at the regular checkout time, 11:00am. Our games got cancelled due to rain at 1:00 pm, and the teams wanted to checkout. Brandi took back the promised extended checkout time, and charged us all for that night stay! Lesson learn to get it in writing next time, which won't be ever again. Our softball team will not stay at Marion Holiday express ever again! Also, the storm knocked the cable and the elevators out all day Saturday!

We where just down there for a softball tournament. What started out as a great experience with the staff turned bad. We where told by the manager that if we would check out before 5pm we would not be charged for that night. This would work great in case of the team losing and being sent home early. When we went to check out at 2pm we where told that we are going to be charged for the night. In other words we where lied to. What a joke, very disappointed.

Clean, well decorated, friendly staff, and a delicious breakfast. Only negative is the pool was disgusting which really disappointed my kids. Water was green and cloudy and the pool was full of trash and hair.

I want to call out Tyler for his help tonight (6/5/17). After bringing to his attention that something on the third floor smelled terrible he went above and beyond to figure out what was going on and make it better. First, a resident threw something away in the third floor trash in that smelled dead (not the hotel's fault). It quickly started stinking up the whole floor. Tyler found changed out the trash and moved me to the other side of the hotel. Second, he hand wrote me a letter stating what was going on, which I greatly appreciated. But then saw him in person so he took care of my personally. All around fantastic customer service and a great hotel. Thanks Holiday Inn as Marion, OH.

All I can say is what an awesome staff! So friendly the definition of hospitality! I forgot I was in the North! Thank you.

Overnight, for school event in Marion. Comfortable bed, decent bathroom; nice stay.

The hotel was great. The staff helped me repeatedly. I was traveling with my 4 young children, and no matter what my issue was they were there to help. The pool room was a little cool when I first walked in, but the water was amazingly warm. It was pretty shallow and there was no hot tub. But still warm and fun. The breakfast was your basic breakfast. Precooked eggs, pancakes, sausage, cereal, etc. Very clean.

The Wi-Fi is horrible. There was a dirty wash rag hanging on our shower head. No pool towels. And for $142 a night you'd think they'd at least have a hot tub! The people above us kept us up ALL NIGHT. Never staying here again!

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was courteous and friendly. The pool appeared clean and the patio was nice. Our softball team stayed for two nights and we had 0700 field time. The staff was very accommodating to our early breakfast request.

Very clean, extra towels, bedding and toiletries, the bed was very comfortable. Alan a at front desk was very nice, the outside of hotel was spotless and very well maintained. Beautifully landscaped. I was impressed with the whole pkg.
