Such a beautiful place. Wonderful staff. Great food!

Our experience at their restaurant has to be the worst we've had in years. Not once did the manager Andy apologize for everything that happened, but he threw the server under the bus. It doesn't matter why it happened, it did happen and what are you going to do to fix the issues? They definitely dropped the ball last night and we will not be in any hurry to return.

There's not enough words to describe this AMAZING place! My 1st time in Ohio and I was lucky to get a room here. This hotel is the cleanest I have ever stayed at! The people who work here in every department are the nicest most welcoming people! I felt so at home here it was hard to leave! The food at the restaurant was delicious and overall ambiance is gorgeous! It's not fair to give a 5 star rating when they deserve 100 more! They don't disappoint! I have stayed in countless hotels over my years of traveling, and this tops them all! I'll be back here for sure. Thank you to the kind staff for everything. They were welcoming for me to take photos in my cosplay there as well. ❤️ I adore it here!

Hands down, I would recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone. I often even show up strictly to dine because the food and service is consistently exceeding my expectations. Whoever they have in the kitchen certainly maintains high standards and delivers results time after time.

All I can say is WOW! From the friendly staff, clean rooms, and remarkable food we will definitely be returning! Perfect little getaway. The ambiance was romantic and the history is well preserved.

We had an awesome time but at the price point this hotel is at I expected more attention to detail. The good:
-Comfortable bed
-Clean and beautifully decorated room
-Friendly staff
-This really is a beautiful hotel
-Nice ambience in the Oak Room playing classic romantic music during dinner.
-The food is GREAT and we will probably be back for that alone! My husband ordered the pork tenderloin and I ordered the shrimp cardamom pasta. Both cooked perfectly.
-I really loved the bath products! The meh:
-There seems to be one main entrance and the small parking lot was full when we checked in at 3pm. The sidewalk in front was patchy with ice so this made an interesting walk up to the hotel from the further lot.
-Not “plus size” friendly. The robes provided were too small for me and my husband. My husband is a pretty average sized dude so this was surprising.
-The design of the small bathroom is lacking also not plus sized friendly when you feel you’re being shoved in a box to use the toilet and are touching the bathtub and the sink.
-We had booked the romance package and had also got a few waters. None of the beverages were chilled at all.
-Same kind of deal at the restaurant the rolls were served refrigerated with cold/ hard butter. I know it probably seems nitpciky but for the price point we just expected a bit more of an elevated experience.

Food was amazing, server was delightful and the atmosphere was romantic and inviting!

Very, very clean. All staff was very friendly. Beautiful Hotel, well kept, with original feel, while still adding modern conveniences. Although I stayed one night and didn't get a chance to eat dinner there, I am sure it would be delicious.

We visited the Inn last weekend for my birthday. Had a wonderful experience Beautiful place, food was the best and the quaint little town topped it off! Definitely will be returning. Peaceful perfect weekend/birthday.

I just had the best NY Strip of my life at the Inn… and as good as it was, the crab cakes may have overshadowed it by an eyelash. The service was excellent, as well.

I very much appreciated the attention to detail here. It seems etiquette is a dying artform that has not been lost at this Inn. Thank you for providing a restful and memorable experience.

The Granville Inn has become our 'go to' date night spot. The service, atmosphere and food is incredible. My husband and I were just discussing the meals that we have ordered in the past and came to the conclusion that there is not one that has been disappointing. Try the sushi and desserts too. You will be so happy that you did!

The established building… stunning. Ambiance, mood, glamour… everything except decent service and edible food. Clearly, there's no staff training, (re: menu or, in fact, how to be a waiter), and that kitchen must be a jungle. Oh well. My company was delicious. That Lobster Bisque, as runny and chilled as it was, still wasn't as flat as my 'Mushroom Flatbread'. (Bad pizza, basically. )

Fabulous historic inn that has been renovated and best of all is the staff. From the time we arrived until we left the staff was always checking on our needs. Extremely friendly and personable. Rooms were much larger than expected and totally renovated with beautiful decor. If you are a golfer be sure to play their course as it is the best course I have played in Ohio and rivals the Arizona courses I have played. Be sure to check out the quaint downtown area as it is beautiful. Thanks to our host Ann as she was great and makes sure that you have an exceptional experience along with her entire staff.

Nice atmosphere but very very very slow service. Out of the special and only 7 o’clock.

We had a great dinner and listened to some great music from Barefoot McCoy out on the patio. Our waitress was awesome also. A great way to spend a summer evening.

Great food at a really cool old English style inn.

The staff was awesome! Family members stayed at the hotel and the staff sent up chocolates for a special occasion. I spoke with Ashley about doing something special and she suggested I talk w/Aubrey. I then was able to "sample" a plum wine (which was excellent) and also the house champagne. The plum wine was so awesome I ordered it with lunch. Sent a bottle of the house champagne to family for a special occassion. The hotel was breathtaking! While I didn't stay here, I would on my next visit to the area.

Excellent venue for a wedding. The waitress at the bar is snippy but the rooms are nice and the food was outstanding.

The Granville Inn never disappoints. Great service even when the staff is obviously absurdly busy! Even though the atmosphere is white collar classy, I never feel out of place bringing my toddler in for a nice meal. Food quality is beyond compare and the inventive specials keep us coming back every week.

I've always had odd experiences here. The menu changes often because the chef is often replaced. I most recently had a turkey sandwich with split pea soup. The sandwich bread was great but the soup was pretty bad. Not the best menu selection either. I hope they continue to improve because it's such a great place with great people.

Established in 1924, and recently renovated in the early 2000s, I found this quaint little in to be one of the most eye-catching attractions along the strip!

Superb food, excellent lounge service, the spacious as well as best meeting and dining rooms for your club and organizations to congregate. Definitely a 5 star restaurant and hotel.

It was a beautiful summer day. We drove from Columbus to Granville. The road is excellent. 20 minutes from 270 to the Granville Inn. The parking is somewhat limited, but we found a spot on the street out front. We didn't have reservations, but we were greeted with a smile and shown to a table on the patio out front. The staff was excellent. They were very friendly and attentive. They have a wonderful lunch menu. My wife had the Chintz Chicken Salad (yes, the one from Lazarus) and I had the Reuben sandwich with a side salad. Both were outstanding.

Food was absolutely great, the room was very clean. No mini fridge, Wi-Fi a little sporadic. A very nice place to stay and eat, the staff was very friendly.

This inn is graceful & lovely. The staff are unfailingly friendly & helpful. And the food is delicious!

Loved this old building. I went exploring one night and found the library, 2 small halls for parties and a back staircase to the kitchen. Zero ghosts tho.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Granville Inn. The service has been impeccable and the room has exceeded our expectations. Things are very clean, fresh, updated and modern yet the historic charm has been preserved. I would come back here again for sure!

We booked the night as a short getaway from Columbus, we arrived and despite a sign in the lobby listing Sunday night dinner hours and Easter Sunday dining highlighted on their website we were told at check in that the dining room and oak room were closed for the night. No room service available either. Poor form! We asked about other options in Granville and were told everything was …closed and we should head back toward columbus to eat. The place we were trying to get away from! By the way after the desk staff assured us they checked everywhere and nothing was open we drove to New Albany for dinner and in our way back clearly saw an open pizza place two blocks from the hotel. Thanks for not helping at all Granville Inn! To make matters worse our friends surprised us with champagne and a dining voucher as a belated wedding gift, the Inn happily sold them The voucher even though their dining room was closed and we can’t use it. It expires in one day! We won’t be back.

One of my favorite places in the area. You can come in for a casual bite in their awesome tavern, or sit down for a great dinner w/ linen table cloths. Chef Chad is the best and his scallops are killer!

Absolutely beautiful historic building and the whole area. If you are traveling between PA and Ohio, you need to take 10 minutes off your route to visit this area and stay here. The place shuts down after 9 pm but you can drive to the local grocery stores for snacks and adult beverages. Breakfast was elegant although not substantial. Look for deals online to save on the nightly rate.

We frequent the Granville Inn for lunch. Everything on the menu is terrific. Lunch here is relaxed and will take a while, but it is worth the wait!

Ordered a well done steak which had a lot of pink inside. You would think at these prices they could get it right. Parking is lacking. You could not pay me to go back.

We went to the Granville Inn for dinner and could not have been more pleased. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Our waitress was helpful and friendly; she knew the food and the wines and could easily answer our questions and then the menu choices. Highly recommend.

Our meal here was good but not great. My meal (scallops) was creative and well executed, my wife's was only an ok on both counts. Our server was excellent at her job and mad e the meal much more enjoyable.

Even if you live in Columbus, you need to take a 28 minute (on my motorcycle) drive to spend a night at this place. The entire facility was refurbished and is on par with a NYC boutique hotel, but it's in Granville! I used to work in the hospitality industry and I admit I am a "hotel snob. ' The place is historic and the restaurant was worth every penny. You won't find an entrance or a staircase like theirs, at Best Western (Sorry Best Western, I didn't mean to slight you, you are good at being a quality value hotel. ) However, you aren't the Granville Inn. Too many nice Taverns and Bars to WALK to. Go visit…

Attention to detail and responsive customer service. The rooms are sized as described, though the floors can be a little noisy. Coffee is always appreciated in the Keurig provided in the hall!

Denison has done an amazing job fixing up this place. The rooms are nice with comfortable beds, the bar and restaurant are wonderful, and the staff is really friendly.

My fiance and I went there for a wedding. The ceremony was outside and it was beautifully set-up. It was very private. Then we had a cocktail hour and the staff was very friendly, helpful, and courteous. Dinner was awesome; the chicken wasn't dry and it was served in a timely manner. Nothing bad happened at all. Drinks were cold, water was filled in a timely manner and bathrooms were spotless.

The remodel is outstanding. The place has kept all its charm. Food is fantastic and drinks are reasonable. I highly recommend this for dinner or just drinks.

Granville Inn has been purchased by Denison University and subsequently renovated. The renovated facilities have been a long awaited improvement on the restaurant and bar area, new group spaces and the hotel as whole.

Wonderful decor (very 1920s/1930s) and colors! I wish I had more time to explore the grounds. Our room was clean and quiet and I feel we got a good rate. The staff were very accommodating regarding storing two bicycles we had brought with us. I only wish we could have stayed at the inn for our entire trip (unfortunately, the weekend nights were all booked up by two weddings).

Fantastic service. Despite our one year old strolling the floor like a pit boss, the staff went out if their way to make brunch a relaxing event for everyone.

Very nice hotel only had few apps. To eat but was very good. Go there take your time enjoy the town.

This is one of the worst dining experiences we have had. Our evening was in celebration of a long-time friend's 80th birthday. To start with there was quite a crowd that evening because of a special event, and there was no parking available within reason. My husband had to walk quite a distance to park the car. For some reason the Inn did not provide any valet service, which we later understand was fairly common. The table at which we were seated was directly under a heating/cooling vent. The weather was quite cool and yet the air conditioning kept coming on. Our server made adjustments more than once. Near the end of our evening we finally felt heat! Our guest of honor ordered the French Onion soup, which had to be sent back because it was not HOT. She ordered the calves liver dinner which came out with big chunks of what should have been bacon; maybe it was but she didn't care for the chunks as typically this is prepared with STRIPS of bacon. She did not eat the chunks. As she ate the liver she realized it was not thoroughly cooked. The server was shown the piece of meat and offered to take it back for additional cooking — seriously! There was some type of muffin in an apple bottom that accompanied the entree and it was still frozen. Eventually another one showed up heated thoroughly but by then it was too late.

We came in to celebrate our five year anniversary tonight, and had specifically chosen the Granville Inn because they had several gourmet vegetarian options for me to choose from online. While the menu changed from what was on the website (leaving me few options), our server Sherry went above and beyond and had the chef cook something special. I was given a plate of the most delicious grilled veggies and out of this world rice — and they even cleaned the grill to keep things meat-free for me! I was so excited, and SO FULL. Our server was accommodating, kind, and thoughtful, and the chef made a meal I will never forget. We really appreciate the Granville Inn's willingness to make sure I had the experience we were hoping for. Thank you!

Beautiful, historic inn that is freshly remodeled. Amazing dinner served in the Tavern. Right in the heart of beautiful Granville, Ohio. Our room was gorgeous, super comfy bed with luxurious linens. Highly recommend.

Absolutely love the Granville Inn! Such a beautiful place to stay and the restaurant is amazing. My favorite dessert is the Beet Carrot Cake. Best I have ever had!

The historic Granville Inn is a beautiful gem of this older community. Its historic walls, adorned with memorabilia of the town's past and present give an air of sophistication not seen in many other places. The staff was gracious and knowledgeable about the town, good food choices in the restaurant, and the building itself. The dinner I had here was top notch and will definitely return again!

Went to the oak room for dinner and was unimpressed with the food. My wife and I ordered scallops and filet mignon and everything was completely unseasoned. The owners need to make sure the chefs season their food!

Within the last year of so has been totally renovated after purchase by Dennison University. The layout is not as upscale as it was but it still is a very nice place. The focus is no longer on fine dining but it is still offered and is fantastic. The focus now is a much bigger bar and average bar food. For a place so elegant I have not been impressed with the bartenders. Table staff is generally fine. Overall the setting is great. Certainly a great place for large groups. If you want bar food and fine dinning I think you can do better in Granville.

Food is good. Service in restaurant is hit or miss. Lots of staff standing around and chatting at the bar area. Very hard to find people who want to do their jobs these days. Very sad.

Very disappointing! Called months ago for our Thanksgiving reservation. Arrived at 11:15am. Friends went in while I parked the car. As I entered 3 managers were telling staff don't take any push back from customers!? This was in the lobby! As I walked to our table I saw we were seated in a walk in closet, no windows poor lighting! We asked to be moved and really got an attitude. When we asked why we could not sit in the dining room we were told the decision was made before we arrived and cannot be changed. Finally we were seated in another section with lots of empty tables. Food was fine but the day was ruined by the managers attitude. The customer comes in third behind management and staff. If you choose to go to this Inn be prepared for very bad service and a bad attitudes! Nice building.

Had a wonderful dinner in the Oak Room with nothing but positive things to say about the food and our wait staff. Everyone we dealt with was polite and professional, and we were seated promptly at our reservation time. Between our dinner group we tried a good portion of the different menu options and had rave reviews on all of it, from appetizers to dessert. Whatever kinks in the wait staff that some of the other reviewers on here had issue with must have been out worked out, because we found nothing in our experience lacking. I would highly recommend the oak room if you're looking for a nice evening out.

Great two days at the inn. We had the presidential suite. It was fabulous. Granville is quant and charming. Would definitely return.

Let me start off and paste what is on the Granville Inn's website: Tavern at the Inn Sunday — 11am-2pm and dinner at 4pm-9pm Monday-Thursday — 11am-2pm and dinner from 4pm-11pm Friday-Saturday — 11am-2pm and dinner from 4pm-12am Now that we have the hours of business, we can start this story. Last Saturday we stopped in for lunch and showed up at 1:50 for lunch and was refused service because they closed at 2:00. On their website it states they are open until 2:00. Not to mention as we were walking about there was another party with a handicap person who was turned away as well. Very disappointed as the website states 2:00 not 1:50. Will never go back again and what a disgrace to the Granville community.

We invited our cousin from London (England) to lunch. The building is wonderful, but the food and service were disastrous. The service was surly, slow, and unhelpful; the place was so cold, we were shivering, and then to top it off, someone with a drill started to do undo windows where we were sitting. So embarassing and not something to be repeated.

I met two friends for lunch at noon and we were "lucky" to get out a 2:55 pm. We agreed to sit at a high table on stools with no backs. Water was served but no offer of any other drinks was given through the entire meal. Even when I ordered coffee, I did not get it. The harried waitress wanted to take our order 25 minutes after we were seated but we had no menus. After getting the menu it was another 20 minutes before our order was taken. Then a 35 minute wait ensued for a salad, a bowl of soup and a burger. The bread was way too toasted and the salad was swimming in dressing. Being women with no pressing appointments, we talked (surprise) and at 5 minutes after 2pm we were asked if we wanted dessert and by that time we were hungry again. We all ordered the raisin cake and it come at 2:35pm. Interestingly, we noticed the table next to us had also ordered the cake and they got whipped cream on theirs. We finally had to ask the young lady filling water glasses to find the waitress to get our bills. I guess I'm one of the people who remember the Granville Inn as an elegant dining room with good service and good food and not a poor attempt to turn it into a sports bar. Thank goodness the multiple big screen TVs weren't on or I would have walked out. But I doubt I will ever walk back in.
